    JOB DESCRIPTION:

Scully was walking on a path beside a river that ran on the North-Western part of Fiore. His direction followed that of the river: north. This was the direction that would lead him to the aptly named River Village just past the Lycan Woods. During his trek, he kept on munching on some doughnuts he had brought for the journey. The reason for such visit was because the Rune Knights were given an emergency call about a bandit situation on the village. Once he caught wind of the request, Scully thought this would be a good time to stretch his legs and arms since he hasn't done much fieldwork lately, it was all behind the desk. And while he thinks the paperwork is just as important, he would feel better if he was actually doing some good out there. So he eagerly volunteered himself as first responder. And being part of the Combat Corps certainly made him an appropriate candidate for the assignment.

Not long after finishing the doughnut he had been enjoying along the way, Scully had arrived to the village, which by the look of things was just recently attacked by the bandits they were having a problem about. Body bags were already being filled while loved ones wept for their now deceased loved ones. The line of bags started from the Eastern path to the village and about half towards the center. Some of the dead however were bandits that fell to the village defenders - demonstrating the good-heartedness and respect the villagers had for their fellow man - but it was clearly not enough as he would overhear the village leader assuring some of the citizens that their kidnapped family members will be returned safely. There were also treasurers accounting for the value of items plundered by their invaders.

It was clear from the leader's facial expression that he was annoyed. His eyes portrayed vengeance because even though they were relatively a peaceful folk, they completely understood the concept of punishment and paying the price, and Scully could've sworn he heard the leader murmur that the bandits will pay under his breath. Trying to instill some semblance of hope to him, Scully approached and greeted the leader politely. The leader in turn faced him and eyed the fat man from head to toe. Though muscular, Scully clearly wasn't the leader had in mind for a rescue from the Rune Knights especially seeing that there's only one of him. "Don't worry, others will be hear soon. Though I can defend the village until their arrival." Scully said, assuring the leader. However still in doubt, the leader sighed and opted to give Scully a chance to prove himself. "Alright. I'll explain the situation once you're all here." the leader replied coldly. Though he couldn't help but feel that instead of giving him hope, he only made the leader doubt the situation a bit more. The Rune Knights have a lot of famous well toned stunningly attractive characters and it would be understandable that the leader expected something like that. But Scully would not be dismayed by this. Today, he will prove himself.

Tor was quite happy when he finally chanced upon a job that he thought he would be good at. His lifetime of street fights and revenge attacks had given him only the ability and skill to fight. Couple with some street-savviness, the only thing he could do was to use his fists. And magic. Apart from that, he was basically useless. Even the desk duties at the Rune Knights which would be easy for most was excruciating for him, as he had to struggle with the paperwork.

However, as always, when violence was involved, things were never pretty. Even the smallest of fights would lead to things like busted lips, swollen eyes and such. The dark purple wings that shot out of Tor’s back, a spell that was linked to the dark shield on his back carved in the motif of a dragon’s head, would flap every once in awhile as Tor soared above River Village and its surrounding areas. From the information provided, the bandits had already attacked the village a few times and the damage weren’t minimal.

Dead bodies waiting to be collected were strewn across the ground, while a group of people were hurriedly trying to handle them with care. He could also see people being brought into a particular building on stretchers, no doubt people requiring immediate medical attention. The mess created by the bandit was no less than a small-scale war. It was puzzling, honestly. Most bandit raids tried to keep damage to a minimum, as their focus was more on pillaging with the occasional kidnapping. The scene below him looked more like a siege.

Tor’s eyebrows were locked tightly as he took one more aerial sweep above the entire village, more or less memorizing the overall layout of the village before nodding slightly and deciding to land. He had already caught sight of a Rune Knight entering the village earlier. A few of them had been dispatched to assist the village in getting rid of the bandits but they had all moved out based on their own schedule, so Tor had no prior knowledge to who he would be working with. A particular raven-haired beauty popped into his mind causing his eyes to glaze slightly before sharpening again as he thought back to the matter at hand.

Folding his wings slightly, Tor began to drop into a slow dive, making small circles in the air as he slowly descended. When he was just a few meters off the ground, Tor completely folded back his wings before allowing them to disperse, landing with a slight bent in his knees before straightening back up and smoothing his Rune Knight uniform. He had landed behind the tall Rune Knight. It was an unfamiliar face, as Tor hadn’t really been able to get to know everyone in the organization.

Walking around the man to stand beside him, Tor greeted the one that the other Rune Knight was speaking to first.

“Hi, I’m Tor,” Tor said as he introduced himself to the village leader and to his colleague at the same time, giving Scully a glance and a warm smile.

Despite the man’s huge size, Tor could see the toned muscles behind the deceptive façade. It would be interesting to see the strength behind this man’s punch.

Alicia stood over a table with weapons, ammunition's, explosives and supplies. She loaded bullets into an extended magazine, once her magazines were reloaded she moved on to reloading a shot gun with shotgun shells. Although Alicia could easily reload her weapons via magical means, she always made sure to maintain and operate her weapons manually so that she would not lose her edge. Alicia knew how powerful magic was and how convenient it could make things, however she was well aware how foolish and dangerous it would be to simply rely on ones innate magical abilities. The sounds of metal and parts locking into place echoed into the room she was in. Alicia then shouldered one of her rifles and looked through the holographic sight attached on to the picatinny rail of her modified m4a1, the rifles was modified to fire a larger mana infused 7.62 rounds rather than the standard 5.56 though the bullet sacrificed some of its accuracy for greater power. As a back up Alicia had prepared magazines loaded with 5.56 rounds along with another AR that fired 5.56 rounds. Once Alicia was thoroughly satisfied with her preparation's she the  called out to the empty room.

"E.V.A. Prepare the new "dress" I have to attend to a dance today." Alicia called out seemingly to nobody, a female electronic voice echoed through the empty room.

"Affirmative preparing your new "dress". I assume we will be preforming the first field test for the new "dress"?" E.V.A replied.

"Record all combat data that we'll get in todays mission. Once the mission is completed we'll make the adjustments needed for the "dress" By the way... is the vault prepared?" Alicia inquired as she walked away from the table. A large rectangular metallic box began rising from the floor in an upright position. The box opened revealing an empty space revealing that it was a hidden elevator.

"The Vault is ready for operations, please go down to the "dressing room" to try your new "dress" that has been for you Ms. Sinclair. Any accessories should I prioritize preparing to go with your new "dress" Ms. Sinclair?" E.V.A chirped happily. Alicia pressed one of the buttons in the elevator and began to descend down to the dressing room. She paused for a moment.

"Just prepare my usual favorite accessories E.V.A. other than that ... just be on standby if I need any other accessories from the Vault." Alicia responded, she checked her watch to check the time. "Perfect we'll be there just on time.... once I put on the "dress" prepare long range transportation to the coordinates I sent you earlier." Alicia responded, the elevator stopped and the doors slid open. Alicia stepped into a mechanically intricate room with multiple mechanical arms surrounding a platform.

Alicia stepped on the platform and a blue lights began to scan her measurements. "Please stand still while we put your dress on you." As E.V.A said this the platform began to rotate slowly and the mechanical arms sprung to life. Piece by piece plates of intricate pieces of tech we placed around Alicia. It was not just an engineering marvel, but detailed magical runes were being inscribed on to plates of metal and key components. Alicia closed her eyes and relaxed. For a few seconds the mechanical arms moved about, the sound of hydraulics and other machine like noises echoed through the room. Then there was silence. Alicia opened her eyes peering into darkness, the darkness was easily banished by the return of Alicia's vision accompanied with a futuristic HUD. The words displayed in front of Alicia:

    Project R.E.A.P.E.R is online

"Long range transportation engaging in 30 seconds." said E.V.A's voice inside Alicia's helmet. "The new "dress" looks good on you Ms. Sinclair."

"E.V.A does this dress make me look fat?" Alicia joked to the A.I. E.V.A chuckled before responding. "you look fabulous Ms. Sinclair.... by the way long range transportation engaging in 3....2....1" A bright flash of light enveloped Alicia.

In a blink of an eye with a bright flash Alicia found herself a few meters full clad in an exoskeleton suit. Sparks of energy crawled over the armor with the scent of burnt ozone lingered in the air for a few seconds.

Alicia then looked up to her fellow Rune Knights and saluted them silently, before presenting her the Spec Ops logo inscribed on the shoulder plate of her amour.

"Greetings gentleman.... I'll be working with you today." Alicia spoke as the helmet digitized her voice, modifying to sound deeper and more masculine completely disguising her voice. "As you can see the Spec Ops sent me here to help you gentleman."

The helmet with a skull scratched onto it had completely hid Alicia's face. And the armor had completely hid her figure as well.

Minutes was all it took after Scully had assured the leader of more than just one jolly fat man will help them for the rest of the members assigned to this mission to show up. One rather handsome looking fellow swooped down after having done some aerial reconnaissance that left Scully and the leader impressed at his preparedness. In fact, the leader turned his back on Scully and thought it would be more fitting to address the more heroic looking figure than the man eating the doughnut right now. The man was also about to land, and in a rather angelic and graceful fashion that gave Scully enough time to finish his doughnut so much so that when the leader looked back in his general direction, it would seem as if he had been standing in attention this whole time.

The angelic man who had just arrived introduced himself as Tor. Scully had not seen him before but her was indeed very, very handsome. Scully gave Tor a warm smile and a tip of his hat, almost bowing at that point. Soon thereafter, another and the last of their group appear. And as graceful and calming Tor's arrival was, the last one's was more abrupt, serious, and powerful. The sudden appearance of electric energy out of nowhere was indeed frightful to some. Even Scully was alarmed as this was something he had never seen an ally do before. However, all would cleared out as soon as the entity spoke.

The man claimed to be the their companion from the Spec Ops. And seeing as the man is not aiming to kill them all right there and then. The tension in Scully's muscles receded and the fat man sighed before turning to face the village leader, telling him that that's all of them. The leader in turn, gave the group a glance. Evidently pleased with the first impressions of the two that came before their supposed spokesperson that looked to be just their errand boy. The leader sighed, thinking that even if these are indeed the people that'll help, if they're lead by this... man that what good would it do? He really hoped that either the cyborg or the angel is leading them.

"Alright, so here's the deal, a group of bloodthirsty bandits are terrorizing are village. Obviously." the leader explained annoyed as he pointed towards the on-going clean up of the last attack. "They're coming from the hills and the frequency of attacks per day are increasing. They're not content to just pillage and loot either. When given the opportunity to kill and kidnap, they will." the man continued. Worry was evident in Scully's face. He looked down and pondered why would bandits go out of their way to kill people? There was something amiss here to be sure, and perhaps their colleague from the Spec Ops division could gather intel as to why? But before any further deliberation and discussion can be made, screams from the townspeople can be heard, as the ran further in to the village.

A fresh squad of bandits are coming down from the hillside, 5 strong. Each one evidently crazed but by what, he cannot tell. They were all wielding axes wildly. And while small, their insanity can more than make up for it. They were coming down quickly and Scully needed to act fast.

He hurried to the edge of the village, determination in his eyes and surety in his steps with a stomp in the last one. He looked around for anything nearby where he stood for any object he might enhance, and what he found was a discarded axe from previous invaders.  Scully picked it up and it glowed a white light as soon as his hand touched it. Instantly, the axe was no more but rather a large wall made from the steel of the axe's head. This would have given the villagers enough time to hide their belongings and themselves as well allow Tor and the man from Spec Ops to prepare themselves for battle.

A bright flash of light followed his own arrival, simplifying the conversation flow as it would save them lengthy introductions. An armored figure walked out of the bright flash of light as it dimmed and dispersed, a wicked skull painted upon the dome-like helmet of the armored figure. Tor grinned before whistled appreciatively at the aesthetics of the whole armor. He even took a step back so that he could give the person a proper look over from head to toe and back.

“Wicked,” Tor remarked as he gave two thumbs up. When the digital voice of the Rune Knight spoke, keeping the gender of the owner hidden, Tor nodded once again. “Spec Ops too.”

The eyes of the village leader scanned all three of them, darting left and right as he took in the weird ensemble of characters that had all identified themselves as Rune Knights. They were as motley as can be, yet the Rune Knights had thrived on this very point with each bringing his or her own specialty to the table to create an all-encompassing military force to deal with any sort of issues possible in Fiore.

After he had had his fill of switching his attention between all of them, the leader began to explain the whole gist of the bandit attacks. As the leader spoke, Tor gave a sideways glance and caught the worry on the larger Rune Knight’s expression. He still hadn’t heard his name as the return introduction that was supposed to have happened after he introduced himself was cut short by the arrival of the armored Rune Knight. However, he could see that the man seemed to share the same concerns. Bandits had always operated in a very predictable MO. Sneak attack, pillage, sometimes kidnap and then flee.

Their objective was always riches, not killing. And the sizeable death count in River Village was indeed vastly different from typical bandit attacks. Unless they wanted something in the village or the village itself. But even so, they could have just flooded the village with their numbers and take it down in one fell swoop instead of drawing it out and giving the village a chance to call for help.

Tor’s brows furrowed slightly as he began to think, but before he could, his concentration was broken by screams coming from the village entrance. The village alarm bell was ringing furiously as one of the watchers pulled and pulled to sound the alarm, while everyone on the streets began scampering around to safety. Amidst the chaos, only four people were standing still. The leader and the Rune Knights. But not for long.

Wings of lightning burst out of his back and Tor shot up in to the sky like a bullet and stopping once he could see the town entrance from his height. Five bandits, outfitted in assorted pieces of armor that they had robbed, but each holding axes in their hands were running down the hill, shouting at the top of their lungs. None that joined the Rune Knights were a coward, proven by the fact that the three of them, a stranger to each other, could simultaneously act at the same time in the face of the upcoming danger.

The big Rune Knight’s magic was the first to be cast, forming a large iron wall from the small axe he had casually grabbed off the ground.

“So, you are handling defense?” Tor shouted as he dropped into a forward dive from his higher position while moving towards the village entrance, and eventually landing on the iron wall that the big Rune Knight had raised. “We haven’t been properly introduced though, I’m Tor!”

As he spoke, a black gauntlet appeared around Tor’s left hand. He had his palm facing upwards as a bar of red energy appeared above his palm for him to grasp. The moment his fingers wrapped around it, the bar of red energy expanded upon itself, quickly turning into a full-sized longbow formed out of red energy. Tor held up his left hand holding with the energy bow, aligning it horizontally while pulling back his right arm, an arrow made of the same energy appearing between his fingers. Tor closed his left eye and took aim, taking his time for the bandits to enter his sure-hit range before releasing his right hand. The red energy arrow buzzed as it flew through the air, embedding itself into the shoulder of the leading bandit, pushing his upper body back while his lower body continued to charge, causing him to comically fall back on to the ground.

The sight of their leader falling to the ground didn’t even slow down the remaining four. Instead, they charged forward with even more fervor. However, what really caught Tor’s attention was behind the four bandits. Upon the crest of the hill, there was a force of twenty horsemen standing tall.

“I think you guys will have to fight as well,” Tor said before letting the energy bow disperse and a sword appeared strapped behind his back. The Rune Knight disappeared in a burst of shadows, and the next second, he reappeared beside the bandit he had shot down, black sword held in a reverse grip and stabbing straight down into the bandit’s chest.
