Personality: Rather recluse when introduced to strangers, Ambrose is not the best in social situations that involve a lot of people. Fortunately, he's not so socially deprived that he's unable to push through conversations, but in doing so can be quite taxing. However, there's an odd personality shift that takes place when he's using magic. The meek boy becomes quite concentrated and tactical in his approach. There is little hesitation, violent or otherwise when he enters that frame of mind. When treated as a higher up, it's naturally an uncomfortable place for Ambrose, as he is often perceived as a lone wolf. When instructing others, it can come off as rather detached and rude, though this is usually never the boy's intention.

When working under others, he usually falls into line unless something directly conflicts with his own morals. While dangerous in some situations, this can be beneficial in the right circumstances. Another peculiar aspect of the boy is that he does not lie, not because of some sort of moral code, but because it feels inherently wrong. Easily attributed to lineage, the boy holds value in the truth. Those who lie to him with the intent to deceive are immediately seen as lesser to him. Ironically though, the boy can be awfully trusting of strangers, though that's partly because he finds it difficult to read their intent without magic.

With those that the boy has become comfortable with, his personality starts a shine through a bit more. He is kind and caring to those he has formed relationships with, and will often go beyond what is expected to help them. At the same time, once trust has been established, he will not rely on his magic to affirm their intentions. Any relationship that requires magic to trust someone, is artificial to him and is only really ever the case when it's strictly professional.

Likes:

• Honesty: Those who can be honest to others generally find themselves in the boy's good graces. Those who lie aren't automatically judged, but a reason for it needs to be given.
  
• Books: He likes to read on his offtime: fiction, non-fiction, arcane texts, whatever he can get his hands on.
  
• Sweets: It's a crippling addiction.
  

Dislikes:

• Deception: Liars are often selfish and care only for themselves, which is an attribute that the boy abhors.
  
• Cruelty: Mercy is a virtue, and to see cruelty in action is enough illicit anger.
  
• Vegetables: They're way too bitter, no matter how healthy they are.
  

Motivations:

• Justice: Criminals should be put to justice for their actions, especially when it infringes or harms others.
  
• Protection: He wants to protect others, as it's his only real connection to other people. Misuse of magic often leads to disorder and poses a danger to everyone.
  
• Knowledge: One must understand history to ensure mistakes don't happen twice. Whether it's interpersonal or not, books and scrolls often hold the answer.
  

Fears:

• Betrayl: Having experienced it with those he once considered family, Ambrose is far more critical when forming new relationships.
  
• Death: He doesn't fear his own death, but rather the death of those he cares about. It's a visceral fear that pushes him to become stronger.
  
• Clowns: They're super creepy.
