It was beginning to seem that where she went, there was always another gang of crooks who were trying to make a nuisance of themselves. The kitsune wondered if perhaps she’d picked up a curse or something but all she could do was try to make the best of the situation. She’d only come to Oshibana so that she could catch another train onwards and yet once the brunette haired vixen had arrived at the station and got out to stretch her legs, the sound of gunshots could be heard. Magical guns she assumed from the sound of them, causing her to briefly cringe. Guns were annoying at the best of times but it seemed that there was nothing for it. She was going to have to get involved, even if the selfish side told her to just get on the train and move on.
Twitching her ears, the crimson eyed woman briefly had an internal argument with herself about what to do but there was only one real choice and so she entered through the large double doors and walked towards the crooks, who seemed to be rather surprised by her appearance as they turned towards her. There were about half a dozen of them in total, all wearing masks and wielding all different kinds of weaponry, from pistols to rifles and there was even one at the back holding what looked like a minigun. They were awfully well equipped for such a simple robbery but she wasn’t that afraid. If she could beat that electric entity during her job with Mura then she could beat these guys, if need be.
“Alright guys. You’re busted. Just throw the guns away and we can sort this out right now.” She said almost casually, coming to a halt about ten feet away from them.
“Are you mad? We outnumber you six to one. If anyone’s going to get sorted out, it’s you.” The largest of the six replied, seemingly the leader, pointing his rifle at the kitsune. “We’d hate to gun down such a cutie like you but we will if you don’t lay down and put your hands behind you like the rest.” Motioning his head to the right, Menka could see the station staff bound and gagged, helpless and unable to do much of anything.
“That’s not happening,” she chuckled, her body charging with electricity as she tapped into her magic just a little, hoping to maybe scare them off without the need for actual combat. “Come on. Noone’s been seriously hurt. Let’s talk about this before it’s too late...”
A shot from one of the robbers rang out at that point, cutting her off mid sentence and barely missing her. It had come from one at the back, wielding a powerful sniper rifle. That was all it took for pandemonium to burst into life and as if on cue, the other gunmen started opening fire at the mage, forcing her to quickly start dancing out of the way of the magical bullets. Accessing a couple of her spells, Menka’s body and hands would begin to pulse with lightning in order to give her spell power a nice boost, before charging forwards towards the gunmen and unleashing a powerful barrage of lightning charged melee attacks that seemed to catch them unaware. Moving as quickly as possible, she’d lash out without prejudice, striking out at whichever gunman she could reach. They did their best to spread out but the vixen was able to take two of them out of the fight before they could really do much. Four to go.
The others were a little better though and started to roll behind cover and keep her occupied with covering fire, much to her annoyance or at least three of them anyway. The fourth wielding the minigun was standing right in front of her, opening fire with a powerful barrage of bullets that forced her to jump upwards in order to get out of the way. It was a powerful weapon and she so badly wanted to make a joke but she managed to push it aside and instead caused a lightning whip to form in her hands, which she then cracked towards him. It flew like an arrow and struck the gunner hard, causing them to briefly electrify and then tumble backwards, completely stunned.
The last three seemed to be spooked by this point and their attacks became more and more ragged, seeming to fire all over the place and having less and less chance of hitting her. In fact, they were just as likely to have hit the station staff than her and that thought was what caused her to quicken the pace. A sniper rifle round would narrowly miss her ear and with a slight growl, the vixen would spin around and start to charge with lightning once more, smashing through the feeble piece of wood that he’d been hiding behind and slamming hard into him. The force was enough to hurl him back and send him crashing into the station wall.
That was enough for the last two and without another shot being fired, the pair threw out their guns and laid face down on the ground. Unfortunately, Menka hadn’t come prepared with anything to bind them with but once she’d freed the station staff from their bonds, they quickly took it upon themselves to deal with the thugs, binding them as they had been tied themselves. The vixen couldn’t help but notice the looks of revenge that seemed to cross their faces which caused Menka to chuckle.
Well, nearly all of them had looks of revenge on their faces. One young lady instead had a far more appreciative look across her face and approached Menka instead. “Thank you so much for saving us. I have no idea what would’ve happened if you hadn’t come along and you really did us a favour. I’d hate to see you go unrewarded for your efforts so please take this as a gift.” With a chuckle, the woman produced a small and handed it over to the mage.
“What’s this?” Menka asked curiously, about to flip open the box's lid.
“No peeking!” The staff member replied, placing a hand on top of the box to keep it closed. “I’ll just say it'll help with those lovely powers of yours. I’m not sure what you have to do to activate it but I’m sure one of your mage friends will know. Thanks again for helping us.” Turning away, the blonde haired woman made to leave.
“Wait a second!” The vixen answered with a smirk, “How about giving me your number too?”
“Greedy,” The lovely woman answered, turning back around and writing her number down on the top of the box. “You’d better call me or there’ll be trouble.”
“Oh, don’t worry. I will.” Menka chuckled, before the two parted ways.
