Description:
Sometimes covert business and operations require a little intervention that goes beyond that of simple thievery, subterfuge, sabotage, stealth, and subversion. The art of killing in the most subtle way possible is regarded both as a form of art and a sophisticated skill that only the best of the best can acquire through careful training, incredible prowess as well as talent, and insightful intelligence that goes beyond the mere gathering of information. A substantial industry and culture have developed within the underworld centered around people who take up this profession, those same people being called "spies", "hitmen", "assassins", or sometimes simply referred to as "killers". Still, even among them, there were some that stood out for their inhuman abilities, one such man, whose name has already passed into legend and story, working from within the shadows to build himself a reputation of no equal among the intelligence operatives and infiltrators of the criminal underworld. It is said that he could move faster than any eye could see and effortlessly blend into the shadows, striking from anywhere with a swift and deadly accuracy that could kill in an instant. Still, some believe this to be entirely fiction, for a man that can kill anyone with a single blow sounds too out of this world to be true. Yet, others claim the man mysteriously vanished some 100 years ago, leaving behind no trace of his existence, making it hard to prove that the legends and stories surrounding the man are true. Who can truly say what is truth and what is a lie, though? Perhaps the man's legacy lives on, and perhaps another one could claim such fame as this legendary individual for oneself if one possessed his abilities.
Abilities:
✕ Legendary Killer ✕
The Legendary Assassin's skills were so respected among his peers that his talent has become the stuff of legend. Shadows seemed to cling to this man's form and act as a separate existence under his control, leaving many wondering what exactly it was that gave him his power. The user gains access to a new magic type called "Assassin", which can be used in the creation of magics. "Assassin" type magic grants the user access to "Caster" type spells, as well as "Requip" type, spells in any magic using the "Assassin" magic type. The benefit levels for "Assassin" type magic can be found below:
- Solitary: Character can have up to 5 Requip spells active at once. +200% to Movement Speed.
- Primary: Character can have up to 4 Requip spells active at once. + 150% to Movement Speed.
- Auxiliary: Character can have up to 3 Requip spells active at once. +100% to Movement Speed.
✕ Swiftness ✕
The master of these abilities was a man said to be able to move as fast as a shadow extinguishing a light, blending into the darkness with his unrivaled agility and sheer speed. The user gains a 200% increase to their Base Movement Speed as well as a 50% increase to their Spell Cost Reductions. Lastly, the user of this mythical technique gains a regular passive 300% buff to Movement Speed.
✕ Shadow's Power ✕
Shadow seemed to cling to the man who had obtained the power of the darkness that assassins seemed to rely upon to an almost obsessive degree, and his command of shadow was a thing most fearsome. The user's being is afflicted by darkness and shadow, so much so that their blood flows black instead of red. The user gains a 150% buff to their Base Spell Speed as well as a 150% buff to their base Spell Range. Lastly, the user gains access to either a 100% Base Spell Damage buff or a 100% Base Strength buff, depending on the way the shadows that cling to them integrate into their system. The user must specify which stat is chosen when this lineage is handed in for approval and note it down in the marked area below:
Stat chosen (Base increase to): Spell Damage
✕ Assassin's Armory ✕
Naturally, one's own abilities are not all an assassin should rely upon, as an assassin's armory of tools is almost as useful as one's own natural repertoire of skills and abilities to draw from. Sometimes, the former can even be used to reach the potential of the latter. The user not only gains 100% additional jewels from any completed job, they also gain a single additional H+ Rank advanced spell and a single additional S+ Rank advanced spell to every magic including the "Assassin" type they possess. Further, they also obtain a single additional Signature spell, which is equal to user rank and ranks up to S Rank, as well as 2 regular spell slots, which rank with the user up to S Rank, to every magic including the "Assassin" type they possess. If any of these additional spells are used to create a "Requip" type spell, the Requip in question gains an additional ability equal to spell rank.
✕ No Second Strike ✕
The Legendary Assassin was famous not only for his skill and his prowess but also for a fabled technique that was said to be able to finish any opponent in a single strike. Named "No Second Strike" by those that would talk about it, the technique itself would almost exceed the assassin's fame itself, the martial art as its core swiftly becoming part of mainstream teachings. The user can double the total maximum damage, range, and speed of a single spell or, if applicable, melee strike per post. This takes place after all modifying factors apply (Downsides and base increases) and regular buffs are factored in. Only one instance of damage dealt in a single post can benefit from this effect, meaning that DoT spells are not included in this increase (Only the initial damage of a DoT spell would be affected). Further, the strike in question (whether spell or melee hit) can pierce shields, armor, or barriers, sacrificing no damage in the process, and can not be countered by counter-effects, negated, reflected, or redirected in any way and cannot be consumed by slayers.
