I will never ask for nothing that I won't give in return
You will never have to question the value of my words
    Amalie

It could almost be considered a respite, the task that awaited Amalie. After all, she would hardly consider this particular laborious, it was more tedious if anything. Alas, her dedication to Dies Irae was her reasoning for deciding to follow through with the task. It was her dedication that got her up every morning a little past the crack of dawn to train, and to also train any recruits that saw fit to join her. It was this commitment that had her scratching pen to paper for hours on end until her wrist ached, as she filled in form after form; assessing reports, reviewing jobs, and countless hours of research for the benefit of the guild. In all her life, she had never been so dedicated to anything, not the West Fiore Trading Company, nor her late husbands underground faction. They had been a means of survival, something she had simply endured to get by, a means to an end. But Dies Irae was different, it provided a sense of belonging that had previously been alien to the Articulation Mage.

The Commander stepped out of the carriage onto the misty grounds of Shirostume, her violently red guild uniform strikingly noticeable against the soft tones of the scenic streets that surrounded her.  Amalie's ice-blue irises looking around for her assigned soldiers, who had been instructed to meet her here at one o'clock sharp. They still had a few minutes until they were due to arrive, and she was fully ready to handle any tardiness if they dared not to arrive on time. If there was anything she'd noticed about the guild, was that the recruits albeit determined lacked discipline and field experience. Which was why she had assigned herself a little training escapade. A group of random guild members to tag along with her during one of the more milder jobs the guild was requested to do. The simple handling of a rather meddlesome pest. The most recent sightings of the menace that Dies Irae often found themselves a target in rich streets of Shirostume. Amalie pulled the handgun from her waste, inspecting the barrel of Goldbrand as she waited for her gaggle of Soldiers to arrive.

       Name: Benny Ceostra

       Site Rank: C

       Guild Rank: Soldier

Benny had actually taken some initiative with this particular venture, and made certain to arrive the day before, affording her the opportunity to get the lay of the land, so to speak, and do some light reconnaissance, as well as visit the hot spring, which was shallow enough not to trigger her aquaphobia. As the commander's coach pulled up, the bunny girl found herself resting against a tree near the roadside. Her uniform was slightly mismatched, a feminine top with pants from the male uniform, but she felt more comfortable wearing it, as opposed to a strictly female uniform. As the commander stepped out into the open air, Benny approached and saluted, waiting for the gesture to be returned to before dropping it. "It's a pleasure to be afforded the opportunity to work with you, Commander."

She was quite sincere in saying this, as she enjoyed working with the other women in the guild, and those of higher ranks gave her hope that she might one day achieve those same ranks. "The town itself seems quite peaceful, Ma'am. I might have to come back if I ever accrue enough leave." She was quite dedicated to the cause of her newfound guild, as they were willing to accept her as she was. "That reminds me, I had a chance to check out the hot springs, very relaxing. Any chance we could visit them together some time?"

Benny didn't want to test her luck too much, but she felt it might be good to get on the good sides of her superiors, and try her best to stay there. She had gotten a brief summary of the mission before her early departure, and she knew there would be others joining them, but she didn't know who just yet, and she was a bit bothered that part of the job was to bring back their quarry alive. "Ma'am, I don't mean to sound impudent, but why is it so important to bring this one back alive?"

A job with some real people sounded like a real fun thing at the time. Of course, anything new and exciting could be easily churned into a very confusing and agitating task, but oh well. She wasn’t gonna back away simply because some turn of events. Having to go and rendezvous with everyone at the town instead of in the guild hall seemed like a bigger pain for her in the long run. Oh well, it is what it is and frankly, meeting one of the other higher ups in the guild would probably prove beneficial, however not having Kalama along with her would be a little harder too. Not as much teamwork not having her along for the ride. But, making some new friends would be fun.

Still, being in Shirotsume for the job made things a little easier for her. Though the job wasn’t really required to bring a weapon, she needed to have some kind of assurance of a “just in case” for her own safety. One could only hope that she wasn’t going to need to use it, it was the only source of any magical abilities she had to her person. If using it was necessary, she could use things that could keep from hurting a target or protecting her fellow guild members if need be. It wasn’t much, but it was enough so that she could use it in more ways than to just hurt people, so that’s something good she was working towards.

It was definitely a good thing for her however that she was used to the outdoors. Being a farmers daughter had its benefits aside from having a nice barn to- well... store hay. Anyways, the cursed mage made her way towards the area she was to meet the commander whom recruited her for this task. Freshly dawned in her uniform with the cutest matching skirt to top she could muster of the uniform types, her hair tied up into a ponytail to keep from her face for this job, she was happily trotting through the town while humming into her leek shaped mouthguard and gazing over the place. Once she arrived, her eyes widened seeing a girl with bunny ears in the uniform aside from a very prominent and domineering figure that could only assume to be the commander. ”Normally, I would be really hoping she was a biter but... I think this time I’ll just behave...” She thought to herself, walking up to the pair and pulling the mouthguard from between her teeth momentarily, baring the fangs beneath as a full breath of air entered her mouth and lungs. ”Aoi Himawari, ma’am~” With a brief salute, she would pop the mouthguard back in before giving any other answer, unless it was ordered to speak. It was better she avoided long conversations anyway. Hopefully at least she understood the purpose.

Post by Nathaniel Stratford 11th March 2020, 9:38 pm

Nat had already been to Shirotsume before for a job as well. He knew how to get to town quickly, and did exactly that when he heard about an expedition, which was really lucky on Nat's part since he was invited for a meal by one of the families from town. He had arrived hours early and was happily waiting in one of the children's home whom he had saved from The Swollen Man about a month ago. He had his uniform neatly hanged nearby the door to avoid it from being folded or creased while he spent time with the children, catching up with them and generally having a good time over a wonderful meal with which he had contributed dessert.

Amidst the laughter and conversations, Nat heard a chariot pull up nearby and knew that it had to be their superior that would be supervising them on this trip. He politely said his farewells and headed for the door, put on his uniform carefully, and then headed out. On his way there, he thought of the details of their expedition which were admittedly not much

Already present were two other members of the guild with whom Nat will be teaming up. He initially thought that this many would be overkill but the more the merrier, he supposes. They were both girls wearing their uniforms with some minor alterations which would then make it easier to identify each one. One female had the female top but a male's pants paired with a set of bunny ears which he had to admit was cute, while the other had a very beautiful matching top and skirt uniform that he had not seen before. But his did not carry any alterations, he only had the standard male uniform he had picked out which was the glorious piece of armor he had laid eyes on for such a long time when he first saw it. He continued to walk slowly straight towards them and stopped just a few meters away from each one, a distance that he thought would be respectable not only to their leader but also to the others as well. He looked at each one and greeted them properly "Hello, everyone." but he didn't dare look upon the Commander for a very long time, he just glimpsed at her because he can't help but feel intimidated by her and the power he seemingly cannot fathom. But he had no choice he had to look at her straight in the eyes, making sure that he'd only look at her eyes, not daring to look anywhere else lest he be thought to be some kind of pervert before continuing. "Nathaniel Stratford, reporting." in such a calm and professional tone, trying to get on the good side of everyone, letting them know that they can rely on him.

While Shirotsume was a resort town, it did have its fair share of gym as well for the exercise freaks. It was especially relaxing after running through an entire workout routine and then end it with a soothing dip in the hot springs of the town, but for Izou, the hot springs wasn’t on his itinerary. The man had been in town for three days, having picked up a job to track down a voyeur who was having the time of his life sneaking and peeking into the hot springs. Undoubtedly earning the ire of the resorts and their clients, they had collectively set up a request for a mage to apprehend the closet pervert.

Izou had taken up their request but the difficulty of the task had been slightly high. With so many resorts offering hot springs in Shirotsume, and barely a lead for him to work on, the knight errant had exhausted himself running from resort to resort to locate the voyeur. The only part that he enjoyed was the combat that had ensued after successfully pinning down the perp. The man, a mage in his fifties, was unexpectedly agile for his age and used Hair Magic in the most violent of ways. When he thought back to it, Izou could still vividly remember the piercing ability of the mage’s hair when it materialized as spikes.

Once he was done, the knight errant had quickly made his way towards where the Commander had directed them to rendezvous. When he turned a junction, Izou could see the horse carriage that had brought Commander West to the meeting point. 3 other Dies Irae members, all dressed in their uniforms, were standing at attention in front of Amalie, whose expression was stern and composed.

Running through the number of soldiers that had been signed up for the job, Izou realized that he wasn’t the last one to arrive and he sped up his pace, so as not to let the last soldier to suddenly appear and cut in line. As usual, the young man was dressed in a pair of dark blue jeans, a pair of sneakers mostly black and a white T-shirt. Over the white T-shirt was a red and white hoodie, zipped up halfway. As he quickly closed the distance between himself and the group, Izou cast his Requip spell, swapping his casual attire for his red armor.

His footsteps, initially silent, grew louder in the armor as he neared the commander and the other soldiers. His pace was quick until he slowed down once more, and quickly took his place beside the only other male in the group.

“Commander West,” Izou greeted the steely woman as he stood in line. Thankfully, he wasn’t the latest.

Walking down the cobblestone paths of Shirotsume was a man who was always smiling brightly. His stride was familiar, and his demeanor was full of comfort. It was clear that he and Shirotsume were no strangers, recognizing fences and buildings as he passed them. But that was only expected of a vagrant of eight years. Visiting almost every town in Fiore would eventually happen with Nico's sort of lifestyle. But, after joining the ranks of Dies Irae, his life as a vagrant came to a fixed end. While he would often go from place to place solving problems and helping clients, today was much different from what he was familiar with.

As he walked, he began to approach a line of regally-outfitted men and women. Including himself, it was three men and three women congregating on this road. Needless to say, they were his comrades from Dies Irae, and they were all similarly dressed despite the small differences in their uniforms. Even Nico's uniform wasn't particularly unique, and strapped to his back was a large battle-axe made of ice, but he was otherwise free of other equipment. Not that he minded at all, after all, wearing any sort of symbol from Dies Irae was an honor to him.

Noticing the silence between the four other soldiers, Nico decided to abstain of greetings and chit-chat. Instead, inserting himself at the end of the line, he looked down and grinned at all of them. But, turning his head to face forward, there was one person he simply couldn't conceal his zeal from.

Standing in front of them was Commander West—or Amalie West if formalities were abandoned—and the moment his marmalade eyes floated on her, his entire complexion lit up. Light filled his eyes and his cheeks began to blush. Although she was undoubtedly beautiful, it was not her features that he was gawking at. In fact, it was her very presence that seized his awe.

Commander West! Man, this is insane! Nico thought to himself, careful to not vocalize his praise. God, she must be so STRONG! Stronger than Ms. Sivvy?! Eh—wait—that's not right. Can't be! Ms. Sivvy is—no, no, no! No distraction!

Before Nico could find himself lost in his train of thought, a sunny grin plastered across his face. The effervescence in his countenance was clear, and his cheerful atmosphere was contagious. "Nico Dixon, ma'am!" Nico announced, giving a brief and yet incredibly animated and passionate salute.

I can't believe this is happening! So fucking cool, man!

I will never ask for nothing that I won't give in return
You will never have to question the value of my words
    Amalie

It was fortunate for the Commander's patience that she didn't have to wait long for the arrival of the Dies Irae members. As one by one, they made their appearance, the first of which was one Amalie hadn't had the opportunity to interact with before. Although she recognised her from her profile, Amalie nodded as she greeted her. The woman quickly divulged in to talk about the town, describing it's peaceful nature before suggesting they visit the spa's together. Amalie, who was not one for receiving personal invites to events narrowed her eyes slightly. "I prefer to enjoy spa's alone." She remarked dismissively, not so much trying to be rude but more upfront. For a start, the only people she would ever consider going to a spa with was Sivvy or Johann and at a lengthy push maybe her cousin, Nessa, although that sounded more tiresome than relaxing. Then there was a fact that they had just met, being a guildmember wasn't enough to warrant the Articulation mage's trust. Also, she really did like to go to spa's, so that wasn't a lie.

The next question she would ask was an interesting one; A query that actually brought the hint of a smirk to the cold woman's lips. "Let's wait until the other's arrive before I answer that one." She told her in a polite tone, following which the next individual would arrive. A dark-haired girl wearing a mouthguard, who confirmed herself to be 'Aoi Himawari'. Amalie's eyes fell to the mouthguard, momentarily wondering about its purpose, before drawing her attention to the next arrival. The next one she recognised, although she wasn't especially familiar with him, he had been present during the mission on Kenrojima, she knew him as a mentee to Sivvy. Following him was her own mentee, one of the more promising member of Dies Irae that during her initiations of new members. As he greeted her, she would acknowledge him by repeating his name, "Izou." She replied, before glancing around the group, and finally there was one more that walked over to the group. The other mentee of the pink-haired Ambassador, who saluted her rather vigorously as he introduced himself as 'Nico Dixon'.

Now that everyone was here, it seemed fruitless to delay things any longer. She would begin to talk, her tone firm as she addressed the collective. "Thank you for coming today, as you might be aware, I am Commander West and I'll be leading you on today's expedition. Before we begin I will say, I expect all of you to proceed with the acceptable level of dignity and honour that is required of a Dies Irae Soldier. No matter how... unorthodox today's task may seem, remember that you are the representatives of our guild and your actions will reflect  upon it's reputation." It was brief but for a moment her lips curled into a small smirk, and a devilish glint flickered over her ice-blue irises. Fully aware of the absurdity she was dragging them into.

"Before the rest of you arrived, an important question was brought up by Ceostra here. Asking why we're assigned to bring the target alive, the answer to which is simple. Despite the fact, we have been authorised to eradicate dark mages and criminals should the situation require us to do so. This is not something that we enact senselessly, the target we're hunting today is little more than a pest, his actions, albeit troublesome do not warrant death. Please remember this when going forward as a Dies Irae mage; we do not kill unless we absolutely have to. That being said, anyone who attempts to kill him, will have to deal with me." She turned on her heel sharply and with her hand indicated that they follow her as she began to move deeper into town. Guiding them towards the hostel in which the individual was suspected to be hiding.

"Now then, the target today isn't an especially strong individual, but his skills of evasion are beyond compare. He has escaped capture on over fifty occasions, and even when he is captured, he often finds a way to slip out of his confines and break free. He escaped the cell he was locked in two weeks ago and has quickly returned to his frustrating behaviour. He is but a public menace, a lecherous bother to society. What I expect from you today, is to succeed in his capture. However, I will advise that you do not underestimate him, work together and you might just succeed in the task. Jump in hastily and I can guarantee that he will make a fool of you." She advised earnestly, having seen upon many occasions just how humiliating things could get for those who underestimated 'The Cringe'. As they arrived at the hostel, she turned back to the group, eying them with a stoic expression. "Any questions before we begin?"

Izou looked at the latest newcomer, grinning slightly when he recognized him as the enthusiastic kid he had met during the Christmas carnival a few months back. When it seemed like everyone that needed to be here was all present, the Commander finally started the briefing about their mission. The knight errant smiled slightly when he heard the opening to Amalie’s briefing, the part where every one of their actions would reflect on themselves and their guild. For a knight errant that had been following his own rules, Izou was still adapting to a formal and rule-bound work ethic.

Even attire-wise, it was already a stretch for him to constantly be in his red armor as he wasn’t inclined to wear the Dies Irae’s restrictive uniform. But the devilish grin that he saw on Amalie was one of mischief. The knight errant shook his head, not knowing what they were going to have to do for this mission.

As she spoke, she led them deeper into the town. They walked past a few blocks until they were finally in front of a hostel. It was slightly rundown, no doubt having seen plenty of weird and fascinating in its years of operation. Izou looked around the team, wondering if there was anyone who would have any questions.

As he stood there waiting, the knight errant began studying the hostel. He assumed it would be a standard raid. A five-man team working together would allow for one soldier to guard the back entrance, one soldier to guard the front entrance, one soldier on a higher vantage point to get an overall view of the building should the perpetrator decide to jump out a window while the remaining two would sweep the rooms one by one to flush the perpetrator out.

When the question time was over, Izou put out his plan, wanting to know the opinions of the others.

“I have a plan in mind. A rather simple one. We have five here. One will take the back entrance, one for the front entrance, one on the adjacent building to keep a lookout while the other two would sweep the whole place room by room. Any opinions to share?”

Others arrived shortly after Nat. Two to be exact, and they seem to have a certain degree of familiarity with Commander West: the name the cool-looking woman introduced herself as, along with a few certain reminders, all of which are expectedly inherently among them as members of Dies Irae. Admittedly, it was not at the top of the priority list of things Nat was supposed to listen to from the esteemed Commander because he was a disciplined soldier, he knew how to act, simply giving the  they came onto the more juicier details of their assignment, in regards to their query as of the very moment. However, he cannot believe what he is hearing. That they were to bring this so-called criminal in alive. A phrase that would have struck a nerve in Nat that he chose and tried to hide because he cannot afford to burst with frustrations as of the moment, and wouldn’t dare make a scene in front of everyone present. He joined Dies Irae because he thought he belonged with them, with his personal crusade aligning with their own philosophies of eradicating evil, but it appears theirs is a bit lax when dealing with small criminals such as this. To Nat however, evil in no matter shape, or form must be vanquished, and there will be no exclusions. So in the meantime, he was thinking of ways on how to enact his own code, his own crusade and get away with it, marking this the very first time he would defy the wishes of authority, and a very powerful authority at that.

He continued to listen however, as it is the respectable thing to do, signifying that despite his personal feelings, he can still have manners, especially when Commander West mentioned that this individual’s actions does not warrant death. But in Nat’s mind, this individual’s zeal in his pursuit of evil allows him to do such things, and all he lacks is power. Zeal in itself is dangerous, as power or strength can easily be compensated. The paragraph ended with a warning of dealing with her personally if her orders were disobeyed, a phrase that Nat simply lowered his head to, his eyes flared with determination while he stood there in attention and professionalism at a rather respectable distance among his fellow guild members. It appears, he will not be swayed from what he plans to do, not yet at least.

After that short briefing, they were led deeper into town, parts of which Nat had not seen from his last visit. The place they were directed to was an old hostel, which looked humble and cozy, sitting at a street corner. It was here that further details would be said regarding the target and from what he is hearing, they should’ve put him down a long time ago with how much he’s been getting out of prison, and having the need to send out at least five mages to go after him and move on to, as they would put it, far dangerous threats. They were then asked if there were any further questions, to which Nat replied “None.” sternly.

One of his guildmates then suggested a plan, and a rather brilliant plan at that, with using their numbers against the target. However, Nat was concerned with the amount of ruckus it would cause because of all this waiting around, standing in their uniforms. “He’s certainly going to catch on and run away.” He said seriously but as softly as only the members could hear him as he rubbed his chin. “For all we know, he could very well be looking at us right now and see a group of uniformed Dies Irae mages. We need to find a way to look inconspicuous.” he continued as he looked around, finding a thrift store just in the next block. “Will any of you wanna change before we continue?” He asked as he pointed to the store in the distance.

A briefing from Commander West?! So frickin' cool, man! Nico thought to himself, fawning over their solemn gathering. Unlike his colleagues, Nico was distinctly vivacious and enthusiastic in both mind and matter. He was the type to be everyone's cheerleader in all things needing support and would go the extra mile if he was asked to take a step in someone else's shoes. He was always like this, and the only challenge many had faced with his bubbly, happy self was tolerating his exuberance. Nico was like a puppy, as some might say.

The Commander led the group deeper into the rough and deep terrain of Shirotsume, debriefing them on their mission. They stopped in front of a rundown hostel, which was oddly fitting for someone like The Cringe. If Nico were a creepy, troublesome ne'er-do-well of society, he wouldn't put it past himself to take refuge in a place like this.

"No ma'am!" Nico responded, smiling jubilantly as the Commander finished addressing them. After that, they were left to their own devices, and it was Izou who started the conversation. His explained his plan, and not only was it simple and basic, but it was surely effective enough. Nathaniel, on the other hand, was beginning to worry about their overt investigation. Contrary to both of them, however, Nico thought in a straight line.

"Ehhh? I'd change but, do we have to do all of that?" Nico placed a hand on Nathaniel's shoulder, smiling toothily at him, "Commander West said he's evasive, but he's only one man, and Izou here has a really good plan! We've got this in the bag, hehe!" After his encouraging words, Nico took it upon himself to be the first to enter the front doors of the hostel. As he approached it, he removed Gelu Morsus from the sheath on his back, readying himself should the Cringe lunge out at him when he opened the doors.

His callused hands pushed the door open, revealing a sweep of darkness within. Nico's smile didn't disappear, peeking inside and then back at the four others, giving them a thumbs-up. "I can go inside, ya know!"

There was not a word leaving the brunette’s already covered mouth as the rest of the squadding group had arrived onto the scene. One by one, some much more handsome than others, her eyes were mainly fixated towards the soldier known as Izou. Though honestly, it was hard to keep her eyes on the task at hand with three really.. really handsome men like this around her, she had no problem doing so with the commander in charge sitting up front with the voice of authority booming to the group before her. Though tempted for sure to go through with her old antics for sure, she truly truly wanted to at least feel maybe or or two of these well toned men’s muscles at least once. Well, maybe once out of commander West’s line of sight she might indulge just once. She wouldn’t try too hard or too often, perhaps on the way back at least.

One at a time, each of these delicious looking beefcakes had come around with their own plans. First, Izou’s plan of trying to block out all of the targets escape routes in order to choke him into one position. The plan she had begun to plot in her own head was at least similar in fashion to that of Izou’s, but she wasn’t going to voice in her own plan just yet. She needed to get together her words precise to lessen the time she spent without this thing in her mouth. Next up, the blonde astute male had begun. His mention that the group may currently be watched admittedly got Aoi to look around, wondering just in case they should be doing such a thing, but she quickly returned it to the commander at the suggestion of some changing their attire to appear less conspicuous to him. Admittedly, it was a good idea, however in some ways the plans could be combined and her mind had been churning them out.

Lastly began Nico. He was probably the more.. adventurous of them. Sure, it wasn’t like the farm girl to be the same in some ways, but never when something like this was going on. She remained relaxed and content between these grand men in the meantime, albeit ready to latch her arms around one like a love struck teen with their loved one. However, she had promised herself to behave during this and frankly it was killing her right now. Now with Nico, he had taken out his sword of all things and opened the door of a building. As if he expected a jack-in-the-box sort of effect to appear from the other side of the door, if for some reason he was right, he would be much more cunning than she gave him credit for on first appearance. Her gaze caught onto him for another moment or two before she had snapped back and reached inside her uniform top.

In the same form as some would reach inside for an inside pocket, she did the same. And with that, she brought up a coil of rope and tossed it up lightly in her hand a couple times. Taking her mouthguard out, she would just hold it up a little bit now rather than continuing the act of tossing it up and catching it. ”Y’all got some good ideas. But say we done get this cringe person between us. Then what? See, if some stay in uniform, we could flush him into a corner and I can hog tie the son bitch. I got plenty experience wrastlin’ down slippery pigs in my days. I ain’t afraid a goin’ back again.” And yes, there normally was always a coil of rope hidden in her uniform top whenever a job would call for bringing back someone alive. Why that? Well, Aoi is just that prepared.

Benny had considered the various methods that her compatriots had suggested from the more tactical to the more rough and tumble. They all had one problem, which was that they involved the guild members going after the individual in question. Benny, on the other hand, had a plan that she saw as more functional, as it was one that while one or two others may have thought of, they were probably less likely to suggest due to it being less than tasteful. "Well, those are all great if you're going after a violent criminal, or a drug dealer. But this isn't the case. As the commander said, he's not a criminal really, just a guy that tends to creep people out. Which is why I'm going to go change into something a little more alluring."

Stepping away from the group, Benny entered the restroom and peeled out of her uniform, revealing the bunny suit that she wore underneath, and placing said uniform in a bag which she placed near the entryway after exiting said restroom, just before returning to the group. "Now then, I don't want any cat calls from you guys while I'm doing this." She hesitated before winking at the commander and Aoi in turn before she asked a single question. "That reminds me, do we happen to know which room he is staying in? My idea is to go in there alone, pretending to be....." she made a sound of utter disgust before continuing. "...a stripper, and paralyze him after he opens the door. And before you judge me too much, I already don't like this plan, but it's probably the least likely to get someone injured."

I will never ask for nothing that I won't give in return
You will never have to question the value of my words
    Amalie

As the group shifted into planning their strategy for handling 'The Cringe', Amalie would step back, giving them the room to discuss their ideas. Albeit standing close enough to listen in and assess their plan, she would enjoy hearing the deliberation knowing full well that what they were anticipating from their target was much more serious than the actuality of the task at hand. Amalie had handled him before and as an opponent, he was a bit of a joke, but he made for an excellent training exercise. Izou would begin by suggesting covering different angles and having two of them go from room to room to try and pin him. Not a bad strategy in itself, but she knew from experience that covering sides wouldn't be enough to capture him. The plan needed more depth.

Sivvy's first mentee, Stratford would then suggest disguises, Amalie kept her expression neutral, not reacting in the slightest. She didn't want to give anything away that might affect the way they handled things. Sivvy's second mentee, Dixon would question the necessity of getting changed, a sentiment she herself agreed with. The Cringe didn't care about who you were, Dies Irae mage or not, anyone trying to nab him he could slip past, uniform or not. When Himawari spoke, Amalie blinked, resisting the urge to comment. Staying out of it proving harder than she initially anticipated.

Finally, Ceostra would suggest her own idea, which caused Amalie to arch a brow. Disappearing for a moment in a restroom, she would return in a bunny suit, fitting really considering her ears. This was perhaps the most well-founded suggestion of the group, knowing the Cringe was a pervert and playing into his creepiness was an effective means of luring him out. Amalie had used a similar tactic on him in the past which had been especially effective, although she had forgone a bunny suit and gone with something a little more... leathery. Her face remained blank and unmoving as Ceostra winked at her, requesting no catcalls from them. Ah well, she had almost been impressed, so much for that. It was at this point that whilst they were talking Amalie would slip away. Whispering an enchantment softly under her breath, she would transform into shadow, she would slip away without a word, leaving the recruits to digress.

Meanwhile, in the hostel bathroom, a sweat sac of a creature lurked in the stall of the ladies toilets. He was a short, lumpy man, with hair slicked back over his beck and a face that was mostly beard. He was dressed in a long black trench-coat, underneath which he sported a plain shirt with the saying 'I GOT A DIG BICK' in big letters, followed by 'you that read wrong, you read that wrong too' underneath. He was also wearing some pale, cream baggy combat trousers, and a loosely buckled belt that would barely restrain his overhanging gut. The look finished with cheap brown boots and a black fedora. Sweat dripped down his forehead as he pressed himself against the wall of the stall, balancing himself on the toilet seat. He attempted to peer over the top at the woman who had just entered the stall next to his, his breathing becoming huskier as he watched her unzip her jeans, one of her chubby hands working away at his own belt. The woman paused, freezing as she heard his movements, she would look around before glancing up. Her widened eyes meeting his beady little gaze, she would release an ear-piercing shriek. The Cringe would jolt where he stood, slipping so forceful that one of his feet would glide off of the toilet seat, falling into the bowl of the toilet and drenching itself in bog-water. He would grumble a curse under his breath, hopping down he yanked his leg out, attempting to shake the excess water from his leg. All the while the woman ran out of the toilet as fast as she could, shrieking for anyone who could help her.

The deliberation continued on for quite some time with everyone presenting very helpful ideas, giving some insight as to the kind of attitude Nat's comrades have as he stood there quietly, nodding his head as he looked politely at each person who would speak. He gave an awkward smile however to when it was Nico's turn, especially when he touched him by the shoulder and seemingly charged in towards a relatively unknown opponent.

Then when Benny came forth with her plan by dressing up as a seductive lady in a bunny outfit, Nat gasped and quickly looked away, he wouldn't dare make it uncomfortable for a lady he had just met literally minutes ago and just held up an ok sign towards her direction. Yes indeed these were all good plans and he was really deep in thought as to how they should go on about this. Personally however, he didn't like the idea of using a woman as some sort of bait, but all that thinking had to come to an end when a woman from inside the building screamed.

Nat quickly rushed forward, looking at the building and the spot where the scream might be coming from, his jaw was dropped, and quickly turned to a grin accompanied by fierce eyes, there wasn't enough time, The Cringe has struck.

"Looks like our time to plan is over, but we can't spook him than he already is." he said as his brain quickly prioritized The Cringe's death, but with no plan, he thought to just use everyone's plan. He turned to Benny but still couldn't look at her, turning his face away and covering the line of sight between him and her with his hand "Miss Benny, I personally do not like this idea, but you are somewhat confident of your actions then I think we must push through, go in and try to see what happened, have Nico follow closely behind since he's already inside. Try as hard as you can to lure him out to the front, we'll wait here." he said, pointing down to the ground he was standing on as he said "here" and then looked at Aoi "Miss Aoi, once he's out, get ready to hog tie this son bitch. Here, this'll help you get faster, hopefully enough to catch him." he remarked as he held out his hand and snapped his fingers, instantly making a piece of cheesecake appear for her to enjoy. "Izou and I will help." he added as he drew out his blade and readied himself, glowing light slightly that it wasn't flashy nor blinding. "If there would be additions, please tell us now as you do them, I'm afraid we don't have much time, The Cringe has made a new victim, who know what he's doing to her." he said angrily, as he begun to imagine the horrors he making the poor woman experience. Not only that, he really doesn't expect things to go the way he wanted there were still so many unknown variables to catching this plague of society. He wasn't even able to notice that their Commander was already gone due to the spur of the moment.

Benny's heart started racing when she realized that the restroom that the screaming woman had run out of had also been the very location where she had changed into her bunny suit. Had the person they were after seen her? She turned every possible shade of red as she marched toward the restroom. However, before entering, she stopped and remembered to compose herself. There was still a chance that they could pull this off. She just needed to do her best to bait the target into getting close enough for her to shock him. It wasn't a perfect situation, but very few situations were.

She simply needed to make the best of this one. She strode into the restroom rather confidently, taking note of the state of the target. She had been advised by the Commander that this was a no-kill job. As such, she had to restrain her urge to hit this creep with everything she had. Instead, she leaned forward, just enough to give him a good view before speaking in a rather sultry tone. "Tell me, big boy, would you be able to help me with something?"

"Or perhaps I should be asking if there is something I could help you with." If he responded positively to her baiting him, and was tempted enough to bring him withing striking range, Benny would do so quickly. If not, however, then she might have to try a few more lines, or possibly do something she might regret. These possibilities had crossed her mind rapidly as soon as she had come up with her initial plan. The environment may have changed slightly, but she still believed her plan to be a good one. After all, it was the only plan that didn't involve much of a chance to scare or startle the target.

Not expecting everyone to accept his plan right off the bat, Izou smiled slightly when they began to chime in with their opinions, some making slight changes to the plan while some brought on very drastic and unexpected tactics. Having always assumed the role of a leader for most of his life, Izou was rather surprised that this crew of ragtag soldiers had it in them. He allowed them to speak, folding his arms across his chest as he shifted his weight to his left foot. The discussion drew on for quite some time, with even one particular member having run off to change into a seductive outfit while she had blatantly shown disgust at her own suggestion.

The knight errant kept a neutral expression, especially when he stepped back slightly from the group and noticed that his mentor had already taken her leave. The discussion had digressed at that point, with everyone running off to do whatever they wanted before Nathaniel pulled them back into focus and began barking out orders for them to follow. From what he could see, the soldier had a leader’s charisma within him as well, on top of his coordinated thinking. Izou nodded in response to Nathaniel’s request of him.

Flames rippled down from his shoulder towards his right hand, before flaring backwards into the form of feathers and flattening themselves down against his arm. The flaming feathers formed a long blade-like extension that shot past his elbow with half the length of his forearm when they were flattened, giving Izou a peculiar appearance. As the rest of the members charged into the motel, Izou played around with a feather of flame made solid, tossing it up and down in the air.

“So, Nathaniel, you were a leader of a squad where you came from? Good work getting these people to work as a team,” Izou commended as he looked at the other soldier. They were waiting for the team to flush the pervert out of the motel, and that would be when Aoi, Nathaniel and himself would pounce on him, albeit without lethal force.

Standing at the building's doorway was still Nico, the unit's more headstrong soldier, who was slowly shifting his way into the space after verifying it was clear. There was no "cringe" in sight, as far as he could tell, and the rest of his teammates were still deliberating their plan of action behind him. At that rate, they'd be discussing it all day before anything got done, but to their credit, they were leagues more prepared then Nico was. And sure enough, they really did take up until the very last second when the terrified shriek of a woman could be heard from within the building.

Nico suddenly perked up when the scream scraped against his eardrums like nails on a chalkboard, running into the building with an attentive, serious look on his face. It was an expression of a man ready to fight, and judging by the way his large hands clamped on the axe's shaft, the way his feet sunk into the floorboards with every step, and how his eyes widened like an owl's, it was certain to say that the moment he stopped moving is when he planned to plant his icy blade into that filth's skull. Or, so he believed.

Bursting out of the women's bathroom doors was a woman who looked no older than twenty-five, rushing out with a horrified look on her face. When his marmalade eyes fixed on her, Nico came to a quick and careful stop.

"Dear God, help me!" shouted the woman, stopping in front of Nico with that horror frozen on her face. It was as if she were running away from a serial killer.

"Are you okay, ma'am?!" Nico replied in his usual loud, unintentionally theatrical voice.

"There's... there's a pervert in there! I know it! That freak saw me... he saw me...!" she turned a ghostly white color as she recalled the event.

Nico nodded, pointing to the entrance he himself had just sprinted from. "Right over there, ma'am! We'll deal with this ASAP! Promise!"

With that, the brunette continued his sprint to the bathroom with even more drive than before, when, suddenly, he saw yet another woman come into view. However, not only was she going inside of the bathroom in a suggestive outfit, but it was none other than Ms. Benny Ceostra! Although Nico had missed a large portion of the deliberations, he was aware of the mention of changing outfits. He knew what she was going to do, and he was determined to back her up.

As such, instead of rushing in with her, he stopped and planted his back square against the exterior bathroom wall, waiting on the outside. His head rested next to the doorway as he held his axe in hand, ready for anything or anyone to slip past his comrade. The young man was far from being a leader, considering he had trouble controlling his own impulse, but he was a hell of a supporter. Even if the costumes weren't what he had in mind, a win for one of them was a win for all of them. So, the now solemn and focused Nico waited quietly outside for whatever may happen.

    You got this, Ms. Ceostra!

Post by Aoi 31st July 2020, 11:46 am

With everything going on in the discussions as it had been commencing, Aoi could tell she was in a need to hurry things along. The longer this whole discussion dragged along, the more she could feel her breathing becoming more labored and with that was ultimately her first signs of the curse beginning to act up. It felt like being in a sauna room and breathing in more of the heated, humid air than it was trying to breath in normal amounts of air and frankly it was hard to hide the signs as well. This also did end up making her much more anxious to come to an agreement than it was to argue points from trying to keep herself more under control than she normally was. It was surely a hinderance than it was anything else, but it kept any stubbornness from interfering in her ideas of listening to others, so there was some good with the bad. It also kept flirting comments to a low, so there was that too.

Unopposed rp allowing someone else to take the helm of ideas, the brunette just fixed in her mouthguard and then released a heavy sigh of relief through her nostrils. It was such a hated thing to deal with, but necessary. How much longer was the true question for her. Now that the country bumpkin was silenced and redirecting her attention towards the rest of the group, she could see Benny appear from a dressing room in a playboy bunny outfit. She simply blinked. Partly unamused and the other being curious as to her plans to lure him out like an otaku to a fresh new body pillow or a middle aged woman to a romance novel with a half naked guy on the cover. It’s bound to work, but only to specific demographics. Whatever, it was worth a try. Giving a shrug to it, her attention turned to the others. It wasn’t so hard to avoid her normal routines with her head snapping back every so often in her memories, so it did help keep herself on track.

A scream would interrupt any further planning. It didn’t seem like any full set plan could be done, however Nathaniel did have it in his head how he wanted it to go. Frankly, didn’t seem so bad of an idea. More reliant on Aoi’s hogtying concept was a bit of an uplifter for her, though she would need to put in the work for sure. Though what didn’t seem to catch her attention at first was his offer of something to her. Was he casting some kind of magic buff on her? The snap of his fingers said yes, but... the cheesecake said no. Her head tilted to one side and an imaginary question mark would pop up above her head. Then she thought about it. ”Magical baker? Well... hopefully it’ll be good.” She thought to herself, since she couldn’t very well speak up. Pulling the mouthguard down around her neck, she would take the cake and toss the rather bite sized piece into her mouth. Then there was a zing. The best way for her to describe it really, but she had felt some sort of magical essence from it. ”I’ll do my best.” She assured him, popping the bamboo object in once more.

She would shoot off at a speed she had personally never thought possible rounding the first couple of corners proved hard, smacking into the wall. She shook it off continued moving along faster than ever for her until she would catch up with the fleeing cringe... and that he was! In the momentum of her run, she thought to take the very most barbaric but logical option and tackle him. Even when she did that, she had not been able to make the clean tackle as she had albeit slid off while trying to maintain the tackle. Ultimately, he would attempt to run again and she would try for the next best thing. Pulling all of her stops, she took in one deep breath and exhaled in a moderate pace. The muscles in her arms would all begin to feel enhanced, pushed much beyond their limits. Now with her strength enhanced and her speed already done, she would make for one other attempt at him. This time trying to take him out from the legs, Aoi would aim specifically for the back of his knees, hopefully aiming for the hit. Should she get the hit, she would begin to take her rope to his ankles and make a few rounds of cooling rope and tightening it enough to bite deep into his ankles and keep him from being able to escape long enough for the others to go for his arms to hold them down until she was ready to go, but that had depended on them as well as it did her own abilities.

The Cringe wasn't a particularly big fan of confrontation, but he through enjoyed the possibility of getting up close and personal with others. The pesty faction that was Dies Irae was always both a bane and a pleasure for him to have to deal with. Especially their soldiers of a female persuasion, women athletes were just so scrumptious, having their hands all over him as they attempt to grapple his moist body was always a favourable delight. He hopped down from the toilet seat, giving his moistened leg a little shake. Grumbling complaints of mild displeasure as he made his way out of the toilet stall. Not only did he now have soiled trousers, it wasn't even the good kind of soiling. Foolishly his target had caught him watching before he could even catch sight of anything good. He had needs that required seeing to, and it seemed that this woman's toilet wasn't going to do it. He had just about been adjusting his belt when a rather surprising sight entered the bathroom before he could duck away into one of the stalls.

His black beady eyes widened into saucers, so surprised that his lids stretched back over his sclera's to an almost excessive proportion. The excitement tenting his corduroy pants, indictive of his immediate reaction to the bunny girl. Was this a dream? Did he fall out of the toilet and hit his head on the way down? Or was she really offering what he believed she was? His fingers wiggled at his side, his predatory gaze raking over her body. Unable to help himself, the special gift of being able to become excessively moist that he had been bestowed with was already beginning to activate itself, his clothes began to grow incredibly damp all of a sudden as perspiration began to secrete from his every pore.

"Heh heh heh," He chuckled, pausing unnecessarily between each creepy laugh, his voice was deep but not in a pleasant way. He would reach up, tipping his fedora at the woman, who in his head he was already married to. "Greeting Milady," He drawled, "Might I say you are looking especially... delicious." He would buck his hips during the pause between his words, shimmying ever so slightly closer to the woman. There was a sudden movement that caught his eyes and eliciting a noise much like a squealing piggy. His body would erupt in moisture, causing the incoming woman to glide off of him. With a greatly offended expression, he turned his gaze back to his bunny waifu, he would point his stubby finger accusingly at her. "A trap! You betrayed me, wench. How could you, I thought you loved me," He choked dramatically, his clothes dampening to soggy proportions, although more appeared to be happening to the fabric. The wetter they got, the more frayed his clothes would appear.  The other woman who launched herself at him, rope in hand would dive for his legs, attempting to rope his legs in. She would very nearly succeed. He could feel the rope tightening around his ankles, threatening to capture the mighty Cringe.

    Close, but not quite.

With a great thrust of his body, he would shoot upward, peeling out of his binds as well as his trousers, which were still held fast by the binds the woman who had attempted to capture him. Hopping to his feet, the Cringe offered the woman a rather unflattering wiggle of his bottom, before rushing out of the bathroom stall. His itty bitty extremities jiggling excitedly as he skipped away at surprising speed. "Nice try, Dies Irae. But your measly tricks are no match for me! Heh heh heh!" He chuckled teasingly, attempting to dart away from the others before they could close in on him.

All the while this occurred, Amalie watched from the shadows. Unseen. Of course, she had expected this, the Cringe as disgusting as he was had incredibly good instincts for escape. Although she was hopeful, this team seemed to work well together and it didn't seem like she would need to intervene, at least, not yet.

Post by Nathaniel Stratford 31st August 2020, 12:04 am

The two warriors stood at the ready at the door. Nat personally thought that he was being watching closely with enough anticipation. He took a quick look beside him and saw that Izou was the same. His shoulders already darting out fiery feather-like forms. Yet there was time for the two to form a bond, somewhat. There was a silence before the storm, and it was filled with a friendly question. One that was welcome and warm, perhaps as warm as Izou's magic. However, with a question being towards where he came from, a place he tried to leave while he was still young, a sense of bitterness cannot be helped but surface, as he would get flashes of crumbling buildings, people screaming, all the death and destruction that befell Magnolia twice in his youth. Now coupled with the term leader, anger cannot help but be evident in his eyes as he would remember a glorified swordsman who let Magnolia experience such events. He then let out a sigh as if releasing all these negative emotions that would skew his focus and then replied. "I came from Magnolia. I left just as soon as I finished high school. There were no leaders there. Especially not Leonard Dragonbane who did nothing in response to when the city was attacked the first time. I cannot abide such lack of action. So I left and set out on my own path, I wouldn't want his weakness to rub off on me."

After his reply, he heard squishy sounds that quickly got louder and louder, and before long, a wet man came into view. It was a repulsive sight that was somewhat unexpected. They were warned about how vile their target was but he did not expect him to be... in his underwear that wasn't doing what it's supposed to do in concealing whatever horror is behind it very well because of that eldritch object being awakened. Nat's thoughts of his female companions quickly filled his mind with worry. What could he have done? Now that he had gotten over the initial shock and was now angered towards what is clearly a villain and took a swing because he had already been nearby, he was indeed fast. The diagonal upward strike however was easily dodged by going overhead. Although Nat couldn't call it being dodged exactly and more of the man sliding off the blade, he was really, really wet. It didn't help Nat's reaction as well when the Cringe's organic spear almost poked him in the eye, and he himself cringed and was ultimately unable to follow up an attack. It had gotten past him and he turned around, and surrounded himself in fiery light, as if to cleanse off whatever the hell just happened and yelled out to the villain "HEY! STOP!" and then threw a ball of light that quickly formed on his left hand at him. The ball moved quickly like a lightning bolt and got the man, but he quickly jumped off the blast, his wet body must've shielded him from the flame. Angrily, he shook his head and growled for he had never been violated like that before and what more the girls who had spent more time with the bastard and has been the Cringe's primary target. Quickly he rushed inside and told Izou that he'll check on the girls.

In mere moments, Nat came upon the bathroom and saw how the enemy has affected them. Though relieved they were relatively unharmed, he can't help but feel that their mental state have been scared and was afraid to ask anymore of them. Conjuring up another piece of cheesecake - a normal cheesecake this time - he offered it to them as some sort of comfort food and told them "You did great, friends. You've earned rest after what you've been through with him." before the light around him shined brighter and quickly darted off, leaving the faint golden trail behind him as he went after the Cringe buy busting out of the bathroom window. Going through that maze of a hall inside the building was a hassle and would waste valuable time, this was more efficient way.

From the shadows, Amalie continued to observe the group as a whole, thus far her judgements weren't especially impressed. But she also wasn't disappointed either, she expected this to be the case so far. They had done well to work as a unit, but the Cringe was just so, for lack of a better word, slippery. She was certain that if they continued to work together, they would be able to wrangle him. But to do so they really needed to act in synchronisation, to move as a single unit. That would come in time though she was sure, with training. This particular venture was just a good means to her to get a good grasp on their basic skills as soldiers, so she knew how best to develop them.

The Cringe would continue to waddle away arrogantly, snickering after his interaction with the swordman. He was very much used to Dies Irae mages coming after him, despite his appearance, he was very skilled at evasion. The gross fluids that secreted from his pores were such a valid asset to his naughty lifestyle. He considered that mayhaps had he stopped his lecherous ways of ogling females and touching them without consent that perhaps the guild would leave him alone. But alas, he could not. Because women's bodies were just so beautiful, not touching them or observing them in their bare glory was blasphemous!

"Heh heh heh, you'll never get meeee~"  He chirped in a off-key sing song voice, pausing for a quick bottom wiggle before carrying on.

    ↞ A Cringe-y Expedition ↠ Empty Re: ↞ A Cringe-y Expedition ↠

Post by Nathaniel Stratford 26th November 2020, 5:20 am

Nat landed just by the door he and his companions were just waiting and making plans by. Angrily and fiercely, he threw fireball after golden fireball at the 'criminal', only for all of them to be evaded. Literally all of them. It was frustrating, to be sure, but he was sure not to be consumed by it. He took a deep sigh and thought of another way of pursuing their target. He knew he can't do it alone. With the distance  already between them, Nat realized The Cringe was faster. No, he needed help. Aoi was stable last he saw her, but he was internally torn as to check up on her again or leave a message for her to catch up. He has put himself on a pressing situation, and looked anxiously back forth between where The Cringe was heading and back at the building. The more seconds he wasted standing and deciding, the more pressure he felt and his head turning got faster faster with each second more.

With a lot of hesitations, he decided to just leave Aoi a message for her to catch up. Specifically, the message he had written out so hastily that he was surprised at how it was still readable was an instruction to meet Nat at the corner of the village just two blocks away from where they are. He had also expressed his intentions of luring the enemy there.

Hurriedly, he rushed back in the building and yelled at one of the building's caretakers to deliver it the girl that they came with, but not the one on the bunny outfit "Hey, official legal guild business, you have to comply! Get this message to one of my friends! Now!". Nat deduced she may need even more time to process things as she had been front and center of The Cringe's abominable acts.

Right after the loud and sudden instruction, that was accompanied by a generous weighing pouch of jewels, Nat continued his pursuit for The Cringe. Using his knowledge of Shirostsume, Nat used the alley-ways and other shortcuts that left a lot to be desired on its appeal aspect as his boots had mud splatters, and other leftovers stuck all over it, with some splattering as far up to his leg, though he doesn't mind at all, he might've not even noticed it.

Fortunately, this sacrifice bore fruit and he was just behind The Cringe once more, not really expecting to get ahead or anything, so he was definitely happy about this result. He took chase once more and threw every bit of magic and object he could at The Cringe, herding him to the area he had in mind. He screamed and raged at The Cringe, threatening him constantly as The Cringe continued to insult and tease Nat for his inability to catch him"You're dying today, you hear me?! You're fucking dying today!!! Rrrrraaaaaaaagggh!". In truth, however, he was only playing, acting as if it was getting to him, though it might be for only a little, but for the most part he was doing this because he the criminal to think there was a reason behind Nat's reckless and poor aim.

So far, he seems to be leading The Cringe to the specified place for he began to notice how low the vertical clearance is getting, mostly because of how many sign boards are hung up now. He was only hoping that Aoi would already be here, and if he was lucky, perhaps The Cringe would hit his head on one of the signs and end this chase quicker.

The Cringe continued to waddle away, irritated by the persistence of this one fellow. It seemed he had managed to lose most of the members of Dies Irae that were attempting to get at him. No surprise really, For I am the slipperiest! He thought to himself smug as he continued to move away. As he scurried ahead, he noticed the area he was being guided into. His beady eyes examining it as he moved, no this was no good. There was too much open space here, too difficult for him to manoeuvre out of.

With this in mind he suddenly veered to the left, darting down an alleyway and off a random path. This was good! Yes! It would be harder for them to get him in such a small space. Dashing through the alley in a manner most random, he was sure that he would have lost them by now. At least that was into he steered himself into a hard right, all the while checking over his shoulder to see if the blonde man was following him. As he looked back he realised that he had foolishly wandered into a dead end. With no way out but back down the way he came. "Dagnabbit!"

As this continue, Amalie moved through the shadows, watching the chase. Seeing the Cringe run into the alley, she moved herself upward toward the roof so she could better see which route he could take. Keeping pace, she followed him, an eye firmly on Nat who seemed to be the only one left with any real chance of catching the criminal. A mild concern of his earlier shouting causing her to not wanted to allow too much a distance between herself and the recruit. If Nat's words rang true, then he might opt for elimination as oppose to capture and if that was the case - she would have no choice but to intervene.
