Sometimes Vengeance Can Make You Stronger
❝
The trek through the Phoenix Mountains were never meant to be easy for anyone. Even Phoebe, who trained through simulated fields of the area couldn't have prepared her for the aching in her lungs with each breath. Although she controlled each one perfectly, it still packed a punch. Every now and then, her boots would get stuck in the snow, or her hat would fly off a few ways back. At certain points, she even debated on whether she should let them go. Yet, she didn't. She held her posture up high as she barreled through the terrain, knowing that she would need to look presentable if she wanted to become apart of a guild that she valued. The last thing she wanted to do, was be seen as a weak mage that just needed some shelter. She was an emblem of strength, and she wanted to show everyone that. So, when she heard the howls of wolves come from a direction in front of her, she smirked. Although the wolves trusting her would take a bit of time, she understood that she had already received the brunt of the mountain's ruthlessness while trekking up it. All she needed to do now was wait patiently before the wolves trusted her abilities. With each step forward, she looked around, waiting for the wolves to come up to her. She didn't expect much of a confrontation from them, but any would've been appreciated. At a certain point, she even wondered if she was just hearing things. There were no footprints in the snow, or loud huffs coming from the beasts to direct her.
She wondered if the wolves truly didn't know what to think of her presence, or maybe it was their days off...or...who knows. Before she could send herself into a spiral, she unstrapped Queenie from her back before flicking open the top of the lens, peering through it while scanning the area. After she had, she realized that the wolves were all in front of her. They seemed to stare at her with curiosity. She wondered why they were doing so, before realizing that it looked as though she were pointing her gun at them. With a tiny laugh, she restrapped her gun to her back before taking a small bow towards the wolf. At that point, they seemingly moved forward, etching her along. She felt a smile stretch across her face before landing in front of the guild doors. She felt her hands tingle with anxiousness before calming herself down. "Alright Phoebe, you've got this. This is your time to shine." As she opened the doors to the lobby of the building, she braced herself for any sort of welcome that would arise. Shoulders back, a pleasant smile on her face, and her chest pulled upwards.
