Personality: Uriel is second noble born son of House Tyrae, a long-standing house of Ca-Elum that by tradition sends all of its sons to serve in the Queen's Royal Navy. While Uriel himself is no exception and is an entirely qualified and sea-loving sailor, he is not a sailor by trade. Instead, he has heard the clarion call of adventure, and therefore has come to distant Fiore to ply his trade of becoming an adventurer for hire. Coupled with a healthy breeding of noblesse oblige, and you have a recipe for a crusader who finds himself on the side of good, sworn to uphold chivalric concepts such as courtesy, dignity, filial piety, honour and justice.

Uriel self-describes himself as a man of a sense of humour, someone who tries to find joy in the simple things in life and in his doing the best for all peoples of all nations; while his family would beg him politely to place duty to the Queen above all, his feelings instruct him to place the service of the greater good before that of a single person or nation. This narrowing and hyper-focus of his worldview allows him (in his opinion) to be a better human being. In the wake of recent catastrophes, Uriel finds it more important to be a good person than simply a highly dutiful person. On the other hand, this makes him appear something of a pariah to both his family and his nation, but these are immaterial in the long term; he has the support of his family so long as he brings honour and glory to the Tyrae name.

Introspective, slow to anger, careful with his choice of words and cordially jovial, Uriel’s biggest fault - as far as he can see - is that he does not do more for the people around him, and that many see his thirst for adventure as a self-centred need that turns his back on the duty that he swore to his liege and his nation.

• The desert - the polar opposite of the ocean is the desert, therefore, by extension, it is too hot, too dry, and it’s coarse and rough and gets everywhere.

• Injustice - justice for all means justice for all, and Uriel is sworn to stamp such cruelty out.
