Personality: Valturine is generally an easy-going and peaceful guy, he prefers to live his life and let others live theirs in most circumstances. He really only has one hot button issue that will cause him to get involved outside of a mission and that is seeing someone committing bullying or injustice. This is an issue of him as he was extensively bullied during his childhood due to his rather odd heritage.

When hired to do a mission he will do his best to complete it, however, he will generally retreat and possibly even give up on a mission if it would lead to his death or permanent injury. While this may put him at odds the job owner, or possibly even his guild, Valturine considers his wellbeing to be the most important factor.

In combat, he prefers to stand well back and sling spells at his opponent. This plays well towards his natural strengths and helps to give him time to block or avoid enemy attacks; a particularly important consideration given his inborn frailty. His greatest fear is a component melee combatant who is able to close the distance and engage him directly, in this case, he will often panic and try to regain his preferred distance if at all possible.

When interacting when others he tends to keep to his calm and somewhat passive approach to life. This can lead others to believe that he is standoffish or thinks he is better than them, however, he is really just awkward around people until he gets to know them. When working as part of a group he easily defers to the group leader and does his part of the work, having no real aspirations of leadership himself. That said he makes a good leader when needed as he is able to react calmly to most situations and decide on the best course of action.





Likes:

• Good Food: Valturine considers a good meal to be one of the greatest joys in life. He can generally be found treating himself at expensive restaurants after completing a mission.
  
• History: History fascinates him and also provides an avenue through which he may be able to determine the truth of his bloodline.
  
• Quiet Relaxation: When not busy on a job or training Valturine can most often be found curled up somewhere (often in bed) napping or reading a good book.
  

Dislikes:

• Bullying: Having been bullied extensively as a child due to his strange heritage Valturine hates bullying and other forms of injustice. It is one of the few things that will get him to step into a situation when he doesn't have to.
  
• Extreme Danger: While he accepts that to be a wizard is to be dangerous, Valturine firmly believes that there is a point at which things are no longer worth it. In most cases, he will retreat or otherwise pull back if he considers things too dangerous.
  
• Being forced into something: Valturnine firmly believes in his right to choose what he will do. Things that are part of his normal guild duties or jobs are fine (as he has chosen to do them), however, outside of this, he will be very upset if forced into something.
  

Motivations:

• Uncovering his heritage: Valturine is still somewhat unsure over the exact details of his heritage and even his parents were able to tell him very little about it. One of his primary motivations is determining who (and what) his ancestors were.
  
• Money: Valturine has something of a taste for the high life, particularly good food and drink, and so acquiring more wealth is a strong goal of his.
  
• Being accepted: While this is something of an unconscious goal at this point as it isn't something he would admit even to his self, finding a group of people who accept him fully is a very important goal.
  

Fears:

• Melee combat: Being naturally frailer than most people melee combat is extremely scary to Valturine as it limits his ability to react to attacks and block or evade damage.
  
• Losing his magic: Being skilled at magic has been a core part of his identity since he was a young child, the idea that it might be taken away from him is terrifying.
  
• Social isolation: A fear born from a situation that has already happened, after being isolated from his peers for most of his childhood Valturine fears it happening again.

Appearance: Valturine is a relatively tall young man whose primary distinctive feature is his particularly pale skin. He is usually dressed in a flowing green robe designed to match the colour of his eyes with a pair of long-distance hiking boots on his feet. He has a pair of earrings in his ears with small tree-shaped pieces of silver dangling from them and he also wears two rings on each hand, also made of silver. On the back of his left hand, his guild tattoo is visible and, if you are close enough, you can make out the slightly pointed nature of his ears.
