Magic Name: Arclight Zone

Description: Arclight Zone, sometimes simply called 'Arclight,' is a mixture of frigid arctic magic and the blinding sunlight at the northen poles of Earthland. Known as the land of the midnight sun, the freezing land is beautifully bathed in brightness even though the area remains frozen and unwelcoming. The name of this magic may be deceiving, in that despite their control of 'zones,' areas close within their vicinity, they do not have many methods to support crowd control or cover large swathes of land. Instead, the word zone suggests the place where this secret art was first birthed and heavily used.
As part of a lost magic, Arclight abilities are difficult to wield and cast on initial attempt. Despite this, they persist for longer than similar abilities of an alternative type. Enamored by technology, Yuki insists on integrating as much modern equipment into their arsenal as possible. Regardless, Arclight does not mesh very well with electricity or metal as a general rule. It does not have a particularly strong connection to lush nature in the form of plants, trees, dirt, or similar substances. However, Arclight's relationship with these elements is more positive as opposed to lightning, iron, and the like. Most definitively, Yuki thrives when using water, ice, and light or while in an environment consisting mostly of these materials.

Effect 1: Once per turn, they can cast out a wave of water spurting from their form in a radius shatters any shield upon impact. This shattering effect weakens the shield over time, reducing its durability as a result and causing it to take an additional 50% damage from all sources.
Effect 2: The first D-Rank enemy ability to strike the wave will be washed away and rendered null when Yuki spends the MP equal to the cost of the spell they nullify.

Description: All of Yuki's spells originate from their magical center and slowly spread through their body, using it as a conduit to funnel the powerful but taxing lost magic. Their abilities typically function within self or melee range and at a self or melee speed only. However, for up to 6 posts at a time, Yuki may manipulate space directly around them to initiate an alternatively powered flow of magic.
Effect 1: Melee range and speed is modified to burst range and speed. Any range and speed non melee in return becomes melee range and speed. This only applies for Yuki and nobody else.
Effect 2: Yuki gains an increased 50% value to their movement speed.
Plot Effect: While the flow of their magic is modified, Yuki gains additional spatial awareness within their magic sensory range. They can sense heat signatures as well as detect faint scents with empowered perception.

Description: Yuki channels a raw flow of magic through their veins, inducing a rush of energy that rises to the surface of their skin and manifests a glowing layer to protect from damage. This can be extended to up to 7 of their allies for protection.
Effect 1: Dual Category. At their will or after at least one shield takes damage, Yuki can lift up the shards of frostily glowing light and send them flying towards enemies in range to do damage. If they lift up a shield prematurely to use it offensively, the shielded target loses the protection for that post. The regenerative effect of the shield will maintain it the next round unless it is removed then as well.
Effect 2: From the castage of the spell to the end of its duration, Yuki's spell damage is increased 75%.

Grave danger is defined by any damage that would reduce Yuki to 0 HP or less or a plot device where this mechanic would like to be used. This excess HP shield, when it is conjured, does not protect effectively and the HP damage it can take is only 50% of its value as an HP number. It may only be conjured once per thread, after the breakage of which Yuki's entire MP is consumed and reduced to zero.

- Spatial Core: Effect 1: To keep up with the demanding strain on their energy, they have developed an additional reserve of MP equal to half of their base. This store may not be increased by any means and is only drawn upon after their initial pool is exhausted. Upon reaching 0 MP they still experience all of the effects of MP loss, with the exception that they may still cast spells using their reserve for 3 posts, after which they will lose consciousness.
