Sometimes things that fall apart are actually falling into place
Battles in this land were really something else. A lot must've happened in the last year Leon had been in Fiore, but he hadn't ever really paid attention to that sort of stuff. He was too busy busting his ass trying to keep his head above water to care about the latest hubbub around the nation, but sometimes he'd read about this kind of stuff in the magazine. He'd heard about the attack on Fairy Tail in the news, and Percy mentioned it during their reunion at the Singles Night, but seeing the damage in person was a reality check on a completely different level.
As Leon ambled through the streets of Magnolia Town, a baseball cap snug on his head and a well-fitted black tracksuit on his body, he'd often find himself stopping to gawk at the damage and debris. Buildings were completely torn apart, and there were still heaps of rubble lying on the street—reconstruction was still at large. It was kind of hard to believe that this stuff was sort of commonplace here, but he was fortunate enough to have a pretty peaceful year as far as that was concerned. But even that was fleeting. Ever since he started working for Percy, Leon found himself getting mixed into all kinds of trouble on and off the clock. He had gotten some brand new scars thanks to some touchy encounters with mobs, and even though the training he was receiving and the equipment had access to was top-notch, it still felt like Leon was lacking. Like he could be doing more.
He had heard about this old man who was seen fighting the dragon that had leveled the Fairy Tail guild hall, holding his own against that terrific beast, his hair silver like a blade and movements meaningful like a bloodthirsty swan... or so the rumors said. Leon didn't really know if any of that was true, but he came here to find out. The assistant wanted to reach out beyond Percy's mentorship and acquire a skill set he hadn't thought of before. Something he could maybe use to help himself and the others he just seems to come across along the way. And besides, it couldn't hurt to bring some new moves back to Bellum, right? If he was going to wait here in Fiore, it wasn't a bad idea to learn a new trick or two.
That sounds nice, but... Leon droned on in his head, looking up from the magazine he was holding back to the busy street he was standing in the middle of. Hell, he didn't even know the guy's name, let alone where to find him. He might've gotten ahead of himself by coming here on a whim, or thinking it'd just be a day trip. Leon sighed, placing a hand on his shoulder as he leaned back to stare into the sky, "Where should I even start?..."
