The Rune Knights is a combination military and police faction that is tasked with protecting the nation of Fiore and its territories from internal and external threats. They answer directly to the Magic Council, with whom they share their headquarters in Era, Fiore. Their duties include national security, enforcement of the nation's laws, the upholding of the justice system, and the general enactment of the Council's will. While their main headquarters is located in Era, they have garrisons in every major city of Fiore and most of the country's more populated areas. Although the nation of Fiore is part of the Luminous Covenant and officially allied with Bellum, the Rune Knights' primary focus is the security and protection of Fiore itself and they are considered their own independent faction, not a subfaction of Luminous Covenant.
Additional Information: A character that is a member of both the Rune Knights and a guild is considered a civilian contractor and not a full member of the Rune Knight military. Being a fully fledged officer in the Rune Knights is considered a full time job, thus only guildless characters can obtain military ranks. However, guild mages can still sign up to be part of the Rune Knight faction as civilians that offer their aid, skills, and expertise to military personnel as desired.

The Rune Knights offer members progression through 3 different Ranks apart from the role of Faction Leader. Depending on their rank in the Rune Knights, members receive varying degrees of the "Authorized Military Tactics" modifier, granting them additional EXP from finishing Faction Events, Faction Jobs, and regular Job Endings. The bonus applies as follows:
- Veteran & Faction Leader Tier - +60% additional EXP
- Officer Tier - +40% additional EXP
- Soldier Tier - +20% additional EXP

Alignments and user groups excluded from joining the Rune Knights:
1) Any mage or individual that is younger than 16 years of age. No exceptions.
2) Any openly dark mages, active criminals, or individuals that have outstanding warrants or are otherwise wanted in Fiore. If your character belongs to these classifications, you will need a disguise or alter-ego if you wish to join this Faction and stay in it. Any characters that are discovered to belong to any of these classifications will be removed from the Rune Knights and pursued for arrest.
2) Any openly dark mages, active criminals, or individuals that have outstanding warrants or are otherwise wanted in Fiore. If your character belongs to these classifications, you will need a disguise or alter-ego if you wish to join this Faction and stay in it. Any characters that are discovered to belong to any of these classifications will be removed from the Rune Knights and pursued for arrest.
The Rune Knights currently possess only 1 Chapter:
Outside of Bellum and Pergrande themselves, Fiore has been the most openly involved in the dispute between the two enemy nations, starting with the border skirmishes that preceded the failed peace talks where The Magic Council had dispatched the Rune Knights to assist Bellum. For the time being, Fiore is officially affiliated with the Luminous Covenant and the Magic Council has charged the Rune Knights with continuing to support Bellum in the coming war. Despite this, Fiore's alliance with Bellum is tense at best as the nation itself is home to a number of immigrants from several nations across Ishgar that have varying stances on the dispute between Bellum and Pergrande, which puts them in a complicated political position. The Field Marshal of the Rune Knights has thus far complied with the Council's authority to move the military in defense and support of Bellum, however she has publicly vocalized her personal intent to maintain diplomatic relations with both nations in a desire to uncover the truth about the tragedy in Joya and seek proper justice. While Fiore is by no means one of the largest nations in the continent when it comes to its wizard population, its military does boast thousands of disciplined and highly trained soldiers that are a mixture of both mages and non-mages, and it is currently led by two of the four proclaimed Gods of Ishgar. Additionally, the nation's wealthy economy allows them to contribute quality resources in more ways than just raw manpower, making them a well rounded and influential force.
