Name: Levinia "Lev" “Levie” Arx Creuset
Gender: Female
Age:18
Birthday: The Fourteenth Waxing of the Hunt (in conventional dating terms, 23rd March)
Sexuality: Straight
Special Characteristics:
- She is missing most of her right arm, and is left handed, as a result.
- A series of strange, gently glowing runes usually revolve around her wrists like arcane bangles, but re-position themselves as situation demands.
Personality:
Having overcome the crutch of her deformed appearance, and now looking more human, the girl known as Levinia Arx Creuset has gained a great amount of confidence. Still, some of her quiet and withdrawn personas are still evident in her normal behavior. Considering her good sides, as well as her bad, should give us a clearer description of her personality.
The Good
Creative: As far as thinking outside the box goes, Lev has a strong knack for it. Although she is not often one for tradition, she likes to find practical and workable solutions to any problem she comes up against. Her astute mind weighs the options, and she finds a way (most of the time) to put her vivid imagination to good use. She may look a bit and act a bit nerdy, but her flair for invention reveals itself in her ability to tinker with machinery and couple unorthodox parts to make a makeshift solution.
Honest: Lev is a rather straightforward person and values truthfulness in herself and in others. On most occasions, she will tell the truth and act in a way that will not defraud the person she is dealing with.
Decisive: Pragmatic and driven, Levinia is the kind of person who will get something done, when she fixes her mind on it. A girl of action, she can be tenacious to relentlessness, and hates to do things halfway. Of course, this hints at a perfectionist streak, but fortunately, she only sets such high standards for herself.
Passionate and determined: When Levinia believes in something, she can sacrifice her life for it. Once the girl joins a cause, you couldn’t have found a more reliable ally. She puts her heart and soul into whatever she is doing, and it is quite easy to tell if she doesn’t believe in a cause, because her reactions will show it. She needs little inspiration to engage in what she believes in, because her fiery passion will carry her all the way. She also tends to talk very fast when she's excited about something.
Supportive: Inasmuch as Levinia is reclusive, when someone gets to know her, they couldn’t have found a better friend. She is always willing to help out, even at her inconvenience, and she will readily hurry to the aid of anyone she can call a friend. She doesn’t count the favors she does for her allies, and always tries to ensure that everyone close to her is smiling at the end. She is completely supportive of her superiors, and will carry out their orders (though she may question their choice of action if it doesn’t seem logical). However, she will disobey amoral commands without a second thought, and is willing to face whatever consequences arise as a result.
Empathetic and selfless: Levinia has the wonderful ability to put herself in the shoes of others (as long as her emotions aren’t all over the place). She would make a very nurturing and capable leader (as she believes in seeing the best, and bringing out the best, in others), if only she believed more in herself (which she is learning to do, little by little). She finds it trivial to inconvenience herself on behalf of others, and her empathy makes her good at supporting people in trying times. As much as possible, she prefers to complete missions with everyone smiling at the end... but if she must face an evil creature that will not change, then as many good people smiling at the end as possible is the next best thing. Also, her readiness to forgive and help make her a very steadfast friend.
The Bad
Petty and sensitive: Levinia is smart and she knows it. It’s one of the things she takes pride in being good at. If she has come up with a plan, and someone else finds a different approach (that is not logically superior to hers), she will likely fuss over it, though more often than not, she will still defer to the higher power. Also, she doesn’t take criticism too well. A person who constantly criticizes her will make her think they have something personal against her, and she is more prone to take offense because of this.
Stubborn: Her decisiveness has a downside: it makes Levinia very stubborn. She is open to change, but if there is no “good” reason to alter something, don’t expect her to. Once she has set her mind to do something, she likes to see it to the end, no matter what it costs her. This is offset by her empathy, because once she is aware that her actions are causing the sufferings of others, she will quickly desist.
Shy-ish: Levinia is no longer as withdrawn as she was before she found a way to cure her physical ailment, but she is still sort of shy. Naturally intimidating people can cow or awe her into silence, but constant and flagrant use of such tactics will soon result in open rebellion against such a person. She is still a bit reticent around new people, but still tries to make people feel comfortable around herself. Most people are not too eager to get close to her, however, when they discover the strange edge of her magic (mind reading), but to her credit, she tries never to use this power trivially, but only when necessary. Still, it is difficult, because a lack of concentration on her part can cause her mind to "wander" into the thoughts of another. Oh yes, she's also quite the prude, and gets easily uncomfortable with ribald stories and behavior.
Messiah Complex: This is most noticeable in combat. Levinia does not seem to care much for her own well-being, when gambits are concerned. She has no issues playing dangerous tactics just to turn the tide of battle. To her credit, she is not needlessly rash, but once the battle is getting intense, and something drastic has to be done, she has no qualms stepping up to it and offering herself as bait. Of course, this can easily cut short her life.
Turbulent: Levinia is still very emotional, and is learning to create a healthy personal opinion of herself. She often worries about what others think about her, and is almost always evaluating her actions in her head. Her emotions tend to be hurt easily, and she can be quite touchy about various subjects, especially her looks.
Vengeful: If, by some reason, someone makes an enemy out of Levinia, she will seek to even the scores relentlessly. Hurting her loved ones or doing anything else that cuts deeply into her heart might get her on a path of retribution, so much so that if neither party desists, it will surely end in the demise of one of them.[/spoiler]
Likes:
- Invention: Trained to be a grease monkey, Levinia enjoys fiddling with technology and seeing what she can come up with, using scrapyard junk and spare parts. However, when suitable materials are available, she is capable of designing impressive inventions.
- Knowledge: Knowledge is power, so they say. It also applies in combat. The more Levinia knows about something, the more comfortable she is, so she always seeks to learn more. She also wants to learn more about how magic, curses and healing spells work.
- Swords: Interestingly, Levinia has a thing for swords. She knows a lot about the weapons, and knows how to handle them effectively. Don’t be surprised to see her gushing about the design of a sword, the quality of its steel blade, and so on. She also loves to improve on her sword skill by testing it against various oppositions.
- Singing: Levinia loves to sing, and has a very clear and sweet voice. Who knows whether she might have ended up a music star, if only she had the boldness to face those overwhelming crowds?
- Hunting: Her major occupation, for now. It’s one of the ways Levinia plays her own part to make Earthland safe. Besides, learning about nature is fun, and the job lets her see new places and encounter new things, thus adding to her knowledge. She currently has a bestiary on strange creatures of Earthland that she is working on. Her hunting job goes beyond animals, though, to cover the mysterious and occult.
Dislikes:
- Her People: Sadly, her own people were responsible for her “curse”, which had forced on her a freakish, deformed appearance. She wants nothing whatsoever to do with them, but even now that she has found healing, they still seem to hunt her.
- Bullies: Being at the bottom of the food chain for most of her young life, Levinia detests those who use their power to oppress others.
- Unnecessary Killing:It sounds strange for one wielding a sword, who loves a good fight, but Levinia sees life as sacred, and will not willingly kill anyone, no matter who they are. However, she has less scruples with killing demons and other creatures who revel in wanton destruction.
Motivations:
- Curse Lifter: Because of her past predicament, Levinia is very interested in attaining the power to break and lift even the most powerful curses. As a result, she seeks out such knowledge, and tries to break such maledictions whenever she can.
- Heroine of Earthland: Levinia has always wanted to feel loved and accepted, not only by people close to her, but by most of everybody out there. She hopes to become powerful enough to be recognized by all as a helper of the people and protector of Earthland.
- Power: Levinia wants to become powerful enough to protect herself and those dear to her. While she may not do anything to attain power, she definitely seeks it in as many legit ways as possible.
Fears:
- Losing her humanity: Levinia’s curse was slowly transforming her into a monster. And even now that she has gotten rid of it, there seem to be indications from various angles that she will end up becoming a destroyer of worlds. That is the last thing she wants, but she doesn't even know how to go about preventing this.
- Being captured by “her people”: The last thing Levinia wants is to be enslaved again by the same people that turned her into what she is today. If she ever faces them again, she hopes to be strong enough to escape their clutches... or bring them to justice for what they have done to her.
- Dying Unsung: Levinia is afraid that due to her being young and somewhat socially awkward, people would easily forget her, and she would die without being remembered or celebrated.

General Appearance
Height: Five feet three inches
Weight: 125 pounds
Hair: Strawberry blonde
Eyes: Emerald green
Skin Tone: Somewhat pale
Appearance:
- The Looks:
- Levinia Arx Creuset is easily what people would refer to as a "carrot top", as her hair is a rather pretty shade of strawberry blonde, being a warm mixture of what appears to be pink and orange. Her tresses are more or less straight, and long enough to fall to the middle of her back. She takes pride in it, always keeping it well groomed and in various styles that complement what she is doing at the moment. She tends to tie her hair into buns or high ponytails when working on her machines or hunting, and leaving it to fall free when not engaged in any serious business. Whatever style she goes for, some locks always fall over her forehead and frame the sides of her heart-shaped face.
Her eyes are a deep shade of emerald green, standing in contrast to her somewhat pale skin, and framed by naturally long eyelashes. They have this quality of appearing to gaze into one's soul, and even though many consider them beautiful, her fixated stares are considered to be unnerving, even for one so petite in stature. Her face does not hide the fact that the girl is barely an adult, what with the large eyes, small, upturned nose and small mouth with puckered lips. Her lips are naturally pink, and her teeth are well formed, being a dazzling white.
She may be short, but Levinia is athletic and shapely, with people describing her as having a larger than average bust, slim waist and wide hips. Her limbs are well formed and slim, ending in deceptively delicate looking digits, but she is conspicuously missing her right arm, from the middle of her upper arm. She is more or less energetic, but her fervor is offset by a graceful feminine gait. Her body is always surrounded by a mass of small, ever-moving runes that revolve around her, thanks to her peculiar magic. The runes can attach themselves to her body to resemble tribal tattoos, or link to form bangles, when she must enter an area where magic is outlawed.
Her voice is characteristically silvery, and its gentleness make people wonder if the girl can actually raise her voice to shout loud enough for people at a distance to hear.
- The Threads:
- Levinia has done away with the baggy clothes and bandages, nowadays opting for whatever is comfortable and practical. She tends to favor full body armor suits when on her hunts, with glowing lachryma designs (for effect). In her workshop, she wears a jumpsuit, which she may zip down and tie the sleeves around her waist. Beneath the jumpsuit, she wears a midriff baring tank top and shorts. Her normal outfits vary, but she interestingly prefers short sleeves or sleeveless tops, and denim pants. If she wears skirts, they tend to be short. She does not mind wearing heels, as she has successfully mastered the art of sprinting in them.
Connected to the stump of her right arm is her Alchemy Arm, her personal invention that utilizes state of the art technology to enable the prosthetic limb function just like her real arm, sense stimuli, and even cast her magic, as well as having some abilities of its own. It has some grooves within which parts of the lachryma-weave that power up the arm can be seeing, emitting a gentle glow.
Guild: None
Tattoo: Will be located on her right shoulder, of a black color.
