Nightshade Machete:

Named for the primary ingredient used in its creation, the Nightshade Machete is intended to give Leona a weapon that has greater reach than her knife and is quicker to swing than her ram dao. It is also able to be used outside of combat to cut through brush and cut tree limbs for shelter and fire material.
   Strengths:

• It can be used to cut through thick brush and chop tree limbs outside of battle
  
• The Nightshade Active Ability lets the blade deal extra damage to Plant-based creatures and summons
  
• It can be easily used in close quarters combat; it offers more reach than a knife while being easier to wield than a sword
  
• Its Long Reach Active Ability can add three inches to the blade length, allowing her to surprise enemies who think that they are just out of reach (the blade is normally 18 inches long)
  

   Weaknesses:

• Its Active Ability deals extra damage to Plants only
  
• While its Long Reach ability adds a bit of length, the weapon is still shorter than the average sword and its reach suffers accordingly
  
• The lack of a handguard makes using the weapon to block other weapons risky
  
• Long Reach does no extra damage, only extends the blade's length

Nightshade Machete:

A steel machete that is named for the primary ingredient used in its creation, the Nightshade Machete gives Leona a utility weapon that can be used for more than just combat. Outside of combat its sharpened blade can cut through brush and vines to clear a path through thick plant growth and cut down tree limbs for shelter and fire material. In combat its special properties allow Leona to cut through the protection of armored and magically shielded opponents and to inflict a long-lasting drain to an opponent's vitality by tapping into the essence of the poisonous plant ingredient the blade is named for.

   Description: A sharp blade that can cut through most plants, vines, and brush can also cut through armor and magical shields. When Leona uses this Ability the length of the blade glows green and the blade's edge glows a bright silver. Leona then slashes at the target. If an armored target is hit it takes 50 HP in damage. If an unarmored target is hit it takes the full 100 HP in damage.

Plant Cutter can punch through armor and magical shields, but it gives up half of its damage potential to do so.

   Description: Nightshade is a poison that has been used for centuries and Leona can tap into its power to hurt opponents with a long-lasting drain to their vitality. When Leona uses this Ability the Nightshade Machete glows a dark purple. She then slashes at the target. If the Ability hits the target takes 120 HP in damage on the first turn and suffers a 5% Drain to HP for the next seven posts afterward.
