Traveling back in his own world was annoying, and that had been with the plethora of different transportation options that he had available to him. Sojiro didn't really understand how spoiled he was until forced to travel by foot in this new land, something that he hated with every fiber of his being. It wasn't that he hated exercise or being active, it was actually the opposite, but an overload of it wasn't something that he had ever signed up for! There was a disgruntled look on his face as he moved through the lush forest, grumblng to himself about how unlucky for everything that had befallen him so far!

He easily moved through the open trees of the forest, not taking the time to enjoy the noises the animals made peacefully around him. The sun broke through some of the tops and blinded him every few steps, only increasing his annoyance. But, as he felt himself starting to get worked up, he would take a deep breath and think happy thoughts. And that was when he had started to think about back home, the life that he had created for himself that had been ripped out from right underneath him.

At first it was throughts of the swim team and shogi club, where he had finally become the president... How he had done his best to keep up his grades... And from his grades, it made him think of how he was supposed to meet his best friend over six months ago for a study session before something terrible had overtaken him,
"Dammit, Takumi, you better have not let all my tutoring go to waste..." He couldn't help but chastise his nonexistent friend, wearing a tired smile on his lips as he slipped through the forest. Sojiro wore his short sleeved school uniform that he was hoisted away by, as well as his iconic duffel bag.

Takumi was a man of simple things and action, he didn't really like to bother himself with the details of why and more with the how? So when his coach gave him the warning to improve his grades, he didn't question why he needed the higher marks for a sports team, he asked himself how he could achieve that goal. It was that trail of thoughts that lead him to the smartest kid in the class, Sojiro Sakura. The guy was known to be a bit rude to people and always so serious about things but when people were put into such high positions, of course some of it would go to their head. His team captain, a swell guy could also be a bit of a bully mostly because that was the "cool" thing to do in school.

With that in mind, he essentially pestered the guy into helping him take notes and understand the subjects back in middle school. At times he would be harsh in his wording and frustration would show up when Takumi didn't quite figure it out as quick as Sojiro could but Takumi made sure to talk to him and explain what he wasn't getting as best he could. It wasn't easy but eventually the two begun to grow an understanding of each other that eventually bloom into a friendship that continued long into their later life.

How Takumi managed to make it to the same college as his far smarter friend was a mystery to even him but he didn't really question it, he was the "captain" of the football team but he allowed his smarter players to take stage and he essentially acted as a rally point. Alas, as much as things changed, things stayed the same and he once more found himself needing help with achieving higher marks lest he gets expelled from the school. It was that reason he found himself calling Sojiro and confirming the last minute details of the study session they were gonna have.

Of course, it wasn't quite a study session without any drinks and snacks? Dr. Pibb and some various munchies in hand, Taku felt he was ready for the day of hanging out with his friend and learning whatever junk the school felt he needed to do. Opening the door to the massive library, he'd nod a greeting to the kind old lady at the desk while he set out looking for Soji, excited to hear what he has been up to since the last time they met up.

However once he finally found the desk he was supposed to be at, he immediately knew something wasn't quite right as laying on the ground besides Sojiro's stuff was the body of his friend. His right hand reaching out toward him, as if just moments ago he seen him and tried to reach out for help but fell before Taku even realized what had happened. He looked desperate, sweaty and scared. A feeling mirrored by Taku as he watched in silent horror at the unmoving sight of his childhood friend laying before him dead.

"Not.... Not again..." He quietly muttered to himself as he took shaking steps backward, backing into the massive shelf of the library, some books falling from their unsecured placed positions and raining down onto the frightened giant. In that blind moment of panic, he did the only thing he was good at, he ran from the sight and out of the library. He needed to get out of there, he needed to get away, this wasn't reality. Something was wrong, this isn't happening again, this had to be a nightmare. In his rush to escape from the horror, he didn't even bother looking across road and it was that mistake that cost him everything. A sudden blaring of a horn, a giant truck and then there was nothing.

    ......Meanwhile....
The once calm and peaceful forest came alive with arcane power as the wind suddenly picked up pace and the once bright white clouds darkened and spiraled into a singular location not too far from a lone adventurer. Within the eye of the storm a summoning circle appeared and with a flash of lightning all the strange magic was blasted off and no sign of anything occurring except for the area where the lighting bolt had struck.

There a large blond man who appeared to have been rushing forward had leap back in a desperate attempt to avoid something before he landed back first into a nearby tree, leaving him shaking, confused and out of breathe as his wide panicked eyes looked around the strange new area around him.
