Description:
The universe is infinite, or so it is assumed. Human comprehension is not equipped to process the vastness of reality, the vastness of existence, and yet, existence does not differ from itself fundamentally. In essence, all matter in our universe is created equal, not from a physical standpoint, but from a literal one. What was once part of the same has, over the course of history, broken apart into physical existence as we understand it today. While this fact is widely accepted, the inherent properties shared by all existence elude most people, all things past, present, and future sharing an inherent connection to one another based on the energies contained within them, echoes of creation that still ripple through reality. Whatever, or whoever created existence as we know it is a highly debated topic among both scientists and religious leaders, all interpreting this echo in a different way, though the fact remains that most people cannot understand what they cannot perceive, only very few born with the ability to feel and use those echoes. Shen is among those few, who, due to the innate abilities of his magic, has gained the ability to feel, perceive, manipulate, and influence these echoes of creation, as well as absorb and store them for use in magical abilities, transforming them into the forces of the cosmos itself. It seems, though, that the concentration of this enigmatic cosmic power has earned the young man some attention from whatever it was that produced these same powers to begin with, some force taking a special interest in Shen and manifesting within him inherent abilities as he continues to discover and expand his knowledge of his magical abilities and the cosmos alike.
Abilities:
- Breath of Creation: Shen, based on the nature of his magic, possesses the ability to perceive and interact with the remnants of creation left behind by something enigmatic without shape or clear intent. These remnants, energy inherent to everything, with almost no exceptions, can be manipulated and, to some extent, utilized by converting it into magic, with an impressive result. This increases Shen's base Spell Damage, base Spell Speed, base Speed, and base Spell Range by 50% each. As trade-offs, Shen cannot deal melee damage by any means, his base HP is lowered by 200 HP, he is unable to benefit from any increases to Spell Damage Reductions and Melee Damage Reductions, and he is unable to benefit from increases to HP under any and all circumstances. - Will of the Cosmos: Becoming aware of the fabric of reality is not something that many have done. Of course, understanding this fabric is no easy task, but certain individuals are better equipped to do so than others. While Shen doesn't yet understand, he can manipulate, and it seems that someone, or something, has taken an interest in this ability, even if only on a conceptual level. Whatever cosmic power this is, it expands the young man's conceptual understanding of his own magic greatly. This grants Shen 5 additional spell slots to be used on a single one of his magics. Further, Shen also gains 5 additional advanced spell slots for a single magic (which must be distributed according to normal advanced spell maximums, 2 D+, 2 C+, 2 B+, 2 A+, 1 S+). Lastly, Shen gains 2 additional advanced spell slots for one of his magics which rank up with the user, one up to S+ Rank and the other to H+ Rank. All of these spell slots function like regular spells of their corresponding kind and must be made, reviewed, and approved like any other spell. The downsides to this are that Shen suffers from two permanent debuffs, a 50% debuff to Spell Damage Reduction and a 50% debuff to Melee Damage Reduction. Further, Shen cannot benefit from Regeneration effects that apply to his HP, which will not restore his HP, regardless of whether these effects are active or passive. Lastly, Shen's HP is permanently reduced by 100 HP. (6 Effects - 4 Effects for Drawbacks = 2 Effects)
- Cosmic Arms: Shen uses the influence of his magic in a variety of beneficial ways, allowing him to expand his abilities and embody part of the cosmos. This grants him 2 additional Signature Spell Slots, both ranking with the user up to S rank, for a single magic. Further, Shen also grants an additional active Requip slot, allowing him to use an additional active Requip spell on top of the other ones he could potentially use. (2 Effects)
- Boon of the Universe: While manipulating the course of fate and strings that bind together the universe appears like an overwhelming and daunting task, Shen influences it subconsciously through the power bestowed to him via his magic. For reasons unknown to him, he seems to be lucky in some regards, gaining an additional 100% Jewels from completed jobs. Further, he also gains the ability to earn an additional piece of equipment from every completed job, following the Job Tables for the grade of equipment earned corresponding to the rank of job. Equipment earned this way cannot be sold or refunded to any shop or any other player. Equipment earned this way can, however, be freely traded amongst the player's own characters. (2 Effects)
- Plot Abilities:
- Clairvoyance: Shen, due to the nature of his magic, has unlocked limited abilities to see and perceive the past, present, and future, to gain information pertaining to certain individuals, events, or locations. This also grants him limited precognition which can be used in battle, essentially allowing him to see events shortly before they unfold and thus predict an opponent's move, for example (This ability cannot be used in PvP. In order to gain any information of any sort about a player, player-owned NPC, or Event NPC, OOC permission must first be obtained)
- Cosmic Body: Ever since the young man unlocked his magic, his body has become gradually influenced by the forces that he controls. Shen's body recovers from minor to moderate injuries much quicker than that of the average human, healing small cuts in mere minutes while healing more serious wounds in a matter of hours or a couple of days. This also makes him somewhat resistant to natural disease and poisons. While this is the case, however, the most serious and severe injures or trauma, like for any other human, still inflict permanent and irreparable damage as normal, such as losing a limb or suffering organ damage. A side effect of this ability is that Shen's blood seems altered. Instead of liquid, it appears to be in a state of semi-gaseous and semi-liquid, remaining liquid while contained inside of him, though quickly evaporating once leaving his body. His blood, further, also does not possess a normal red color, instead glowing in a golden hue (This ability has no influence on PvP Combat and the user still takes damage normally).
- Senses: Through his magic and somewhat altered body, Shen enjoys a few improvements to his existing senses, most notably his sense of smell and sight. While his sense of smell is better and more precise than that of average people, it doesn't quite hold up to his excellent sense of sight, with the exception of blood, which can be smelled from miles away, whether it is contained in a person or free. His sense of sight, however, extends far beyond the capabilities of a normal human, allowing him to see dozens of miles clearly, judge distance and speed of moving objects with extreme accuracy if they can be perceived, and in special cases, when paired with his clairvoyance, allows him to see past physical obstructions or barriers and maintain a clear visual on a target regardless.
