Born the eldest son of the Knox family, Bechor was placed into an irreconcilable contradiction. Being the only of his siblings to be born without a semblance of the magic power typical of their lineage, his weakness pervaded every aspect of his life. Nonetheless, he thought it his responsibility to protect and maintain their household. He was a runt that held himself to be an alpha. Bechor learned quickly that his parents could not be relied upon. Fate granted them everything they needed to succeed and yet they were failures, and he soon began to resent them for that, growing bitter and cold. Had he been given a fraction of that, things would be different for the poverty stricken family.
Bechor has grown into someone who values strength and duty above all. The greatest virtue one could have is to embrace ones role and have the power to fulfill it. He is fiercely self-reliant to the point of refusing other's help even in dire circumstances. His exterior remains bitter and resentful, frequently having no patience for those he deems to be beneath him. The vitriol he feels towards the world is plain to see. However, for the few that can pierce his hardened shell, they will find that Bechor has a deep sense of loyalty to those close to him and is even empathetic to the plights of those in unfortunate circumstances. His dry sense of humor will also catch many off guard. Only to those he trusts the most will he occasionally let his mask slip and show a drop of vulnerability. In spite of these more positive traits he is mistrustful of most and constantly strives to keep control in any given situation and in all of his relationships. He has no qualms about manipulating those around him if he believes it is for his greater benefit.
Likes:
Loyalty: Bechor has a deep sense of loyalty towards those he cares for, and he similarly respects those who share this trait of his.
Control: Stemming from the lack of control he had growing up, Bechor prefers to have things go the way he plans and has little patience for curveballs.
Music: Spending many a cold night alongside his lyre, composing new pieces is a frequent pastime.
Cooking: In his youth, the nigh empty pantry in his home forced Bechor to be creative with his meals if he wanted anything with a modicum of flavor. As an adult, this has developed into a love for culinary arts and pride in his meals.
Dislikes:
Failures: Who can have any respect for someone who cannot fulfill their duties? Incompetence breeds failure.
Disrespect: In his constant bid to maintain control of his situation, Bechor takes offense to those who disrespect or disregard him. It frequently leads him to be confrontational or even vindictive.
Laziness: Bechor is a driven and goal-oriented person. He views those who are unmotivated as being wastes of space.
Motivations:
Protecting his family: Growing up this was all that mattered to him. It is his reason for being and failing this would make him the lowest of garbage.
Overcoming adversity: Being the only child to be born without magic powers, Bechor has always struggled with feelings of inadequacy. He has a strong desire to prove his strength to not only himself but to those around him.
Revenge: The Knox household was constantly being hounded by debt collectors and local gangs looking to take advantage of them. The actions these men took led Bechor to being extremely vindictive to not only them but all who have wronged him.

His own weakness: His inherent weakness at birth has been a constant source of insecurity throughout his entire life.
Abandonment: His family was torn away from him once before. What’s stopping it from happening again?
Failure: Being a perfectionist, Bechor holds himself to incredibly high standards that would destroy him should he fail to meet them.
