    The sun felt so real...

The rushing wind through the trees, the faint hues of pink, orange, and red fading on the horizon. The soft glow of twilight fell upon the world, masking it in a haunting light. What came after was the sound of footsteps, walking quickly along a dirt path. Birds and insects whistled and chirped around them, singing their last songs before tucking in for the night. A cloaked figure strode in the darkness, carrying little but lantern to light their way through the underbrush. These woods were certainly no place to be after dark, that was for sure. Lately rumors had spread of dark things shifting in the night, accompanied by several disappearances. To the locals, this was the result of some dark creature of unknown origin and structure. Evidence after all had been left all over the forest. Uprooted trees, large ominous tracks, and a strange aura that brought madness with it. What was once harmless and innocent had unexpectedly become hostile. To outsiders however, these were just stories. Tales of a long dead curse that had left this world long ago. For those still old enough to remember it.

Twilight continued to linger over the world, covering a massive grassy field with its last touch, and darkness crept from the forest. Alone at the edge of the field hugging the tree line was a single log cabin. Smoke rose from the chimney as a faint light shone from a lantern within. The girl was alone in her room. Or was it her room? This was her bed, wasn't it? The red blanket and light oak walls? The feeling would be familiar, nostalgic. The air that blew in from her open window smelled fresh and clean. She knew this field, right? The single Maple tree at the center? She had memories. But were they hers?

She would eventually notice the door to her room was open slightly, revealing the light of the fireplace within the living room. Faint voices of the ones she loved came from within. Everything felt so peaceful.

Tears of Magic [Private] Empty Re: Tears of Magic [Private]

Post by Lehanna Seraph 5th August 2021, 8:35 am

It wasn’t much to say that it felt incredibly comfortable the last few hours. She remembered last falling asleep while she had her nose in the textbook as usual. Thankfully she had not been a drooler or she would end up having problems with using them or having to pay for damages to them. But there was an overwhelming warmth that had fallen over her the last few days. Each night when she had fallen asleep was better than the last. But in her dreams she knew she could defy logic and create herself a dream in which she could feel the happiest. She could have things that she couldn’t have in reality. Forget things she didn’t want to keep remembering.

The teen jumped up suddenly from her sleep. A feeling of unfamiliarity came over her. When was she in a cabin? Looking down at her bed, she noticed how soft the bed felt, how large the covers were and the pink color of her blanket was unfamiliar to her. The door to the room was cracked open, light and crackling of a fireplace had caught her ear. But among that were two more voices. Unfamiliar voices that sounded like they were in a hushed tone. Did she go on a camping trip with a couple of the guildmates and have a blank moment? The slayer wanted to investigate a little, maybe her lapse in memory had made her forget who she came out with.

Climbing out the bed, the brunette paused and looked down to the set of sky blue pajamas she wore. She didn’t own these… Kita must have had her wear them. Her steps were near silent as she moved through the dark room to the door until she got to the door. The whispering voices got a little louder and she slowly peeled around the door to see them. They were unfamiliar to her. They resembled the young girl somewhat, but she couldn’t place who they could have been. It couldn’t be… ”M-Mom? Dad?” She muttered. Did she just have a bad dream? It was hard to tell which was a dream and what was reality, but it felt like this was what she hoped and prayed to he reality.

As the young girl found herself completely perplexed and confused as to her current situation, she'd notice that wherever she was, it felt almost real. Perhaps she knew she was dreaming. Perhaps she would figure it out, though that never took away from the feeling the cool breeze gave as it peacefully wafted through her window. Everything she touched, smelt, heard, or felt... It all would seem so real. The only thing distinguishing this place from reality was the place itself. Lehanna hadn't seen it before and had no memory of coming here, and yet it would still seem indistinguishable from life and world she had grown familiar with. There was an aura of peace and tranquility that also wafted over the air, the world felt calm and serene...

The two people within the living room heard the soft voice of their daughter, turning slightly from their initial conversation to see Lehanna standing in the doorway. Their faces brought warmth and nostalgia to the girl, as she'd know exactly who they were. "It's dusk already, were you planning on sleeping through the entire day?" The woman sitting in the armchair next to the fire place said with a smile. "Oh I'm sure it's fine." The taller man responded, reading a book on the couch. He had some bandage wrap around his ribs, but they were hardly noticeable with his clothing. "She had a traumatic experience yesterday, she's bound to still be shaken." He said, sipping from his glass as he looked up and nodded to his daughter.

The figure got closer, stopping across the field within the shadows of the trees. Draped in darkness, they stood. Watching.

An sense of calm and relaxation had left her to feel a little more at ease about the two in the seats in the cabin. Whoever they seemed to be, there was a sense of bond with them and it made her feel happier than anticipated. Smiling she stepped forward another couple of steps and it brought the two into a better view to her. Two brunette adults sat in those chairs and they began to realize she was there. Seeing them made her smile. Her parents... they were alive. They were here. The nightmare was over and she felt normal for once in her life... or so it seemed with how long it seemed her nightmare lasted.

A giggle erupted from the teen, hearing them have a light argument over how long she'd slept, but something that was said made her a little confused. "I.. I guess I just overslept. I had this really strange dream..." She replied to her mother even after the taller male had intervened on her behalf. "What.. what happened yesterday? I don't remember." She turned to look towards the man who appeared to be her father. What did happen and why did it look like he was hurt? Something seemed off by the way he was sitting, though mostly comfortable, it appeared like he was sitting in a way to ease stress from his chest.

The pair seemed to be acting normal enough, at least compared to what Lehanna could remember. Arching an eyebrow slightly, the woman sitting in the chair spoke up again. "Hmm, maybe you hit your head harder than we thought." She said with a slight laugh, but one that merited some concern. The taller man looked back up from his book and turned to face the girl once more. "Monster in the woods, right? Those nightmares you were having were real." He said, adjusting somewhat uncomfortably from his wound. "He saved you, Lehanna." The woman spoke up again. "And you still haven't told us what you were doing out there in the first place." She said again, her tone becoming somewhat scolding.

Across the light of dusk over the pines, shadows began to form above. The wind began to slowly pick up as distant clouds rolled in the distance, casting a somewhat haunting glow upon the meadow. The figure continued to stare from the tree line, looking up slightly to notice the change in weather. Soon they began to walk across the field towards the house...

Lehanna would notice something was slightly off. If the abnormal chill wasn't enough, the sense of sudden uneasiness would. "Please, stop hassling her about it, alright? It was an accident." The man said, coming to Lehanna's defense. "An accident that might get you killed. We still don't know what kind of magic infected you." The woman responded, her tone trembling slightly with worry.

The mention of her hitting her head had the brunette reaching over, rubbing around on top of her head, slowly going down her hair until she felt the bandages wrapped over it. It felt evenly and securely packed down and wrapped over to keep whatever blood from getting out and any infections from getting in. Upon touching it, her body flinched and her arm lightly jerked away from the sharp feeling of the pain. Nightmares? Monsters? Why was all of this being such a blur? Her mind kept only being stuck on the fact her parents were right there, all the more feeling like this dream was just something she had forgotten about, but yet all those that she dreamt still carried their weight. She turned to the window of the cabin, looking out at the pitch black night as the sound of crackling firewood and crickets filled the air. ”I don’t… I don’t remember…”

But something didn’t feel right. Her hand went to touch her head again and there was no pain this time. A chill shot up her spine, body trembling from the sudden sensation. Turning away from the window to the pair of adults, she could hear them starting to almost argue amongst one another. ”An accident? What… what accident? Is that how I hurt my head?” She questioned, taking a step forward before that sudden chilling feeling froze her. Her mind was telling her to stop moving. To stop getting closer to her parents, but she couldn’t fathom why that would be. Just one hug… just one sign of affection would make or break this from being a dream or reality and it prodded her body to move. But still, it held its ground. ”I don’t know what you’re talking about! Please, tell me what’s-” She screamed, forcing herself to stop suddenly as something caught her nose.

Something… magical. Nothing like she’d been able to tell before. It was different, but the feeling worried her even more. ”I-I think… I think somethings outside— watching.”

It was clear that as the couple began to argue more and more, the aura in the air began to change. Lehanna was not immune to this feeling, despite it appearing as though everyone else around her was. The windows would begin to rattle slowly as the wind outside began to howl in an ominous fashion. The shadows of the dark clouds creeped over the rising moon, casting the entire field around the cabin in darkness. As the girl tried desperately to understand the situation she was in though, the two adults seemed to ignore her pleas for answers, stuck in their own argument about events in the past that Lehanna had no memory of. It was only in her final sentence did the two's bickering stop.

Both adults looked over to Lehanna, and just as the man was about to open his mouth and say something the windows swung open from a furious gust of wind! The inside of the cabin was instantly filled with cold air, the fireplace being blown out and darkening the inside of their home. "What sorcery is this..?" He asked. "Don't you already know?" A new, cold and calm voice chimed in. Without any warning at all, another gust of wind forced the door open and in the entryway stood a cloaked woman with a golden eye.

"A gift from me to you." The mysterious woman said with a smirk while she walked into the cabin. Every step she took seemed to bring with it an aura of dread and fear. Something so oppressing and imposing, but also invisible. A feeling indescribable, but one that was sure to make those feel sick to their stomach. "A token of mine you already have." She said again, this time with a sinister laugh. Suddenly the wound beneath the man's bandages began to flare up! He yelled in pain before collapsing to the ground and clutching his ribs. "No! Stop! What's wrong!" The woman cried out in panic as she ran up to her husband who writhed in agony on the floor from an unseen pain.

"Use my gift as you see fit, for I'm not here for you." She said with a rather childish tone, walking further into the house passed the two adults and moving closer to Lehanna. Upon closer look she'd notice the woman appeared rather unremarkable, aside from the glowing clock for an eye that seemed to be the only source of light in the small cabin. "But you... You have potential... Tell me, Lehanna." The woman said, stopping just a few feet in front of the girl. Behind her the man continued to yell in anguish, until his cries of pain slowly began to turn into animalistic growls.

"Wh- What's happening!? No! Get ahold of yourself! Please!" The other woman pleaded as the man's body began to blacken from some unknown magic. His shape changing and growing into that of a monstrous creature! "Have you become friends with death?" The figure asked cryptically while Lehanna could see the man that was once her father turn into an unrecognizable nightmare. Ignoring Lehanna and the cloaked woman entirely, the beast would turn on his wife, her screams of both terror and pain echoing in the small house as the figure stood between Lehanna and the others, awaiting an answer...

Tears of Magic [Private] Empty Re: Tears of Magic [Private]

Post by Lehanna Seraph 18th November 2021, 12:02 pm

The continuing, incessant arguing was starting to make her upset. Why were they arguing more than they were trying to keep her calm and relaxed. The more they argued, the more upset she had begun to feel about it and soon it seemed to have stopped. The second she uttered that sentence, they both paused and looked at her. Just after, the door flew open and the cold, chilled air had blown out the light of the fireplace. The dark room left her barely able to see her parents, but the silhouette of a figure stood in the doorway now. Her eyes were locked to this person, the immediate fright of her having woken up from a dream only to be possibly killed here was the only thing she could think of. It was her fathers voice that first brought her out of that mindset when he questioned the person, but the voice... that voice.

The ushered screams of her father got Lehanna again in fear, but this time for the well being for the older male. "Dad!!" She screamed out, wanting to move, but the girl soon realized her body was albeit paralyzed. She couldn't move as much as she wanted. The woman's cackling laugh had brought that dreadful feeling to keep her body still while she could only watch. It didn't last long however, as the woman soon began to approach Lehanna and her attention had been drawn from her father who was currently doubled over in agonizing, excruciating pain. She had begun to approach the younger girl and for every few steps this cloaked, golden eyed woman made, the more she had slowly begun to back up by one step. Only after three steps did she hit the wall. A cornered mouse by the intruding cat.

Her eyes widened hearing her call her by name. Who was this woman? How did she know of her? Why was this happening to them? By this point, all she could hear was the changing sound of voice that here pained father was in while her mother cried out trying to see what was wrong still. She had not once taken notice to the fact Lehanna was cornered by this stranger, nor could she even speak as the fear settled in so deep she could barely breathe. Somehow, Lehanna managed to look past the strange woman to see her own father turning into some demonic looking creature. The terrified shrieking of her mother didn't help at all, but the girl only seemed to look up to the golden eyed woman. "Who-... wh-wh-what.." Her whole body by now was shaking and it made her freeze up, barely able to sputter out a word or two. She was afraid for her father, her mother, and herself. But what was this womans end goal? Why was she coming after the girl?

Post by Mythica 17th December 2021, 3:57 pm

Lehanna understandably seemed to be in too much shock to process what was happening around her. Between the screams of her parents and the change in scenery, her surroundings seemed overwhelming! Mythica wasn’t going to let up, however. From some unknown source a flame seemed to have spread out from the walls, and soon more fire began to appear all around them! The mother took little notice though, as the beast that was once her husband took all her attention as it tore her apart! Smoke filled the room as the wooden cabin lit up the night with a brilliant blaze, making the inside feel like an oven. Mythica, the Blood Wolf, appeared virtually untouched while she continued to step closer and closer to Lehaana, seemingly ignoring their burning surroundings.

“You will be..” Was all Mythica would say while she stepped closer and closer to the young woman. A very unfortunate stroke of luck for Lehanna, but Mythica on the other hand was overjoyed with how things ended up turning out. Despite all the fear and pain in her eyes, the blood wolf knew she could become a weapon. A weapon, with some proper care, that could help boost all of Mythica’s malevolent desires for this world. A champion of Chaos, and more importantly a face to cover Mythica’s. When Lehanna hit the wall behind her Mythica simply chuckled. The wood above the cracked with strain as the fires continued to eat away their surroundings. Soon a large chunk collapsed, cutting Mythica and Lehanna off from the rest of the cabin.

Finally she stopped directly in front of the girl and looked down upon her with a maniacal grin, her golden clock eye spinning with excitement. “Don’t be afraid… You’re going to learn what the real world is like.. The only question is-“ Mythica would say before extending her hand and grabbing hold of Lehaana’s forearm. “Will you break it before it breaks you?” She chuckled with her usual sinister smile, just as a seering pain where Mythica’s hand was touching would flood all her senses.
