Born with inherent magical abilities in the kingdom of Pergrande the young mage called Aspen always had to hide her abilities in fear of persecution and even death, a feeling that has been ever present for most of her life and somewhat shaped part of her character. Due to the fact that she had to play an act for a good deal of her life she's pretty decent at hiding her true feelings, emotions and personality, preferring to remain stoic and debatably expressionless most of the time, though through this circumstance having little knowledge of or much control over her magical abilities, drawing from this the desire to explore and experiment with all things magical, of course including her own magic. Despite having repressed and hidden a part of herself for a long time she has managed to find a place in, even integrate into Pergrandian society for years, joining the Royal Knights of Pergrande and reaching the rank of paladin. This, however, was achieved not in combat, like some of her fellow paladins had, but through the innovative and constant invention of new weapons and equipment for the nation of Pergrande to use in their ever ongoing wars against their neighbours. In fact, she is quite the techhead, skilled with machinery and tools, a trained engineer and gunsmith and, perhaps most importantly of all, a pretty good shoot. She is, all in all, due to her past and the recent events that unfolded in her life, shy, reclusive and always self-conscious,

In combat, Aspen uses her magic to the best of her abilities, always giving 100% and trying her best, though easily getting frustrated with magic in particular since she is both not too adept in using it and still somewhat relies on the limits of the technology she has been familiarized with being brought up in Pergrande and even combining it with her magic to create her fighting style. She is generally rather analytical both in and outside of combat, this fact influencing her fighting style further. She's calm and collected and prefers to get rid of adversaries in the most efficient and quick way possible, without many words and without second thought. She probably wouldn't perform too well as a leader, being rather shy and cautious, perhaps even coming off as reclusive or arrogant to her peers, which doesn't really make her well suited for a position of respect or authority. She would probably perform best under a very defined hierarchical structure, being familiar with the chain of command from her time in the army of the Pergrande Kingdom and preferring to adhere to the very defined ways and styles of a military.

- Technology: Aspen is familiar with weaponry and machinery from her time as a Pergrandian engineer and likes to tinker and experiment with both.
- Freedom: Having been forced to repress an entire part of her self for the majority of her life she enjoys her newfound freedom in Fiore with every breath she takes.

- Injustice: Due to her past doing people unnecessary wrong or seeing it happen turns her stomach
- Arrogance: Despite occasionally coming off as arrogant she views people who see themselves as above others with the utmost disdain.
- Royalty and Nobility: It was the King and his lackeys who were responsible for so much of her pain and suffering, the Nobility who exploited and oppressed her people. Aspen is convinced that all of them are the same.
