In a Place Where Time has Vanished Empty In a Place Where Time has Vanished

    The Sanctum Isles

With Sanctuary lost, the alumni were forced to vacate the docks area as their main base of operations, and from the looks of it, it would take a couple of months to get everything up and running again. Considering their power source was lost to an unknown entity in Ozwald’s dreams, they’ll have to settle for an alternative power source - electricity. It took them at least a week for them to successfully work on a functioning power generator which is owed to his ingenuity, but with the time constraints, he felt there’s room for improvement. It took them another two weeks to set up the cables and wirings to power the main faculties, and with the amount of tools they’d have to power up, it would take a long time to get New Sanctuary up and running. A construction company, namely Bob & Bob’s Son’s Construction, were hired to construct additional structures to house relics, artifacts, and the Motherlode.

This isn’t to say his obligations to the guild were not fulfilled. Light work here and there like managing books and running errands would reserve him the energy needed to manage the construction of New Sanctuary. His guild obligations came second, with the re-establishment of New Sanctuary a primary concern. He’s already informed the guild master, Leona, that he’d be absent for a long time to take care of things back in the Sanctum Isles. Hopefully she understood how the alumni meant to him and why his guild priorities came second.

He isn't one to lag behind in his training either, as he would always find time to train with his newfound magic of his. It’s only been months and there was visible progress in his efforts to master this power. Magical instruments were easy enough for him to use, even those with unparalleled power, but temporal magics is another thing. Even with the diagrams and instructions detailed on his grimoire, it’s not easy to harness what’s this and that to gather temporal energies from the book. How the book even contains temporal magics remains an enigma to him, but he isn’t one to question the hows when the book is entrusted to him by Alexander, a person from the past who also entrusted to him the 12 Brass Artifacts.

Alexander… a mysterious figure from the future… Do they mean something? They must mean something, as if time revolves around him. Destiny, perhaps? Such silly presumptions would get him nowhere. He’s just an ordinary mage, that is all.

Just as one of the machines in the Observatory was switched on, it already detected an anomaly. Oswald was quick to get there to see what this was all about. The instrument detailed the landing of another Brass Artifact in a perilous place called Morgate Town. He was in for a surprise. He arrived at the scene with the engineers minding their own businesses and the scholars awaiting his arrival, “Boss, we’ve got readings.”, one of them said as he entered, “Where is it?” Oswald was expecting a quick reply from them, but they hesitated for a moment. They were concerned seeing as the artifact fell in Morgate Town, even more so when they knew Ozwald would be going there solo AND without backup. They, who can’t even wield magic and let along fend for themselves, wouldn’t stand a chance against the perilous landscape. “Before everything else, we’d just like to advise you not to go there alone and-” Oswald interrupted, “I’ve been in every dangerous situation and survived all of them. What could possibly go wro- Oh bollocks.” He stopped in his tracks as he peered over at the screen. Damn it, he thought. Morgate Town was one place he’d avoid at all costs knowing the dangers that lie therein. He's heard of tales of monstrosities that come from within the nuclear landscape; creatures mutated terribly from the battles of eld. With his power as is, he found it best to take their advice to heart. “Well I’ll be damned. I guess I’ll have to contact the guild for some backup.”

He left for the port, and with phone in hand, he contacted the guild to see if anyone’s available at the moment. “Hi, yes, this is Ozwald Morgan. I’m requesting backup for an artifact retrieval.” He said as his call was picked up, “The artifact in question is in Morgate Town, I’m afraid. Normally I’d do it on my own, but with Morgate Town as is, I might not make it out alive, thus my need for backup. This is also of urgent matter as another guild is after it. A dark guild.” His urgent need for backup is also somewhat justified. The Rapture Skirmishers are wont to attain artifacts by any means necessary, even at the expense of their own members. Chances of them appearing are high, though there is also a chance for them to steer clear from the nuclear wasteland. "As for what it can do, I daresay it has something to do with time. No, it's not a clock. I'm referring to something like Time Magic." And with the artifact in question being sought after, he’s confident he’ll have backup available.

    Amalia Ad Augusta per Angusta

Amalia had just re-joined the guild of Silver Wolf from her trip around Fiore for some mercenary work and when she came back to the guild, she found a request for aid from one of its members. The member in question was Ozwald. Someone she had not yet met but had heard about, some rumours that he dabbled in ‘time’ magic. Time Lord, thought Amalia for no explicit reason. The artefact he was looking for was in Morgate Town and would be contested by a dark guild. She had scarcely been in the guild for an hour as she turned about and made way for Morgate Town, which was a place which she had never visited before.

She took the train from Sakuramori and travelled through the capital, where she had met Teresa, and through Era before arriving in the mountain village. From the mountain village, she travelled by horse towards Morgate Town. She delved into the town of Morgate when she was on the train and what she read worried her. Morgate Town was deserted by sane people, it was a wasteland and if that was not all a toxic wasteland. Amalia would have to consider which requip she would be using; she could not charge into it in her usual attire or so she assumed. On the train, she had worn casual clothes but on horseback, she was fully clad in steel. Full-plate armour of silver steel, with few azure embellishments. A long wide cloak of blue and white. A sallet helmet ready to cover her face with a snap of her fingers. Around her waist were many belts to which were weapons attached. Her rapier, the Morning Star, her daggers, revolvers and other utensils and pouches. In one sense it was extravagant but on the other side very plain and mundane. Her brother and would wear armours that were a fortune; black steel with gilded images and golden ornaments; the steel wrought by master armourers to create a pretty appeal. Amalia also had such armour but rarely used it, she found it more for show than for actual use.

She stood there, with her horse on the edge of a mire which looked eerie green. Amalia pulled up her nose. Am I on time? she wondered. She sighed. ”I am sorry horsie but I think I want something faster than you for travelling henceforth. Regardless if you were on time or not,” said Amalia as she patted the flank of the dappled horse. She decided to set up her camp at a nearby hill, which overlooked the wasteland as well as the meadows from which she had come. She considered to make a fire but found it ill-advised in such hostile territory. So she waited, for Ozwald to arrive or others.

In a Place Where Time has Vanished Empty Re: In a Place Where Time has Vanished

Post by MoRueran 20th November 2020, 9:55 pm

The peculiar young man named MoRueran was nearing what looked to be a very desolate settlement. The red fighter came to be in the deserted town after receiving a letter from Cephallion Feyson, the surrogate caretaker, and merchant he traveled with prior to starting his life in Magnolia with Billi, the younger of the two Feyson brothers. It was a request from the maverick trader to retrieve something very important in a place called Morgate Town, a hidden cache of books and documents written that described a strange illness that induced heightened rage was hidden somewhere. He was rather fortunate that the Lucky 7 crew, who were like a second family to him, helped sail him to where he needed to be onboard their sea-hippo-themed ship.

Much of the crew was sad to see him go, though they realized he had something he needed to do and gave him their best wishes, even Captain Benjamina wished him good luck. The cook Getsumei gave Mo a heaping bowl of stew, Dr. Angela gave the childlike oddball a bag of candy and ruffled his hair, and Jiyu gave a crabby comment reminding the boy not to go around taking random junk from strangers before telling the former cabin boy to stay alive so that they could meet again.

With farewells and goodbyes out of the way, MoRueran ventured forth from where they parted ways, moving about in blurs of vanishing vermillion to cover as much distance as he could before taking rest breaks to recover his stamina. It was at this time he encountered a somewhat portly man with brown hair who seemed prepared enough for the journey he was on. Whether by fate or mere coincidence, the two were heading to the same place. "Many hellos I give to mister, yes." inclining his head in a bow of greeting, the wandering brawler looked at the palm of his hand, which appeared to have a squiggly line drawn on it. In actuality, it was a simplified guide of what directions he needed to take to reach the town from where he started.

When they eventually do come upon Morgate, there was always a chance that they would encounter something... Or someone.

In a Place Where Time has Vanished Empty Re: In a Place Where Time has Vanished

Post by Mythica 31st December 2020, 11:33 am

Of all the exciting and beautiful places on this good green earth, the events that had caught the Soul Merchant's interest had to be here. A radioactive wasteland ripe with monstrous creatures that would've liked nothing more than to rip apart any being they came across. It was enough to make her smile, but then again, that wasn't exactly very hard to accomplish. Mythica had seen the signs just as well as anyone else had and was fully prepared to follow them. She couldn't lie to herself and say she wasn't excited. The power she felt from whatever the source was was intoxicating. It being so similar to her own, Mythica was attracted to this hellscape for no other reason than to investigate it herself. However, it seemed as though she wasn't the only one. Whatever the source of this power was proved to be more than interesting for beings beyond just herself. Perhaps this little journey of hers would prove to be fun!

Lady Twilight meandered the wastes with little concern. It appeared the radioactivity had little effect on her and the bloodthirsty creatures that roamed about ignored the girl completely. To an onlooker it may have simply looked like dumb luck, but the truth of the matter was far more sinister than that... At this moment Mythica was dressed in little more than her casual clothing, suggesting she was rather normal, at least in appearance. Her hair had been tied neatly into two even twin tails that rested over her shoulders and her black bangs were sideswept across her left eye, covering the abnormal glow from the golden clock within. She wore a white buttoned shirt and a black skirt with leggings. And yet everywhere she went a dark feeling followed... As if the very fabric of time and space was being twisted and contorted against its will as she walked. Of course such a feeling would not be noticeable to the common person, but for those in tune with such magics... They would certainly feel something off.

Mythica had finally come to a rather tall hilltop, overlooking a vast swath of land. From there she could see the buildings of the infamous Morgate town, but her senses also picked up something else. People. A dark grin formed upon her lip as she stood there motionless. For one of these people she had the pleasure of knowing. Of course, he had no idea she existed, but that would soon change. She should've known Loki would have brought their stories together at some point, and she could not wait to see how they unfolded...

In a Place Where Time has Vanished Empty Re: In a Place Where Time has Vanished

Post by Ozwald Morgan 1st January 2021, 2:29 pm

    Morgate Town

Ozwald didn’t forget his goal of figuring out how to best get rid of the demon haunting Michael. While he was on his quest to acquire the 12 Brass Artifacts, he did not stop looking for clues on Michael’s condition. He even hoped that, by chance, an answer would present itself to his grimoire - a message from the past. Alas, it doesn’t work that way, but he always held out hope to cure what ailed his brother. He trusted Giselle, his brother’s magic engineer companion, to look after him. He did not get to know Giselle better, but he does know she knew Michael best because she herself was there when he lost his memories. That, and she was also a survivor from the massacre in his brother’s fallen order.

Ozwald was quick to prepare himself for the treacherous journey towards the radioactive wasteland of Morgate Town. He is aware of what has transpired in Morgate Town before and the dangers that lurked thereafter. Grotesque monstrosity is to be expected, he thought to himself, and engaging them in a melee by punching them in the guts is out of the question. Thus, he turned to one of the Brass Artifacts. According to the Grimoire, 'Dave’s Turntables' are capable of manipulating and damaging one’s selves from multiple synchronized timelines at a… safer distance. He brought the artifact with him to help him in his endeavors as well as an anti-radiation apparatus.

He’d be lying if he told himself that he isn’t anxious in meeting with his comrade. He had a great time teaming up with his guild master, Leona, and his fellow guildmate, Kageyama, on their quest to drive out a dark guild. He’s actually more excited than anxious in meeting with his back up, and is eager to know what they can do during this mission. He hoped to make a good impression on them… and not make himself look like a sociopath like last time. But it was justified, using his towering height to his advantage along with implied threats for interrogation.

He left for Morgate Town via air travel with an aircraft vehicle. Afterall, it’s most convenient for him to travel from one place to another without having to stop to have his luggage inspected. As usual, a pilot is operating the aircraft vehicle. This left him more time to prepare mentally for the journey up ahead. This convenience is soon put to a stop. “Sir, I don’t think the helicarrier can survive a trip without risking it being exposed to radioactive contamination. I suggest we land somewhere nearby.” Oswald was very much displeased with the situation but he can’t blame the pilot. Afterall, contaminated metal might pose a risk to the scholasticate when it is returned home. He sighs in this conundrum. “Understood. Just drop me off somewhere near.” “Affirmative.”
Oswald jumped from the helicarrier to the ground once it was lowered to a manageable level. “I’ll contact you when I need some picking up.” He said through the communication lacrima, “Roger.” the pilot responded as they piloted the aircraft away, leaving Ozwald behind.

He was on his way towards Morgate Town when strange things started to happen. He was walking casually towards the rendezvous point, hoping to bump into his fellow guild mate during his travels, when all of a sudden, he found himself farther than where he was. Strange, he thought. He didn’t recall using Phase to enter the time stream. He even saw his own foot prints as he observed his surroundings. Strange, he thought. Is he starting to forget things? Is this the symptom of a much larger ailemnt? He does not know, nor does he care. He just wants to meet up with his back up from Silver Wolf.

Unbeknownst to him, a problematic phenomena has caused time to skip at random intervals at random points of time within the vicinity of Morgate Town. And Unbeknownst to him, he is about to meet his… mentor.

He arrived in the outskirts of what was left of Morgate Town. He has not spotted any monstrosity on his way here, yet. For now, he’s scanning his surroundings, hoping to see his backup. His posh garb should make him stand out the most. “I wonder where they are...” He mumbled to himself.

In a Place Where Time has Vanished Empty Re: In a Place Where Time has Vanished

Post by MoRueran 1st February 2021, 11:08 pm

One moment, MoRueran was greeting a stout man decked in high-end traveling gear, the next he found that he was somehow farther away from the town than where he had previously been with the somewhat portly man being nowhere to be found within his immediate surroundings. The young brawler had no idea that there were blips and minor distortions in time and space as he traversed through the area, but he did know that something was wrong here. When he disembarked from the Lucky 7 crew's ship, the motley group of seafarers, particularly the first mate Jiyu, warned him about Morgate Town and the surrounding area being radioactive. Mo knew about radios just a few months ago, they were those strange sound-makers that came in different shapes and sizes and have various dials, slides, and buttons. He came to learn about radios and what they did through Billiam, as he had a lacrima-powered radio in the bakery that he would sometimes listen to when it came to events happening in places that weren't in the store or in Magnolia.

Mo continued waddling on through the wasteland that was a decimated settlement, the red-clad weirdo pondering on what it was that Cephallion needed from such a broken and messy place that he needed the non-mage fighter to retrieve it? Hopefully, he would find out soon before he ran into those active radios that made people sick. The childlike fellow certainly wanted to avoid getting sick as much as possible, otherwise, he'd be stuck being bored while lying in bed and drinking terrible-tasting medicines in order to get better. At the very least, the ruined buildings of the deserted town were getting closer and closer as he approached, which assured the eccentric fellow that it wouldn't be long before he'd finish the task he was sent out to do.

At the thought of doing tasks, MoRueran vaguely remembered reading a request that pertained to this location on a job commissions board before he left home, though he didn't quite recall accepting the job. Regardless, the thing that Cephallion asked for had to come first, and that meant reaching the town itself... again. After a bit of time and moments spent moving as a red blur, the domesticated barbarian made it to the outskirts of the town... again. Once there, the oddball looked around while catching his breath, scanning the area for either distinguishable landmarks or signs of movement from either the cranky beasties or... something else entirely. That was when he happened to run into the well-dressed traveling man... again. Focusing his sight to a much greater extent than previously, Mo wanted to make sure that this wide stranger was actually real and not one of those "Mirage Inviso-Bills" or something.

Waddling up to the neatly dressed explorer, MoRueran went and poked his left index finger into the man's arm. "To ghostie-man many hellos I give, yes!"

In a Place Where Time has Vanished Empty Re: In a Place Where Time has Vanished

Post by Mythica 2nd February 2021, 12:33 pm

Mythica continued to stand on the hilltop, observing the landscape around her. Despite knowing exactly where the location of her prize lay, she decided to restrain herself somewhat. After all, a far more enticing thread of fate just entered her vicinity, and she was very keen on seeing where it would take her. At the moment she could sense two men. For her it was rather easy, seeing as most of the lifeforms in this entire region consisted of mutated beasts and creatures. Something Mythica herself was very familiar with due to her line of work, so when two signatures stood out it was enough to garner the interest of the Soul Merchant. She didn't know much about one of them, but seeing as they were getting closer to Ozwald she figured their paths would cross and she'd learn more.

After the introduction between the two men had concluded Mythica herself decided to enter the scene. With no whiff of warning nor sense of magic could be felt, but Mythica was suddenly there, directly behind Ozwald and MoRueran. "And what is it we've all traveled to this desolate place in search of?" Her voice sounded to their backs. Mythica stood straight with her hands clasped behind her back and a light smile upon her face. To most onlookers she seemed to be a completely normal girl, her black bangs covering the glow of her golden clock eye and any sense of magical aura remained hidden. "Heh.. Well I can only assume you two gentlemen came here with the same intent as me, I suppose." She said with a nervous chuckle as she scratched the back of her head. "I uh.. How rude of me, I'm Mythica!" She said, trying to regain her composure and politely bowing to the two men. "I sensed the magic power within this town not too long ago and came to investigate! I assume you two have come to the same conclusion? Morgate town isn't safe for lone travelers, even lone wizards! We should stick together." The girl suggested, walking closer to stand parallel to Ozwald and MoRueran. Something about Mythica would feel familiar to Ozwald, but he wouldn't be able to place where from exactly.

"A pleasure to make both your acquaintance..."

In a Place Where Time has Vanished Empty Re: In a Place Where Time has Vanished

Post by Ozwald Morgan 12th February 2021, 9:53 am

Time was what Ozwald had, in a literal sense. And at the same time, Time is against him. At least, for today. In a mission where a strange phenomena has affected how time behaved in an area, every second spent standing idly while waiting for his back up would only increase the risk of the mission. He wouldn’t want to become monster food for the irradiated monsters lurking within Morgate Town, would he? In a desolate town such as this, it would be impossible to miss a man wearing posh looking garb, and he very much stood out the most amongst the ruins of what used to be a bustling town. Seconds turned to minutes. He waited, and waited.

Minutes had passed by when he was greeted by poking on his arm. He turned to see a peculiar man who greeted him in a more peculiar manner. He’s had dealings with people who had different speech patterns while he was a solo adventurer without magic, so this was not very new to him. “I- Uh, oh. Hello there! What br-” Before he could continue speaking, a well dressed woman approached them. He was surprised because he wasn’t able to see her, let alone detect her presence. He couldn’t even hear her walking towards them, but appearing out of nowhere with magic is not out of the question. His weak magic sensory could be the reason, contrasting his twin’s potent magic sensory.

The well dressed woman introduced herself as Mythica.

This unexpected encounter with two strangers had made him a little flustered because he couldn’t perceive them. Regardless, he extended his camaraderie to them, and it wouldn’t do for him as a gentleman to not extend his greetings. It would also be rude of him not to introduce himself after she told them of her name. “The name’s Ozwald Emeraude Morgan. Former adventurer extraordinaire and a recent part-time artifact hunter for Silver Wolf.” He introduced himself to them, as he usually does when he met with other strangers, except for the change of job description after his admission to the guild. Part time, because he was also looking for ways to release the devil inside of his twin brother, Michael, who he truly cared for. That, and with the task of retrieving the 12 Brass Artifacts entrusted unto him by Alexander as well as overseeing the construction of Neo Sanctuary, he's a little stressed with the burden of responsibility.

He caught on to what she said about sensing magic within this town. Perhaps this time altering phenomena was caused by an artifact, he thought to himself. Between two (or three) people investigating the circumstances of this desolate place, why not share what he knew? After all, it is definitely a good idea to stick to each other’s company.

    What could possibly go wrong?

“I have my own theories, but yeah, you can say that.” He said to Mythica, “I’m actually here to look for some kind of artifact. I daresay we could all help each other out.” He suggested to his newfound companions.

In a Place Where Time has Vanished Empty Re: In a Place Where Time has Vanished

MoRueran found himself surprised yet again as, if he wasn't suddenly being yoinked from one spot to another without his knowledge, there were people who-- according to his ability to literally sense the presence of living things within a certain radius-- just popped into existence without rhyme or reason. Granted, the childlike brawler was possibly one of the last people in the world who would ever bother with trying to make sense of everything going on around him. Either way, the apprentice baker and a fringe member of Fairy Tail wasn't going to jump the gun and attack the mystery lady who just blipped right into their company, especially after he accidentally did the same thing to the other snappy dresser of a traveler. It would be bad manners, at least that's what Billi always said when it came to the domesticated barbarian, especially if the attack was unprovoked.

Wanting to do Billiam proud and possibly make new friends, Mo would listen with interest as the introductions came. The name of the somewhat portly yet very active man was Ozwald while the enigmatic yet cheerful woman introduced herself as Mythica. MoRueran took note of how Mythica conducted herself, her posture and mannerisms were distinctly lacking in any fear or wariness towards their current desolate location. On the contrary, she radiated confidence and even... a desire, as though she chose to be here for whatever reason. At least Ozwald exhibited some small degree of caution, his movements had a very slight, barely noticeable rigidity denoting a distaste for this place and an inclination to be done with whatever he came to accomplish by being here as soon as possible.

Then, it was Mo's turn. "MoRueran, my name is, yes!", With a dopey grin on his face, the boy gave his new acquaintances two thumbs up before he continued with, "Find big treasure I will, make uncle happy, yes!" clapping in good cheer, Mo would again keep silent as Mythica made a suggestion that the three of them should form a joint party due to the lurking dangers that were present within the wastelands surrounding Morgate Town. Nodding and clapping in exuberant agreement. "Much good, make beasties hide, yes!"

This encounter MoRueran has had with Mythica probably wouldn't be the only one, as later on, she might possibly become involved in some way with the guild that Mo was only a small part of.

    @Ozwald Morgan @Mythica

In a Place Where Time has Vanished Empty Re: In a Place Where Time has Vanished

The time witch was pretty confident in her guess from before, but his words only seemed to confirm her hypothesis when Ozwald stated the reasoning for his presence in this desolate place. As for the other man, she wasn't entirely sure. Unlike Ozwald, this man had no previous connection to the Blood Wolf, so Mythica couldn't very much say what his purpose or goals were. Aside from also being on a hunt for the now dubbed artifact. His speech was certainly strange, but it was of little consequence for Mythica. When you had seen and experienced everything she had, odd personalities and speaking traits failed to cause her any concern. She could assume he may have also been a member of Silver Wolf, though nothing was certain.

"Ah, so you're a guild wizard!" Mythica exclaimed with a smile. It was important both to her future plans (and her current entertainment) that she didn't reveal too much about herself to Oz. Her name was fine, as very few people actually knew what it was, but that was about all she could afford to say. The last thing she wanted was Michael to get the news if Ozwald still remained in regular contact with him. The young artifact hunter presented Mythica with too much potential to just ignore, so she would have to do this carefully. "I know some spells myself, so I'll try not to slow you down." She responded with a smile. Of course under normal circumstances Mythica would not have a need for combat anyways, as she was already too used to the aura these monsters gave off that they likely would not attack her. Of course now things had changed since the arrival of Ozwald and Mo, and Mythica might have to put on a show.
