“… W-Wha, what the shit-!”
It was sudden and uncalled for, but someone just swiftly bumped into him and disappeared just as quickly, way before the stellar mage could even take a glance at them. Man, they were quick… and why was he holding a piece of paper now?! Did that idiot just leave their trash on his hands, EWWWWW!!!!
Q-Quickly, Imai realized that the paper wasn’t used as some kind of napkin, and that… it was actually a letter! Oh boy, things got all mysterious now, huh? Was it, perhaps, a letter from a secret admirer who was too shy to face him directly~? Awww, just imagining that made his heart flutter, and he hastily folded the paper up to read it. “Dear, uh… i-it’s all wet, I can’t read that. Uhhh… urgency… substitute… Im- wait, Mashyuu? This is Kenna’s handwriting!” So it wasn’t a secret admirer, after all… it was an open admirer! He knew that Kenna-nee dearest held him in high hopes and treated him like her adorable little brother (despite him having a lowkey crush on her, which would never be reciprocated due to a certain someone with fluffy tails), but the contents of this letter did read out as if it was meant for someone else. Someone who was going to meet up with him in the underground portal… that must’ve been the branch of Yggdrasil linked to their guild hall. Oh boyyyyy, he couldn’t wait to see who Kenna had hooked him up with – maybe she was trying to set them up for a date of some sorts? Then again, the contents suggested that this was some kind of important mission, but yeah yeah, forget that! Kenna was definitely pulling a few strings for his sake, most definitely…!
It was time to ready himself, then! Looking at the can of Sespi he bought earlier, he hastened in opening it with a click, then emptying the can in record time before letting out a quick, sharp burp. That was that… now his clothes. Well, it was a mission, but he could still look fly and get some drip, couldn’t he? Therefore, he decided that he had to take a visit back at his room and change clothes… a grey hoodie wasn’t cutting it, no way! He needed his classic, blue outfit…!
And there it was! Lying next to the stand holding his crossbow was his battle garments; he had tweaked and scrapped a little with them for combat purposes, but they still reminded him of the outfit he wore on his missions long ago. Only differences were, well… his scarf was longer and torn on the edges, symbolizing his destructive growth in power. His t-shirt was now black with a constellation’s design in white drawn upon it, and his belt strapped with more utility tools, and to top it all off - his sneakers were more drip than ever before. He even ditched the plaster on his nose… he had grown.
He probably needed his crossbow, too… he could use it as a source of conversation! Maybe, if he was accompanying a sweet gal, then he could draw attention to the crossbow and earn some bad points for badassery. Imagining this secret other fawning over his crossbow as he’d showcase it… it was sooooooooo dreamy! He couldn’t wait!
Just before he left his room, however, his face was tackled by a pink creature who had waited for him in his room all this time – Sei, the strange alien fella who was, sort of, his familiar and his companion for life. The non-talkative extraterrestrial creature with smooth, pink skin that revealed to have been covered in a most thinnest layer of fur clung onto his face, clearly wanting to come along this time. “Pfuaahahh, alright, alright, Sei, I got it, you can come along now – I’m quitting going to the club, anyway!” Sei, despite the lack of linguistics, couldn’t help but raise an eyebrow at his statement, but Imai allowed himself to elaborate, “If I want a girlfriend, then she gotta be a sweet one, y’know! Maybe Kenna-nee’s fetched me the sweetest partner for this important mission, foh! I knew I could count on her! She’s so fucking lovely!” He was fisting the air in utter, total excitement, bubbling with energy like never before, his love for his devilish sister growing and his hopes for his romantic future spreading out… this was definitely going to happen the way he imagined it, no doubt. 100%. 1/1. No diff.
He was ready now. With a single step, he allowed his body’s natural speed to overcome his surroundings’ perception of him as he blinked out of reality… but he was simply fast. Faster than most, actually. Imai was kind of a glass cannon, but he carried that role with pride. Since his body’s endurance was far from the likes of, say, the other Aces of Sabertooth, he had to focus on an area that he knew they were lacking in… Itori was versatile and possessed possibly the most lethal prowess in the entire guild, Kenna was self-explanatory – s-some kind of Demon Slayer but also a freaking, awesome Demon herself with the sharpest horns that one could ever have the privilege of touching – and Victoria held literal firepower as her damn birthright – no cap, really! Don’t underestimate her just ‘cause she was using guns and cannons, for she was arguably the one in the guild with the most dense concentration of mana! He could tell, he was quite sensitive to mana in that regard…!
Oh yeah, he was! His sensory capabilities had skyrocketed over the course of his training and stay in Sabertooth – he was able to almost just read people’s exact magical alignments and even emotions on a sniff, a whim, a single glance. And now, he possessed considerable firepower too… but he wanted to be the fastest. So fast, in fact, that no force in the world would ever be able to intercept him in his blue run…
