Hello reader!
So the team at Sorcerer Magazine have been talking and decided that a Feature Guide would be an ideal way to not only keep track of features but also to explain them a little and set a few rules going forward in relation to the selection process.
So without further ado, let's get started;
So the team at Sorcerer Magazine have been talking and decided that a Feature Guide would be an ideal way to not only keep track of features but also to explain them a little and set a few rules going forward in relation to the selection process.
So without further ado, let's get started;
Featured Mage is generally the key starting piece in every magazine, as most of you know every two months after a magazine's release, we host a vote amongst guilds for a nominee (With the exception of Guildless which is chosen by the Magazine team.)
From these ten nominees, a single character is chosen by the community to be the next featured mage. The featured mage receives a three-page spread that includes in IC character interview, as well as being featured on the front cover of the next magazine.
Now there have been some discrepancies/concerns with Featured Mage votes in the past so after a discussion amongst the magazine team, we are going to be setting some rules for future votes that must be followed by all guilds when picking a nominee.
To make it easier to keep track here is a list of those who have been featured in the past. This is here to here guilds know who they can include in votes and whether members alts can be included. Please note, some of these have been listed as N/A because either the image is broken or it is not clear which mage was featured for these issues.

- Characters that have been featured cannot be voted for at all.
- Those who have had a character featured within the space of a year cannot have their alternate characters included in any votes. After the year has passed however their alts can be included in future votes. See the feature list below to track which previously featured members can / cannot be voted for again.
- Anyone who hasn't posted in the last month cannot be included in any votes for featured mage nominee.
- Staff can for any reason, refuse a members vote should any rule breaks be discovered in the voting process i.e. cheating, or manipulating the votes of others.

Featured Teams / Couples, much like Featured Mage, include an interview with the couple or team chosen for that issue. This consists of a two-page spread and is voted in by the magazine. Generally, we at the magazine like to alternate between teams and couples, although this may change if there aren't enough couples to chose from. (Clearly y'all need to get shipping people!)
The only rules that members need to follow to increase the chances of being picked are as follows;
The only rules that members need to follow to increase the chances of being picked are as follows;
- Make sure your team is registered here or your ship is registered here.
- Those in the team or ship must be relatively active!
- Teams that have been featured before cannot be re-featured, however, if there have been significant changes made to the team they may be reconsidered depending on the magazine's team view of such changes i.e. adding or exchanging new members, rebranding, time since last feature etc.
