A rough, untrained note pierced the bitter night's air.

Thickly clad in a stark black trench coat, Lothric had one knee bent up, foot firmly on the cross-section of the fence post. The other dangled, the girl overall too short to reach the ground. Another note, out of tune and just as piercing, broke the silence between footfalls. Ah... How did they end up here..?
With both eyes open, Lothric flicked her orbs around the small metal box. An expression of incredible impassivity was worn in spite of the horrid attempt she had just made to play the thing. A breath in. She took another shot at it.
More of a melody this time, her eyelids fluttering half-shut, eyes tracing the instrument. A waning note. One that shook near the end. The player looked just a little bit pleased with it. Her audience, however, did not.

Glossing over the expression of Myrrh, who she was a little surprised had not tried to kill her on sight, a plethora of tainted animals surrounded them. Fungi sprouted out of their bodies, along with any other sorts of plants. A sad sight to be sure. Which was why Lothric, quitting while she was ahead, slipped the harmonica back into one of her many pockets and hopped off of the fence. Her hand clapped down on her sword. She whispered things inaudible. The earth shifted beneath her feet. The flow of her mana slowed. She felt it circulate throughout her body. An exhale.
She needed not speak to the other. When Lothric broke into a sprint before vaulting into the air, body twirling not unlike some exotic sort of dancer, it was quite clear what she intended and even more clear what Myrrh needed to do. The bear, far too slow to keep up with her, was cut clean in half before a single noise more could be made, Lothric having already landed behind it with a spinning downward strike. Kusanagi would have slammed into the ground did it not crack upon her landing, splitting open just enough to allow the recovery to pass uninterrupted, before sealing closed once more. Rocks shifted as the Slayer turned, uncaring of the blood staining her blade for the moment in favour of ensuring that the girl (who for all intents and purposes probably wanted Lothric in a cell considering the look she'd gotten earlier) was able to hold her own.
    Just stand by and watch.

    Myrrh
Gods it had all happened so fast, she had accepted a job to go slay some roaming monster in Sakuramori; before the Herbalist from their job in Beanstalk village had approached in some sort of...frenzy..? No panic would be the better word. Apparently her research into those strange plants from before had bore even more fruit, it just so happened that said fruit was...of the extremely dangerous kind. Apparently the weeds had attached themselves to the wild fauna of the area, inciting them to go wild and start attacking the local villagers. No more questions were needed after that, Myrrh shaking the woman into action - and shifting to her Wyvern Form; piggybacking her and starting to fly to Beanstalk village...

Of course, the Herbalist had also used a scrying spell to locate the coordinates of...Lothric. Just thinking of the woman left a bitter taste in the demoness's mouth, their excursion on the last two objectives involving these weeds ending...not so well, in Myrrh's opinion. She would hope needless murder would constitute that line of thinking in any person's mind but...obviously, she was wrong. Myrrh tried to dissuade the herbalist on her back but...she wasn't having it, stating the safety of the village needed the woman - unsavory as she may be. She was right of course, they would be able to save many more with two mages as opposed to one.

And that...was how they ended up here. Myrrh refused to acknowledge the one-eyed monster as she and the herbalist rode on her back, landing square on the edge of Beanstalk Village and immediately being surrounded; with Lothric playing some...unfortunate notes as an added cherry on top. Gods, it was awful but...making note of that would mean addressing the woman, and Myrrh was unwilling to...un-shun..her..? Words aside, she wasn't willing to speak to her; at least not until she was arrested after they dealt with this threat.

Myrrh let out a sigh as Lothric sprinted ahead towards the boss; vaulting over the foes and leaving her and the herbalist all alone to deal with the horde of enemies surrounding them. "Stick close. I'll protect you." Her eyes scanned approximately 16 beasts of varying sizes and threat levels. It would almost be funny seeing a mix of chickens, pigs, and wolves all working together...if their aggression wasn't so obviously targeted at her; and if she wasn't forced to put all of them down.

"Draconic Soul: Hydra" Immediately her body would shift into an even more monstrous form than her wyvern state, sentient serpents made of hair hissing and growling at the animals who were slowly forming a tighter circle around her. Obviously, these plants also gave these beasts some sort of tactical insight as well, considering the circle. Regardless of that though, it seemed one brave chicken decided to leap. Closing her eyes briefly she would dig through her memories and summon a gigantic axe into her hand, green wisps encircling her form as she spun on her heel - bashing it in the beak, before cleaving it in two - causing a mix of blood and feathers to fly into the air.

All hell broke loose as four of the wolves leaped at her, before quickly being launched back courtesy of a 360 slash from Myrrh; her serpentine tail batting away a pig that tried to charge her from behind. This was going nowhere, she would get overwhelmed if she didn't try to handle them all at once. Growling slightly, Myrrh would will another weapon into existence; this time a grimoire that hovered above her - causing a magic circle to form underneath her feet.

Wasting no time, she would stab her tail into the ground and rapidly begin to vibrate it; magical fractures appearing on the ground around her and underneath the beasts; an explosion of earth energy immediately following after. However, she was not done there - and began to immediately spin the axe above her head; slamming it down onto the earth and forcing an emerald tornado of magic to spiral up and around her - engulfing the monsters in a flame of pure carnage and destruction before they could recover.

Dispelling the weapons away, Myrrh would examine the area, sighing at the sight of the burnt corpses of animals littering the area. Looking up at Lothric Myrrh would flash her a glare, before quickly turning around to make sure the herbalist was safe. She didn't have the means to arrest Lothric right now, even if she did knock her out...the nearest city with magic knights was a way off. And...making sure the rest of the village was safe took priority.

Hold her own she had, at least; with the rest of the animals taken care of in one fell swoop, Lothric allowed a double-twirl of her blade to flick the sticking blood off, and procured a cloth from one of her pockets. Though she too had been sprayed with the bear's blood, having indeed cut it clean in half just a few inches from her face, she seemed more concerned with wiping down her blade. She'd gone so far as to fall into a crouch, sitting on her haunches with a light bounce and a firm stroke of the stained metal. Her eye, skeptical, flicked upwards to return Myrrh's gaze. Skeptical, and thoroughly unamused. She felt a little bit of that old self creeping in... "Say it." And she'd acted on it too. Another stroke of the blade, and Lothric stood, stuffing the cloth into a different pocket. No trust was extended, especially not when Lothric pushed her sword into its sheath and kept her fingers around the hilt. It was her ready stance. Myrrh had likely seen enough to know that.

But of course, the young Samurai did not move. Her half-gaze fixed itself with Myrrh's orbs, but yet she did not move. She would not be the one that instigated this. She knew why the girl was looking at her like this, but Lothric would rather die (not that the metaphor meant anything to her) than let a criminal walk the streets. It didn't matter if it was ten years. Fifty. The only way to prevent it was to kill them on the spot. 'Twas the was she had always done things. 'Twas the way she would continue to.
Lothric, her golden orb unmoving, took a single, silent breath. A subtle rise and fall of her shoulders was all that signified it. Deathly was her focus, and cold was her voice. "If you have something to say," The given eye narrowed. She squeezed the handle. "Then say it."
    Just stand by and watch.
