Ghosts and Snow (Danny's Intro to SW) 3B61TaQ
Are you CRAZY when all your friends are GHOSTS?

It was odd. It hadn’t been long since Danny joined his cousins guild, per his mothers pushing, before it had closed its doors and the guild was disbanded.. He never even got to talk to his cousin before he ran off to be with his girlfriend. That was embarrassing… The older von Weiss had a partner unlike him. He was alone with just his son, and his ghost twin. He wasn’t sure what he wanted to do… definitely didn’t want to go back to Minstrel to his mother and grandmother. Sammy didn’t want that either. He needed to get someplace he could go and protect his son in. The young, pink haired man had heard word of a guild called Silver Wolf. They were treasure hunters and magical researchers from what he had heard. And that interested the pink haired man greatly! It sounded like an adventure, so of course the young child that accompanied him agreed to go to the snowy mountains and see what the place was about.

Arminius had heard about the weather and told them that they needed to suit up before going, and that’s exactly what they did. The two humans were bundled up much like marshmallows as the ghost twin made himself relatively invisible so he didn’t have to deal with the coldness of the mountains. As they reached the Phoenix Mountains, the trio happened upon a path, in which Danny decided to take up the mountain. It wasn't until they came across a snow storm near the top that he stopped and stared in awe of the mountain and the storm that seemed like it wouldn’t stop. He was hesitant at first, but the ghost twin urged his brother to go into the storm as the guild hall should be up ahead of them… or at least at the end of this potential path. He stepped into the storm, feeling nervous as he could barely see. He held Sammy close to him to try to keep him warm from the mountain, but he was cold himself from all the ghosts. He could only hope he was shielding his child from the harshness of the weather.

Danny dared to glance up, seeing a blue spectral wolf approaching them. He put a hand on his child's head to cover his vision of the wolf, not sure of what to expect at first, but Arminius walked ahead without issue, and smiled. “I think it likes us?” He says as he puts his hands on his hips and turns back towards Danny. The wolf didn’t do anything, almost seeming like it was waiting for Danny to follow. With a slow step, he let his hand be removed from his mini me and started to follow after Arminius and the wolf. The closer they got to the wolf, the less the storm would seem to be on them.

Sammy turned his head to see the wolf, and gasped in awe at how visible it was. “Daddy! Is that how you see Uncle Armi and your other friends?” He asks.

“Sometimes, bud.” The Minstrelian chuckles as he continues to follow the wolf. Armi seemed to act as a barrier between the two, trying to not let Danny get too close to the wolf as they traveled towards the guildhall. As they reach the plateau where the guildhall was, Danny almost froze from the sight of it between all the large rocks and trees surrounding it with the garden. It was a beautiful sight in the sea of white from the storm. He quickly fixed his steps as he looked at the wolf, smiling at it. “Thank you.” He says to it calmly before he jogged up towards where the guildhall was. Sammy reached his hand over his fathers shoulder and waved towards the wolf that didn’t get much closer to the guild.

As soon as Danny crossed the barrier to where the guild hall was, Sammy squirmed out of his fathers arms and ran towards the entrance. “Sammy! Come back here!” He half jogged after his child, hoping he wouldn’t get hurt or make anyone think that he was up to something by his jogging to the entrance of the guild. Sammy managed to get himself in the guild hall, and Danny was instantly going in after him. He paused as he looked around the lobby that greeted them and felt a hand reach over to close his mouth.

Arminius made himself physical again. “I think we’re safe.” He told his pink haired twin as he looked over at the excitedly running child in the lobby before the kid ran back towards his father and hugged his leg. They were both a bit cold, but the warmth of the lobby felt good to them, already warming their cold skins.

“Daddy! I want hot chocolate now, s'il te plaît!” Sammy giggled up to his father with his currently rosy nose and cheeks from the cold.

Danny picked up the child, and chuckled softly. “Lets wait to see about joining the guild first, then I’ll get you your hot chocolate, okay?” He looked around, unsure of who to go to right now, or if he had to wait here for someone while he rubbed his currently gloved hand on his kids back, trying to warm him up a bit.

-Silver Wolf Guild Hall, outside the guild cafe-

Wearing her green, white and gold outfit with black bike shorts on underneath the skirt and Ses Revanche concealed in her right boot, Leona walked out of the guild cafe with a cup of coffee in a to-go cup. She kept telling herself that today she was going to focus and study either the book of magical ingredients she had received from Dr. Reid a few weeks ago or she was going to find a tutor who could teach her the language of Midi. However, she just could not find the will to study today. No amount of coffee and no amount of willing herself to study could get her to focus enough to actually study.

Leona was disappointed in herself for that glaring character flaw. She was the Guild Master of a guild with an intellectual mission and on most days she could not be bothered to open a book to read. Even when she had carte blanche to choose what to study she could not find the motivation to seriously study a subject. Leona thought back to Dr. Reid's refusal to help her learn robotics.

Maybe Dr. Reid was right in refusing to help her.

If Leona could not even focus long enough to read a book on magical ingredients, what made her think that she could focus long enough to master the field of robotics?

If she could not learn to study, she should not even bother trying to take a GED test to pave the way for a university education.

Leona took a sip of coffee and was about to head back to her room to make another attempt to study the magical ingredients book when she felt a magic signature enter the guild hall. The Wizard Saint decided to go check out the source of the magic signature. That was better than dwelling on her intellectual shortcomings or going back to her room to make another futile attempt to study. Sometimes she did not know why she even bothered buying those GED test preparation books.

It was not like she was smart enough to take university classes.

She barely graduated from the village school back home.

She should just give up on a higher education and not waste her time and money.

Shoving those unpleasant thoughts aside, Leona began to make her way towards the guild hall lobby to see who had dropped in.

    -In the guild lobby-

Leona entered the guild lobby to find three males standing in it. She saw a pink-haired young man and a young boy standing next to each other. The third fellow was blonde and was standing next to the pink-haired one.

"Hello there. I'm Leona Jarnefeldt." Leona introduced herself to the trio, not bothering to use her titles right away. Leona had a few reasons for not using them when she introduced herself to people. One of them was that she did not like to wave her titles around for attention. Another was that she liked to try and deal with other people as equals and it was hard to deal with someone as an equal if they were awestruck upon being told that they were in the presence of the Wizard Saint of Courage.

Are you CRAZY when all your friends are GHOSTS?

As the trio were approached by the blonde, Danny moved Sammy to his hip and smiled at the woman who introduced herself as ‘Leona Jarnefeldt.’ Danny put his free hand on his heart and gave a small bow, careful not to drop his child. “I’m Danny, and this is Sammy, and that’s Armi.” He says as he motions to the mini him, then the blond look-alike. Sammy raised his hand and was waving happily to Leona, and Armi gave a quick nod as a greeting.

Danny seemed to be debating on something, honestly looking like he was hesitating. He then clears his throat and sets Sammy down. “Um, I am looking to join Silver Wolf. Whom would I be able to talk to about that? And, um, Danny is actually my nickname, I’m Daniel von Weiss, cousin of Johann, I uh… erm… I’m pretty sure the majority of people know about Dies Irae disbanding? I was a part of it.” He scratched the back of his head. He felt a little embarrassed admitting all this. He hoped that by admitting that too though, it would help his case in joining with little issues. Or this could backfire on him instead! Only this interaction with this person would tell that though. She was cute too, but here he was, feeling like he was making a bit of a fool of himself.

“Papa said he wants someplace that I can be safe at. And this place has cool wolves!” The child exclaims as he bounces up and down a bit. His rosy cheeks were slowly lightening as he was starting to warm up within the building.

The blond man crouched right next to the kid and gingerly put his hand on the kid's shoulder. “Let papa talk first, then you tell them this, okay?” He was calm as he said that to the kid, who eagerly nodded and smiled up to the woman, then noticed the drink in her hand. “We’ll get you hot cocoa soon. Avoir de la patience.”

Flickering a lighter deep within the focus she had in her practice, the potion-maker would sniffle as smoke would ascend into her face from the bundle of wrapped plants in front of her, quickly moving to toss the natural bundles into a bubbling cauldron beside her. It had been a few weeks since Angel had joined the guild of Silver Wolf, and she had honestly not strayed far from the guildhall after wheeling her traveling cart near the vault- setting up her little potion-making and floral section of her belongings near a wall out of the way was a blessing, and she needed to get through this batch of herbs before she went out to get more! "The bundles.. they should separate on their own, the cauldron is really hot. Th- thank you, v̷͙̩̎̔̏y̶̹̥̒͒̍̏̂̒ả̸̦̦̭̄̅̀͜e̸̙̫͊̌̀̐͘̕͠į̶̦̫̈́k̷̭̭͚͉̟̹̖̐̅͆͋͛̍," she would seemingly speak to herself from the eyes of anyone that could catch a glimpse of her existence through the stained glass windows of her cart on wheels, but her voice would be directed to a skull that rested under an opaque black silk cloth- nobody had met the spirit that remained secluded within the darkness under that soft blanket. Angel wanted to keep it that way, she wouldn't be ready to expose her secrets to her new allies this early- even if she was overreacting due to her anxieties, she would wait.

Giving the olive-green glowing concoction within the cauldron a few stirs within a clockwise motion, the raven-haired gothic girl would notice movement across the guildhall from her stained-glass windows, causing her to cease her stirring and redirect her gaze for further inspection. "Now this batch just has to boil.. f- for a few hours~! I see some people out there.. it looks like.. o- our guildmistress, a grown man- a-and, a little boy," she would quietly speak to the skull that silently sat behind her within the darkness, reaching over to grab a plump black beret to slip it over her green and black two-toned bangs, "maybe I should try to m- make new friends.. I haven't in a while, uh.. well, maybe I shouldn't. But.. it would be good to finally speak with Leona, a-and those new faces." Sighing due to her anxieties and the feeling of an empty pit within her chest, Angel would begin to slip on her bulky black boots decorated with silver chains and accessories, pulling out a small mirror that was stored in-between two cabinets that held various books, plants, and potions she had yet to sell. Looking at herself in the mirror, her eyes would seem to glisten an ultraviolet violet, accessorized by the extremely dark eye bags and their contrast with her pale skin. "It's like the.. the eyebags are getting worse every day! I- I  blame you for this," she would exclaim with a hazy voice and a stutter toward the skull, tapping the counter that he sat upon. Still, no response. Maybe he was sleeping.

Unlatching a chain that locked the doors of her carriage within the guildhall, one of the doors would slowly swing open, releasing a subtle aroma of burning sweet herbs and other natural flavors from the tonic she was working on- in a black tank-top covered in a transparent black shirt and fluffy black shorts Angel would slip out, her fishnets cascading down her legs into her decked out boots of deep black hues. Looking around, she would spot the same sight that had made itself known to her through her green stained glass- slowly approaching with her hands near her sides, the gothic potion girl would begin to be able to hear the conversation between the three that she arrived late to, her eyes blinking slowly as she would begin to listen. "D- Dies Irae..? Ah! S- sorry for my rudeness, it's just.. I've heard a few things about.. that gu- guild in my travels," she would exclaim within her fluster and would look down at her chains upon her boots, "I've.. always respected people that f- fight for the good in the world, even when it.. gets hard. Um.. you can always say no if you want, but.. I- I would love to hear about your t- travels one day.. i- if you want!" Raising her gaze back up to the three that stood in front of her, the potion mistress would seem to notice something and gasp, clasping her hands even harder than before- she forgot to introduce herself to the strangers, her guild master, and butted into their conversation, which made her feel quite embarrassed due to her lack of great manners. Her mother taught her better than that- wherever she was now, she knew she would not be proud of her daughter's behavior in this moment, or so she thought.

"I- I'm.. sorry for my lack o- of manners, I really am..," she would appear to act as if she were blushing despite the lack of any color other than the black under her eyes manifesting upon her face, raising her hands to look at the three with a nervous smile, "I- I'm Angel! Angel.. Lore. Nice t- to meet you. A- and Miss Jarnefeldt, I- I am so grateful to finally.. be able t- to meet you as well!"

Leona watched Danny point to Sammy, the child in his arm, before motioning towards a blond fellow standing nearby named Armi. Leona waved at each of them as they were introduced. She then listened to Danny give his full name as Daniel von Weiss and state his relation to Johann von Weiss.

Leona recognized Johann's name. She had met Johann a few times in the past on occasions such as the "Night of Eternal Darkness" incident a little over two years ago, Nessa Cordelia Lux's birthday party, and at least one other time, but what that last time was slipped her mind at the moment. She might be able to remember it later.

Leona shifted her focus to the fact that Dies Irae had disbanded. She had heard bits and pieces about that guild disbanding, but since she was almost always on the go she had been unable to learn all the details. The Wizard Saint should really start paying more attention to current events before her ignorance bit her in the backside one day.

The Wizard Saint's attention was momentarily diverted from Daniel to Sammy, who loudly revealed that Daniel's purpose for joining was to give him a safe place to live. Sammy also liked the wolves outside the guild. Leona smiled a little before she focused back on Daniel, who had earlier expressed an intent to join Silver Wolf and asked who he could speak to about joining the guild. Leona was about to answer that question when a young woman with dark hair that boasted olive green streaks joined them.

The new arrival claimed that she had heard of Dies Irae and held great respect for those who fought the good fight even when the going got tough. She also asserted that she wanted to learn about Daniel's adventures one day, but only if he chose to tell her about them. The young woman then apologize for interrupting and introduced herself as "Angel Lore."

"Hi there, Angel! It's nice to meet you too!" Leona greeted the dark-haired guild member. She had not seen Angel before today, but that was no problem. Leona was always glad to see new faces in Silver Wolf Guild Hall. After greeting Angel, Leona then turned her attention back to Daniel so that she could answer his question from earlier.

"I'm the Guild Mistress of Silver Wolf, so I'm the one you'd want to talk to about joining the guild." Leona said to him, finally revealing one of her titles. She did not like using her titles until she had to, but this was one of those times where she had to. She just hoped that the sudden revelation did not make Daniel feel awkward.

Ghosts and Snow (Danny's Intro to SW) 3B61TaQ
Are you CRAZY when all your friends are GHOSTS?

Danny looked over to the newcomer and waved to him. “I don’t mind telling about my travels. I traveled far more before I had gone to my cousin's guild. That might be a little bit more interesting though… maybe.” He chuckles before the other gets a little flustered over her manners. He bows again to Angel as she introduces herself. Sammy waves to her. “And you didn’t interrupt, I don’t think you’ve interrupted us at all honestly.” He was being charming, and Arminius rolled his eyes to his brother’s antics.

“I’m Sammy! Nice to meet you~!” He chimes happily as he clings to his fathers hand. Danny uses his other hand to ruffle the child's hair as he looks over to Leona again.

As soon as Leona introduced herself as the guild mistress of the guild, Danny seemed to smile brightly. If he had dog ears and a tail, they’d be wagging by then. While Danny was doing that, Arminius was glaring at Angel a bit, staring at her intently. He could tell something about her. Danny probably wouldn’t be able to tell unless he touched her, or if Arminius told him about it. Danny seemed to gingerly let go of Sammy as he stepped closer to Leona. “That was easier than I expected it to! Last time, in Dies Irae, I just met my cousin’s girlfriend before Johann came over and… talked.” He nervously scratched his cheek. That wasn’t really a good ‘talk’ with Johann… or much of a talk really. Danny shook his head and smiled. “If I’m to do anything to be able to join Silver Wolf, what would I need to do to join?” He asks rather eagerly.

“If you could limit it to him, that would be great.” Arminius raised a hand, allowing it to flicker out of opacity before staying solid again. “I can watch over Sammy as he does whatever he needs to.” Sammy ran over to Arminius and hugged his uncle happily.

Adjusting the placement of her black beret on the top of her head, the ghost girl would joyously close her eyes as she would smile in response to the remarks of Danny and her Guildmistress- at least, that is the name that she thought she had caught earlier when she scoped into his words of Dies Irae. The words of the stranger were quite comforting to interact with for the potion-seller, and it was not difficult to pick up on his charm; had she experienced attraction to men it would not have been difficult for her to catch feelings for someone with charisma like him.. but she wanted to find her princess, wherever she may be. Looking down at the much shorter of the three, Angel would smile and wave at the small boy after he would introduce himself as 'Sammy'. "Well then.. i- it's settled! I'll be around, so.. when you're free, come stop by my cart of plants and po.. potions," she would redirect her gaze to the rose-haired man that stood in front of her, her eyes looking in an attempt to not make eye contact with the partially visible Arminius that would be beside his brother- she would wait to interact with him for now, it was what she thought would be best for the preservation of her secrets, even if she was wrong. Angel hoped they didn't share that one thing in common with one another. Twirling her pale-hued fingers through the olive green strands of hair that lay intertwined within her black hair, she would listen to the two speak in front of her about joining the guild- the feeling of excitement would begin to take root within the heart of the ghost girl. She was excited to potentially work with someone that's been in a guild with values like Dies Irae- the feeling of respect was there, even if she now had somewhat of higher expectations for the ex-soldier's capabilities. Taking in everything they would speak about and the observations of their physical appearances, her heart would begin to rapidly flutter; she was becoming slightly overwhelmed, something she would experience quite often around bunches of new people.

Scratching the back of her neck where her long strands of deep dark hair would divide, the potion maker would look around as she would feel the effects of her rapid heartbeat, beginning to breathe through her lips a bit more rapidly than before. "A- Ah! I've gotta.. go check on my potions..! Auf wiedersehen für jetzt..!" she would nervously exclaim before quickly running in the direction that she came from, which would lead her right back toward where her traveling cart was stationed. It was quite a blessing that she was able to wheel all of her grassy belongings into the guildhall- she wasn't sure if she would have been able to make it all the way up here with her stuff all in one piece without the help of that strange scientist she had run into on the way up. Angel hadn't seen him since- she wondered where he was when she would go to sleep at night in her bed, thinking about all the scary possibilities in the world. Her flight or fight response directed her to make a full sprint to her potion crafting station in her cart to avoid having a panic attack in front of her guildmistress and potentially new allies rather than to check on her potions. With the flames of her companion, which remained within a deep slumber, it wouldn't be but an hour at least until her newest concoction would be ready to begin to cool. Slipping through one of the open doors on the edge of the back, the gothic girl would run over to the glowing green liquid and would give it a good stir, trying to get a hold on the rapid breathing in her chest. Going outside for a smoke would be one way to fix this issue, alongside taking a calming tonic- all she wanted was to lay down and let the ache of anxiety in her chest go away so she could go back to acquainting with her allies!

"A s- smoke..! Yes, a smoke..," she would quietly speak to herself, grabbing a small vintage cigarette tin that would hold her substances of choice and a lighter, "oh.. and you. Maybe.. t- the snow'll wake you up, s- stoopid..!" Grabbing the skeleton head, which would mimic that of a human skull, the ghost girl would secure the dark cloth that wrapped around its entire makeup of bones so it would not come loose within her grasp- slipping the other things into her pocket, she would quickly slip back out of the cart covered in large growing vines and herb drying racks and would make her way to one of the exits on the side of the building, her eyes set on the door handle and the bundled up skull in her hands. Pulling on the door she would slip out once more into the chilled air that surrounded the base of Silver Wolf- she was within the exterior of the building on one side that outlooked a snowy forest, which seemed to be quite quiet in comparison to the inside. Leaning on the wall near the door, she would slip down its side to sit on the ground- raising a cigar-like wrap to her lips, she would light the end of it and would blow it out into the air, allowing for it to dance away into the endless expanse of snow that coated the steep mountains. The sensation of comfort was almost immediate upon inhalation- it wouldn't be too much longer until she would be finished outside and ready to go back inside to rejoin the conversation. But the outside of the guildhall was quiet and oh so comfortable.. thank goodness the Guildmistress was in there to take care of the recruitment of those three so Angel could cozily 'check on those potions'!

Placing the bundled-up skeleton head in front of her as she would continue to take big drags from the cigar, one of the sides of cloth would begin to flutter in the cold wind, soon ceasing as she would tuck it into another fold. Out of her black beret would wander a large beetle of green color with a holographic shell- it was one of the shells that would shift colors when a light was shone upon it, which would slip down the side of her head onto her shoulder and down the rest of her body. A set of moths would follow, approaching from one of the lamps to sit on the top of her hat as she would blow out small white clouds from her black-colored lips; it wouldn't be long before a swarm of various multi-colored insects would sit around her and on her comfortably to take a rest, some using her hair as blankets and others making their way into her pockets. "Now.. when it comes to that potion I'm making..," she would quietly speak to herself, allowing for a large stag beetle to make her way into her hand and to slowly climb around, ".. a small tinge of speckled whim dust and moonstone in each vial, w-wrapped in violet ribbons. Why.. am I s- stressing out so much about this it literally has a few hours left until it's going to be done.. umm.. ooh, what if.. i- I added little lavender stems on.. the outside. hmm.. das wäre süß!" It was strange getting the silent treatment from her potion assistant when it came to planning out the packaging process of her elixirs and tonics- maybe that was why she was so stressed about this one batch. Or maybe it was because of how pricey some of the ingredients were!

"Kann ich es probieren, bevor es in die Flaschen kommt..? It will be best," a deep voice would speak to the girl within her mind, resonating with dull, pulsating violet energy from one of the folds in the cloth that covered the skeleton, "..forgive me for the silent treatment, madame." Feeling a sense of relief upon hearing his remarks, a look of anger would appear to form on the ghost girl's face as she would react to his words with a grunt-like sound of irritation- usually the spirit would tell his friend that he was leaving on an expedition of his own before he would go.. it was hard for the girl not to worry when her traveling companion was to vanish without warning. "..At least- at least tell me next time you go, you.. you know how confused I get with th- those kinds of things, mr. rücksichtslos sie," Angel would exclaim to the voice in her head, blowing out smoke in-between words, "..but my whimsy fl- flyer potion is coming out quite good, i- I think so yes. All I've got to do.. is, um.. put the crystals in the bottles and the sp- sprinkles..! Yes, and wrap them.. ah! But- it's got a few hours.. left on the boil. Well- you know that.. b- because the fire is your fire, duh. And.. there are new recruits inside.. and I think.. well, uh- I'm not sure, but." Interrupting herself to take another big toke, the black and green-haired girl would look at the glowing bundle of cloths that sat beside her with intent, the wind's curving across the snowy skies breaking the silence between the two momentarily.

"I'm sure.. you'll be able to see it better than I can," she would speak to v̷͙̩̎̔̏y̶̹̥̒͒̍̏̂̒ả̸̦̦̭̄̅̀͜e̸̙̫͊̌̀̐͘̕͠į̶̦̫̈́k̷̭̭͚͉̟̹̖̐̅͆͋͛̍ quietly, finishing her cigar, "beobachte sie..? für mich..?"

Leona was glad to see that Daniel had not been blindsided by the revelation that she was Silver Wolf's Guild Mistress. She was not trying to be theatrical by acting like a rank-and-file member and chatting with new arrivals before suddenly revealing that she was the Guild Mistress of the guild he wanted to join. She was not withholding that information until just the right moment to gain leverage at a pivotal point in their interaction. Daniel did not seem to hold the sudden revelation against her... in fact, he looked happy to be talking to her.

Leona kept quiet as she listened to Daniel talk about his experience in joining Dies Irae and how he had once met Johann's girlfriend before Johann himself eventually met with Daniel and spoke to him. Leona refrained from commenting and instead focused on Daniel's question. He had just asked her what he needed to do in order to join Silver Wolf.

Before the blonde could answer the question Arminius chimed in with how wonderful it would be if she could ensure that Daniel was the only Von Weiss who joined the guild. She noticed that Arminius' raised hand briefly turned translucent before turning solid again. The Wizard Saint's face showed a look of surprise at what she had just seen before she turned back to face Daniel and made eye contact with him.

Leona took a few moments to think her answer through before giving it. No matter how many times she did this, the blonde was always worried about her phrasing being vague or her answers not being informative enough. Once she was sure that she had the phrasing just right, she began to answer the question.

"All you have to do to join Silver Wolf is to accept the guild tattoo, Daniel. There's no special test or anything like that." Leona assured him that joining the guild was simple. The blonde then thought over the question she was going to ask him. It took a few moments for her to run through the phrasing in her mind, but once she was sure that it was right she asked the question.

"Would you like to hear more about Silver Wolf before you join?" Leona asked Daniel a question of her own. She was fairly certain that he would want to learn a little more about Silver Wolf before joining, but she did not want to assume anything. Therefore it was best to ask if he wanted the information before launching into a description of the guild and how it worked.

Are you CRAZY when all your friends are GHOSTS?

Sammy waved to Angel as she left the group to go check her potions, honestly wondering what it was she said, but he figured she said something like goodbye. “Au revoir!” He giggles out before his attention goes back to his uncle since he spoke up to the guild mistress of Silver Wolf.

After Arminius exposed that he wasn’t fully human, Danny cleared his throat. “I can see and talk to ghosts… and Arminius is my brother… who has been one since I was born. He won’t take over anything… or whatever, but he’s mostly good.” He assures Leona, hoping his casualness about him being able to see ghosts no issue would calm her down as well. As the blonde said he only needed to accept the tattoo to join the guild, he seemed to perk up and grinned to the guild master. Then she asked if he wanted to hear more about the guild. “I had heard about it a little before coming here. Well… I heard that the guild are treasure hunters, and that they research magic? Ai-je raison? Am I right? I wouldn’t mind hearing more about the guild though.”

He smiles as he feels Sammy tugging on his hand again and getting excited. He wanted to hear more as well. “Do you go on adventures around Fiore or Earthland?! Fight monsters? Find really cool old stuff?!” The child was literally bouncing with excitement as he was expressing his own curiosity of what the guild did fully. He didn’t care about the research stuff, he was just a kid, that’s no fun. Daring adventures were fun though.

Leona listened to Daniel talk further and learned a few things about the cousin of the famous Johann von Weiss.

The first thing Leona learned about the prospective new member was that Daniel had a natural ability to see and talk to ghosts. That was an interesting ability and was one she had not encountered very often. Before meeting Daniel the only people she knew who could see and talk to ghosts were in the Order of Lightbringers.

The second thing she learned about Daniel was that the blond fellow named Arminius was his brother. Leona was not certain if they were brothers, but their resemblance led her to believe that there was some familial connection between them. What genuinely surprised her was the fact that Arminius was a ghost and had been one for a long time. Earlier she had gotten a big hint that the blond was a ghost, but she had no idea how long he had been that way. She was tempted to ask Daniel what had happened to Arminius, but in this case it was best to keep her mouth shut and not ask the question.

Leona instead focused on Daniel's claim that his brother would not possess random objects like a poltergeist and go around scaring her or others. Leona was visibly amused by that. She was at the point in her career where poltergeists did not bother her all that much unless they had possessed weapons and were floating about. Poltergeists were still creepy, but they did not cause her nearly as much alarm as zombies that could think and lead others of their kind.

Daniel informed Leona that he had heard a few things about the guild before setting out for the Phoenix Mountains to find it and join up. He told them what those things were and the Wizard Saint listened to them. There was truth in his words.

"What you heard about Silver Wolf was right, Daniel. We search for treasures far and wide and we research magic as well." Leona informed him that what he had learned about Silver Wolf was accurate. She thought about what else she could tell him in response to his request to hear more about Silver Wolf. After a few moments of thought she came up with what she thought was a good answer.

"Two of our three divisions focus on those tasks, Daniel. As their names imply, the Hunters focus on finding and retrieving treasures and Scholars focus on researching and studying magic. While each division has a primary role, members aren't restricted to one role or the other. There's a fair bit of overlap in divisions. For example, some Hunters aren't content to just find and retrieve treasures and want to study them a little closer, so they do some research in the library." Leona told him a little more about Silver Wolf and two of its three divisions. She was about to tell Daniel more when Sammy chimed in to ask a question of his own in his own inimitable way. He wanted to know about the adventurous side of the guild's mission, something which Leona could not blame him for.

Leona herself was all about the adventuring side of things. She was always up for an adventure. However, she was not so keen on the research side of things.

"I've traveled all across Fiore, Sammy. I've also been to Desierto and Midi. In fact I was born in Desierto." Leona told the small youth, trying to engage him despite rarely speaking with children. She recalled the second part of his question and addressed that next.

"I've fought zombies, ghosts, werewolves, skeletons, smarter than normal zombies, bandits, slavers... I've fought a lot of things, Sammy." Leona told the child. She had done a lot of fighting over her three-plus year career and she had fought so many things that she had forgotten everything she had fought. She was sure that there were a few things that she was forgetting, but Sammy's question had a third part and she was going to address that too.

"As far as finding old stuff, I've made a couple of finds over the years. I haven't made as many finds as other Silver Wolf members, but I've found an ancient stone tablet in Desierto that I'm still working on figuring out." Leona told Sammy. She kept the discovery of the Adrenaline Pack to herself because it was too dangerous to let others know about. It could eliminate the ability to feel pain, instantly heal wounds upon using it, and boost strength at the expense of higher cognitive functions like critical thinking, problem-solving skills that did not involve using violence, or the ability to use magic. That was not something the Wizard Saint wanted the world to know about.

Are you CRAZY when all your friends are GHOSTS?

As the guild mistress of the Silver Wolves expanded just a bit more on what they did, and on what the divisions focused on, the ghost and his living brother both seemed to smile as Sammy got excited for his question being answered. “I’m from Minstrel! Same as my papa and uncle!” The young boy jumps up and down excitedly. Her rattling off all that she’s fought, had the child looking up at her in awe. “That sounds so cool! Papa! When I get older I want to join Silver Wolf as a mage!” He says as he grabs Danny’s hand and starts to shake it with excitement.

Danny was laughing softly at his child's confident declaration. Looking back up towards Leona, he nodded. “There is another division? You mentioned three? Hunters, Scholars, and what else?” He was highly curious about the final division. He then cleared his throat. “I also want to say I definitely do wish to join.” He wasn’t sure if wanting to confess that he wanted to join, part for giving Sammy something to learn about, was something he should say or not in this situation. He smiled as he rubbed the back of his neck.

“And one last question, what do I have to do to join officially?” He started to twiddle his tongue a bit around his mouth, playing with the tongue ring he had as he was starting to get a little nervous. Before, at Dies Irae, his cousins girlfriend had stamped his tongue with the guild mark… and that ended up being his favorite spot for the guild mark. That wouldn’t make this guild mistress uncomfortable, would it?

Leona did her best to keep a straight face as Sammy told his father that he wanted to join Silver Wolf when he came of age to do so, but she could not help but to smile a little. She was amused by his youthful exuberance, which was an energy she had not seen in a long time. That youthful exuberance reminded of her own childhood in Desierto... if it even qualified as a childhood.

Seeing Sammy so excited about the possibilities the future held brought back memories of her father Samuel telling her stories about things he had seen beyond the desert. Leona would get excited about the stories and express her wish to be a traveling merchant like her father, but her mother Sophia did not share her daughter's enthusiasm. Her mother seemed determined to crush her daughter's desire to see the world beyond the desert and she would have eventually succeeded if it were not for the chain of events that led to Leona's exile from her home village almost four years ago.

Not wanting to ruin the cheerful mood with an ill-considered utterance, Leona kept quiet about him joining Silver Wolf when he was old enough. That possibility was not off the table, though. It could happen one day.

Speaking of the guild, Danny asked about the third division of Silver Wolf and that question made Leona focus on the present again.

"The third division of the guild is the Defenders, Danny. Their primary responsibilities are to protect the guild vault and the guild hall. They keep a watch out for thieves and make sure that any thieves who somehow infiltrate the guild hall don't get away with anything the Hunters and Scholars have discovered." Leona gave a brief description of the third and final division of Silver Wolf. The Defenders were the third division of the guild, but their work was every bit as important as that of the Hunters and Scholars. It was the Defenders who ensured that thieves did not infiltrate the guild hall and make off with any of the guild's hard-won treasures or any of its research.

Danny declared his interest in joining Silver Wolf, something which pleased Leona. She was always glad when a new member joined the guild. Speaking of joining the guild, Danny had inquired about what it took to become an official member of Silver Wolf.

"To become an official member of Silver Wolf, all you have to do is have the guild tattoo somewhere on your body. Just make sure that the place you choose to get the guild tattoo is within reason, please." Leona informed Danny. She then turned her right arm towards him and rolled up her sleeve to show him her guild tattoo, which was blue and was located just below her right shoulder. She had gotten it in what seemed like a lifetime ago, back when she had first joined Silver Wolf after meeting Leila Vergious in Hargeon Town and learning about the guild's existence. Once she was sure that he had seen it she rolled her sleeve back up and turned to face him again.

"If you're ready to accept the guild tattoo, where would you like me to put it?" Leona asked Danny where he wanted the tattoo that would make him an official member of Silver Wolf.

Are you CRAZY when all your friends are GHOSTS?

As the ghost magnet was informed of the third division of the Silver Wolf guild, he seemed to physically pause for a couple seconds before looking directly at the guild mistress. He puffed a cheek out as he was thinking of how he should respond to that, but first he got sight of her own guild tattoo. The pink haired man took a step forward to get a better view of her tattoo, and looked visibly impressed at it. He then was posed with the question of where he wanted to have a guild tattoo. His cheeks flushed a little as he leaned back on his foot again.

Sammy was jumping up and down again. “Daddy had his guild tattoo from auntie Ama’s and uncle Johann’s guild on his tongue! It was so cool!.” The tyke giggled as he danced in place.

Of course that made the man blush as he glanced away. “W-would my tongue be unreasonable? Right above my tongue ring? Or I could place it there myself? I’ve brushed my teeth and tongue today, so it shouldn’t be too bad… save for my saliva…” He shrugged his shoulders while he offered to do it himself to let Leona not be too comfortable. But of course as he started mentioning his saliva, he started grimacing, not sure if that was good to say or not. “A-and I’m very interested in the Defenders division! If it’s alright? I would like to protect things, and learn how to as well…” His purple eyes glanced towards the mini him dancing next to him, completely unaware that his father was implying that he wanted to protect him.

While waiting for Danny's response on where he wanted his guild tattoo Leona listened to the excitable Sammy talk and learned about the location of his father's tattoo. Leona did not comment on the youth's remarks. She did not know who "Aunt Ama" was, but she instantly knew who "Uncle Johann" was from an earlier segment of the conversation with Danny. After that Leona turned her attention to the issue of where Danny wanted his tattoo.

While the tongue was not a common location where the Guild Mistress placed guild tattoos, it was well within her request of making the guild tattoo location somewhere within reason. Even though it was an odd location she had little problem with that place. It could have easily been a lot worse.

"There's no problem with me placing the guild tattoo on your tongue, Danny." Leona informed him that she had no problem fulfilling that request. Once she had declared her willingness to give Danny the tattoo where he wanted it she turned her attention to describing the Defenders to him. The fellow was clearly enthusiastic about the idea of joining that division of Silver Wolf, so she would do her best to tell him everything he needed to know about the Defenders.

"The primary responsibility of the Defenders is protecting both the guild hall and the guild vault. They protect those locations from thieves looking to infiltrate the guild hall and steal guild artifacts." Leona gave a brief description of the Defenders and what they did. Leona paused and tried to think of any other pertinent information that Danny might need to know about the division he was interested in joining. She was having a hard time coming up with anything else he needed to know... in the meantime she would wait to hear his reaction to what he had already been told before saying anything else.

Are you CRAZY when all your friends are GHOSTS?

As Leona was accepting of his tongue being where he could have his guild stamp, Danny seemed to perk up some more. “Really? I can?!” He was honestly thinking he’d of gotten the opposite answer. But of course Leona did not go the course he was thinking! He listened to her expand more on the Defenders, a rather serious look on his easily excitable face as he watched the blonde, smile creeping on the corner of his mouth as he continued to listen to her. “That seems like something I’m interested in. If it’s no trouble, I would like to be placed there after I get my stamp.”

With that, he opened his mouth to let his tongue stick out enough for the stamp to be put on it. Of course the guild mistress would get a clear view of his ball tongue ring right under the old tattoo of his cousin's guild, Dies Irae.

“Daddy!” Sammy said suddenly. “Can I see the tattoo when you get it?”

    “Yeah?”

    “Okay.”

The kid went over to chill next to his uncle, leaving his father momentarily confused by the child’s encounter before shaking his head and nervously laughing. He turned back to Leona and shrugged his shoulders to her, not understanding the kids current train of thoughts there fully besides wanting to see the tattoo. Regardless, he let Leona tell him anything else he may need to know before he let her stamp his tongue.

"Sure thing, Danny. As soon as you get the guild tattoo you can join the Defenders." Leona assured Danny that there would be a place in that division of Silver Wolf waiting for him. She was not just saying that as an empty platitude. There were plenty of places in the Defenders for any who wished to join the division and carry out its important mission and Danny would be granted one when he became an official member of Silver Wolf.

"Should the guild hall ever come under attack you and the other Defenders won't be alone. Every guild member regardless of division is obligated to help defend the guild hall. Even I'm required to help." Leona assured him that should the worst happen and the guild hall be invaded that he would not be expected to carry the burden of defending the place by himself. The other guild members would be there to help Danny and the other Defenders. Leona would be the first in line to forcibly evict uninvited guests because she was the Guild Mistress and she was supposed to protect Silver Wolf territory at all costs.

After offering that assurance Leona went silent and waited for the place that the guild tattoo was to go to be revealed to her. When Danny's tongue was finally exposed Leona wasted no time. She raised her left hand and prepared to cast the spell that would grant Danny his guild tattoo. She was about to start casting the spell when she realized something and lowered her left hand... she had failed to ask him what color he wanted the tattoo to be!

"Hey Danny, I forgot to mention something. Your guild tattoo can be any color you want. Before I give it to you, what color would you like it to be?" Leona asked Danny the crucial question, barely keeping the embarrassment off of her voice as she asked him. She should have remembered to ask Danny that kind of question from the very beginning of the discussion about the guild tattoo, but she had gotten caught up in explaining the divisions of Silver Wolf to him and placing emphasis on her request that the tattoo be on a place that was within reason. Leona needed to do better about remembering to ask important questions like what color a prospective Silver Wolf member wanted their guild tattoo to be.
