Alright so as promised, here's what I have to say:
I'll be taking a long, looooong break from everything. This includes FTRP and my staff duties here, which, of course, means that I will be stepping down as an admin. This isn't due to any single individual or group, but rather, the reason lies with me and the changes that have been occurring in my life, which means that I want to end things, even if it is just for the time being, on a positive note.
I have spent countless hours here, hundreds, if not thousands. The friends I made here and the time I spent here really mean a lot to me, so much so that I can hardly put it in words, and even if it was really hard work, and even if there were times when I just wanted to leave it all behind, I never thought that I would actually be forced into a position where I had to do it. Not to get into too much detail about myself as a person and what I do, between the ever-increasing attention that my job and school seem to demand from me, paired with the limit to my free time resulting from that, I am forced to set priorities, and among the aforementioned things, my hobbies, and my life, FTRP, unfortunately, must lose out. Trust me when I say that I have pondered this for a long time and even now, pulling through with this decision is difficult, but I think what I need most of all right now is just time away. That's not to say that I will be gone forever or that we will never hear from each other again, but in this form and context, I will not be available on the forum for a while.
That said, a few parting words I wish to direct at the community here, in the spirit of everything that has happened on FTRP in the time I was here:
The most important thing of all - Please, for the love of god, cut staff some slack. We know and understand that you can get excited about some things, we are members of the site much the same as you are, after all, but please do not will yourselves into some kind of delusion where you, and only you and what you want, matter. This is a community and there are other things to consider than yourselves. In the spirit of the legacy I hope to leave behind on his forum, I sincerely wish that some of you perform a bit of introspection into what is and is not appropriate behavior for a social environment such as this one and the attitude you give to other people when you don't get what you want. Before you go ahead and chose a path of confrontation, please take a little bit of time to consider that the individual on the other end of the screen is a person just like you and whether there are alternative means of going about things.
That said, as I mentioned, I hope to leave behind a positive image and legacy, based on the heart and soul I have put into this website over a long time. My fellow members of staff, whether they are still present here or not, have constantly strived to make this place something that is worth all the attention it got, strived to make sure every single member of this community is given the chance to express themselves creatively, and, of course, strived to make sure everyone has a fun time roleplaying here. Please respect what I and the other members of staff have built, and please offer that same respect to @Saraphina in the coming future.
Finally, I feel like I must apologize to everyone I was posting and plotting with, especially the members of Dies Irae. I know it might feel sudden, but we have contemplated this for a while, and there is sadly little other option we could've taken. In the spirit of ending things on a high note, we chose the path we chose. I hope you can understand that and respect that decision. As for people I owe posts to: From the bottom of my heart, I am sincerely sorry. I did not expect that my life would change so much in such a short time, and my failure to adjust to these changes has probably caused you more than just a bit of frustration. The fault lies with no one but myself, but please know that I honestly wish you can experience and develop your plots and stories in an environment that allows you to do so to your heart's content, without having to wait months for replies.
With that, I don't really know what else to say. I think I said everything that was on my mind, so one last time, I sincerely and honestly wish all of you the best for the future. Thank you for your attention and your time.
If there is anything else, please contact me via discord at #Kebab2138 - I will be happy to chat or help if you need something.
