A debt won't pay itself... Empty A debt won't pay itself...

How long had it been since his life had been drastically restarted? One month? Two months? Time seemed to be passing in a blur, each passing day smearing across the Dark Knight's mind so much that it was comparable to the blood that was smeared upon the ground with every step he had taken since that day. But for certain, regardless of how long it had been, the resurrected warrior had found himself in a land far different from the one he'd been reborn in. The creatures here far exceeded the size of even the largest butcher he'd seen in his apparent home country of Pergrande, although this was perhaps fitting for a land of which was infamous for having rather chubby beasts. Unfortunately for these obese creatures, the knight was now in their homelands. Almost as soon as he'd entered this peculiar land he had been set upon by some massive monstrosity intent on making him their latest little snack, only to find its life extinguished in the blink of an eye. The fat bugger was on the table tonight.

Odin Warr continued his venture across Fat Monsterland, dragging his grotesque trophy along the ground behind him in one hand while his other held the reins of his trusted steed Aurelio. While this would certainly suffice for tonight, he still lacked that which he really required to survive; a human target. In the time he'd spent here, Odin had yet to find a fellow human being. How was he to pay his debt if there was no-one here? The thought however had not crossed the hardened knight's mind, nor would it need to. After all, by the powerful magical energy that he was beginning to feel in the air around him, he would surely find a suitable payment before long.

It had been a while since Lyserg had dismissed two of his members who had been stepping out of line slightly without regard towards his opinion. Without much talk he had simply warned them. Something both of them didn't seem to take note of or care about. Lyserg would need some time later on to talk to the two arrogant youths that hadn't been stepping on his toes for the first time. But that wasn't important right now. He was still standing far outside the guild grounds. Something lingering in the air had caught his attention. It was a fickle feeling, but seemed omnipresent.

Not quite there, yet lingering in the air he had sensed a magical presence. Or rather, not magical, but a living presence that seemed so unusual to him it had brought him to go on and search the flatlands for something. There was a small hill beyond the point where Alakai Kaido and Yugi Sparrow had had their little matchup. This hill blocked the vision from around the area over to the other side enough that Lyserg had felt forced to walk across it. And simple enough, just as he hit the highest point and steered over the side, he spotted something in the distance. It was monstrous. One of the beasts from the clan he had gathered here hundreds of years ago. But it was dead. That only left one conclusion. An intruder.

Squinting, Lyserg couldn't see far enough to see what the black figure was, but somehow he couldn't get a human feeling off of it. Sighing, he made his way downwards as he saw that this figure was actually dragging the dead beast behind it like a trophy. It was somewhat surprising that the beast had not managed to alert the rest of its clan with its death. But as with the gigantic nature of these lands, the beasts were scattered all around. With haste in his feet, Lyserg swished across the dirt. Soon enough, he wasn't far enough from the figure.

Now, far far away from the guild grounds where nobody would hear him, he didn't feel the need to hold back anymore. He wanted to let this figure know what kind of person he was dealing with. Taking in a deep breath, Lyserg released the full extent of his magical pressure. And whilst he hadn't done this in an extremely long time, his control was somewhat off. Instantly, there was a large gust of wind force that pushed the dirt across these lands and centered around the figure before him. There was no way he would simply let an intruder walk these lands. He wanted to know what he was doing here, and he wanted to let him know that he wasn't welcome here.

The magical energy had grown stronger and stronger with every step the dark knight took. It appeared as if the source of the power was approaching him at the same pace as he himself was walking, which wasn't difficult given the fact that Odin was carrying a huge monster behind him. As he made it to the top of a hill he was able to make out a lone figure in the distance; a lone yet powerful figure, as a burst of energy flew across the ground and caused Aurelio to whinny in surprise. Odin hadn't expected this action either as he had to quickly brace himself so that he wasn't pushed back down the way he had walked. Whoever this figure was, it was from him that this phenomenal magical energy was emanating.

"That's a powerful soul." he spoke, as he let go of the beast and of the reins to his steed. He rolled his right shoulder once before he began walking down the other side of the hill towards Lyserg. Clearly this man didn't appreciate Odin's intrusion. This just made the resurrected warrior want this soul more.

A horse, and a man clad in black armor with golden linings dragging a gigantic creature behind him. Lyserg was unsure what to make of this scene. But what was happening anyways was that the man clad in black armor apparently didn't mind the pressure Lyserg put out. Or in fact, took it as a challenge. It was then, that he decided to take a closer look at him as he was finally in his field of vision.

The paddings he was wearing didn't reveal too much about themselves, but it was something significant that caught Lyserg's attention. It was the linings of the material it was made of. Not many knew, but in the east of Earthland the metal was much more potent and denser than in the west. Something that allowed the Pergrande Kingdom to create armor that was that much heavier than smithery of the west. Squinting his eyes, Lyserg was somewhat unsure.

The Pergrande Kingdom wasn't known to school their soldiers in magical proficiency. But it seemed that there was an unnatural, magical presence around this person. And what was a fully equipped Pergrandian knight seeking in these parts of Fiore anyway? Looking further, Lyserg noticed that the man held a blade. But it wasn't just any blade. He knew the kind. It was the blade of Pergrandes generals. With a huff, he went on to notice the particular walk the man had. It was distinct. It was that of a swordsman.

With widened shoulders and an armor that allowed a swordsman to be flexible where it was important, especially around the knees, elbows and abdomen, he strongly opposed all of the pressure Lyserg was emitting. Something that was quite impressive already. Tilting his head, Lyserg felt an urge. A man skilled with the blade. More skilled than he? Impossible. He may have more strength, but Lyserg's skill with a blade was unrivaled. In a whole 2400 years of consistent training, not even sword mages were able to best him in a battle of only swords. He wasn't the best, but he pulled along the best with ease.

Swordsmanship had a distinguished sense of art alongside physical and mental perfection. It was different from shooting with a bow or weilding bigger weapons. A sword held the optimal amount of balance. Ever since his youth Lyserg had been facinated and his practice has never once rested. Albeit the last battle lying a few decades in the past. He rarely used swordsmanship to battle an opponent seriously. It was an art, not a method of violence. To him at least.

As his train of thought went on whilst the knight was approaching him, it ended at the point where Lyserg decided to go along this and even take the first step. He was confident that he would not lose. Pergrande knights had the finest of education in the art of the sword, no doubt. But to match the multitude and mastery of the dozens of styles, one of which happened to be the Pergrande state of the arts swordsmanship, was unthinkable. He had versatility and variety on almost any swordsman alive.

Under his cloak, both of his blades on his left side, Lyserg's left hand silently and invisibly slid to his smaller blade, Taube. However, before he would make the first strike attempt using the drawing style of the north Midian Feng clan that utilize stealthy tactics to create pre-emptive killing stirkes, Lyserg wouldn't let the urge of a challenge take him over that quickly. Stretching his right arm out gently with an only slightly open hand, he glared at the oncomer directly. "I do not sincerely wish for a clash with you. We can talk through this rationally, I am sure. Please, state your name and purpose and we might have a good start." He said, calmly and authorative as ever, waiting for the armored man to engage. He was sure his words wouldn't be heard. It didn't seem like the approaching force was something to be reasoned with. Something he wasn't quite sure what to make of.

While Odin's memories and the majority of his emotions were void from his mind, the honour he held from his time as a General of the Pergrande army was something that had stuck with him throughout his transformation into the Dark Knight. As the two men now stood just meters from one another Odin could feel the full extent of his would-be opponent's magical power that seemed to exude from every pore in his body. What was more, Lyserg's words had cut through the near-silence like a knife, an authoritative tone that Odin felt oddly familiar with. It held a level of respect, such as a knight should before dueling. Respect for the opponent was important back then, and it was equally as important now as he kept his hands to his sides, not yet drawing his blade.

"Words alone will not prevent my actions. However, your honour is something I respect and appreciate." His cold, equally authoritative voice replied, before he placed a hand over his abdomen and bowed his head. "My name is Odin Warr. I've a debt to pay and only blood shall suffice." He raised his head and looked Lyserg in the eyes, although whether Lyserg would sense that through the Dark Knight's helm was another matter entirely.

No blood has been spilled yet today. He will not be pleased.
