Job Title: Festering Hunger
Rank: B
Category: Normal
Job Location: Haunted Village
Solo Word Count: 2,500
Group Word Count: 5,000
Additional Requirements: N/A
Job Description: A job has appeared recently asking anyone available to investigate rumors of a wizard living in the Haunted Village. The whispers are that it's a child with the power of an A rank mage, and said child has gone through a small guild recently, all by herself, and caused mass genocide. Every single member aside one escapee was drained of every single drop of blood. For the sake of everyone, she has to be stopped! She kills indiscriminately like a serial killer. Her motives are unconfirmed, but it seems she might be a vampire. The taker of this job is encouraged to capture this girl and turn her over to the Rune Knights, if possible.
Thankfully, the rumors aren't completely accurate. While she is very small and frail, she's actually not a child, and thus can be dealt with with a clearer conscience. The tiny young woman was very sickly in life and was recently turned vampire to save her from an early demise. However, her bloodlust has completely taken over the sweet personality she once had and she can never be satisfied. The intense, never-ending hunger has driven the new immortal to madness! She tried to quarantine herself in the abandoned Haunted Village away from people before she lost the last of her senses, so you will notice that there is not a living soul there. The feeling you get though...there's bound to be non-living souls around, perhaps of those she leaves the village to feed on.
Enemies:
Whispers
Though they may seem a little bit annoying at first, no matter where they seem to be, you can't find any source of where those voices may be coming from. It's also a bit unnerving since there is no one you can see, yet there are voices. Creepy. Let the mind games begin.
Enemy Rank: Weak
Floating Sword
A single sword floats in the air. No matter where you look, there just so happens to be a sword in your way. It appears to be getting closer to you by the second as well. Is there someone holding it? Hope it doesn't do anything to you when it gets close to you. This seems to be an illusion.
Enemy Rank: Normal
Spears x30
A bunch of spears start raining from the sky, and unlike the sword that might have lulled you into a false sense of security, they are very real! Where they are coming from is something that can not be explained, but you should probably look for shelter or you'll take some B-Rank damage.
Enemy Rank: Strong
Bloodthirsty Vampire
You found her... Or did she find you? Whatever the case, you had best be ready for her, she is no longer hiding! She is an A rank mage with psychic magic that allows her to peek into the minds of her victims and manifest illusions that she can bring into reality if she concentrates hard enough. Whenever she casts a spell, it often involves memories of one's past. If she is able to break the user mentally, she will descend and attempt to feed for 2x A-Rank damage and cause the bitten to bleed for D-Rank damage once per post for 3 posts. When fighting with her, keep as much sanity as possible. She doesn't have much control of herself, so if her magic doesn't bring her a meal quickly, she'll go feral and begin teleporting and lunging around, desperately trying to clamp her jaws on a vein. It takes 12x B-Rank hits to successfully defeat the poor thing.
Enemy Rank: Boss
Reward: 40,000 jewel.
Salem couldn’t believe the bizarre story that he was currently being told by a few new arrivals to the town of Era. From the story and what Salem could gather about the group of three travelers standing in the front of him, they had all made leave from the famed Haunted village after being instructed not to. Just in the hopes that the group would reach the town of Era, the home of the Rune Knight headquarters for help. Ja a tall man who seemed to be only a few years older than Salem himself and dressed in basic clothes. Clothes that Salem could instantly tell had seen way better days than today. Especially with the cloak that Ja worn having many small wholes throughout it. Though Salem would take a quick glance at the other two with Ja and see that his cloak was probably the best of the three. Showing that all three of the members of this expedition had been through hardships, probably way before they even set out on their journey to Era.
Ja who seemed to be the leader or well the voice of the travelers in the eyes of Salem, would be the main one to do the speaking for the group of three. And the tale that he would proceed to tell the young Pendragon would be a strange and dark one indeed. Ja would proceed to inform Salem that the Haunted village had made a quest post for any mage in the area to handle a strange child that has appeared in the village, as she has already managed to wipe out a whole guild in the attempt to capture her, leaving only one survivor. Ja would then proceed to point to the smallest one of their group, a small Silver haired girl whose eyes showed she had seen the worst in this world. He would proceed to name her the sole survivor of her guild, a statement that Salem could see brought tears in the aquatic blue eyes of the girl.
“We need the help of the Magic Council Rune Knights”. Would be heard coming out of the third member of the group in a blurted-out voice as he fought his hardest to hold back the tears that Salem could see forming in his eyes. As Ja would once again find himself in control of his emotions and proceed to take over the groups speaking once again, as he proceeded to finally ask Salem if he would be willing to help them in saving their village as they had took notice he was a member of the Magic Council Rune Knights. Something that didn’t come as a complete surprise to Salem, since for once he was actually in his basic Rune Knight uniform as he made his stroll through the town of Era today as he normally did.
“I would be glad to give your village my assistance, though I must sadly inform you that I am only a Paige of the Rune Knights at this time, though I am more then sure that if I send word to the Magic Council, they will send backup as I go to check out the situation. I would just need a moment to send a message to the Rune Knight Headquarters.” From the moment Salem started to speak, he could instantly see the energy of the travelers start to rise. As the young Pendragons words brough the travelers from the Haunted village much hope, especially to the silver haired girl who was the lone survivor of her guild. As she would instantly proceed to thank Salem for his help. Once the group all finished thanking Salem, Ja would once again take lead and inform Salem of all the small details he needed, as well as the best way for him to get to the famed Haunted village.
Once Ja finished giving Salem al of the information that he needed, Salem would proceed to tell the group of a small tavern that they could all make their way to, and that he would cover the expenses for them all. After making good byes with the Haunted village travelers Salem would proceed to hold out his hand and bring forth one of his familiars that he would proceed to send off to the Rune Knight headquarters with a message of all the information he had just received as well as informing the Council that he would be making his departure to the haunted village and awaiting backup.
