Solo Word Count: 2,500
Group Word Count: 5,000
Additional Requirements: N/A
Job Description: There's a very mysterious request on the board. An anonymous client wants you to travel to the Unknown Lands and navigate to a portal hidden in a large tree and test yourself. Be aware that this is not something for those with a weak heart. You life will be in danger the second you step through. Find your truth. The job only ends when you defeat the boss creature and it produces a portal to leave. When you emerge back in Earthland, a cloaked figure will pay you and evaporate with some wispy laughter. Weird.
Enemies:
Fearling
This odd little creature does not attack, but instead asks you to protect it. You may do so if you wish, but it will hinder you in combat by clinging onto you leg in fear or tripping you up as it runs away from an enemy. It screams and cries nearly constantly, which can be annoying. It can only take 2x B Rank damage before it screams and disappears. Please note that enemies will target this frail little thing over yourself.
Enemy Rank: Weak
Shadow Ghoul x15
These odd creatures seem to be made up of a tangible shadow of some sort. When struck by anything, they shatter into little shadow fragments and slowly pull themselves back together. They deal C rank damage when they attack and can't take more than on hit of B rank damage. Their presence seems to pull some negative memories or emotions from you, but moving past them will produce a tear of light that you can throw at them to keep them from simply reforming after 2 posts. They are immune to fear effects as well as slows, bleeding, stunning, etc.
Enemy Rank: Weak
Shadow Beast
This huge monster takes to form of something the viewer fears. The beast takes 3x B rank damage to shatter. It deals B rank damage and will reform in 3 post, unless the player overcomes the fear and uses the produced tear of light to dispel it. They are immune to fear effects as well as slows, bleeding, stunning, etc.
Enemy Rank: Normal
Your Darkness
Everyone has one... A dark side, that is. You find a giant mirror in the middle of a small clearing. When you peer into it, you see a warped version of yourself. It steps through the glass to face you. This creature is you in every way. with one exception. It is a manifestation of your negative emotions.
If you protected the Fearling all the way to Your Darkness, it will break away from you and dart bravely through your new enemy. While the thing can use all your spells and its HP is equal to your own at the time you looked into the mirror, its MP will be halved due to the Fearling's help.
If you attacked the Fearling before arriving at the mirror, it will reappear now and aid Your Darkness against you. It will cloak itself over your mirror image and power it up. Now its HP is double yours and one of its offensive spells is twice as strong.
Enemy Rank: Boss
Reward: 40,000 jewel.
Very few things Caelestis had done since becoming a slayer made sense, but this probably took the weirdness cake. A test of all things, set by a mysterious client in a location that could only be described as dangerous. One that took ages to navigate to properly, as well. He was more than likely stupid for even considering it, but as always, he was driven in his pursuit of knowledge. He couldn’t be given a mystery like this and not attempt to solve it, and this mysterious client was surely capitalizing on that.
At least Caelestis knew he was unlikely to die outright. His winds were more than enough to destroy most enemies, and he wasn’t about to stop that streak from going. His roar alone was deadly in its power, the intense screaming winds tears through enemies and objects alike when he needed them to. They would serve him well in the trial that waited ahead. That much, at least, he was sure of. With that in mind, he took a short breath and stepped through the ominously swirling portal.
