Seika was happy to be visiting Era for the very first time! Try as she might, she was unable to contain an enormous smile as she looked up at the Magic Council headquarters. The place was just so gigantic! It felt so far away, being on top of that big mountain hill thingy. Briefly, Seika wondered how long it took for people to take the road that led up to the headquarters itself. "It probably takes them some hours, right?" She said to nobody in particular, attracting a few stares before people continued going about their business. With a shrug, Seika turned away from the view and blinked at the actual city of Era itself. One of the most modern locations in Fiore the girl had been to yet, Era was full of gleaming, shiny buildings and beautiful scenery. Despite the bustling urban atmosphere, there looked to be plenty of trees poking up, and Seika guessed there were parks, too.

Although she rarely missed home at all, this place probably reminded her the most of the Pergrande Kingdom. Well, that was, after the Neutral Grounds. The only differences were that the guards that seemed to patrolling everywhere were Rune Knights, and they could use magic! Seika tiptoed as sneakily as she could over to a Rune Knight who was standing very, very still next to a gate. She was about to ambush him from the side and yell 'Boo!' when she suddenly tripped on a risen part of the cobblestone path, ending up lying nearly flat on her face.

"Ow..." Seika made some incoherent noises as she curled up slightly, holding her forehead, but also wincing as her fingers, palms, wrists, knees, everything seemed to sting. Hopefully the Rune Knight hadn't seen her fall... although who was she kidding, he probably had seen the whole thing. He didn't seem to be sympathetic to her plight whatsoever, standing just as still and perhaps even pointedly looking in the opposite direction. That was what she got for trying to scare him, she supposed. Seika bit her lip as another sharp pain shot through her wrist as she tried to support her weight on it long enough to stand up. "Ahh... hurts," she squeezed her eyes shut for a moment before blinking away the tears that were gathering at the corners of her eyes. It was just a fall! Seriously... why had it hurt so much?

    Dear Miss West,

We have reviewed your case and unfortunately, we have decided to deny your request to continue your investigation into this matter. Please abstain from further involvement as per our previous statement.

    Yours sincerely,
    Evelyn Meyers,
    Member of the Magic Council.

The words were like a subtle door slamming in the face of the Dies Irae, months and months she had watched as this Serial killer continued to go after innocent women. And the Magic Council would not permit action, for fear of the greater consequences of doing so. It wasn't acceptable. How could they allow more women to fall prey to this monsters despicable clutches? She understood the prevention of a massacre, but she was certain that, with the right team and resources, she could put a stop to him. Once and for all. But alas, she had once again made her case to the Magic Council, and once again they had refused to budge on their decision, dismissing her via correspondence. Unsatisfied with the response, she had decided to leave Amber Island and travel to Era. To confront the Council about the matter in person, hopeful that perhaps she could convince them to sway on their decision.

With great frustration, Amalie had left the station, setting off into Era. "Translocation." She uttered, magic flowing up through her body and encasing the word itself. Immediately Amalie would vanish from where she was walking, reappearing further along the path into town. She would continue to stroll idly, allowing her magic a moment to build up once more for another teleport. However before she could activate the spell again, she found herself distracted by a sudden girlish cry. Glancing over she would see a girl tumbling to the floor at the feet of a Rune Knight. Amalie stared at the teenager for a moment, she couldn't have been older than fourteen-fifteen, with shoulder-length peach-toned locks. She paced forward, moving to pass by the incident without any influence, however, as she did so her ice-blue eyes remained trained on the girl. It would seem that the young girl had attempted to playfully jump out at the guard, only to misjudge her footing. The guard seemed none too impressed, making a point to ignore the child. Ignore it, move on, it doesn't concern you. These were the thoughts that steered the Commander, and she would have done just that.

    But the girl was crying.

Well, sort of, her eyes were teary and she would mumble about the pain of the fall. After facing a momentary internal conflict, Amalie would stop walking, before releasing an irritated sigh. Turning on her heel, she began strolling toward the girl, she would reach down, without permission she would grab the girls arm and attempt to help her up. All the while shooting a dark glance at the guard, before returning her gaze to the girl. "You should be more careful." She told her sternly, maintaining her cool demeanour as she addressed her.

Trip Trip Fall in Love... Just Kid-ding! (Seika, Amalie) Empty Re: Trip Trip Fall in Love... Just Kid-ding! (Seika, Amalie)

Post by Ran 11th June 2020, 11:08 am

Seika concentrated on her breathing as she unconsciously curled her body slightly around her wrist, whispering to herself, "It doesn't hurt, it doesn't hurt, it doesn't hurt- eek!" She squeaked when a strong force suddenly pulled her upwards by her left arm. Even through her sweater and uniform, she could feel the person's grip and how strong it was, for lack of a better word. Firm? Solid? She furrowed her brow before realizing that she was back on her feet. "Oh! Thank you so much!" Seika said gratefully, still looking at her feet as she noticed that her tights were torn across her right knee, with a tiny bit of blood running down her leg. It didn't hurt very much, just a little sting, so she turned her attention away and looked up at whoever had helped her up. She met a pair of very cold, very elegant eyes. "Woah," Seika breathed, transfixed. Unconsciously, her left hand reached up towards the woman's face. "You... you're so pretty," she blinked in amazement.

It just then registered that the stranger was speaking, her tone rather admonishing. "Aah..." Seika bit her lip before putting her hands together in the most apologetic look she could muster up. "I'll be careful! I'm sorry for troubling you!" She clapped her hands together with a wince at the pain that shot up through her right wrist and bowed hurriedly, partially out of respect and partially to hide the fact that her eyes had begun watering again. Ahh, something was wrong with her wrist. It hurt. A lot. "Umm, my name is Taneda Akies, um, Seika, and, and, thank you for helping me," she spoke with her voice dipping as she tried to think clearly. She didn't want to just leave without saying anything, since wasn't that super impolite? But at the same time, all Seika wanted to do at the moment was duck behind the nearest tree and cry it out.

"Umm, I should go find my... mom," The girl tested the word uncertainly. Hopefully the helpful stranger would let her go without any more worries. Seika's mom was several thousands of miles away, but that was a minor detail. Just then, her stomach grumbled, very loudly, and for at least a few seconds. "Oh..." if it was possible, she stared at her feet even harder. Wow!! Way to embarrass herself in front of the super cool and nice lady. "M-my mom has food! But I eat a lot, so I'm hungry a lot," she hurried to explain, as if to avoid any further embarrassment. Why was she even making up stories for this woman? She didn't know, but somehow, there was this cold presence about her that made Seika feel guilty about existing, much less troubling her to stop and help her.

Trip Trip Fall in Love... Just Kid-ding! (Seika, Amalie) Empty Re: Trip Trip Fall in Love... Just Kid-ding! (Seika, Amalie)

Post by Amalie 16th June 2020, 6:30 pm

The girls whimpering did little to impressed the Commander, not that she expected any better. As someone who had spent her entire life masking any pain she felt as best she could, she felt that a little restraint was prudent in this world. If you appeared weak, then no one would assume anything else. Which was exactly the impression she was getting off the one she was helping, the girl may have been a teen but she was also a small, fragile-looking thing. Breakable goods.

Once she was securely on her feet Amalie would let her go, her gaze following the girls to her scrapped knee. It wasn't a deep wound at all really, Amalie could have healed it in an instant. But she had already helped this girl to her feet, was more really necessary? Then again, as the girl thanked her, Amalie would notice the watering in her eyes. She should have just walked away at this point, yet she didn't, instead her ice blue irises took in the sight of the girl - examining her with uncertain speculation. Amalie nodded as she introduced her name, no it wasn't important. She should go, go to the Magic Council building and deal with a more important matter. There was no reason for her to interact with this girl, at least, there wasn't.

    Until she mentioned her mother.

The phrase caught Amalie in her tracks like a net, gripping her instantly and holding her in place. It was just so familiar and not for a pleasant reason. The way that the girl, this Seika or Taneda or whatever her name was had worded it. It had given Amalie an immediate sense of a misdirection, at least, the attempt at such. The girl's stomach would grumble audibly, leading her into a nervous disposition. She mentioned her mother again, and this time Amalie had no doubts in her mind. She was lying.

Why did the blue-haired twenty-year-old know this? She wasn't a mind-reader, nor had she ever met the girl before and yet she just knew that the girl was lying about her parent. She couldn't tell what it meant, whether her parent was deceased, absent or neglectful. These were things that Amalie could not decipher but she knew one thing was sure. This girl's mother wasn't here. Because more than a decade ago, Amalie herself had been telling the same lies to strangers. Perhaps with a little more convincing delivery, lying about her mother was practically an art form by the time she was Seika's age.

"Uh huh," She uttered, thinking for a moment. Deliberating what this meant - it really didn't mean anything. This girl meant nothing to her, just a stranger she had helped to her feet. What did it matter if her mother was absent? There were many teens in the same situation, Amalie couldn't concern herself with all of them; It was impractical. It was unnecessary. Pointless even.

And yet for some reason, she reached out once more, her magic flowing through her body. Rising from the centre of her being, it would spread upwards, guiding itself through her throat. Releasing itself in a single command, "Heal." The voice magic would reverberate through the area loudly, spreading through Amalie's body, travelling through her toward her fingers. She placed her hand on the girl's wrist softly, the magic transferring itself from the host and passing onto the girl. As the magic touched her, Seika's wounds would mend themselves, influenced by the Commander's articulation magic.

Amalie pulled her fingers away, "Well, I'm walking into town.  I will probably get some food on the way. If you wish, you can... walk with me whilst you look for your mom" She didn't know why she felt the need to suggest this, helping her up was enough, let alone healing her. She could only fathom that it was either some weird form of nostalgic pity causing her to aid the girl, an unpleasant concept if there ever was one. "I am Commander Amalie West of Dies Irae," She added sharply, before turning on her heel. Not bothering to look back to see if Seika followed her.

Trip Trip Fall in Love... Just Kid-ding! (Seika, Amalie) Empty Re: Trip Trip Fall in Love... Just Kid-ding! (Seika, Amalie)

Post by Ran 16th June 2020, 7:34 pm

Despite her best attempt to maintain a straight face, Seika still winced at the woman's short words. 'Uh huh....' It didn't seem as though she believed Seika, but it couldn't be helped. Most people, even if they did doubt the truth of the girl's words, rarely did much about it. Those who chose to pry further tended to be troublesome, that was for sure, yet- somehow, running around unsupervised while looking like a school aged child was less reprimandable in Fiore than it had been back in the Pergrande Kingdom. Seika still apologized and devised excuses whenever she went into shops by herself to buy anything or essentially interacted at all with adults, but she had found it not to be suspicious. Generally, at least. The girl had chalked it up to the more lax education system of Fiore, where many children were educated informally or became apprentices at a younger age. Furthermore, she had seen quite a number of adults (that wasn't the right word, but she couldn't think of a better one- mentally elderly?) running around in the bodies of children. Seika giggled a little bit to herself, just inside her head, as she thought about the time she had mistaken an a thousand year immortal for a girl younger than herself. Fiore really was a special place. Nobody would have been so brazenly... magical, back in the Kingdom.

She had lost focus on the conversation and was startled when she felt a sudden, soft touch against her skin. It was on her wrist, and unconsciously, the girl winced, expecting pain from the pressure. Maybe this was one of those meddling kind of adults who insisted on looking at everything. To be honest, the woman hadn't really seemed like the type, though? Her mind was racing, but somehow, she still ended up being behind on what was happening to her body. It... it wasn't hurting? Seika held up her wrist and blinked at it, confusedly. As the stranger removed her hand, the girl stared, absolutely dumbfounded and unsure of what was even happening. She poked it with a high degree of hesitation. No sharp streak of pain ran through her arm, and with a wide smile, Seika vibrated happily. "Ah! Thank you! I think!" It had been the woman, right? Seika couldn't be sure, but it was polite to thank people when they did something nice for you. Otherwise, they could get mad, or... well, it would be rude anyway to ignore that kindness. But she didn't think this woman would get mad! That had been so cool. Seika beamed, only then realizing that she was being addressed.

Ahh! The stranger had been talking. Seika focused back in on the conversation, briefly panicking as she hoped she hadn't missed anything important. Unfortunately, it seemed that she was only able to catch the last bit of her words. "You are... commanding Amalie West of Dies Irae?" she guessed out loud, before realizing that the stranger was already leaving. "Oh! Um, I'm sorry, uh, Commander," people who commanded other people were commanders, right? Ah, wait, hadn't she heard the name Dies Irae before? Some of her guild mates mentioned it at times, and the girl had occasionally seen people around wearing those really pretty uniforms. They were like the woman's, so- that actually made a whole lot of sense. So she was commanding.. Amalie West, right? The only person Seika could remember associated with Dies Irae was that man, with the light white hair. Light white? Light gray? Either way, he must be Amalie West, then. Because logic. "I thought Amalie would be a girl name!" She said, trying to be conversational, as she tried to keep up with the woman, hoping that she wasn't bothering her. The commander did seem to be the type to be up to very important business only, lacking the time to socialize out on the street. "But it's a really pretty name! You should tell him that," she added cheerfully. Since her arm wasn't hurting anymore, and the woman wasn't asking strange questions about her supposed mother, Seika was in quite high spirits. "I mean, he probably already knows though. Everyone must tell him that," she amended. Hopefully she would know what Seika meant?

Trip Trip Fall in Love... Just Kid-ding! (Seika, Amalie) Empty Re: Trip Trip Fall in Love... Just Kid-ding! (Seika, Amalie)

Post by Amalie 20th June 2020, 4:07 pm

Amalie glanced over to the girl as she walked alongside her, the small female seemed to have decided to follow her after all. Although the Articulation Mage wasn't entirely sure to what end this would lead to. After all, she could feed the child, but then what? Sending her on her way she supposed would be the only means for it. Amalie realised she hadn't really thought this through and that it might have been better to have just walked away from the scene when she had the chance. Why had she given in? Was she growing soft? Or perhaps it had been how small the girl was. She was adorable, she would give her that, albeit far from allow the compliment to part her lips. Childlike and innocent. Another weakness forthe woman, the one who had sought for so many years to be a mother, who had developed an innate protective instinct towards children despite having never bore any offspring of her own. Oh well, it didn't matter. Accompanying one possible-orphan for a little bit wouldn't do any harm to her fierce reputation, so perhaps one small allowance would be okay. As long as it was just this once.

Amalie watched as the girl attempted to make sense of her words, confusing her title with an adjective to start. An foolish error but an easy one to make. She would quickly correct herself and that would be that. Amalie would take this as a sign that there was no further need to converse and trained her gaze ahead. Keeping her pace swift and consistent as she walked the trails of Era into the city. However, this assumption proved to be foolhardy, because the words that followed from the teenager would baffle the blue-haired woman. Her ice-blue gaze would travel back to the girl as she found herself staring with an unreadable expression. It would seem, that after introducing herself, there was further misunderstanding. Amalie assumed she had made herself quite clear, she was a Commander, and her name was Amalie West. That's all there was to it. Somehow, this peachy-haired teen had got it into her skull that she was commanding someone called Amalie. And that this person, was a guy.

Amalie stopped walking abruptly before turning to the girl, she would raise her hands in a halting gesture as she spoke. "Seika... Taneda, whatever your name is." She started, her tone direct and full of disbelief, "What are you talking about? Who are you talking about?" She asked, making no attempt to hide her patronizing tone. Could it be that this girl was just an idiot? Or did her strange words actually have meaning?

Trip Trip Fall in Love... Just Kid-ding! (Seika, Amalie) Empty Re: Trip Trip Fall in Love... Just Kid-ding! (Seika, Amalie)

Post by Ran 20th June 2020, 4:54 pm

When the commander suddenly paused mid stride, Seika nearly bumped into her. "Ahh! Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry-" she waved her hands in panic as she stepped back a few paces to put personal space between herself and the woman. While she was all for giving people hugs, somehow she got the sense that the woman would not be very appreciative. But who knew! Maybe she liked hugs. Oh, Seika should just ask, instead of wondering about it. "Missus, do you like hugs?" The girl spoke up before realizing she had ignored what the woman had just said. Blinking at her outstretched hands that were hovering in the air in front of her, Seika slowly brought her hands up to the same level. Then, scrutinizing the commander's expression for some kind of clue, Seika decided the only thing that made sense was that she wanted a high five. A double high five, in fact! So Seika would try to clap her hands together with the woman before focusing on recalling whatever had just been said. As far as she could remember, her name had been mentioned?

"Seika! I'm Seika," the girl who was definitely Seika told her newfound blue haired friend, a bright smile breaking out across her face. "Um, as for uh, who I was talking about? I think... Amalie West?" She wrinkled her nose in consternation as she tried to remember the past few moments. What had she been talking about? Much less, what had she been thinking about? Oh yes, that was right- hugs. Even though, with blue hair and eyes and being super tall (Seika was jealous) the commander seemed to be an ice queen, the girl had thought she probably enjoyed hugs. Still, it had been a good choice, in her opinion, to avoid crashing into the other person! It was like a traffic jam. Even if the cars wanted to meet, they weren't supposed to, not like that at least. "Speaking of um, names, what's your favorite color, Missus? Er, Commander," Seika asked. For some reason, it had just occurred to her that perhaps the woman's favorite color was not blue. That would make a bit of sense, considering how seeing the color day after day could get rid of the novelty. Somehow, though, the girl imagined that it would in fact be blue. This question had been circulating in the back of her head ever since she had been pulled to her feet by the strange woman and healed. Remembering that, of course, made Seika feel grateful all over again.

Suddenly, her stomach grumbled again, but this time much less loudly than the first, and for a shorter period of time as well. Seika threw the commander a smile and laughed awkwardly. "Um, sorry, no matter how much I try I can't train it out of that," she chewed on her bottom lip with a little bit of self consciousness. People like the commander were so polished, and proper, and tall, and blue. She doubted that their stomachs ever grumbled like that.

Trip Trip Fall in Love... Just Kid-ding! (Seika, Amalie) Empty Re: Trip Trip Fall in Love... Just Kid-ding! (Seika, Amalie)

Post by Amalie 21st June 2020, 6:01 pm

    Pure bafflement.

That was perhaps the only way to describe how Amalie was feeling right now. As she stared down at the young girl, who she was started to suspect might be a little bit tapped in the head. The girl, for some reason, would misinterpret Amalie's halting gesture as... a desire to hug her? No. She was wrong. In fact, it was the opposite really, because if Seika did make any attempt to hug her. Amalie might not be able to resist the urge to launch her into the nearest wall. Amalie didn't really do hugs, especially not from strangers, even adorable child-like teens.

Fortunately, the girl didn't do that, and whilst her decided action wasn't nearly as invasive of Amalie's private space. It wasn't much better. The moment Amalie's palm would be playfully slapped by the girls, her face would convulse into an even more perplexed glare. And whilst Amalie waited to see if the girl would explain herself, she did not, instead choosing to confirm her name. Seika. The Commander would lower her hands to her side, normally she fancied herself a relatively intelligent woman. She had always been studious and quick to pick up on things that others did not, but Seika had left her somewhat dumbfounded. She couldn't make sense of the girl's behaviour - there was no rhyme nor reason to it!

Amalie would assume that Seika might continue on to explain what it was she was talking about, but after repeating the woman's name, it would seem that she was swiftly distracted once more. For the next thing, she would ask the older woman, had nothing to do with the topic at hand, but rather was an inquiry into what colour she liked? Amalie closed her eyes for a moment, bringing her hands to her temples. She rubbed the pressure points on either side of her face with her index fingers, she really couldn't believe this was happening. Of all the things she had anticipated she would be doing today, she had no idea that she would be interacting with someone as sporadic as this. The girl could barely keep track of the conversation before jumping to another random point. Amalie was starting to wonder if she might have some kind of ADHD or something.

Instead of addressing Seika's question, Amalie would attempt to reel her back to the initial conversation topic. "Seika then. Listen, I think you have it wrong, I am Amalie West. As in that's MY name, and I can assure you, I am all woman." She explained, talking slowly and carefully in hopes that even this apparent simpleton that was this stray might understand her.

Once again there was that distinct rumble of hunger from the girl's stomach, a distinct sign indicating that she needed food. Amalie rolled her eyes, looking around she would train her eyes on a food stall in the distance. Her ice blue gaze narrowing slightly, she would take a moment to work out what kind of stall it worse before feeling a small sense of pleasant elation. Because the stall in the distance was none other than a crepe vendor. And Amalie really liked crepes. In fact, it was minimal; the slight widening of her eyes, the small curve of her lips that was almost a smile, the way her shoulders relaxed slightly. But Amalie suddenly really wanted a crepe, and well seeing as Seika was hungry. It just made sense that they would go and get some.

"Come on." She ordered sharply, her strides quickening as she closed the distance between them and the vendor. As the reached the stall Amalie would pull out her wallet, ordering a crepe with strawberries and chocolate sauce. she would then glance at Seika, she highly doubted that this girl had much money on her. It was an assumption on her part, but she had a hunch that Seika was not the type to carry a lot of cash on her. "What do you want?"

Trip Trip Fall in Love... Just Kid-ding! (Seika, Amalie) Empty Re: Trip Trip Fall in Love... Just Kid-ding! (Seika, Amalie)

Post by Ran 21st June 2020, 7:36 pm

Seika gave the woman a bright smile when she accepted the high five. Even though the stranger seemed to be a little bit chilly, the bubble mage was excited at the prospect of her acceptance, nonetheless. When the commander dropped her arms back down, Seika didn't say anything, instead opting to continue beaming at her. Just grateful for the warm reception, she watched as the other woman seemed to be mulling things over at the same time as she herself was thinking. When Seika managed to describe that she had been considering more about Amalie West, the woman said nothing, but after she asked about her favorite color, she finally spoke. Apparently, she had it wrong? What did the commander mean- ohh. Seika's nose crinkled up in confusion. The commander was Amalie West? But... that was wrong! She withheld her thoughts, however, and instead opted to listen more as the commander told Seika very plainly that it was her name and she was most certainly a woman. Well, the name had sounded feminine, but the person Seika knew to be Amalie West was most certainly a male. Unless he wasn't? Er, she wasn't? The mage wracked her brain as she tried to think back to the posters and other adverts she had seen. It was possible that secretly, that person had been a female. And she was disguising herself and standing in front of Seika right now!

It was all very confusing, so it was good when it was broken up by the sound of Seika's stomach rumbling, as embarrassing as it had been. Her small attempt at brushing it off seemed to fall flat, although Amalie West(?) did not say anything outright, instead ordering her to follow the taller female. She appeared to be heading in some specific direction that Seika was unaware of as she trailed behind her. As they moved, it became harder and harder to match her pace, so when Seika finally arrived to a stop next to Amalie, she had already been standing there, next to what was apparently a stall. Seika tilted her head around the older woman to get a better look. The vendor was selling... um, were those the foreign corn and flour things? Seika had eaten some of them once, in either Joya or Midi. She had trouble differentiating between the country names sometimes, as disappointing as that could be. Still, Seika did get the feeling that something was different between the um... torties that she had eaten back then and the ones she was confronted with now. Amalie ordered a...cape? With strawberries and chocolate sauce! Seika understood that part, at least. She eyed the food, ignoring the way her stomach bubbled slightly. Determined not to let it grumble again, the girl forced herself not to think too hard about food.

Just then, Amalie asked her what she wanted. Momentarily at a loss for words, Seika stared at the commander dumbly. "Um... what do I want? Maybe someday, I want to become a woolly mammoth! I heard that they're extinct, so I want to learn how to be one so I can bring them back again," she beamed at the commander, but her eyes kept drifting away and onto the food nearby. Everything looked good, especially since Seika wasn't that picky of an eater, no matter what she claimed to her guild mates. There was a difference between enjoying all types of edible dishes and wanting to consume fried cat hairballs. Dog biscuits were good though! Seika made herself a mental reminder to try to remember to buy some for Lupa, since there were some gourmet ones that she really liked to eat too, and sharing them with Lupa meant more treats and fun for both of them, together.

At this point, Seika's thoughts had drifted back to the conundrum from before, and she took a short breath before finally saying what was on her mind. "Okay! So, um, I hypothetically believe you, Missus. Commander. Erm, that you're Amalie West. Even though I know that Amalie has white hair..." she whispered that last part, barely audible under her breath. After all, the girl had been made very certain of that fact. Her source was one hundred percent credible, which meant that even if she chose to believe the blue haired woman, nothing could change the truth! Still, Seika would go along with whatever the commander said for now. In the end, she would believe the word of... wait, the commander? The mage braided the ends of her hair absentmindedly as she tried to work through the puzzle of what was happening. The person who had told her the white haired man was Amalie West... who had that person been, again? Seika frowned. It seemed that she couldn't remember the exact source. But still, it had to have been credible, for her to originally believe it.

Trip Trip Fall in Love... Just Kid-ding! (Seika, Amalie) Empty Re: Trip Trip Fall in Love... Just Kid-ding! (Seika, Amalie)

Post by Amalie 12th August 2020, 4:57 pm

If she hadn't been certain before, she was certain now that Seika was challenged. This didn't do much to garner any sympathy from Amalie, but it certainly added a question that was perhaps more pressing. What should she do with her after? She could get her food but was this girl going to be okay wandering around parentless and well, the way that she was. It was morally questionable to abandon her, but then again this random stranger, young teen or not, really wasn't Amalie's responsibility. After a moment of pondering, Amalie decided that she would leave that decision until after she ate. She certainly couldn't take Seika into her meeting with the Magic Council, not if she wanted them to take her seriously.

It almost didn't surprise Amalie that when the peach-haired girl answered her question, she didn't actually answer her question. Instead, she would answer by telling Amalie that she wanted to become a woolly mammoth and to use that to end their extinction. Amalie only made a mild effort to restrain her look of displeasure from the simplicity and awkwardness of the response. Of course, she hadn't specifically expressed that she was asking about the food, but she had assumed that Seika would understand this. It seemed that she had been wrong to assume this and that everything Amalie would say was going to be open to misinterpretation. She was going to need to get literal.

The slither of a mild sneer did slip through the cracks in her facade of barely existent patience. "Okay, yeah, nice story. I mean what do you want to eat? We're at the food stall now, and I'm offering to buy you a meal from the menu. Please choose something from this cart that you would like to eat, ONLY things that they sell." She told her clearly, trying to explain herself fully so that Seika wouldn't once again misunderstand or dither off into another random train of thought that had nothing to do with what Amalie was trying to communicate with her.  God forbid, Seika would likely say that she wanted to eat the vendor, because she had white hair like cotton candy or something ridiculous like that.

It would seem, at the very least, Amalie had sort of convinced Seika of her name. Albeit with much resistance, Amalie had almost missed the whispered addition, due to how quietly Seika had said it. Aside from the words 'white hair' barely catching her attention, had she said that? Or had Amalie misheard it? She was sure that the movement of Seika's lip reflected those words, although it had been muttering, so she could be wrong. Still, to test the waters, instead, she decided to continue the flow of conversation. "Yes, Commander Amalie West. I work under the Ambassadors, Sivvy and Johann Von Weiss. Johann is actually my partner, you might have seen him in Sorcerer Magazine. He has white hair, and is listed as an Ishgar's, God of Might." She said pointedly, wondering if her suspicion was right. Whether Seika had in fact, thought that Johann was Amalie. Then hopefully, at the very least, this might clear it up.

Although might was a keyword here.

Trip Trip Fall in Love... Just Kid-ding! (Seika, Amalie) Empty Re: Trip Trip Fall in Love... Just Kid-ding! (Seika, Amalie)

Post by Ran 13th August 2020, 7:10 pm

This lady was just super adorable! The more she hung around her, the more she felt like she was experiencing some kind of state of peacefulness. Seika wondered if it would be too much to ask to take a picture of her. Nothing was nothing without um, going for it! Er, was that how the phrase went? Shrugging, she was about to speak up when the woman suddenly began to speak very firmly, and rather slowly. It was pretty easy to understand! Well, except for the fact that there was so much of it. Even though she was nodding along to the words, eventually, it just became tooooo many words to hold in her head at once. What she wanted to eat... food! Other things weren't that good, right? Um, right, they were at the food stall. That was nice. And the Commander had ordered a crepe, she remembered! Meanwhile, though, the girl had to take a break to process what she had been told so far. It was just too many words. Ah, okay, that was good, now back to listening... choose something from the cart... okay, she could do that... glancing at it, she spotted a bottle of chocolate sauce.

What a pretty, warm colored bottle! Seika tried to remember the reason she was supposed to pick something from the cart. If it was for a magic trick, maybe a bottle would be perfect. Otherwise, one could never go wrong using chocolate sauce on anything! Except maybe papers. They could melt, er, get soggy. "The bottle of chocolate sauce," she said proudly, glad to have helped out the Commander with whatever choice she had been trying to make. Ooh, maybe it was the toppings for her crepe? That would make a whole lot of sense, although, hadn't she already chosen strawberry sauce- wait, no, she had picked chocolate sauce, that was right! Well, in that case, Seika would just have to pick something else, wouldn't she. "Ahh, wait, sorry! I think strawberry sauce is good, it's kind of like strawberries," she told her. Because of that, it would compliment the actual strawberries on the crepe.

Now that her task was all taken care of (Seika still felt very happy she was able to help out the woman by helping her choose) she paid attention again to what she was saying, her mind clear. Mm... Commander Amalie West, that was such a pretty name. Wait, what? The mage's forehead crinkled up as she tried to piece together that. So, this woman was the Commander. And then... Amalie West was... right, so, there was only one solution. "Oh, you two are married, right?" She was saying something about working with Ambassadors, which must have meant she was a very important person. It made sense she was in Era, then! There were tons of diplomats from other countries, and those were called Ambassadors, as far as the girl knew. But what she really focused on was that thing about the partner. Yes yes and more yes, she did know that guy with the white hair! She had seen pictures. And the Commander said he was her partner, which made perfect sense with her marriage theory. Married people always went on taking each others' names and stuff like that. "So you're Amalie West now," Seika nodded in comprehension. It all was coming together.

Trip Trip Fall in Love... Just Kid-ding! (Seika, Amalie) Empty Re: Trip Trip Fall in Love... Just Kid-ding! (Seika, Amalie)

Post by Amalie 16th August 2020, 9:42 am

Amalie would stare blankly at Seika after she stated her order, which as it turned out was not for anything that was on the menu. It was for a bottle of chocolate sauce, which she quickly changed her mind. Switching it to Strawberry sauce. Amalie frown, trying to figure out if the girl was intentionally just asking for the sauce alone. Surely not. However, she couldn't be completely sure. So instead of clarifying with her, Amalie decided to do something else instead, based on what the girl had just said. She turned her gaze back to the vendor, "Can we get one plain crepe, one pot of strawberries and the bottle of strawberry sauce?" She asked, not really caring if Seika wanted all of that, she figured she would order it anyway, the girl could either build her own crepe. Or Amalie would take whatever was left back for Sivvy, who she had no doubts would be more than pleased with such a treat. Deconstructed or not.

"I'm sorry... the bottle?" The vendor asked her tone one of concern and confusion. Amalie's eyes narrowed slightly, her demeanour indicative of her lack of patience. "Did I stutter? Yes, the bottle. Whatever the charge, I can cover it." She pulled out several notes, it was somewhat wasteful, which she didn't appreciate. But the girl was ...special, and so she figured she could push aside her own ideas to make sure that the very least she was well fed. Hesitantly the woman handed over the bottle of strawberry sauce, along with the rest of the order that she had finished preparing. Amalie took the plain crepe, pot of strawberries and sauce and handed it to Seika. Before taking her own crepe in hand, continuing to walk along she would bite into her crepe. It was exquisite. The smooth chocolate coupled with the sugary tang of the strawberries, wrapped in a light fluffy and warm pancake-like sheet. Needless to say, she quite enjoyed crepes, in fact, they were arguably one of Amalie's favourite desserts.

Amalie was somewhat surprised by the younger girls next question, not sure where she had come to this conclusion. Were they rumours floating around that she didn't know about? Or had Seika done some more weird workings out in her head that made her think that? The blue-haired woman continued to stroll along, moving in the general direction of the magic council building. "No, not quite. We did marry once for an event, but that was hardly official, and immediately annulled at the end of the day." She explained rather casually, before taking another bite of her crepe. She would chew for a moment, swallowing after Seika elaborate. "I am Amalie West now." She confirmed, still somewhat unsure of what Seika was getting at, but not caring enough to try and figure it at. At the very least, the girl knew her name now.

Trip Trip Fall in Love... Just Kid-ding! (Seika, Amalie) Empty Re: Trip Trip Fall in Love... Just Kid-ding! (Seika, Amalie)

Post by Ran 17th August 2020, 5:13 pm

The vendor didn't seem to be about to answer the statuesque woman's question, so Seika chimed in helpfully. "Nope, you didn't stutter! You actually speak really slowly and clearly, it's nice! You have an amazing voice," the girl clapped, unable to contain her enthusiasm when she was voicing her thoughts out loud. Not only was the woman's way of speaking nice, but she just overall seemed to be an incredibly sweet individual! It was really unnecessary to buy her the bottle, though. Unless, wait, it actually made sense to buy it for Seika and then have her carry it. Smiling happily, glad that the commander wasn't wasting any money, she hefted the pot in her own arms, and wedged the bottle of strawberry sauce in the crook of her elbow, next to her ribcage. There, a nice little spot for it! She could hold it like a baby. Ooh, and it looked like she was going to be holding the crepe too! That was- oh, wait, never mind! Still, it looked like the woman was enjoying her snack.

As the two of them moved along, Seika was happy to just listen to her for a little bit more. So, they weren't married... anymore? But, either way, it seemed like the name had stuck, judging by how she confirmed that she was indeed Amalie West now! The mage was overjoyed to have a proper name to refer to her by now, in her head. "Are you planning to get married again someday? Are you eighteen?" Now that she did know the woman's name, though, the girl wasn't quite certain how she should call her out loud. "What do you like to be called by? Just Amalie?" Previously, erm, if she could remember correctly? She had been calling her just 'Commander,' because of not knowing her name. Or not believing her name. Either way, it was the same difference! Mostly, at this moment in time, Seika just wanted to know more about this cool woman.

Oh, and to help her out! She wanted that too. "Ah, I almost forgot! Your strawberry sauce!" She pulled the bottle out of its position, nestled in the bend of her arm. Holding it out to the woman, she waited for her to accept it, or motion for her to pour it over the crepe, or... something like that. Actually, now that she was squinting between the two of them, Amalie and the strawberry confection... she thought maybe there were some similarities. The pot of strawberries was also really pretty! Once again, she wondered if it would be too rude to ask for a picture. Had Aphelia been here, the mage would have asked her bond mate for advice. As of right now, the best option, in her opinion, was to wait a little longer on that front.

Trip Trip Fall in Love... Just Kid-ding! (Seika, Amalie) Empty Re: Trip Trip Fall in Love... Just Kid-ding! (Seika, Amalie)

Post by Amalie 27th August 2020, 9:24 am

Amalie offered Seika a small side glanced at her confirmation that Amalie, in fact, did not stutter. Not quite picking up on the rhetorical nature of the woman's accusation, not that it mattered. Her point was made regardless and she got her way as she had anticipated. With a steady pace they moved on, Amalie momentarily eased by the delightful flavour of the crepe she was enjoying. All the while thinking about how much Sivvy would have relished in such a delicious dessert, also pondering how Sivvy would have probably purchased one of everything the stand had to offer. And would polish it off in a matter of minutes, no doubt. The Pinkette was special like that, whatever mechanisms her creators had used when designing her, it wouldn't surprise Amalie if they had skipped any inclusion of the Leptin hormone at all. Because for as long as she had known Sivvy, she wasn't sure she had ever heard her use the phrase 'I'm full' in any capacity.

Seika's next question made her arch her brow, her lips curling in slight amusing. "Not very good at guessing ages are you? Eighteen, really." She shook her head, "No, I'm actually twenty-seven years old. And yes, I do hope to get married someday, when the time is right." At the very least, it might be on the cards for her. She didn't have any inkling that Johann was against the thought of marrying her, although she couldn't tell if he had any thoughts of doing it any time soon either. They had been dating for over a year now and living together for several months. And whilst she had no doubts as to what her answer would be should he ask, she had no intentions of pressuring the man either. She could wait, she had been married for nine years of her life already, there was no need to rush at this point. At least, Amalie didn't think so. As long as it wasn't a ridiculous wait, around the ballpark of another decade or so. But until it looked like it might take that long, then Amalie was quite happy to wait. And in the meantime, to just enjoy what they had.

"Yes, Amalie is fine." She explained to Seika, she didn't mind being called either Commander or Amalie when it came to normal folk. The only expectancy she carried was when it came to her guildmates, ingrates such as the Pegasus girl who insisted on calling her 'Miss West' like the disrespectful little airhead that she was. For some strange reason, Seika would try to give Amalie back the bottle of strawberry sauce for her, clearly, another misunderstanding that had occurred in the girls curiously little peach-haired head. Amalie decided that instead of explaining this to her, that she would offer it to her in a different way. "Keep it, consider it a gift. I have no need for strawberry sauce right now." She told her, returning once more to her own crepe. Enjoying a few more bites as they strolled. After a moment she would lick her lips and turn to the girl once more. "So, do you live near here?" She asked, trying to figure out a way to separate herself from the girl without having to actually abandon her in the middle of Era and feel bad about leaving a girl of her nature out here to fend for herself.

Trip Trip Fall in Love... Just Kid-ding! (Seika, Amalie) Empty Re: Trip Trip Fall in Love... Just Kid-ding! (Seika, Amalie)

Post by Ran 25th September 2020, 4:53 pm

Wait. Twenty seven?? But... she looked like she was eighteen years tall. Like, shouldn't someone who's twenty seven be almost twice her height since they were almost twice her age? Thoughtfully, Seika squinted at Amalie. "Hmm," she let out a low, pensive noise as her brain tried to process this information. "Marriage is cool! I want to get married someday. That way I'll have someone who will watch Aphelia for me while I go on all my adventures," she told the blue haired woman very straightforwardly. "And we can be best friends and stuff. It'll be cool!" Marrying someone was a good thought, but in reality, Seika didn't really know much about how it worked. Once, she had researched it a lot to do a presentation at school, but that was ages ago. Anyway, marriage just seemed like a super nice thing in general. But that was all head thoughts.

"Thank you for the strawberry sauce!" Seika beamed at the woman, overjoyed at the gift. It was just so sweet of her. What the mage had even done to get this type of kindness, she had no idea. Maybe Amalie was just that kind of nice person. Yeah, that had to be it. "You're a really kind person," the girl told her with a bright smile. She then went on to think about the question the other had asked. Well, if they were to think about the word near, it just kind of meant anywhere close, right? But close had the same problem.

In Seika's opinion, she kind of lived far away, but it could maybe not be far for some people. "I dunno," the mage finally settled on just that, shrugging her shoulders as she delivered a vague non answer. But she did then go further into specifying a bit. "I live in that giant monster thingy, but if you use the teleport thingy, it'll take you right over here or anywhere! So not really that far away," Seika did her best to explain. It was a little bit difficult, mostly since she herself wasn't really familiar with a map of Fiore or Earthland or anything. Distances were weird when it came to magic, because they could all be crossed super easily. "Do you?" The girl imagined that maybe Amalie was the type of person to live in this cool kind of city, with the giant buildings and big person stuff with mages from around Fiore.

Post by Amalie 27th September 2020, 5:32 pm

Finally, for the first time during this entire exchange, Amalie would get a response out of Seika that was surprisingly normal. The girl would spew her thoughts on marriage, and how she wanted to be married one day so that her partner could look after someone called Apheilia or something. Amalie didn't bother asking who or what Aphelia was, not entirely sure what sort of answer she would get, and also not really caring enough to pry. The woman simply nodded at the girl, although not entirely in agreement. You didn't always marry your best friend, after all, she certainly hadn't with Wyatt. He had been a lover, then a husband, then a corpse. Morbid as it was. There had never been any friendship between the two of them, some semblance of a partnership sure, but for the most part, their dynamic had been driven by lust and need. Need to be needed.

Perhaps that was why it hadn't worked out. That did bring up the question about herself and Johann however. Before they had slept together, they had certainly been friends sort of. Mentor and mentee kind of friends. And if she were to categorise anyone in her life as her best friend, then the title would easily fall to him, alongside Sivvy. So perhaps Seika was right, but only of course, should she ever marry Johann. That was still an uncertainty really. She did want to of course, but not until he was ready. Nor did she have any desire to push him for it, because quite frankly she was happy. Happy no matter what label they put on it, just being with him at the least, well that was enough.

As Seika thanked her for the sauce, Amalie shrugged, an amused smirk crawling onto her lips when she was referred to as a 'really kind person'. "Thank you, many would disagree but I will take your word for it." She responded in an amused tone, really kind wasn't a compliment that was ever directed her the blue-haired commander. In fact, she was sure that this might have been a first. She would resist the urge to laugh at that, to think someone finally thought her kind and all it had taken was some strawberry sauce!

Seika's explanation for where to live was, as expected, a confusing one. But from what Amalie could decipher, the girl had a home to go to and a means to get to it easily. That was good. this meant she didn't have to worry if she left the girl to go deal with her meeting with the Magic Council. "Oh I live on Amber Island, where the Dies Irae Guild Hall is. It's quite the journey away, but easy enough to get to by teleporting or a ship for that matter." She explained casually, before taking another bite of her crepe.

Trip Trip Fall in Love... Just Kid-ding! (Seika, Amalie) Empty Re: Trip Trip Fall in Love... Just Kid-ding! (Seika, Amalie)

Seika nodded very sagely as Amalie said she would take the girl's word for her kindness. "Yes, yes, you should definitely believe me! I'm always right! Almost always," she beamed brightly. Even if some other kind of people, a lot of people from what the blue haired woman had said, disagreed, it didn't matter what the haters said! They were wrong. Maybe their minds were clouded by Amalie's beauty or something like that. Mmmhm, that had to be it. Seika knew from experience that sometimes, people were so taken in by Apehlia's cute fur and they wanted to pet it so badly that they forgot she had a personality as well. Perhaps that was a magical cat thing, though. Either way, the comparison still stood! Also, it was possible that due to her blue hair, people thought she was colder in her demeanor. Since blue and water and winter and snow and stuff like that. Nodding to herself, Seika barely managed to catch what the woman said in response to her own question of whether she lived far away or not.

"Amber Island? Is it very pretty there?" Seika would expect any place with that sort of name to be really, really gorgeous, like, all orange and tropical and glowing. But maybe Amalie's surroundings would match her appearance, in which case, it would be all red and gold and formal looking. Kind of like a ballroom. "Are you a dancer?" Seika squinted at the woman who was eating her crepe. There was something super graceful about her. Maybe she could turn into a leopard or some other kind of cool animal that could do those rawr pounce moves and bounce around. Or she was a bird that could fly super high? All of those animals would be great dancers as well, the mage was sure. Also, also, also! It was already confirmed that she had amazing magic. Since, Amalie had healed her earlier. That was definitely really nice of her, and remembering this instance only solidified Seika's notion that this woman was certainly a kind individual.

The magic itself, of course, added more credibility to a possible special animal form. Snow fairy, maybe? The girl pulled at a few strands of her hair to keep her fingers busy while her mind was working away at the possibilities.

Amalie resisted the urge to arch her brow sceptically at Seika's statement, she very much doubted this was the case but it seemed rude to point such a thing out so she said nothing. Instead of choosing to focus on her snack, it was pretty good crepe, not as good as the ones from Nat's. Then again there wasn't much confectionary that could best their local patisserie cafe, ran by one of the Dies Irae's very own Nathaniel Stratford.

She would not admit it to him but there was a quaint impressiveness to his ability to balance his duties for Dies Irae and his business. Amalie respected that. Then again Nat was perhaps one of the preferred soldiers that she got to liaise with as a Commander, Sivvy has chosen an exceptional mentee. Aside from that one incident with the Cringe, but at least in that instance, some good had come it.

"I'd say so, secluded but pleasant. Lots of trees." She told the girl, thinking about the island that was now considered her homeland. Out of all of the places, it was the place she had felt the most at ease in a long time. However, that might have had more to do with the presence of Johann and Sivvy than the place itself. Unsurprising Seika's next question seemed to come out of nowhere, but Amalie would again take it in stride.

    "No, why do you ask?"

Seika was always right. That was the thing, wasn't it? Now, even when she couldn't be sure that what she was thinking and saying were the correct things, she could somehow still be certain. Such was the unfailing positivity and lackless confidence that came from absolutely not understanding a situation.

Amalie had something special about her. Maybe it was how even though she had appeared busy, the woman had made time for Seika. Maybe it was something else. But she was special.

Seika didn't spend much time around special people, in case they discovered something different about her. The part that she wanted to keep hidden. And it felt like Amalie might be too close to the truth. It was time to leave.
