Today, Seika was just going about her normal business at first. There were lots of errands to run around Clover Town; she had taken to accepting menial jobs on account of having absolutely no money. Being a broke mage was pretty easy, actually. A bajillion jobs existed where a teensy tiny bit of magic was required. For example, reaching the box on top of the shelf! Seika could only do that with magic.
... Although, she guessed, some people could do it without magic. If they were tall. Or maybe if they had a ladder? Possibly both, but then surely they would hit their head. Seika winced at that idea, rubbing the top of her head in sympathy for the tall individuals who had mistaken attempted to use a step stool. Shaking her head to get her thoughts back in order, Seika slammed her fist into the palm of her hand. "Okay! Back to the task at hand!"
They were out of elk meat back at the guild hall, which was an absolute travesty. On account of this, Seika had decided to remedy the situation and go out to the nearest town to buy some. Technically, Clover Town was uh, uber far away from Sin and the city of Elysium, but it was the first place she had thought of! And the first place she had teleported to! Therefore, it was the nearest place. She'd begun to take some job requests around the area to get money to buy the meat.
But who was she justifying her actions to anyway? Coughing slightly, Seika straightened up and began heading in the direction of the grocery store. Or maybe she should just try the forest on the side of town? Not everyone sold elk meat... why had she gone to gather money again?
Just as she was passing by a park bench where a girl was sitting with her dog, Seika thought she heard a loud pop. Blinking in confusion, the mage glanced around. Nothing seemed to be amiss- except- ahh! She stared at the empty space where the dog had been. Its owner was still in a position of petting the air, her hand half frozen in space. Then she burst into tears.
Rushing over to comfort her, Seika tried to shush her and give her hugs. Except, it didn't work, and then Seika herself began crying! Sobbing, she rubbed her eyes and tried to control the flow of tears. Well, clearly there was something nefarious going on here. Still sniffling, the girl decided there was only one thing left to do. Get a mage to take the case! Seika scrubbed at her face with the sleeve of her sweater, before squeezing her eyes shut and teleporting away in a blink.
She visited twelve guild halls in the next twenty minutes, frantically pinning up notices for a job request to a super stronk mage to help her track down the evil dognapper. The mage had no idea where to start, so she'd better get a skilled person to help her, right?
