There's more than meets the eye in the case of Elijah St Clough, but the fact he's grumpy and jaded is just the tip of the iceberg. That's without even stating he's also heartless, short-tempered and dominating, but at least they only show in smaller doses and mixed with behaviours of being carefully orchestrated decisions as well. Multiple enemies have been made because of this and his volatile nature, all of which have failed to outlive the hybrid. His centuries upon this world have made him wise but not the most patient of individuals. He has seen so much in his lifetime that he is easily exhausted by the repetitive, particularly pertaining to humanity and it's trivial concerns.
Needless to say, his fuse is short and it does not take much to anger the man. Often throughout his life his rage has led to poor decisions and many lives have been taken in the process, even sometimes of those who were close to him. The one thing that Elijah values more than anything is loyalty, gain his loyalty and he will destroy cities for you, betray him however and let it be your downfall. Forgiveness is not in this mans arsenal, it is something that he struggles to embody and perhaps had led him to some fruitless punishments in his time. The consequences for treachery are always harsher than they need be and are likely the reason why essentially he is a very lonely soul.
There was once a time when Elijah was surrounded by friends and family, a time that he was much happier. Yet it would seem that over the years those he once cherished have either died or abandoned him, pushed away by his volatile personality and selfish actions. It is something that he secretly craves, but he would never admit it.

Personality:
Benji, as he prefers to be known as is a spirited character, world travelled and mostly known as a 'cheeky chappie'. Those who he knows well know him as someone who likes a good laugh and ale to accompany it. He is quite witty and easily amused at things, outwardly he is often found to be quite cordial and much easier to get along with than his Master. However, he is not without his serious moments, particularly considering his 'situation'. Not bound to Elijah by choice, he suffers in silence as he is forced to do the mans bidding a punishment for his own history. It is a burden on his soul, particularly the separation between him and his own family. Still, despite his frustrations, he is a hardworking man, and a proud one too. He doesn't like others to see him in a weak state and is greatly resilient for it.
As an ex-pirate Captain he has not lived an exactly honest life, but he does have his own code that he follows. He is able to kill if need be, but takes no pleasure in it, at least not anymore. He considers such days long behind him and aspires for the more peaceful and jovial outcomes to any affair. Especially if they involve a drink at the end of it. All in all, he is a loyal man, mostly to family, a doting Father and a loving husband. He misses his family dearly and longs to return to them whenever he can.

Baseline Dimension: A fully grown Leshen can stand at up to seven or eight foot in height, they can weigh up to 250lbs. Some Leshen are capable of taking on human disguises, however, this requires a lot of magical energy to maintain. There are no specifications to their human forms as they will usual take of a human form they have seen themselves.
Baseline Appearance: A Leshen has the general outline of a human in stance but that is the only similarity, their bodies are made of earthly materials as their heads resemble the skull of a forest creature i.e deer, ram, goat etc.
Culture/Origin of Species:
Creatures as old as time itself, they are born from the forest to serve as it's guardian and protectors, believe by some to be gods. They are wielders of ancient magic and can be very dangerous if crossed.
Over many centuries, Leshen's have observed and witnessed the modernization of the human world, and with it many fell victim to it's technological advances. The act of deforestation left many Leshen's homeless and even resulted in the death of some of their species. As a result the Leshen's were infuriated with the humans, some even sort to fight them, resulting in a war of sorts between the species. However eventually the Leshen found this was only doing more damage to their motherland, resulting in devastated landscapes and forest fires. As a result, a peace treaty was formed between the species and now there are specific regions of forest that are covered by the Leshen Habitation Protection Treaty. Thus prohibiting humans from using them as resources or building on these areas of land. Over time, peace has become commonplace between the two species and the war long forgotten. Some Leshen have even integrated fully into Human Society and coexist with them.
Traits:
• Able to manipulate natural and earth based elements : Rock, Soil, Sand, Water and bend them to their will.
• A Leshen may summon thorny roots, crows or wolves to attack you, these attacks target a line directly in front of the Leshen.
• A Leshen can use their magic to disguise themselves amongst humans, however this requires a lot of magical energy. Rarely a Leshen will ignore this ability and maintain it's natural form at all times.
• They can communicate with woodland creatures, this is through the universal language and understanding. Leshen's can sense their thoughts, desires and emotions.
• The presence of a Leshen can restore any damage earthland around them, although this requires a lot of magical energy. They can also use this to heal wounds, even on humans, although their healing capabilities are restricted to their understanding of human biology.
Aries is a unique member of the Leshen species, being one of the few Leshen who decided to integrate with human society. He is much more calmer and stoic than a regular Leshen, and is much more of a Pacifist in nature in comparison to some of his more aggressive kin.
Leshen has a deep fascination with human behaviour, and will often respond to others with an inquisitive nature. He enjoys intellectual debates and will amuse himself by studying odd features of humanity i.e. jealousy. He tends to show little emotion, and can be a little less responsive to others, he would rather take think things over before dignifying them with a response. However, when he does formulate an answer, it is usually well-structured and supported with circumstantial or anecdotal evidence.
In terms of his ability to form relationships with others, Aries has no romantic qualities. He has never experienced love and only understands it from a logical perspective as the psychological and instinctive desire to find a mate. He is, however, open to friendships, he believes in the benefit of learning from others and has no qualms about company. Although he equally enjoys being alone, something a Leshen is naturally accommodated to.
Like Benji, he is enslaved to Elijah, however, he did so of his own choice. And as such is considered more of a companion and personal therapist to the hybrid as opposed to a slave.
History:
Bógiervestabron had originally lost his home many centuries ago, a result of a war waging between human tribes. The Leshen buried under burning rubble, expecting to die when the rain poured down on him. For a long time he resented humans, and even partook in the slaughter of humans during the war. However, when peace was found between the species he found himself lost and unsure of what to do. He was welcome to share the forest with his fellow Leshen, but felt this was not enough. He was curious about what he felt when he had killed those humans and so left the forest to learn more about these emotions.
Eventually, Bógiervestabron stumbled upon a village, at first the were scared of him, but a child approached him curiously. Seeing how the Leshen did not attempt to hurt the child, the Village chief, aware of the new treaty between the species, attempted to communicate with him. Although at this point he was not familiar with their language, they were able to communicate with each other. It was from then on he stayed and proceeded to learn about the humans. Growing with them, occasionally he would return to the forest for a few years. But he would always return to receive a warm welcome.
Eventually, he would undergo a great travesty, and in his most sorrowful state, he was saved by Elijah. Who refused to kill him at his request, as such he imployed the being to enslave him and punish him for his existence. And thus the two underwent into a magical contract.- Appearance:
