Leon turned off the television in the corner of the room after clicking through channel after channel, but only news about the Boronavirus ever seemed to show up. Even though his work kept him occupied, he tried to stay at least a little informed as to what was happening around him, but the quality of press and media coverage seemed more eager to get views through fear-mongering and wacky conspiracy theories than delivering accurate and helpful information. Lately, everyone's been clearing the shelves at grocery stores, and now everything is in high demand—especially cleaning products, food, and toilet paper of all things. Leon always tried to cook all of his meals before this, but now the mass hysteria had gotten so bad that ordering out was easier to deal with than hunting for ingredients.
"Tch... this kind of thing only scares people. Seriously..." Leon placed the remote down somewhere, an exasperated sigh leaving his mouth as the immense paranoia that consumed most channels right now. Still, he couldn't help but acknowledge that it all looked pretty serious... people were dying, after all. In any case, worrying about it didn't fix anything. He was taking a small break from assisting Percy, but all he ended up doing was organize and clean things in the messy lab that always seemed to return to chaos no matter how many times Leon uncluttered it.
When I went to Croger this morning, the place was totally empty... there's no way I'll be able to buy anything at this rate, Leon thought to himself about his dinner plans. Things were too crazy to ignore, so that was a bust. Television in the background as white noise wasn't working out either, and he was about to return to Percy in a moment, so Leon leaned against the wall with his iLac held out as he scrolled through YumHub. He was probably hungry too, right?
"Hey, Percy! You're hungry, right?" Leon started talking before he actually found his boss, knowing that his words would somehow reach him throughout the shared space as he called out into it. He navigated through the lab with an iLac in hand, scrolling through the varieties of cuisines YumHub had to display. Once he returned to where Percy was, he stopped to look at him with his usual steely stare. Sometimes he felt a little intrusive and out of line when he offered to do things like this. This guy probably ate pretty well with that body of his, right? Maybe offering to do takeout was a bad idea. Still, he had to at least get an answer. "I'm paying, so..."
That was a little weird, though. When he called out to Percy, there was a faint scratchiness in his voice. His throat was a little tender today... but not yesterday, or the day before that, and he didn't overuse his voice or anything.
Strange.
