Name: Leonidas Jarnefeldt. His first name is pronounced either "Lee-oh-nye-dus" (the Western pronunciation) or "Lee-own-ni-daas" (the Greek pronunciation). He will answer to either version.
Gender: Male
Age: 25 years old
Birthday: August 2nd
Sexuality: Heterosexual
Special Characteristics: He has a thin scar going down his right eye as a "souvenir" of a bandit raid on his home village over two years ago. His blond hair goes down to his shoulders.
Personality:
Leonidas is a person who has been hardened by over two decades of life in Desierto. He is inured to hardship and is used to things going wrong at the worst times, so he does not have the most cheerful outlook on life. However, Leonidas does not let it show on his face because wearing his heart on his sleeve will not solve his problems. He also has to put on a brave face for his mother, who constantly worries about his safety and that of his younger sister Leona. Leonidas also feels the pressure to be like his famous younger sister and be brave no matter what danger he faces.
Inside battle Leonidas does not use too many fancy tricks or put much stock in sleight of hand. He prefers the direct approach and likes to get in the face of his opponent and keep pressuring them with close-range attacks from sword, technique, or spell. With that being said, he is not a raging berserker with no sense of self-preservation. He assesses the situation before charging in and has no problem with using long-distance spells to gain an advantage when necessary. Having grown up in Desierto and having fought countless battles against bandits and slavers, Leonidas is not averse to killing his enemies and does not shy away from a fight... he knows he is a fighter and is not conflicted about it.
Outside of battle Leonidas is not too hard to get along with. He tries to be somewhat sociable and polite and has somewhat better social skills than his younger sister, but if someone does not like him he will not lose sleep over it. He also thinks before he talks and can do small talk without much difficulty. While he is not the life of the party, he does not mind social gatherings and can find them to be enjoyable. Despite his intimidating appearance Leonidas can be fairly pleasant to be around.
Leonidas does not like leadership roles and he especially dislikes leadership roles where he has to sit behind a desk. He much prefers to be in the action and to only have to worry about himself. If he absolutely has to lead anyone he prefers to learn what they can do and then let them do it without micromanagement. Also, he feels that if he ever has to lead anyone the situation might be beyond saving.
As a follower Leonidas tends to do what he is told without much complaint, if any. He prefers his independence, but if he has to follow someone he sets his displeasure aside and obeys. However, he does not believe in undue deference and they hold absolute authority only as long as there is a battle going on. Once the battle is over he reverts to his normal personality and treats the leader like any other person.

Likes:
- Coffee- Just like his younger sister, Leonidas adores coffee. The stronger the better.
- Swords- Having learned to use a sword at ten years old and having been a blacksmith since he was sixteen, Leonidas always appreciates a good sword. He likes either one-handed or two-handed swords and can use either with equal ease.
- A Good Fight- Leonidas likes a good fight in both senses of the word. He likes fighting for a just cause and he likes fighting an opponent who can challenge him.
- Freedom- Leonidas likes being free to live his life on his own terms.
Dislikes:
- Sophia Jarnefeldt- He has been around his mother his entire life and wants a break from her. While she has eased up on wanting grandchildren, Leonidas still resents her for harping on the subject for years and years while he could not get away from it.
- Leona Jarnefeldt- Although the two have reconciled in the past, he still harbors a degree of resentment for his famous younger sister, who seemed to be able to go anywhere and do anything she wanted while he was stuck at home having to care for their mother. Leonidas resents her for the freedom she enjoyed while he had to stay at home and be the dutiful son.
- Samuel Jarnefeldt- Leonidas detests his father, who left the family in Desierto when Leonidas was eighteen and Leona was fourteen. He sees his father as a cowardly deadbeat who needs to stay out of his life and stay wherever it was he ran away to. A reconciliation will take a very long time to happen... if it ever does.
- Bandits- Having spent over two decades fighting them while living in his home village, Leonidas is not fond of them and will eagerly fight them whenever they appear.
- Slavers- Leonidas has a special hatred for slavers. Having seen them carry off a lot of his fellow villagers when he still lived in Desierto, this is one group of enemies Leonidas will kill on sight. Unless he has explicit orders to take them alive, slavers tend to have short lifespans when Leonidas is around.
- Pacifism- Leonidas has had to fight for survival ever since he could hold and use a sword. He sees pacifism as a luxury he cannot afford and an unwise belief to hold in the face of aggression.
Motivations:
- Support His Mother- Even though Leonidas has some issues with his mother he still cares for her and wants her to be safe and happy. He has started his mage career in part to earn money needed to care for her.
- Go On An Adventure- Having spent over twenty years stuck at home in Desierto, Leonidas is eager to get his own adventure started. He is eager to make up for lost time.
- Become His Own Person- With the fame of his younger sister hanging over his head, comparisons between the two Jarnefeldts are inevitable. Leonidas wants to make his own way in the world, not be constantly compared to his sister or be seen as leeching off of her fame to get ahead.
Fears:
- Snakes- Just like his younger sister, Leonidas fears snakes. Having witnessed his sister's nearly lethal encounter with a rattlesnake when she was eight years old has scarred him both as an older brother and as a person... the knowledge that one bite is all it might take to kill him is frightening. He will either kill them or run away from them depending on how close one is to him.
- Deep Water- Leonidas has even less experience around water than his younger sister. His swimming skills are awful and hearing stories about sharks and other threatening animals living in water does not help him with his fear. He can handle being around a swimming pool without much difficulty, but being around a lake or an ocean fills him with apprehension.
- Losing His Family- Even though Leonidas has some issues with his mother and younger sister he still cares for them on some level and does not want to lose them yet... except for his father Samuel Jarnefeldt. Samuel Jarnefeldt is someone Leonidas detests for abandoning his duties and leaving his son to take care of the family.
