Thief King! [Quest ; Zenshin and Hikari]

Job: The King of Thieves

Player Requirements: Thread must be at least 20 posts long. C Ranked Wizards or Above. Or a combination of two D Ranked Wizards or more. 200 Words Minimum Each Post.

Job Requirements: Retrieve the huge crate of stolen Lacrima from the Desert Thieves Cartel HQ. 3 wizards maximum are allowed on this Mission / Job.

Job Location: Forgotten Desert

Job Description: A gigantic shipment of Lacrima that was supposed to reach Era days ago has been stolen by an organization calling themselves. "The Cartel", your client was one of the victims of this assault and describes them as brutal warriors, with both skill and determination. They do not quit, and will chase you if you flee. They will let you live, if you give them what they want. Otherwise, they are completely ruthless. They beset them on their journey through a nearby area, and retreated into the Desert upon accomplishing their goal. You set out from whichever town you accept this mission from and head there immediately. They wear white turbans that cover their head and mouths completely, are draped in all black desert robes, with white boots; which are quite dusty no doubt. The Cartel's HQ is built inside of the old ruins of a once great city; you can spot the ruins of the ancient city from a mile off, and see the white and black turban outfits of the Cartel from a distance. Although they may spot you as well at this distance.

Enemies:
Weak: Cartel Recruits (These guys are quite simple too deal with, and wield anything from a longsword, a scimitar, too a sword and shield. However they are inexperienced and not used too being in the desert as they're green too the Cartel. They go down in two hits of C-Ranked damage at the most, maybe even one. If you intimidate them well enough; they may just choose too re-think their decision too join the Cartel and flee from the desert base.

Normal: Cartel Swordsman x10 (These guys are skilled. They wield scimitars and great hammers. They're very nimble, and strike, move, and circle their opponents during the course of the fight through excellent footwork and quick attacks. They use smoke Lacrima and will attempt too use them a few times if they aren't taken out quickly. If hit with a smoke Lacrima you won't be able too see their next attack coming. Takes 3 hits of C-Ranked damage too take each one down. They sword slashes and great hammer strikes do C-Ranked damage.)

Strong: Cartel Wizards x5 (Now you're in trouble. The Cartel's Wizards are no joke. They use both Fire and Wind magic with incredible levels of skill. They will attempt too whim up dust storms, and shred you with wind as well. They are also quick too cast AOE fire spells that can turn the sand too glass in an instant; throwing it around through the air too slice. They wield steel bo-staff with black and white feathers tied too the top of them. Just because they're wizards doesn't mean they won't fight you in melee. They are in the Cartel after all. They wield their bo-staffs with all the skill of one who practices each day. Their Wind and Fire spells range from D-Ranked, to C-Ranked, to B-Ranked for the AOE fire spell. Takes 5 hits of C-Ranked damage too take each one down.)

Boss: The King of Thieves (This individual...is deserving of the title. He wears the standard white turban of the Cartel, with their usual black robes and white boots. However he is draped in gold and jewelry. He himself is a wizard. His scimitars are made of an unknown alloy, and have golden runic writing etched through them. He uses Telekinesis too throw his scimitars through the air, whirling them and controlling them as they fly around and strike you like buzz saws. He also can use his telekinesis too leap vast distances and may simply hit you with a wave of force too send you flying. He is one of the most skilled swordsman you've seen, and has will of one befitting his title. He takes 15 hits of C-Ranked damage too take down. His telekinesis waves do B-Ranked damage and his scimitar slashes do C-Ranked slashes. He rolls 4 attacks / telekinesis waves each round. Good luck, because he is NOT going to let some young wizard(s) take the gigantic room sized crate of Lacrima back too Era...not at all.)

(Note: You may persuade him too give you the Lacrima, if you're willing too part with 100k Jewels on the spot, if not, he's likely attacking you immediately if you're not an interested buyer. Since you've discovered the location of the Cartel's HQ.)

Though Zenshin had just joined Sabertooth, he wasn't taking too long of a break from jobs, as he had already taken up another one from their guild's quest board. It wasn't filled with the most high of level missions, so he decided to just take one that was C ranked and take a fellow guild member. He had remembered seeing her when he first introduced himself to the guild a few hours prior to this job of theirs. Offering to take her on this quest to help her on her way to D rank, she gladly accepted his offer. His first day in and he was already making allies in the guild, well, this could be going so much worse... hopefully learning recreation doesn't kill me and I continue to go on quests with other guild members he thought while his falcon dashed in the warm, dry air above the forgotten desert.

Snapping his fingers, his falcon tilted its head down slightly, diving closer and closer to the sand before raising its head back up before it touched the hand. On both sides, the grainy rock was being sent everywhere thanks to the force of the air caused by his creation's wings. The bird was flying at full speed, as fast as a jet, and was about to fly right into a populated village, where he told Hikari to meet him. Just before it hit the village, it flapped its wings forward with its full force while pulling up, bringing it to a full stop and leaving a few startled villagers in awe. His fingers snapped once more and the creation turned into gas right under him, leaving Zen to fall on his feet and the creation to literally, go up in smoke. Now to wait for the girl...

So, Hikari was going on a mission with Zenshin, who just joined Sabertooth also. Sabertooth has been growing a lot, lately, with many new members joining the guild and she has been getting along with them.

Damn! Where is this village? Hikari searched around the place  and strode along the way. Zenshin had asked her to meet him at a village, but where the heck is it?! Hikari didn't even know where she was going. Obviously, she's lost. Again. She's never good with streets and places. Maybe, something's wrong with her memory. Hikari just rolled her eyes and trotted quickly to wherever the place she was going to.

After walking for like hours, Hikari finally caught sight of a .... village? She squinted her eyes to see clearer. She gasped. YES! FINALLY!, She jumped around and grinned as if she'd ruled the world. Hikari ran towards the village and looked around for Zenshin. Hm, he should be here, The village was congested. She had to squeeze through the crowds just to get to a place.

Whoosh! The wind blew hard. Hikari turned around and saw a huge bird flapping its large wings as it landed on the ground and poofed into smoke. That must be him! Hikari rushed and finally found him, looking for someone. "Oi! Zenshin!" Hikari waved, as she sighed in relief and walked up to him.

"Oi! Zenshin!" a voice called out to him, not too long before dismounting his creation. Looks like she had no trouble finding her way to the village. That's good, at least she's no stranger to direction he thought while walking up to her. "Hey Hikari, nice to finally be able to go on a job where people show up!" he told her cheerfully as he clapped his hands together, pressed them together and made a rose. The rose itself was full of detail, stunning to those who didn't know how ice make worked, impressive to those who did.

Zenshin hadn't gone on an actual job with others in quite a bit of time, and this was also his first job with a member of Sabertooth, so he decided to give her the small gift out of appreciation for actually showing up. "Thank you. Anyways, our job is to get back a huge crate of lacrima stolen by some group going by the name of, the cartel." he told her. What kind of silly name is that. "I picked this place because it's only two or three miles away from their hideout, so we should get there pretty quickly. Anything you want to do before we head off?"

Hikari watched as Zenshin clapped his hands together and created a flower, which was made of ice, and gave it to her. Hikari raised an eyebrow, impressed with Zenshin. "Why thank you very much, Zenshin," Hikari smiled and twirled the flower in her hands. It was crafted very carefully and looked exquisite. She stared at it, taking all the little details of the flower.

Zenshin began explaining about the job they were going to do. It was to get back a huge crate of lacrima stolen by the cartel. Hikari wondered if she'll be able to do the job. Afterall, she is still a newbie to magics and such. She started panicking. I guess I'll be okay. Zenshin is with me so I don't have to worry, She reassured herself. Hikari hated the fact that she was going to have to depend on Zenshin. She never liked depending on others, anyway. But what can she do? She's just a little, weak mage. Lost in her own thoughts, she forgot that Zenshin was there, together with her. He had asked whether Hikari wanted to do anything before they go on to their mission. She was startled a bit, "Umm ... Nope. Let's go."

"Right then!" he told Hikari with a smile on his face while he turned around and led the way towards where the location was. This was a job ranked rather low on the list, so he just took it as a way to become acquainted with a new guild member, as well as learn one thing or another about his new mentor and guild. Zen almost looked back and thought if leaving the guild in such a manner was right or not, then quickly snapped out of it, I never think back on my decisions, it's pointless. On a side note, he was rather happy that she liked the gift he gave her, as she was one of the more attractive members of the guild, actually, there are only two females in the guild. Oh well he thought, mentally stomping his foot while snapping his fingers. Zenshin also had to remember, his guild mate was D rank, so relatively speaking, this was a rather difficult job for a fledgling mage like herself, I'll be more than enough to protect her if it comes to that he reassured himself. "Mind if I ask a few questions to pass the time? Like, what kind of guild master is Aegis, and how long has a good looking lady like you been a mage?" he told her, sneakily flirting with her while trying to get his point across.

Hikari followed behind Zenshin as he led the way towards the location of their mission. She held the flower in her hand, twirling it and at the same time, worrying about whether she'll be able to complete her mission. Hikari facepalmed for being so not confident about her abilities.

"Mind if I ask a few questions to pass the time? Like, what kind of guild master is Aegis, and how long has a good looking lady like you been a mage?"

Her thoughts were distracted from his questions. She let out a laugh when he said the word "a good looking lady". "Hm, I just joined Sabertooth a few weeks ago so you could say I don't know about our guildmaster that much. He seemed kind, a person who'd stand up for his guildmates and not to mention, he looks very strong too," Hikari paused. "How long have you been a mage?" She didn't know much about him too, since she just met him a few days ago, except the fact that he was going to learn magic from Aegis Bright.

Hikari glanced up at the sky. She could feel the cool breeze gently caressing her face though the sun was blaring down at her. It was so refreshing. She could spend all day just staring at the sky and watching the clouds roaming about.

After letting out a small chuckle to his remark, she replied, "Hm, I just joined Sabertooth a few weeks ago so you could say I don't know about our guildmaster that much. He seemed kind, a person who'd stand up for his guildmates and not to mention, he looks very strong too. How long have you been a mage?" Nothing I don't already know, oh well, I can't expect his life story from a new mage he thought before responding to her question. "I'd have to say... a year? Yeah, probably about a year now. Unless you count the time where I trained my magic to as best I could, then it would be nine years." he told her, focused on keeping a thin sheet of ice on the bottom of both his feet, cautious about burning them on the hot sand. They were finally approaching their destination, the ruins, and he didn't plan on going in quietly. As they got closer, he looked over to his partner and asked rhetorically, "Are you ready?" Of course, no matter what she said, it wouldn't stop the group of enemies heading their way. I haven't actually fought with my magic in a bit of time, they should be some good practice

Hikari raised an eyebrow, quite amazed from what he'd said. That's pretty long, she thought. As they continued to strode along scorching sand, they finally reached to the location. "Are you ready?" Zenshin asked. She nodded. Well, to be honest, she's not. She was nervous to death and she didn't know what to do. He could've attacked them in one hit or whatsoever and he woudn't need her help, most likely.  She had wanted to hide behind Zenshin and leave him in attacking the monsters. But, that is impossible.

As they stood in front of the ruins, the monsters emerged out of nowhere. They must have smelled their presence. Hikari stepped back a few steps. She was feeling so lost and scared and nervous, as well. I'm a mage. No need to be scared. This should be okay, she encouraged herself. Hikari bit her lip and stomped hard on the ground, making 3 pillars rose up from below and striked her enemies with full force. She grinned like an idiot, seeing that one of her spells was a succes, but that was not the end yet. Groups of swordsmen stormed towards her with their hammers and attempted to slam it on her but Hikari blocked their attacks by summoning another pillar.

Hikari had shown him what she was capable of, as she created three pillars of earth and sent three out of the group of cartel swordsman flying. Pillars, huh? I'll make it a point to show her what real pillars look like later he thought while outstretching his hand, a cold breeze forming around it, before he spoke some words "Ice make, boomerang!". Almost in an instant after he did this, a huge, boomerang made of ice was created in his right hand, ready to be thrown. Cocking his arm as far back as possible, he launched it forward, ready to decimate their numbers, but unfortunately, they saw this coming and created a gap for the boomerang to travel through. Instead of returning like a normal boomerang, though, it melted in the dry sun, making half of the spell go to waste.

Damn heat. he thought before preparing for the cartel's lackeys assault on him. At least it looks like we only have to deal with one of these 'waves' at a time. Seems as though the others think that this group can beat us he though again, dodging two horizontal slashes simultaneously. These wizards will learn never to take what isn't theirs ever again was the final that that rushed to his head as he tilted his head to the right, then left to avoid to stabs aimed for his eyes. Suddenly, he heard the yelling of three men from behind him, but instead of ducking under, he simple took a few quick steps forward, leaving three hammers stuck in the sand. Ready for round two?

Hikari stared at Zenshin as he mumbled some words and created a large boomerang. She widened her eyes, awestruck with Zenshin's exceptional ability. Hikari watched as he pulled his arm back, ready to strike the target, but was distracted by the enemy's attack. Ah. I shouldn't just stand here and gaze, She reminded herself.

Hikari set her full concentration on her enemies, the swordsmen. She had to decrease the large numbers. Iron Rock Fist! She yelled in her mind as she created a huge fist from the ground and aimed at the large numbers of swordsmen. Oh. Darn it, She bit her lip in anger as she realized that her fist went in the wrong direction. Holy crap, She was so infuriated that she wanted to blow up everything. Hikari pushed her anger to the back of her mind and concentrated back on her battle again. She didn't realize until she turned around to see a couple of swordsmen, with their swords above their head which was about to cut her into pieces from behind. Hikari quickly jumped to her right side, making her enemies' attack to miss. She sighed in relief. That made her heart skipped a beat. Phew. That was close. I could've died.

Zenshin watched as Hikari struggled with the enemies before her, and, with a sigh, prepared to defeat this group, as the other group of swordsman was just about to arrive as the back up. He could easily take two groups, actually, he'd like the challenge, but he couldn't forget about how Hikari already had her life threatened by just seven of these swordsman. Kneeling down to the ground, he placed his hands on the ground and whispered, "Ice make, snakes..." Only a moment passed before a cold breeze came above the magical circle he had created in front of him and, in a few seconds, twelve snakes of varying size were made and sent out to the enemies. The group of seven turned to a group of four when some of the men saw the snakes slithering towards them, they dropped their weapons and ran out into the vast desert instead of taking their chances with his creations.

Before the others knew that they should run as well, three snakes bit each of their shins and wrapped themselves all the way around the criminals, continually biting them on various parts of their stomach, legs, and back. After about ten seconds, Zen snapped his fingers, signaling for his snakes to come back and that those guys wouldn't be bothering them anymore, now, it was time for the next group that had just arrived.

"Ice make, snakes..." Hikari heard Zenshin whispered. He created a magical circle underneath him and twelve snakes appeared from it and were sent to the groups of swordsmen. She laughed when she saw some of the men running out into the desert, chased by the snakes.  Hikari and Zenshin watched as the snakes wrapped around their enemies' bodies and bit them. Later, she heard him snapped his fingers, signaling his snakes to come back. After they reached back to Zenshin, they poofed into a cloud of sublimation. The large number of the enemies was greatly decreased but another group of swordsmen appeared again. Will this ever end? Hikari frowned.

So, it's my turn now, Hikari thought as she extended both of her hands in front of her and murmured, "Iron Rock Wall." A wall of 30 meters tall emerged in front of the group of enemies, keeping them out of range. She was going to let Zen to blow an attack on them while those swordsmen are on the other side of the wall. A few seconds later, the wall started rumbling and was broken, alas. Hikari slumped her shoulders and sighed in despair. "Bloody hell. This is so useless," She mumbled to herself. She noticed three swordsmen swinging their swords above their heads, striding towards her. They were about to attack her when she kicked the handle of a sword and deflect it to obstruct the other swords.

Zenshin was having some fun now, as he was well equipped to take out these hooligans who used hammers and sword. Removing Ikari from its sheath, he took a moment to scan where all the enemies were, then charged them full speed. One of them tried to stop him with an overhead strike with their scimitar, but failed as he countered with a block, and then a break before putting his hand on the scorching sand, calling out yet another spell "Dark ice, pillars!". Ten, magical indigo circles appeared under all of his enemies, all were about to do something that he found amusing. Another second passed before ten, black pillars of ice shot out from each of the circles, each one the same size.

All of them were able to launch the mercenaries from the sand, a few meters into the air, and cause them to plunge back onto the sand, some head first. Though the attack itself was done, the ten black pillars made from his dark ice remained, each two meters in diameter and five meters tall, scattered across the sand. They had no chance to block such an attack, it was basically as if a shotgun was triggered from under you. Looking around at the scattered bodies, a grin crossed his face, Hmm, now the final group... and they seem like they mean business, I have to get ready to protect Hikari, as these guys could probably do some actual damage

Hikari stared at Zenshin as he pulled out a sword from a sheath charged towards the enemies. She noticed him placed his hand on the sand and created magical circles again and summoned 10 pillars all around the ruins, which were larger than hers. As the swordsmen were thrown into the air, she laughed when she saw some falling back down with their head first. Seems like Zen is also having fun, She starting to get used to all these fighting and magics and stuffs and she was having fun! 

After the groups of swordsmen were defeated, a number of 5 wizards appeared. They seemed very strong. Her brows knitted with seriousness, she extended one of her hands in front of her, her index and middle finger outstretched and the others bent. "Rock Avalance!" Hikari bellowed. The ground and the nearby surfaces started shaking and was split into 5 boulders in various sizes. They were lifted into the air and was sent to her enemies with a great amout of force. Unfortunately, her attack was blocked immediately. 2 of the wizards pointed their bo-staff at her and mumbled some words, causing the fire to appear out of nowhere and aimed at her. Just as they were about to counter attack her, Hikari summoned another two more boulders and threw at them, blocking their attack. She glanced up at Zenshin, desperately. It's all up to you now, Zen, Her mind whispered.

Zenshin was glad that Hikari was having some fun, he definitely was, and if she wasn't enjoying the job as well, then what was the point in doing them. He wasn't really serious when it came to jobs that were below his rank, so he usually had more fun doing them. That was when the final wave of cartel criminals showed up, Mages huh? It's about time you sent in your best guys, I wanna see what you can do Hikari took the initiative and threw boulders at the enemies, but were blocked with ease before they counter attacked her. These men sported bo-staves and apparently, fire magic, as two of them casted fireballs in his partner's direction, but those were blocked by two other boulders she had prepared.

Good going Hikari, but now it's my turn he thought while rushing the mages standing by, all three of them. Though, a few meters before he got them, he felt as though the air got thinner around him, I can actually feel this, they must be preforming a unison raid that affects the air around me... he thought before his eyes widened. Slowly looking behind him, he saw two large fireballs rushing towards the sphere of thinned air that the wind mages had trapped him in. No time to block or dodge... uh oh he thought before a large explosion engulfed him. As the black smoke cleared, he could hear the mages laughing cockily, they probably thought that he was dead, killed by the explosion, but they were very much mistaken.

Once the smoke cleared, Zenshin's hair had become singed on the ends, some parts of his clothing was burned off, and he was standing on top of a huge dragon created from his dark ice. "I'll admit, you had me there for a second. If you guys could cast magic that wasn't as weak as that, you actually might have killed me. Nah, Im kidding, you couldn't kill me even if you were S ranked" he said heartily. With a snap of his fingers, his dragon spun, the momentum picking up at the end of its tail and slamming into all three wind mages at once, sending them flying into the ruined ruins. Now, the dragon faced the two fire mages that had sent fireballs at him and ruined the tips of his fabulous hair. "You know what to do, Sublime" he said to his dragon before it let out a grunt and swung its claws at the two men, sending them two the ground with broken staves and fractured hands. "Let's get ready for round two!" he yelled, his dragon letting out a loud roar in response. Yeah, there was no doubt, he was getting a bit carried away.
