Nessa Cordelia Lux's Belated Birthday Bash! Empty Nessa Cordelia Lux's Belated Birthday Bash!

Post by Nessa Cordelia Lux 13th April 2019, 6:00 am

    You are cordelia invited to

    Nessa's 20th Birthday Bash

    Date: 3rd of April
    Location : Magnolia Stadium| Time : 7pm

This is a beach party so please dress accordingly,
Food and drink will be provided.
Gifts are NOT required, your company is enough~

All guests are permitted to bring a plus one!

    Hope to see you there.

    Guest List:

Getting a temporary beach in Magnolia hadn't been an easy foot. It had taken a lot of negotiation with the Magic Council and required multiple permits. It was actually inside of an old stadium. One usually for tournaments, the stands had been taken out. Meaning that it was about to accommodate over three hundred people standing. Not that there would be that many, still Nessa had wanted there to be lots of room for people to round around and have a good time. The entire floor of the stadium had been covered in soft sand, and twos third of it had turned into a make-shift ocean. It hadn't been easy, but she had managed to book a team of party-planning mages to set it up for her so it was realistic. The ceiling was made up of windows, so the night sky could be seen above it that replicated a twinkling night sky. Speakers built into the stadium would release party music, and there was even a bonfire set up in the centre.

A little distance from the bonfire, Nessa's father Richard was standing at a barbeque, grilling off meats for the guests. He was a humble looking man, with messy brown hair and violet eyes like his daughter. He was wearing a bright pink Hawaiian shirt, swimming shorts and sandals. Her aunt had flown back from her travels and was sitting on a log sipping a martini. She looked like an older version of Nessa, she wore a black scantily clad bikini. Her son, Edward was off splashing in the fake ocean with Sebastian and Arielle. There were a few other relatives dotted around the beach; Eating, drinking and chatting. Nessa stood at the drinks tables and was setting up cups. The party was pretty much ready, and the guests would be arriving soon. She was excited, it would be her first time hosting a birthday party as a member of Fairy Tail. But she just had so many new friends, she really wanted to get together and have a good time with all of them. It had been such a long time since she had gotten to see all of them. Plus life had been so chaotic and stressful, that she really felt like a break was in order.

"Looks like your guests are starting to arrive," Richard called, Nessa grinned. Turning away from the drinks, to greet whoever it was that was the first to get there. An excited grin on her face.

Post by Mura Kensho 13th April 2019, 7:21 am

A while before, perhaps a week or more ago, Mura had to reach his door due to the daily checking of any letters sent to him. Per experience, the contents of said personal letters sent to his humble address at the edge of Magnolia - specifically at South Gate Avenue - held info that would do one of these specific outcomes justice:

    - Convince him that he was in debt at a secret guild which would only be payable by capturing a Fenrir
    - Threaten his person and position, depending on the sender that would most likely be a powerful group or society of wizards from outside Fiore
    - Be a love letter- hah, kidding, Mura had never gotten one
    - Be an invitation to a party, which was… well, fine, what was the worst that could happen? And by that, it was meant that several events in the past were competing with each other in being the worst party ever
    - Be a request directly from Magic Council about the invasion from Santa Claus, Moon Sugar, elves, demons, monsters or other extraterrestrials
    - Be a complaint from the realtor concerning either his neighbors’ displeasure of having him around or certain civilians’ shocked experiences with Kyuken’s preying handiwork
    - Or, at best, an update from his clan and family in Midi

This was a new one, however. Mura wiped off the sweat from his forehead and sighed with air of joy rising up in his lungs. It was an invitation, yes, but to a birthday party… Mura had never attended a birthday party before. And because of his foreign origin, he wanted to ignore the random word pummeled into the first sentence, but it was obvious that the sender was Nessa. She was turning 20 today, which would make her one year older than him.

Since it was beach-themed, minimal clothing was the norm. A pair of green swimming trunks, his bear claw necklace, and an exotic, feathery accessory on his headband. As painful as it felt… he would have to leave Harusame and Futsu no Mitama no… the long-named sword at home. This was the spring break that he dearly needed.

“This’ll be good for all of us,” Zirconis commented as Mura was fully ready and set for the birthday party, “I can get some sleep, and you can take a day off to recover your apparent scars and wounds - really, you’re looking more dead than me.” It was true that during the years, Mura had gotten injured by numerous causes. Although he had help to recover fast afterwards, some wounds stuck deeper than others, for instance the one, long scar from his left shoulder down to his hip. He just needed a day or two more to leave that as the only injury again…

But hey, scars were totally the shit, weren’t they? At least, he was physically healthy.

“Give me time to recover. I’m not good at healing magic,” he informed Zirconis, who had assumed the obvious fact thrown at him a long time ago, “… I’m more worried about him.” Behind the two reasonable entities, the blue samurai ball known as Kyuken embodied danger and the need for caution on his contorted face. The very mention of ‘beach’ woke the deranged lady killer within his previous life from the dead, and he couldn’t help but imagine all the beach babes that would come to Nessa’s party - all that eye candy intoxicated him.

Nessa Cordelia Lux's Belated Birthday Bash! FFKGEFz

Mura felt like holding a leash to him on the way to the stadium. He was unpredictable at times, and if Kyuken got into trouble, Mura would be pulled in like a magnet… or like he was bound to Kyuken on the hips. He wouldn’t want to worry when the stadium was in front of him, inviting him to a pleasant first birthday party for his respected and adorable guildmate Nessa. And boy, the place must’ve taken weeks or months to prepare for the occasion. Was it a bit too much, maybe…?

Once he entered, he felt… paranoid. The glass dome around him was huge, and he felt like he just entered a new world. He could see drinking stands further ahead, but he first met Nessa seemingly waiting for the first guests. A tad overwhelmed, he clapped his hands and bowed while greeting her: “Hi there, Nessa… congratulations on your 20th birthday. I wish you-“ Shit, Kyuken was on the move. He was allured by the beauty in front of him, and like a typical ‘action’ pervert, he lashed out. Mura, with his veins almost popping as time slowed down around him, commanded Zirconis with a single word: “Zir.” The dragon spirit ball managed to tackle Kyuken to the side with his fangs, and they began a brawl only visible by Fairy Tail Wizards near the two Aces. "... several years of luck..."

“…” Sweat pearls dropped off Mura’s forehead to signal his sense of awkwardness. And yet, he kept up a bright smile. “I… Sorry for that. This is the first birthday party that I’ve been to… are the others here already? Markus? Arcadia? Sorano? Or maybe Althea is here…” He scanned the area for a brief second before continuing, “But no juice boxes on the sand, yet…”

Post by Heresy 13th April 2019, 12:34 pm

It had been a few days since Winchas joined Fairy Tail despite the rocky start. However somehow the gunslinger pulled through, and now her skills are an asset to the guild, for at least those who require her skills at least. It was weird being older than a majority of the guild yet be actually weaker than them in terms of magic power. Then again she was gunner first, not mage.

And one day, while chilling in her workshop, doing routine fixups and maintaining the place on her own, she receives a letter left for her at the table. Winchas is no stranger to letters, after all she had taken requests for services through this paper communication. What she did not expect was the letter to be an invitation for a party, and thus she skimmed through the letter's contents.

Winchas had never personally met this Nessa. Perhaps it was a massinvite, the kind multiple people would get at once, however the date seems to be a bit off. This was a letter given weeks ago. Winchas smiled, someone was turning 20. It made her feel a bit old, being 22, and even a two year gap is still enough to know a separation in age.

Skip forward a few days and Winchas hauls a bunch of boxes towards the venue. Quickly setting the cart safely outside and ensuring it was not wet or in risk of getting stolen or wet, the gunslinger makes her way inside. The gunslinger did not actually get herself swimwear, for she spent a bit too long getting her surprise ready for Nessa. It was no birthday present, but it was going to give the 20th birthday an extra spice.

Winchas had never actually gone to a beach indoors, so the spectacle of it all was rather wonderful. However the focus is not the beach stadium that possibly took ages to fully remodel for this one day purpose, but the birthday girl. Skipping over to Nessa, ignoring the awkward Mira before jumping and giving Nessa a big long hug.

"Happy 20th birthday my fellow guild mate Nessa! You may know me as the lady who blew up the first floor but today I am ready with you for your awesome 20th birthday! You are going to love what I had made for you," Winchas slips an arm behind Nessa's shoulder and points her palm of her other way to the glass ceiling and does a motion from left to right. "The sky will paint itself in beautiful lights for you tonight! Once I get them going of course!" Winchas grinned with the sparkle of the stars themselves, filled with genuine joy from ear to ear.

Wearing a blue one-piece swimsuit with desert camouflage shorts and boots for footwear, she wore her Argent Gloves and backpack with her green-and-gold outfit inside: she also carried an invitation in her right hand. Leona walked into Magnolia Town and tried not to notice the gazes of the citizens of the town that Fairy Tail called home. The blonde had left all her weapons at Silver Wolf Guild Hall because today she was attending a birthday party. However, this was not just any birthday party... the party was being held for Nessa Cordelia Lux, the Wizard Saint of Purity and a high-ranking member of Fairy Tail. Leona decided to attend the party out of respect for a fellow Wizard Saint and to do something uplifting after successfully containing a demonic incursion in Fat Monsterland.

"It's her! It's the Wizard Saint of Courage!" A green-haired teenage female in a green tank top and short blue jean shorts with sandals exclaimed. She brought out her bubblegum pink iLac and snapped a picture as Leona strode by. The teenager then scurried away to tell her friends about her brief sighting of the Wizard Saint of Courage. Others kept their distance and watched in silence as the blonde walked

Leona walked through Magnolia Town and followed the directions on the invitation until she reached the site of the party. It was a fairly large stadium that featured a clear dome supported by metallic framework. Leona walked inside without being challenged but kept the invitation in her hand in case she was challenged inside the stadium.

    -Inside the stadium-

Leona walked in through a lobby strung with a banner that read "HAPPY 20TH BIRTHDAY!" and passed by a concession stand with the metal shutter rolled down. She found a tunnel that led to the stadium and went through it. She knew that it was the right one because there was a dim light at the end and music playing through speakers. The blonde was glad that she had natural night vision because navigation might have otherwise been difficult. Leona passed through the tunnel and emerged at the other end to see Nessa Cordelia Lux, Mura Kensho, a blonde guild member of Fairy Tail, and some other people including a guy in a Hawaiian shirt and an older woman in a skimpy black bikini who looked just like Nessa except her magic signature was weaker.

It was at that moment Leona realized that she had forgotten something very important. She had forgotten to get Nessa a gift! The blonde's heart sank, her face turned beet red, and her stomach turned a flip. She had no idea what the Wizard Saint of Purity liked... even if Leona had an idea it was too late to get a gift because most of the good gift shops were closed. This was more than a little embarrassing... the blonde wished that she knew some good invisibility magic so that she could disappear.

It was too late now. Leona could only go forward and greet her fellow Wizard Saints and the other guests attending the party. Leona used her ability to sense magic to find the real Nessa, who was wearing a white bikini. Nessa had gotten a lot stronger since their last meeting; Nessa and Leona were equals in terms of magical power.

"Hi Nessa!" Leona cheerfully greeted the Wizard Saint whose birthday it was.

    Adalinda

    The Iron Dragon Slayer

Adalinda looks at the invitation she had gotten to someone's party. Who were they again? She thinks as she starts at the blasted thing. ‘You dimwit. You met her at the beach in Tolgalen. When all three guilds were together after they had made an alliance.’ The dragon within her head was grumbling about how his host was the worst person ever, especially with her memories. But they both knew the reason behind it, magic tampering with her mind. Ada didn't need to think of that now. She had this invite to consider. It was another beach party… Tamaria might like it. She had been worked a bit much lately… a short break was what they needed, just Tammy wasn't allowed any alcohol this time. She had made herself to be a fool last time. Speaking of Tammy, she had just come over and peered over her slayers shoulders to see what she was looking at. “Ooh? A party? For who?” “It’s for Nessa, one of the Aces of Fairy Tail.” The dragon slayer says as she sits back. “Would you… want to go?” The purple exceeds eyes lit up with sheer excitement as she grabbed Ada’s shoulder. “Yes! Lets get going!” She calls out and quickly flies up stairs to get herself changed. Ada knew she misplaced her own swimwear from before, so she’d have to go and get a new one.

Tammy had offered to go on ahead and get Ada hers, knowing her sizes and what she liked and all. The black haired girl felt no reason to doubt her companion, and said she’d meet up with her at the stadium. She arrives at the place in a white tank top and jeans, and some plain sneakers. For once, her hair was down as she shoves her hands into her pocket. A few people had already arrived. A couple others seemed familiar, but she wasn’t too sure. “Hey! Uh… Nessa!” She scratches the back of her head and takes a deep breath. “Sorry, I’m not too used to these things. Thanks for inviting me though!” She runs a hand through her hair, and looks around at all the sand. She didn’t go to the beach much lately. It was a nice change from plants. She turns around as she senses her exceed flying in, and smiles. “I’ll be right back and go change.” Tammy giggles and waves. She was in her neko form and wearing a yellow beach wrap towel over a purple bikini. “Thank you for inviting us, Nessa! I promise not to get drunk this time…” She nervously blushes and she quickly goes after Adalinda to the bathrooms and give her her new swimwear.

A moment later, Tamaria came flying out fast, holding onto Ada’s clothes and trying her hardest not to giggle as she tried to find someplace to hide. Adalinda came out of the bathroom wearing a light blue bikini, and having a rather red face as she felt embarrassed. Bikini’s weren’t her definition of swim clothes. The plus to this bikini, was that it had more fabric to it than simple strings, and seemed to cover her slightly more. The dragon slayer takes a deep breath and runs her hand through her hair again. She made her way towards where everyone else was, all while having a puffed up cheek. Ada sees Tammy, and the exceed giggles as she had her clothes in a bag. “You look adorable, you’ll thank me later.” The exceed snorts to Ada while she made her way to a seat. Adalinda looks over to Mura and Leona, and gives them a bit of a nod. To the people who seemed like they were relatives to Nessa, she gives a nervous smile, but waved to them regardless. Why did she come again? Oh yeah, for a break. A much needed break. And, frankly, Ada needed to make friends with people outside of the West Fiore Trading Company still.

Nessa Cordelia Lux's Belated Birthday Bash! Empty Re: Nessa Cordelia Lux's Belated Birthday Bash!

Post by Samira Nassar 16th April 2019, 8:55 am

((Got permission from Nessa for Gisen Ceostra to be my Plus 1. Gisen will get a post up asap.))

"A... Birthday invitation?" Well yes. It was. Somehow Samira had been invited to a birthday party. A first really, and it was for someone she didn't know all too well. Nessa Cordelia Lux. A wizard saint and ace of fairy tail. That was one reason why Samira knew the name, but the person attached to the name she had met only once while on the judge panel for Fairy Tail's duel event. They didn't say much more than a hello to each other and even after the event was over neither had run into the other. Yet there Samira was, contemplating what kind of present she was supposed to give to someone she barely knew. It had already been decided that she was going, if only to socialize more with others and to experience being at a beach party. There was one other issue though, one that didn't involve the optional gift that was sure to bring a lot of over thinking and worry in it's own right. The invitation said that she could have someone as a plus one. One. Not several dozen. A good many of spirits were going to end up a bit jealous and angry if she chose just one to be a guest of the party. There was just one thing to do to prevent that; ask someone that wasn't categorized as a summon to come along. That list was much smaller these days, but there was at least one person that likely would not turn down the opportunity to attend a party. Maybe. How that person handled social events currently was not something Samira really knew, but she was going with it anyway. And so, the bunny girl known as Gisen Ceostra was invited to be the plus one.

Fast forward in time to the date of the party. Samira and Gisen had met up where she was staying just before the party in order to get ready for it. Since she had the invitation and Gisen was the plus one, it was just easier to go together than to simply meet up there instead. It was to be a beach party and so Samira had to dress accordingly. Unfortunately, letting a spirit do the swimsuit option was a poor decision. What came back from that shopping trip was a some sort of swim outfit that was having an identity crisis. Was it meant to be a one piece that was ripped to shreds or an unfinished bikini? She didn't rightly know, and she didn't even want to wear it. However, she was the dumb one to not check it over before the party day and it was much too late to pick another one now. She'd have to deal with it and hope the swimsuit cover would make her feel more comfortable even while in public. "All right, are you ready to go?" Samira asked Gisen after her own preparations were complete. "You did make sure that Silvia and Raphael know to not crash the party, correct?" It was a valid concern, more so because of Raphael than Silvia. The Wizard Saint did not really want Nessa's birthday party to come to a halt or be ruined if her plus one's sylphs caused any trouble. Or her own spirits for that matter but they were another story. Once the bunny elemental confirmed that she was ready, a transportation portal appeared within the room for the two of them to go through. Traveling came easy for someone with a spirit that could make such portals, and thanks to the invitation the destination was easy to set. "To the Magnolia Stadium then!" Samira stepped through the portal and waited for Gisen to also appear outside the stadium's entrance. The portal dispersed into particles right after, leaving no way for either of them to go back the way they came.

"I wonder how many people are here by now. If I was invited then surely nearly everyone she knows was as well," Samira commented to Gisen, but it was also more of a random outward thought that slipped. Her green eyes stared at the stadium in awe. For someone to rent an entire stadium and to turn it into a beach-type setting was impressive. Nessa must have been one popular girl with the funds to match. If Samira had not been prodded to get moving by Gisen at that point then she would start walking inside with the invitation in hand. "We should get inside before we are late."

There had been traces of music when the two of them were outside, but as they got closer to the actual party the music got louder. The beach description was no joke or over-exaggeration. The inside of the stadium really had a lot of work done to it that even a fake ocean was there. There was also a bonfire and it did seem that some people had also already come for the party. Some Samira recognized and others she did not. "Lets go find the birthday girl and say our hellos." That wouldn't have been too hard most likely. Just go to where everyone else was likely gathering before running off to do their own thing. There was the sound of another portal opening right behind the two of them, as well as quite a few sounds of boxes being dropped on top of each other. Samira turned to look behind her and for a moment she her face paled as she stared at the large pile of wrapped and ribbon covered boxes. "That and we should probably find out where we are supposed to put all of these presents." When one invites Samira to a party they do not get just one gift. They get well over forty, one from each spirit. Whether they were good gifts or not was questionable since Samira herself did not even know. Maybe she should get rid of them before they were opened just in case they were nothing more than gag gifts.

A portal opened up over the pool, hanging horizontally over the water. Arcadia peered down through the portal in the floor of her room in Fairy Hills. Her presents were wrapped and ready to go, sitting on her bed. The blonde slayer planned on leaving them there for now. They would be only another portal away to retrieve. This was super exciting! Big sister's birthday made her think.  Some of her non-wizard friends had invited her to their birthday parties, but this one really made her think about her own.

Arcadia was not even sure if modern day Fiore's calender had the same months as the ancient Dragnof calender. That was something she should look into.Figuring big sister would be busy in the beginning greeting many of her other guests, she decided she would wait until the initial rush was over.

Wearing the same bikini she had back at the Alliance beach gathering, she jumped  feet first  into the portal, dropping down the tens of feet down into the pool below! With her the power of  ice crystal created illusions, Arcadia made the illusion of a waterfall pouring from the portal with her. The silent illusion of  sparkling fireworks spelling out:

    **HAPPY BIRTHDAY, BIG SISTER!**

The sparkling letters trailed behind her, slowly floating away to nothing with the rest of her illusion. She pulled her knees up to her chest to turn her jump intoa cannonball before crashing through the surface of the water.

She had jumped with her scissors in hand, so after the portal from her room closed, she opened  new portal just below the surface, creating a circular waterfall in the middle of the pool. Just off center, an exit portal opened  over the surface returning the waterfall straight back into the pool.  Arcadia swam  and slid through the new portal drop again  down this time with real water. A sort of makeshift waterslide. "WOOOOO-HHAAA!"

As Sol stepped into the Stadium and onto warm Sands he blinked at the starry sky above and the sparkling water before him. He had gained an invitation to a fellow alliance member  birthday Nessa if he remember correctly  since he had invited her to his province, since he was currently taking a break from his training with Demi  he decided to indulge himself and visit Magnolia,  the Reaper was currently garbbed in a pair of Black and purple Swim trunks  with a zip up black sweater around his waist tied. The Vice president of the WFTC stood out with his snow white flawless skin and well muscled body though on his chest a single scar stood out on his chest, a slash mark  showing where he had been struck by Demis Scythe . the Void Dwellers eyes had also changed from being duel colored to now being a dark blood ruby red color though he still had the slit pupils.

The Sweater also covered another part of Sol that he had recently obtained and that was a crystal on his lower back right near the base of his spine. He didn’t want anyone knowing about it so he made sure the  sweater was tied tight. He walked up to the group in the stadium and smirked as he saw the birthday girl and the others nearby  he approached and he bowed to Nessa.”Happy Birthday Nessa” he said kindly as he held out a nicely wrapped bottle to her.”This is a gift from myself and the people of my Province I think you will enjoy it.” he said before he looked at Ada.”good to see you Ada  I haven’t seen you in awhile” he mentioned but then again he had been out of commission for a while as well from his training. Looking at Leona the Reaper blushing lightly before he smiled."your looking well Leona” he said softly. The albino then saw Arcadia and waved to her as well.

Nessa spotted her fellow Ace and his spirits in tow. She beamed happily, approaching him as he bowed to her. Although she was momentarily surprised when the spirits starting brawling. Nessa laughed awkwardly in return. "Oh it's quite alright, and thanks Mura, I'm glad you came. You're the first Fairy Tail member to arrive, hopefully, the others won't be too long." She commented looking around, during which she was suddenly approached by a random girl who threw herself at Nessa in a hug. Nessa blinked in confusion but hugging the girl back, because why not. She listened to the girl comment and made an 'o' with her mouth. Realising just who it was, "Oh yes, I heard about that. Or at least I got the invoice." She said with another awkward chuckle, it had been interesting having to juggle to funding to make sure the repairs were done correctly. Although from what she understood, the girl was working to help repay the debt of fixing the damages she'd caused. "Why thank you, gifts certainly weren't required, but appreciated nonetheless... I look forward to your display ummm... Winchas is it?" She tested, trying to remember the name on the paperwork.

Nessa heard someone greet her and looked up from the new girl followed shortly by Adalinda and the exceed Tammy. She smiled waving back. "Hey Leona, Ada,Tammy," She reeled off the names, trying to make sure she mentioned them all. "Good to see you. Thank you for coming!" Nessa felt a sudden pressure on her shoulder, and glanced to the side to see Sebastian, her little grey exceed standing there. Eying the purple neko with a hard stare. Nessa nodded as Adalinda commented about getting changed, and smiled at Tammy's comment, "Oh that's okay, I don't mind, as long as you have fun!" Nessa turned her head sharply to Sebastian.

"Can you not stare so much, you probably freaked her out." She muttered the Exceed sharply, he glanced at her incredulously and scoffed. "As if, I was giving her my smoulder, I think she liked it." Nessa snorted and rolled her eyes. Nessa could see more people arrived, some she knew, some she didn't. She spotted Arcadia's message and grinned at the sight. She would have to catch up with her later. She turned her gaze back to the group, spotting another individual approaching. She recognised the Vice President of the West Fiore Trading Company and offered him a smile. "Aww thanks Sol," She said taking the bottle. "I'm gonna go put this on the gifts table, feel free to help yourself to food and drink guys," She said, moving away from the group she moved toward the table sat with wrapped parcels, baskets and packages from family.

"Great turn out huh?" Nessa said to Sebastian happily, she was so pleased, who knew this many people would come to wish her happy birthday and celebrate with her. So much had changed in the past year. She placed the bottle on the table amongst the other gifts.

Post by Amalie 19th April 2019, 3:56 pm

    A week earlier~

    "Amalie?"

She had been standing in the aisle of the supermarket, dressed in casual attire for once. A white tank and jeans, not expecting to be recognised or bump into anyone that she knew. Yet it happened, whilst she was standing in the alcohol aisle of Taezcos, a basket full of liquor bottles hanging from her arm. The last woman she'd ever expected to see was there calling her name. She glanced over, and for a moment, she thought it was her mother. The long white hair and semi-simular features eying her with a smirk. Except this woman was younger, and a lot more bubbly looking than Amalie's mother. It dawned on her who it was and her mouth dropped open slightly.

"Aunt Antoinette?" She remarked with genuine surprise. Her mothers younger sister, a woman she hadn't seen in many years. Her aunt walked over to her, embracing the blue-haired woman in a tight squeeze. Amalie froze, not in any way prepared for the encounter, nor comfortable with it. the woman let got and glanced her over with a warm smile.

"Amalie dear, it's been so long. I almost didn't recognise you, you were just a teenager when I last saw you. You're so grown up!" She crooned silkily, it had been an awfully long time. Amalie didn't know her aunt particular well, from what she understood. Her mother wasn't especially close to her younger sisters. Although her mother never quite said why Amalie always found them quite agreeable. Even Cordelia, when she had been alive had actually been nice to Amalie.

"Yes it has, are you well?" She remarked stoically, not really sure what else to say.

"Oh you know, fabulous as always. But let's not talk about lil ol' me. I'm more interested in you. You finally made use of that magic power bubbling up in there huh? I told Lana you had it in you, and that she should let me train you but she wouldn't have it, what did I know right? Look at you now, I can practically smell it on you." Amalie blinked in surprise, she didn't know that. Her mother had always made her believe that her aunts wanted little to do with her. This was... news to the Articulation mage. "Are you getting ready for a party? Me too, I've just come back from a long job. You remember Nessa? Cordelia daughter. She turns twenty this week, she's grown so much too. Such a gem. Amalie, you should come, oh please,  Nessa would be so happy to see you!" Amalie remembered her, the small white-haired child that was basically a replica of the Blossom Twins. She had always been quite perky and followed Amalie around whenever they spent any time together. Although it had been sparse, she had only met the girl three times in her entire life. "Oh I don't kno-" She began, fully ready to deny the older woman. Antoinette, however, cut her off sharply, wagging her finger at her niece.

"Ah, ah, ah. I won't take no for an answer, you're family. I expect to see you there, you can bring a friend of course. Oh and do pass the message on to Lana if you see her. She doesn't answer my letters these days." She remarked, shoving an invitation into Amalie's basket before turning on her heel. "See you soon hun~" The woman called in a sing-song force before walking off, her hips swaying exuberantly as she walked. Amalie stared after her, still in a bit of shock. Then sighing, she reached into her handbag with her free hand. Pulling out her iLac, she dialled one of the only numbers on the phone.

"Sivvy... It's Amalie. What are you doing on the third?"

    The present day~

The taxi-carriage pulled up outside the stadium, Amalie climbed out of it, she was wearing a long loose maxi-dress and a beach hat. She glanced back at Sivvy. "I appreciate you coming along." She commented, relieved at least to have someone she knew there. going to an event full of relatives, wasn't exactly Amalie's idea of fun. But hopefully, most of them wouldn't even recognise or interact with her. After all, she was Lana's daughter.

She made her way inside the stadium, she had bought a bottle of Cherry Brandy with a bow tied to it. Mainly because if things got bad and there wasn't any decent alcohol, she could just swipe it back later. Amalie eyed the beach layout before her. Huh, so the theme was accurate. Shrugging, she put the bottle on the sand for a moment, plopping off the beach hat and dropping it on top. She reached down, grabbing her dress and pulling it up over her body and over her head. Revealing a navy blue bikini beneath. She reached down and scoop up the hat and present.

"Guess we should find my cousin." She remarked blankly, looking around the beach for the girl.

Nessa Cordelia Lux's Belated Birthday Bash! Empty Re: Nessa Cordelia Lux's Belated Birthday Bash!

Post by Ray Jyx 20th April 2019, 5:09 am

This was her very first birthday party she'd ever attended.

It was a sad realization objectively, being as old as she was and having never had experiences most people take for granted. Sivvy had never had a birthday celebration at all for her or her sisters, let along attended someone else's. In the days prior to the event, the rosy-haired woman had extensively researched birthday party etiquette, including proper behavior and expectations for a beach themed situation. Though she didn't know the person being celebrated, Sivvy carried a gift anyway. It was an impeccably wrapped box with an elaborate bow, but inside was something a bit....eccentric. Those few that knew the clone probably wouldn't be too shocked at her choice, but in a party full of strangers it would probably raise an eyebrow or two. Since she'd asked Amalie what she was taking and found out she was bringing alcohol, Sivvy had whipped up something with her metal talents that would go with it. At first glance it looked like a simple, scaly dragon's egg made of polished copper, but once 'cracked' open it would reveal twin copper dragons. Each end of the shell became a drinking cup, and the tiny dragons could be tossed in the freezer to serve as ice cubes to keep a drink chilled without watering it down, while also looking cool as heck. Dragon eggs might be an odd theme to go with for a complete stranger, but one book mentioned choosing gifts that perhaps the gifter could also enjoy. Sivvy adored dragon stuff, so she assumed her choice would be agreeable to anyone.

The next concern had been attire. Today was chock full of firsts, as the clone had never been to a beach for enjoyment before. Her swim training had been done in the laboratory's pool while nude, and any experience she had with beaches had been for only a couple of jobs that required setting sail from a port or ridding an area of a sea monster. That said, she hadn't found sand enjoyable, since in her normal outfits it got in places it shouldn't and chaffed horribly. Now that she was entering the stadium in more appropriate attire, she could see how these garments were better suited. Her simple navy one-piece hid nicely under her fluttery white cover-up far away from the sand, and the lack of fabric on her legs and simple sandals allowed the gritty terrain to simply slough away with simple movement. For the occasion her hair was in a french brain instead of the usual loose pigtails.

As was usual in unfamiliar situations, she was watching Amalie like a hawk. When the slightly older woman paused to remove her covering, Sivvy did as well, folding the garment and placing it into her new beach bag that also contained a towel...and snacks, of course. Lots of snacks...just in case there weren't snacks here at the party. Or in case there weren't enough. It'd be rude of her to eat them all because she was hungry... "I don't mind coming along, Amalie," Sivvy commented to her friend, picking up her present and following behind the bikini glad woman. Looking down at her own suit, she wondered if she should have purchased one like hers...but it was unlikely her, er, top half would fill it out as nicely. "I've never been to something like this, so the experience will do me well. Maybe I'll learn how to throw these for the members.." the pink-haired girl mused.

Post by Aven Alveron 23rd April 2019, 2:37 pm

Was he truly ready? Aven tapped his foot impatiently on the roof of a nearby building, staring indecisively at the stadium. He'd been in the middle of training in the Courtyard of the Alveron Estate, when Lucy interrupted him with the delivery of a letter. The maid hadn't been especially happy about the identity of the sender, treating the envelope more or less like a dirty piece of laundry, but it was delivered all the same; even with her eccentricities, Lucy knew not to tamper with the Family's correspondence. He'd been in the middle of a set, attempting to push the limits of his new magic power, but still, he didn't receive many letters, so the occasion stood out.

Occasion, of course, was the key word, and a pit had formed in Aven's stomach, one that remained there to this very moment. Whether by choice, or by necessity, he'd abandoned his Team on a crucial mission, left them to fend for themselves without even a word of warning. He'd only been to the guild once since then, and it'd been mostly empty, his only encounter being a young woman named Valery.

Aven pursed his lips tightly. That was right; he had more to apologize for than just abandonment, didn't he? All that time knowing her, and all he'd ever done was toy with Nessa, errantly push the boundaries of what could have been a great friendship, devoid of the complications of 'man and woman'. Looking back, he wished he could take all of that back, and just be the friend Nessa wanted, the one that had promised to stay by her side.

He took a seat on the edge of the roof, one foot dangling off the side. Knowing what he did now, there was a small hope inside of him: it was possible that all of this was just a one-sided drama, just an Aside to the audience of the grand Stage Play he was performing in, and when he turned back to Nessa from the crowd, she would be none the wiser. That could be best, he thought, if what Nessa truly wanted was simply a friend, and Aven knew what could happen if the two of them crossed that line of companionship. He was a man of his word, it's was the Alveron way, and to even entertain an action that could force him to break his promise; it was almost unthinkable. Almost... he clutched tightly at the silky white button-down draped over his shoulders. That word hurt to ponder, but the pain was no greater than the ache in his chest, as he resolved to bottle up his feelings.

Strength, he knew, came from a clear mind, and thus, he fought to purge his thoughts of doubt. Aven would keep his promise, not just because it was his oath as an Alveron, but because it was the most he could do for both Nessa, and himself, to be a good friend. After all, in less than a month, he would be twenty-four years old: it was about time he let go of the past, and forge a better future. A few pats to his cheeks did the trick as he stood, skipping off the roof and onto the cobble below, only meters away from the Stadium, a small tuft of light escaping the bottom of his foot as his magic shielded his body from the impact. The breeze wafted past, causing his shirt to wave backward like a misshapen cloak, revealing the numerous lines of Radiant magic that wandered wantonly over his toned chest. He glanced down, a smile beginning to form. He hadn't been to the beach since his encounter with Grim Heresy, and now was as good a time as any.

The venue was just as spectacular as he'd imagined, a number of wizards already congregating for the festivities. Glancing around, he saw a surprising number of familiar faces; Little Arcadia was there, Mura and his spirits, even the Guild Master of Silver Wolf, Leona Jarnefeldt! The light pulse of his Radiance lines grew steadily quicker, in response to the level of concentrated magic power in the area: whether intended or not, this was a gathering of transcendentally powerful Wizards, the energy from Leona far greater than he remembered from their Duel. He smiled a bit brighter at the thought of a rematch, someday.

As his gaze and senses shifted, the surprises didn't end. Over by a large pile of presents was none other than Samira Nasaar, in the flesh. He'd never seen her in person, and admittedly, she appeared much more slender and beautiful than he'd imagined someone with such a monstrous magic presence to be. Perhaps, a few months ago, Aven would have frozen in place, stunned at being so close to the pinnacle of magical achievement: however, his stride was unbroken. He stood nothing to gain by being timid, nor shying away from strength. Perhaps, he would introduce himself later; there were any number of things he could learn by speaking with a Wizard of her caliber.

The next patron he spied, however, did give him a small bit of pause, and for good reason. It was Amalie, the wizard with a stare as icy as his mother's; or, at least, what his mother used to have. Drani Alveron had lost a bit of her edge, as of late, a detail easily lost on Aven. He walked onward, a bit wary to keep his gait at a pace to stay clear of the wizard. He was here to attend Nessa's birthday, after all, not feud with a cranky middle-aged woman. On the same token, he stealthily sneaked behind a few of the awnings of the beach area to avoid the other dangerous middle-aged woman in the vicinity. Getting spotted by Antoinette would be more trouble than he wanted to deal with at the moment, when he still hadn't found Nessa in the crowd. She'd eventually sniff him out, but for the time being, he was careful to bide his time. Mr. Lux was cooking up some food, as well, he'd definitely have to make a stop for a burger or something, as directed by a short rumbling from his stomach.

There were several other wizards present that he didn't recognize, all of which he made a point to introduce himself to later. It would be useful to know as many Wizards as possible, and this casual party setting was a great place to make new friends and allies. Finally, of course, he spotted Nessa among a small gathering of guests, and as they parted, Aven strode forward. His smile was different now, somehow: the gentleness that had been his signature for so long was less prominent, an air of confidence now equal in measure. Nevertheless, it was a bright and friendly as ever, perhaps even more so as he met her eyes.

"It's been a while, Nessa, Happy Birthday; and just when I thought I would've caught up to you, you've gone grown even more." Aven shook his head in mock shame, glancing at Sebastian. "Wasn't it your job to keep her small and cute forever, Sebastian? She's growing up, what happened?" He settled for making a few jokes; here was no reason to damped the mood of the party with an apology, he wanted Nessa to have a great time at her party. Maybe, some time later, they could talk, but for now, he was going to enjoy himself.

The Ambassador couldn't help but sigh a little, closing his eyes and leaning back in his leather chair as he set down the pen on his desk. The flood of paperwork seemed almost endless, the stacks of paperwork growing taller and taller, the man barely managing to keep up. "It's just for a while", the would tell himself. It was just a spike of work now that the guild known as Dies Irae had begun handling more and more jobs and sending out more and more mages on missions, the actual business part of the newly formed legal guild beginning to flourish. Luckily. The man felt something that perhaps could be interpreted as a semblance of pride for the thing that had been created with the funding of the Magic Council of Fiore. Though, the fact remained that, even with dedicated offices and clerks, the busywork would never end. At least he had his rose-haired mentee to help him out, the God of Ishgar certain that, without her, he would've given up or gone insane a long time ago. Mars never-ending commentary on, well, everything didn't exactly help a lot, either. Johann opened his eyes again, the soft spring sun casting rays of light through the windows of his office, illuminating the desk before him. It wouldn't help. He had to get through this eventually, one way or another, and so, the man reached for the next sheet, raising a brow when, underneath the white paper, he found the envelope. Pushing the bit of paper to the side he took it, inspecting it intently. It was undoubtedly addressed to him ... from someone he hadn't seen in a little while, though was more than familiar with. He opened the envelope without delay, unfolding the piece of paper inside, a corner of his mouth curling up into a small smirk, guessing that it was time to start looking for a present.

It was strange not wearing a uniform going out for once, the man dressed in what he had interpreted to be appropriate attire for a beach themed event. The khaki shorts and open Hawaiian shirt covered in a red and white flower pattern that revealed the runed skin on the left side of his body were certainly a drastic change, but ... he made the best of what he had. Stepping into the stadium, one of his hands holding a small, wrapped box, he couldn't help but be in awe for what seemed like a few moments. To find such an environment right in Magnolia was certainly a beautiful thing in and of itself, but the bonfire and the smell of freshly grilled meats made the whole thing a little bit better still. Though, that wasn't why the man had come. It was Nessa's birthday, after all, and he was here to congratulate his friend and fellow Wizard Saint, waiting for a little bit to catch her at a point where she didn't seem overwhelmingly busy with entertaining her guests, walking up to her slowly, the sand below his bare feet leaving a trail as he did. "Hello, Nessa. It's been a little while", he addressed the young woman with a smile that was perhaps a little warmer than what he would normally show, continuing swiftly "... Anyway, congratulations. When I got your invitation I just couldn't pass up the opportunity. Glad to see you're doing well for yourself". The words seemed excessively official, as it was so often the case with the silver-haired Rune Mage, though he was sincere, handing her the little box that contained yet another bottle. "I brought you some of the Whiskey you seemed to like so much the last time we had a drink. I do hope you enjoy it", his comment, of course, referring to the beach party that the Alliance had hosted when he had still been a member of the West Fiore Trading Company. It really had been a while, longer than it should've been. "Anyway, I don't want to hold you up longer than I have to. I'll get myself something to drink". With that, the man was already on his way, not wishing to take more of the Birthday Girl's attention than necessary. He was certain she had other gifts to receive, other guests to greet, and so, he would try to find some place where he could get something preferably alcoholic. Still, it wouldn't be long before he would freeze in place, his eyes picking out two familiar figures amongst the mages he either knew too well or not at all. What were they doing here? Did they know Nessa as well? Unceremoniously, he would make his way over. "Amalie. Sivvy. Did not expect to see you two here", he smiled, greeting both women with a nod, "good to see you guys though. Say, you don't happen to know where I can get a drink?". Anyone who knew the Rune Mage would notice that the behavior was slightly off-key for the man, but it wasn't often he got to relax at a social event either, most of the time having some kind of reputation to uphold. Here and today, he would be Johann, just Johann. No fancy titles.

Post by Gisen Ceostra 25th April 2019, 10:07 am

The feeling was all to surreal for her to believe that she'd be feeling this way towards doing anything publicly. Yet, here she was, prepped and ready to meet up with one of whom she considered to be her closest friends to head off to a birthday party. Granted, she was only as a plus one, but she felt excited for a number of reasons. The first being that Samira had even considered that she would be a choice, but more over that she was going to be going to a party.. full of people. If there was one thing that the elemental had issues with before was with anything related to strangers. This time however, she was happy, albeit bouncing in place with excitement to go. She felt almost like a small child going to the zoo for the first time. It was a strange place though when the location had been brought about to her though. A stadium..? It seemed like an odd place, however she had to think that private parties can only be so private when on the real beach. Maybe this was just a precaution on everyones part to ensure everyone had some fun.

As per the usual it seemed at this point, the bunny girl had pounced on with a hug to her friend and summoner, Samira. Loud, audible giggles left the girls mouth from her pent up excitement, fitted into her outfit for this whole thing. Meanwhile, behind her had been her sylph companion holding onto two boxes wrapped rather elegantly in bows and paper, as if they were more of christmas presents than they were for normal birthdays. Still, she smiled watching how Gisen acted now as compared to some paranoid being worried every little thing would be out to kill her. Once she'd finished up her little happy welcoming hug, the bunny girl lifted the sunglasses over her eyes and rested them up on her head, still smiling happily. "I can't thank you enough for inviting me! I'm super excited!" She exclaimed, walking over to grab the couple boxes of presents from Silvia. "I take offense to that, Ms. Nassar... I can only act as normal as the two of them let me. And thankfully, Gisen's improved much more during and post amnesia, so I haven't been in any way as aggressive with her as I used to. Thankfully, hitting a rock so many times means I don't hurt myself whacking that perverted numbskull of an angel..." Silvia replied, sighing and stepping away for a moment. "I'm just here to escort. Gotta get back to Era and help find us a place to live. I refuse forest life over a bed, and I'm surprised to say she doesn't, but I digress. In any case, have fun you two." With a smile and wave, she'd watch the pair enter Samira's portal and leave her to tend to her business.

Once arrived, Gisen couldn't help but take a vast look around. She knew... nobody here. It felt a little intimidating for her to be around so many strangers, but she'd gotten used to it by now and she knew Samira was just nearby so it wasn't as though she was really in need to worry too much. "R-Right, we should." She replied with little fighting or rebuttal. Mostly her reaction was out of the same intuition that Samira had in terms of having no idea whom else was invited. Her eyes gazed down to the presents in hand while she was surely confused on where Samira's had been. Though, when she thought about it, she could probably just teleport them here like she did with bringing the two of them, so it wasn't much of a worry at all for the most part. The slayer looked around until she had made a good 180 degree turn. It was then she had realized the two appeared right in front of the table! Setting her gifts down, she tapped the summoner on the shoulder and only smiled. Samira was a smart girl, so she needn't say anything once she turned her way. A number of people had come about to start talking to one another, but she was still wondering just what she would be in a worry for if it came down to the idea of splitting up from her friend, though that wouldn't really be too bad of a thing after a little while.

    WHEN WORDS COLLIDE

STICKS AND STONES CAN'T BEGIN TO COMPARE
It had been a while since Sorano had attended a casual, fun event, so it came as a pleasant surprise when she received Nessa’s birthday invitation. “It was Miss Nessa’s birthday already…? Time flies by, doesn’t it…” The letter mage mused aloud thoughtfully as she folded the invitation up carefully, catching the ear of her companion Hoshi lounging nearby.

“Eh?? It’s Nessa’s birthday?” The tabby jumped up, spreading her wings to fly to a better position to speak to Sorano. “Apparently so. She’s holding a beach party at an indoor beach in Magnolia – wanna go?” The letter mage lifted her head to look up at Hoshi, brushing her long black hair out of her face as she considered the idea. But while Sorano might have been reluctant to agree instantly, her feline friend was quite the opposite. “Of course, Sorano! How rude would it be not to? You’re her guild master for goodness sake – this is part of your job description!” The guild master in question blinked slowly up at the exceed, processing her words, before nodding slowly.

“I suppose so. It certainly couldn’t hurt, anyways…” She thought for a moment, then looked up. “Anyways, even though Nessa wrote that gifts are optional, it would be best to pick something out for her. Perhaps a book?”

While the ace wasn’t necessarily as bookish as Sorano herself, she supposed that a manual about light-based magics would suffice to be a decent present. With Hoshi’s affirmation, the letter mage would order the gift, and set about finding a suitable swimsuit to wear to the party.

It was to the duo’s everlasting shame that they managed to arrive late to the event, slipping through the door uncertainly before marveling at the excellent makeover the stadium had gotten. The arena had been styled to look almost identical to some sort of beach resort, with sand spread across the ground and water lapping against the edges of a makeshift store across one entire side. The night sky sparkled in through the ceiling, giving the entire place a rather ethereal feel, while a kindly-looking man flipped meat on a grill for barbecue. It was just the right combination of cozy and extravagant – nothing less to be expected from Nessa Cordelia Lux.

The letter mage’s eyes then caught on a table full of presents – it seemed the other guests had a similar idea as herself, and she would proceed to place the carefully packaged book among the rest of the gifts. The package would include a handwritten card, kindly birthday wishes written on it in Sorano’s signature formal, to-the-point writing style. With that out of the way, it would be time to enter the fray, maybe meet some new people. Seeing as Nessa seemed to be talking to many people at the moment, the letter mage looked in other directions instead. She could always give the starlight mage her birthday wishes afterwards.

The ace had certainly met quite a few people though – recognizing faces here and there such as Johann von Weiss and Samira Nassar herself, Sorano couldn’t help but be impressed. Nessa’s social skills were obviously far superior to her own. Feeling slightly uncomfortable with the thought of trying to start up a conversation, the letter mage would instead sit down at one of the tables, watching the proceedings while Hoshi flew off to play in the makeshift ocean.

Post by Leona Jarnefeldt 30th April 2019, 12:14 pm

Standing in the middle of the party area with no idea of what to do, Leona's feeling of awkwardness only grew as more and more distinguished guests poured into the dome. Adalinda Ortinbas, Arcadia Fairchilde, Samira Nassar, Johann Von Weiss, Sol Terumi, Amalie J. West, Aven Alveron, some bunny girl whose name Leona did not quite remember, a pink-haired girl in a one-piece bathing suit, and Sorano Granon had all put in an appearance. After comparing their tenure in positions of power and authority and their accomplishments against her own, Leona felt like a parvenu, which she was.

Two years ago Leona had walked out of Desierto and into Earthland looking for a start as a freelance mage. If she had the good fortune to find a guild to join she had expected to spend her career as a mage with no special titles, but fate had had other plans in store for the desert dweller. When she joined Silver Wolf all those months ago she never had the slightest idea that she would become first a Guild Ace and then Guild Mistress. Despite all her accomplishments since then the blonde could not shake the feeling that she was an upstart compared to her more distinguished peers.

Leona's train of thought was interrupted by Nessa's cheerful greeting. The Wizard Saint of Purity was a good hostess who knew how to throw a party. Leona felt even more shame about not bringing a gift for Nessa, even if it was just a bottle of alcohol like Sol had brought. The blonde had no choice but to live with it. She had briefly considered offering a sum of Jewels for a gift, but that gift was lacking in refinement compared to what the others had brought Nessa.

Leona decided to just live with the embarrassment and not scramble to come up with a good gift idea at the last moment. Doing so would only make her look even worse than she already did. She wore armored gauntlets, desert camouflage shorts over the bottom of her blue bathing suit, and wore a backpack to a party. She did not need to dig the hole that she was standing in even deeper than it already was.

"Thanks for the invitation to the party, Nessa." Leona thanked her fellow Wizard Saint for the invitation. It would be best to leave it at that before the blonde said anything dumb. She then heard Sol's greeting and waved to the dark-haired West Fiore Trading Company mage. Leona needed to find someone to talk with so that she looked somewhat normal instead of standing around like a lost puppy. However, that was easier said than done.

At the heart of the problem was that Leona was not a social butterfly. She was not much of a party-goer nor had she attended many social events. She did not think herself too good to do so... she was simply not used to going to them. The blonde had grown up in a society where one had to work hard every day just to break even; thus there was little time for parties or social gatherings. The needs of desert agriculture and fending off raiders were not exactly conducive to allowing for parties, which consumed resources like time, food, and water for no tangible return.

Leona felt out of place among so many accomplished mages, but she would bear the feeling for Nessa's sake. Today was Nessa's brithday. Leona was not going to ruin it for the Wizard Saint of Purity by standing around and indulging in self-loathing. Who could Leona socialize with?

Samira and that bunny girl were pretty close, so Leona decided to leave them alone. She did not know Amalie, the blonde Fairy Tail mage, or the new pink-haired mage very well either, so she left them alone for the time being. She was not really sure if Aven was in the mood to talk to her after the events of the Fairy Festival duel. Adalinda and Johann looked like they had something important to do, so Leona would let them make the first move if they were so inclined. Maybe Arcadia or Sol would be up for talking to Leona.

as Nessa greeted him and took the bottle from him he smiled kindly to her.”Its rare Sake from my province its fit for royalty so I thought it would be a perfect gift for a Wizard Saint” he said before he heard her say to help himself to the food and drinks as he turned to leave he bumped into another male who was joining the party. As he bumped into him Sol blinked at Aven before he bowed his head.” My apologies“he said simply before he walked away and grabbed a Cold Bottle of Apple ale from the ice and he glanced around and saw so many familiar faces at this party, Sorano the guildmaster of Fairy Tail was here along with former members of his company Johann and Amalie which surprised the Void Dweller a bit though it was not an unpleasant surprise.

The Reaper made a mental note to say hi to them later but he noticed that Leona was having some trouble interacting with people and he decided to go and keep her company since he didn’t want her to be alone or be a wallflower at this party. He gently approached and he smiled to her softly.”How have you been Leona its been a bit since our spar in my province” he said. He had to struggle a bit not to blush from remembering the hot springs incident that had happened on that visit as well. “oh yeah I managed to finish my training so we will need to spar again soon” he suggested his blood red eyes holding a excited look in them at the thought of crossing blades with her again. She was really a interesting foe to go against and he was happy to help her improve and also improve himself as well.

Nessa Cordelia Lux's Belated Birthday Bash! Empty Re: Nessa Cordelia Lux's Belated Birthday Bash!

Post by Amalie 3rd May 2019, 7:08 am

Amalie turned her gaze to the rose-haired woman accompanying her, she nodded as she explained she didn't mind attending the event with her. It was admittedly a relief to the Articulation mage. She hadn't ever had someone she could invite to anything before, but then again she'd never had anything to be invited to. If she went anywhere in the past, it was always as Wyatt's guest and nothing more. Things certainly had changed, for Amalie to have a fellow female companion that she could be comfortable around. It was surreal but also kind of pleasant. Women had always hated her for reasons she couldn't understand; jealousy, spite, or whatever unhealthy grudge they lingered to. Amalie never quite understood nor cared to ask why. But Sivvy was different, she was easy to be around and she didn't seem to respond the Amalie's cold, direct manner the way most women did.

"Me neither, I've always wondered what a beach looked like." She would glance around, it was prettier than she expected. She'd seen pictures in magazines and the like but the closest the woman had ever come to a vacation was her honeymoon. Which had involved a rented cottage in the mountains with a fireplace and hot-tub. It had been nice, scenic, but not much of an experience. It had also been the first time Wyatt had ever shown her his true nature. As she scanned the beach, she laid eyes on a twenty-two-year-old girl, with long white haired that trailed down her back and violet eyes. "Oh there she is..." Her cousin was, as pretty and perky as Amalie remembered. Like a mini Antoinette, she had certainly grown since Amalie last saw her. The last memory she had of the girl was a bubbly little six years old, following her around their grandmothers garden, holding the back of her dress in an attempt to keep up.

It was then that Amalie's gaze fell on someone making their way towards them, it took her a moment to realise who it was. Because quite frankly, she almost didn't recognise him in those clothes. Amalie arched a brow, the grin that split across her face was too immediate to prevent, she brought her hand to her face covering her devilish grin. Johann was walking towards them, greeting them most amicably, dressed in khaki shorts and an open Hawaiian shirt. The woman couldn't help herself, the sight of him dressed like that wholly amusing and well, kind of adorable. The always so serious man dressed like a retiree, Amalie took a moment to contain her amusement. Clearing her throat, "Good to see you too Johann, nice shirt." She said with a wink. Before glancing around to seek the answer to his question, "I think the drinks ar-"

    "Amalie."

The name was spoken so suddenly and sharply, that it took her by surprise. Cutting her off as she spoke, the smile immediately faded, she glanced around to see who it was. Although she knew instantly who it was. Her eyes fell on a woman in her sixties, with white-haired pinned tightly in a bun, wearing a summery dress. Amalie stiffened slightly at the sight of her.

"Aurelia." She replied in a short tone, the woman tilted her head back slightly to sneer at the younger woman. The was no warmth between the woman, in fact, the air felt very tense all of sudden.

"That's no way to address your Grandmother, still the insolent brat as always." She would turn her gaze to Sivvy and Johann for a moment, the woman's eyes were ice blue, much like Amalie's, except her gaze was considerably cooler. "Are these your guests?"

"Yes, well actually Sivvy here is. Johann is um... Nessa's guest?" She turned her gaze to the man questioningly, wondering how it was that he actually knew her cousin. It was a small world it seemed. "This is my Grandmother, Aurelia Blossom." She told them, Amalie returned her gaze to Aurelia, who was no longer paying any attention to Johann and Sivvy.

"What happened to that's lowlife husband of yours?" Amalie's fingers curled into tight fists, she gritted her teeth, feeling her temper beginning to rise.

"He couldn't make it." She hissed, Aurelia wouldn't miss this, her eyes narrowingly dangerously.

"Don't take that tone with me, Amalie. Tch, you really are Lana's daughter, I had hoped you wouldn't turn out the be the disappointment that she was. Alas, here we are." Amalie bit the inside of her cheek, the normally calm, collected woman could feel herself creeping towards the edge of her tether. She may have been a little calmer had this been a private conversation, but she was doing this all in front of the two people she considered herself closest to. Her face split into a smirk and she chuckled softly.

"Well, better the daughter of a whore than the mother of one right?"

    CRACK!

The slap had been too fast for Amalie to avoid, Aurelia's hand hit her cheek hard, causing her face to whip to the right. Amalie took a second to digest what had happened, quelling the instantaneous rage that had threatened to rise within her. She took a breath before raising her hand up in front of Sivvy. A message for her not to react, as much as she loathed her Grandmother, she didn't want Sivvy to drown her in the sea.

"You dare speak to me that way, you abhorrent child, after everything I did for you." Amalie dragged her gaze back to the woman, her expression blank. She really wanted to tear her down, expose her for the rubbish she was spouting. She opened her mouth to speak, only to be interrupted by another voice joining the fray. Interrupting Amalie before she could say anything.

"Gran, What are you doing? What's going on?"

Nessa Cordelia Lux's Belated Birthday Bash! Empty Re: Nessa Cordelia Lux's Belated Birthday Bash!

Post by Nessa Cordelia Lux 3rd May 2019, 7:09 am

As Leona thanked her for the invite, Nessa nodded happily, she couldn't see any reason not to even the Silver Wolf Guild Master. Having met her a few times, and even fought alongside her. Nessa considered her a friend."No worries, I'm glad you came, be sure to enjoy yourself okay?" She told her with a wink, before turning her gaze to Sol. She smiled as Sol explained that the drink was a Sake from his province, remembering the beautiful place that was Myazhe. It had been quite nice to travel to somewhere so different, even if had been quite the journey to get there. "I look forward to trying it." She said to him warmly. Before excusing herself to go add the Sake to her gift table. She was just adjusting the presents to make room in case people needed to add more throughout the evening.

"Yeah, you did good kid." Sebastian remarked. It was then that Nessa felt a familiar presence approach and looked up to see an argent haired fellow walking over to her, she beamed at the sight of him. "Johann!" She chirped happily, moving over to the man to give him a friendly hug before pulling away, "It really has!" She replied to his comment about how long it had been. The last time she had been around the man had been on the job fighting the clockwork monsters. "Thank you, oh, I'm so glad you came." She told him, she was pleased to see the man. "I hear you're not with the company anymore, you'll have to catch me up on that later okay?" She told him, it had been quite the news to know he wasn't in the West Fiore Trading Company anymore, a shame for her as it meant they were less likely to work together in the future. But at least they were still friendly enough for him to attend her birthday party. Her violet eyes fell on the bottle he offered, hearing his comment. Her face would flush pink as she remembered the embarrassing event. She had gotten quite intoxicated attempting to keep up with the God of Ishgar's drinking capabilities. She didn't remember much, but apparently, she'd been very drunk and very loud. She just remembered waking up on the beach the next day, hugging the same empty bottle of the drink he was now presenting to her.

"Thank you, I'll be sure to...enjoy it." She commented, unable to hide the awkwardness in her tone. She mentally vowed to herself to try and not get too drunk tonight, even if it was her birthday. She really didn't want to embarrass herself...again. She waved him off, placing the bottle down on the table. "Er... Ness, you might wanna turn around." She blinked in confusion before turning to face Aven. She froze in surprise, staring as he wished her happy birthday. Sebastian grinned at his comment,

"Couldn't be helped fella." He quipped, before glancing at Nessa who was still staring at Aven in shock. "Um, I'm gonna give you two some space, excuse me whilst I just go find myself a spicy kitty to play with." He said, before hopping off of her shoulder he began strolling along the beach in search for Tammy. Nessa took a breath, "Aven." She suddenly ran forward and threw her arms around the white-haired fellow, hugging him tightly. She hadn't seen him since the job on the island. He had vanished without a trace, and she hadn't been able to get in touch with him since. She held him for a moment before stepping back. Suddenly, she went to shove him, perhaps using a little more force than she intended to.

"YOU JERK, WHERE DID YOU GO? I WAS SO WORRIED ABOUT YOU!" She snapped, the relief of being reunited with her friend transforming in anger about the fact he hadn't been in touch. "It doesn't take much Aven; a letter, a message, a fricking dove with a strip of paper attached to its leg, seriously!" She scolded, placing her hands on her hips as she glared at him. Although the glare only lasted for a moment. "I'm glad you're safe though, just... give a girl a heads up next time okay?" Her voice grew slightly calmer, smiling at him. She was about to ask him how he was, but something caught her eye. She followed the direction in which Johann had walked in to look upon the group he was standing with. Her grandmother was there talking to two other women, and she didn't look happy. "Sorry, Aven, one sec." She said moving around him, she hurried along the beach towards the group. She had closed about half the distance between herself and the group before she witnessed the slap. She ran faster, arriving moments after Aurelia had barked at the woman.

"Gran, What are you doing? What's going on?" She said looking between her and the other woman. "Why are you hitting..." She eyed the blue-haired woman for a moment, there was a strange sense of familiarity about her. She was a good few years older than Nessa and taller too. She had long blue haired, as her eyes settled on it. She realised who it was, her eyes lit up and she threw herself at the girl.

"AMALIE!" She hugged the woman so suddenly and forcefully she nearly bowled her over. She squeezed her tightly before letting her go, "Oh my goodness, Amalie it's been so long. How are you? You're so different and so tall, I'm jealou-" It dawned on Nessa that she had just burst into a situation that was quite tense, she turned to look at her Gran. "Gran, why did you hit Ama?" She asked with a scowl. The older women gaze softened as she looked at her younger grandchild.

"Your cousin was being rude Nessa, I was putting her in her place." Nessa turned from Amalie to face her Grandmother.

"By striking her? Amalie came all this way to celebrate my birthday and you think it's acceptable to hit her because she was rude to you? I'm sorry Gran, I don't mean to be rude myself, but I don't understand your logic here, and I would appreciate it if you didn't hit my guests. If you can't contain your temper than you can excuse yourself from the party until you've calmed down." The woman stared at Nessa with surprise, her granddaughter who was always so polite and gentle, telling her off was something the woman wasn't used to.

"I understand, I'll remove myself from the situation, Sorry Nessa." the woman went to turn but Nessa cleared her throat sharply.

"Before you do, I think you owe Amalie an apology first, for taking it upon yourself to slap her." She spoke in a firm tone, the woman stopped, glancing at Nessa in bafflement, clearly wanting to protest. She sighed, turning her gaze back to Amalie.

"My apologies, Amalie, I shouldn't have struck you." She said curtly before turning sharply and striding off as though wanted to get away from the group as quickly as possible. Nessa eyed the woman for a moment, before turning to her blue-haired cousin. She reached up and touched the woman's cheek, allowing her healing light to flow through her fingers. The redness from the slap fading from the woman's cheek. Nessa lowered her hands,

"Sorry you had a rough start the party, Ama. You know how Gran can be sometimes." She turned her gaze to Johann. "Joh, I didn't know you were friends with my cousin." She said with a grin before turning her gaze to the pink-haired girl. She stepped away from Amalie over to the girl. "You must be Ama's plus one, I'm Nessa, it's a pleasure to meet you!"

    Adalinda

    The Iron Dragon Slayer

There were many people who came to this party whom the dragon slayer wasn't too familiar with, and she takes a deep breath. The few fairy tail members that were here she slightly recognized though and hadn't talked to last she saw them. It would be wise for the slayer to try to be sociable and talk with some of the Fairy Tail members, especially since they were all in an alliance together. Maybe she should see about meeting some Silver Wolf members too, especially since she noticed Leona was here at the party. As her fellow Vice President, Sol, had greeted her, she began to blush a bit from him being there and seeing her dressed as so. Besides her usually tank top and pants attire, or her suit attire at work, she was never seen revealing as much skin as she was. She then paused while looking at her fellow Vice President, crossing her arms over her chest to cover it a bit. "You look… different, Sol." She had commented. While he looked different, the features seemed familiar, and she wasn't sure where she had seen them before. White skin and red eyes… 'That one Fairy Tail mage, Demi. Before we parted ways on Tolgalen.' Veles tells the black haired girl before minding his own business. This was her little vacation deal after dealing with all those horrendous plants. She had hated it all. Maybe she should get some alcohol herself… She had seen Tammy go off and do her own thing, and run a hand through her hair. "What happened since the last I saw you, Sol?" Thinking back, Ada believed she last saw him at the alliance beach party. Or was it another time after? Either way, she hadn't seen him like this at least last time she saw her fellow guild mate.

She looks around the stadium, and sees Amalie and Johann. It had been quite some time since she had seen Johann. And she actually almost didn't recognize her old Vice President and guild mate in his casual wear. She was used to him being dressed up in his West Fiore Trading Company uniform. But he left them also, so she shouldn't let herself be used to him wearing the old uniform now. He'd probably would normally be wearing something else by now. After making a slightly quick decision on what she should do, Ada quickly makes her way over to Johann and Amalie, but an older woman had reached over to them first it seemed. She could wait to say hi to them. Not like it was dire for her to. She looks over to see the rest of the stadium and party goers, and spies a bunny girl. Raising an eyebrow to her, her curiosity was peaked about these couple of people she's never met before. Changing her direction to go over to this bunny girl, Ada's blue eyes look to her and the girl with her. "Hi! I'm Adalinda." She muses to the dark green haired woman and the purplish haired bunny woman as well as she holds out her hand. "I don't think I've met you two before. I'm with the West Fiore Trading Company." 'Oh look! You know how to be polite and not rough and tough.' Veles snickered to her. Ada just ignored the dragon in her head.

Tammy had spotted Sebastian as he seemed to be looking for someone, and grinned to him while staying in her Neko form. She was chilling on the sand by the water, debating if she herself wanted to go jumping in or not. "Hey there! It's been a while since I saw you!" The exceed giggles to him. She looks to herself for a moment, then over to Sebastian. She smiles as she shifts herself into her exceed self once again. She honestly liked how cute she looked as a Neko, but with other exceeds seeming to be here, it seemed like it'd be okay to just be herself. Her bathing suit seemed to have morphed with the transformation. Scratching the back of her head, Tammy blushed a bit. "I'm sorry, I don't really remember much from the last time we met… I drank too much." She confessed to the other exceed. But it was more she doesn't drink often and was a lightweight when it came to drinking.

Nessa Cordelia Lux's Belated Birthday Bash! Empty Re: Nessa Cordelia Lux's Belated Birthday Bash!

Post by Mura Kensho 3rd May 2019, 10:30 am

After the new Fairy Tail Wizard lovely embraced Nessa, Mura realized it. Oh damn. Many more people arrived to her birthday, and uh… Mura felt like he was drowning in. How was he supposed to bring the gift now? With so many people around him, Mura felt more like greeting Johann who had arrived along with many other familiar faces such as fellow Wizard Saints as well as other remarkable wizards and even new faces that Mura hadn’t seen before.

But seeing Arcadia’s makeshift waterslide made him a little playful. Swiftly, he found himself leaping down on the position behind the sliding Dragon Slayer, holding his arms around her as he warned: “Hey, Arcadia! Do you like waterslides that much…?!” As a little way of avenging his time as a janitor, Mura seized control over the flowing waters that made up the waterslide, causing it to literally send them all around in a wooba-loopa-loopland of a waterslide that met all three dimensions and took the two Fairy Tail Wizards on a water coaster of a lifetime. The very slide had written out the word ‘Cordelia’ just in case if Nessa was to see the spectacle that he was putting poor Arcadia through. But since the waterslide was made of water, it didn’t exactly count as a vehicle, so she would likely be alright. “Wooo!”

While the one Mura was doing that, he spotted Aven’s return. The circle wizard had finally made a presence again, and Mura had barely knowledge enough about his circumstances to be able to ask what his whereabouts was. Good to see him back here. He would have to greet him and Johann… after finishing the waterslide. It was first priority.

And then, he would grant his ultimate gift to Nessa. Fool-proof plan. Although, the sound of skin clapping skin at sonic speed did reach his ears, and in the middle of the clusterfuck of a waterslide that he made, he spotted Nessa alongside someone that he didn’t know. A… wait, was her hair blue or was it just the water?

Kyuken had released himself from Zirconis’ grasp and hid behind Johann. “D-Don’t you dare bite me again, you wretched dragon! This guy survived death, and he’ll be the impenetrable shield I never-“
“As long as you try your absolute darn best to not harass anyone here, which we all know is borderline impossible! Now get back here!”

Nessa Cordelia Lux's Belated Birthday Bash! Empty Re: Nessa Cordelia Lux's Belated Birthday Bash!

Post by Ray Jyx 4th May 2019, 2:10 am

Sivvy walked along with Amalie, taking in the sheer amount of people at this party. Was this the average level of attendance? Or was this Nessa person just so amicable that this many would go out of their way to celebrate the anniversary of her birth. The whole idea was still foreign to her, since she'd never even celebrated her own birthday before, let alone have others get this excited for it. Despite the unfamiliarity, Sivvy couldn't deny that she wanted to run out into the water, or perhaps bask in the warm sand like a salamander. Her thoughts were jarred as a familiar greeted them both and she turned to bask in the unfamiliarity that was her mentor, Johann, right now. Carmine hues blinked a few times, taking in the man she'd never seen without one of his uniforms or the rare work-out outfit, let alone what he was sporting now. She looked him up and down, then tilted her head slightly to the left. "You should have let me pick out your shirt, sir," Sivvy commented flatly, eyeing the garment with something edging close to distaste, though it was hard to tell with her normally stoic expression still in place. However, while it might seem she thought the pattern too garish, in fact it was the opposite. If he'd let her pick it out, it most definitely would have been brighter and somehow covered with more flowers, possibly even textured ones since that was her 'style'. If he was going to go for it, he should have gone all the way. This coming from someone wearing a rather reserved navy once piece...if only because she hadn't been sure of herself in the swimsuit before. Maybe she'd add some flowers to it as the party went on. If Johann and Amalie were looking for drinks, she imagined they'd be here for quite a while.

The levity of the whole event was rapidly extinguished as an aging person approached. People could say what they wished to her and about her, but speaking in such negative tones so obviously hateful that even someone like Sivvy could pick them up didn't sit well with the metal slayer. It became clear that this surly raisin was Amalie's grandmother, which shattered her image of what a person with such a title should be like. This lady was nothing like the squishy grannies from the books she read, trying to feed everyone and doting on them. There must be some mistake in her understanding.

"I believe your tone is a bit rude for a party, Mrs. Blossom," Sivvy commented to the elderly woman, expression edging slowly into the cooler side of emotionless even as her words were ignored. The small smile she normally sported to seem friendly was now quite the opposite. The small frown was just barely there, but paired with frigid sanguine eyes, the new expression was quite startling. How dare she speak to her friend in such a way. Sivvy had always thought about what it'd be like to have a normal family with a mother, father, grandparents, and such. It'd been a nice day dream she never spoke of and periodically wondered about. How would her life had changed if she had such people in her life? She'd assumed for the better, but this old lady was quickly changing he perception of it all. If this is what family was, she'd much rather remain a test-tube baby with no relatives. Much less complicated and infuriating, especially when you couldn't apparently kill relatives like you could random offenders. It was a very good move to Amalie to hold her hand up in front of the clone, because one second later and she'd have been giving grandma a sea burial. Even though she didn't act per Amalie's unspoken request, that didn't mean her body language was any less threatening.

Somehow potentially more frightening was 7's ability to seemingly flip a switch and turn off her dangerous, arctic expression and immediately return to the non-threatening little smile she normally had. As soon as the grandmother was removed from the situation by the birthday girl herself and the clone found herself being greeted, Sivvy acted as if the whole thing had never happened. "It's nice to meet you, Nessa. Happy birthday," the young woman said, reaching out to offer a handshake to the snowy headed girl. "I'm designated 7, but my friends call me Sivvy. You may as well, if you want," she introduced herself politely, though now seeing the perky girl, she actually felt anxious that her gift would be a flop.

Post by Aven Alveron 6th May 2019, 2:55 pm

It seemed Aven's appearance was a roller coaster of emotions for Nessa, one that started with a loop-de-loop of her arms around him in a sudden embrace. His eyes widened in surprise, as she was much faster than before, but his smile was the real deal as he hugged her in return. He'd expected some kind of trouble when they met, it was a pleasant surprise that she was taking it so gracefully in stride-

Abruptly, she stepped back, and shoved him with a surprising amount of strength. Ah, there it is. As luck would have it, ever since he'd embraced his family heritage, his body was many times heavier than normal, and the force of the push only staggered him lightly backward, a weight that Nessa would undoubtedly notice in her shove. Then, came the lecture: yes, it probably would have been courteous to let his guild know he was fine, and keep in touch with his friends, but he'd been nervous at their reaction. He would have visited in person, but Aviel was insistent that he enter an intense training regimen, in order to at least partially master the control of Dark Matter. It'd been no easy task, almost like learning to use a new limb, a part of him he didn't have before. Between that, and the shakeup in the family when Drani learned that Zane was still alive, Aven's time had been a commodity he couldn't spare, even for his dearest friends. After all, it was account of them he was working to improve so fervently, to close the widening gap in their power, so that he could stand beside them as an equal.

Aven shook his head at Nessa's suggestions. "I'm afraid I haven't had much luck with letters, lately. I would have visited, but Aviel only had a few short months to train me, and every moment counted." Aven smiled back, that familiar, warm twinge that he always felt when she smiled accompanied closely by the cold grasp of sadness. "I'm sorry, Nessa, I'll be sure to let you know, next time."

With that, Nessa was pulled away, into what seemed to be family matters. He only overheard a small portion, but what he hard dropped his jaw. Nessa and Amalie are RELATED? This wasn't just news, it was a complete shock. How could one family be so segmented, to produce an ice queen like Amalie, and in the same token, a Sugar-plum Fairy like Nessa? He supposed, he shouldn't be judging Amalie from the short encounter they'd had, especially when he'd been abruptly called away from the mission, and left her to complete it alone. By all means, the woman had a right to be cross with him, even if their initial meeting had been less than cordial.

Aven regained his composure, and motioned to Nessa that he was heading over to the present table. Decisions were being made, while he strolled; or, rather, one big decision. He fiddled with the charm that Nessa had gotten for him, signifying their Team, Radiant Light, as he patted his pocket. There was a small sheet of paper there, and he was back and forth on whether it would be left with the gift he'd prepared. A short pause, as he reached the table, stacked high with gifts. A small gesture of his hand, and black particles gathered from the area around him, coalescing under his palm, and forming a pitch black box, intricate designs all along the sides, with Radiant Light's team symbol engraved prominently on the form-fitted lid. It stood on small, chair-like legs, with two hinges to keep the lid attached, as a proper music box should. It was much heavier than it looked, as Aven placed it among a clump of other presents, but he'd found that the sound was more than worth the weight. As for the lyrics... well, he'd already made up his mind about that before: those would stay safely in his pocket, just as the feelings they conveyed would stay locked in his chest.

Nessa Cordelia Lux's Belated Birthday Bash! Empty Re: Nessa Cordelia Lux's Belated Birthday Bash!

"Thanks", Johann responded to Amalie's comment quickly, sporting a small smirk. The man's sense of fashion and his idea of casual wear was usually limited to suits, so he was at least somewhat happy that his attire was appropriate for the occasion. Apart form swimwear, the man, naturally, had no idea what one would wear to a beach party, his clothing choices reflecting this fact. Of course, the man failed to pick up on the underlying, implied sarcasm. Though, direct as always, Sivvy made no secret of her opinion regarding the comfortable Hawaiian shirt. "Oh ..." the man would react a little glumly, "... so you don't like it?". His fellow Ambassador, as well as the Articulation Mage, wouldn't react, the attention shifting to someone who had joined the group of three with a distinct lack of polite introduction. Johann's head quickly turned towards the somewhat older woman, eyeing her with a raised eyebrow. Did Amalie and this woman know each other? His question would be answered soon after, the white-haired woman making it clear that, or so at least it seemed, she was Amalie's Grandmother. Johann didn't quite understand. What would Amalie's grandmother do at Nessa's birthday party? Was she a mage, or did the young Fairy Tail Ace and this woman know each other through some other way unknown to the God of Ishgar? The older woman was quick to inquire about his own and Sivvy's presence in a quite nosy fashion, however, Johann remaining cautious, replying only with a nod and a short, somewhat emotionless "Indeed". The atmosphere had suddenly changed and the tension only getting more palpable by the second. He took it the two were not on good terms with each other, his suspicion confirmed when her Grandmother addressed a point that, as Johann had learned, was quite the sore spot for the blue-haired mage of Dies Irae. Of course, that was a little bit of an understatement.

The next event, however, admittedly shocked the God of Ishgar somewhat, a little bit of breath escaping his lungs as he watched the verbal exchange and the physical retribution that followed. Amalie did well to hold Sivvy back, Johann, for a second, sharing thoughts similar to that of the young slayer, taking a deep breath. These were family affairs and none of his business, and he couldn't exactly attack Amalie's grandmother, but the attack had certainly been out of place in any case, had it not? The silver-haired male was about to open his mouth, say something, but he didn't get the chance, the birthday girl herself finding her way over, her expression less than amused. Understandable, really. It was now, through the exchange between Nessa and the older woman, he learned that the two, Nessa and Amalie, were apparently not only related in some way, but they were also cousins. He raised his eyebrow again, giving up on trying to understand this family dynamic. At least, he thought, it explained what Granny was doing here. Johann couldn't but stare at her with a contemptuous glare as she left, glad that the Fairy Tail mage had been able to, without much more drama, convince her to leave. The man's small smirk would return to his face, albeit with a more awkward side to it when addressed by Nessa. "Yeah, we kind of work together. It's hard to not be friends with her, in honesty". He gave Amalie a friendly smile. "I had no idea you two were cousins", he commented before turning to the Articulation Mage again. "Everything alright?", his voice carried a bit of concern. A mage of Amalie's caliber could certainly take a hit like this one, it would be nothing, but the man realized it was more a symbolic act than anything. "You certainly have a very ... interesting family".

After receiving Nessa's assurance that the Wizard Saint of Courage was welcome at the part, Leona had heard Sol's familiar voice and turned to greet him when she overheard something interesting about the blue-haired mage named Amalie. Someone at the party had mentioned that Amalie was Nessa's cousin. Leona had never known that Nessa even had a cousin, let alone a family as big as the one that was here. After learning that bit of information events moved beyond the speed of Leona's comprehension... not that that was too hard to accomplish.

From what she had overheard and understood, Nessa's grandmother Aurelia had slapped Amalie for a comment that the latter had made that Aurelia did not like. Nessa had gotten upset and had all but told her grandmother to take a walk and not come back for awhile. Surprisingly Aurelia went along with the suggestion without putting up a fight. Leona decided to let the Lux family be the ones to sort out their issues because there was a whole lot about the situation that she had no understanding of. Leona may have been a Wizard Saint, but there were quite a few problems that the blonde was not qualified to solve.

Family issues was one of them. Leona had a few family problems of her own, namely trying to find her father Samuel Jarnefeldt, who was a traveling trader who roamed far and wide all across Earthland. Leona had no idea where he was and did not even know where to begin looking for him. Once she got some free time she might need to begin a search for the family member who had been missing for over four years.

Leona also had problems with her mother Sophia, who was keenly interested in getting grandchildren from either Leonidas or Leona. Sophia meant well and was not actively malicious, but she thought that her daughter's "traveling mage/problem solver" career was just a phase and that Leona's real place was at home tending to children and a husband. Leona had more important responsibilities than that now, namely her duties as a Wizard Saint and as the Guild Mistress of Silver Wolf. She was responsible for protecting the entirety of Earthland and took that responsibility seriously. She was also responsible for ensuring the well-being of her guild and her guild members.

Sophia's request for grandchildren would just have to wait. It was not fair to Leonidas because he had recently been promoted to the main blacksmith of Nebdoui and he had his own responsibilities, including selecting and training apprentices in case he was ever hurt or killed in a bandit attack. Leona felt that Leonidas resented her for leaving him to bear the burden of continuing the family line, but he had never said anything to that effect. Maybe her older brother was just being nice to her by not saying anything. Or maybe he had not yet found a way to articulate his unhappiness to his younger sister, who was a village celebrity and the Wizard Saint of Courage.

Leona decided to put those issues on the back burner because she was at a party and did not want to ruin the mood. Besides, she needed to not leave Sol hanging and finally speak to him. Leona walked up to the dark-haired West Fiore Trading Company mage and addressed.

"Hey Sol, I've been OK since the last time we met. Guild paperwork, taking jobs for the guild, business as usual." Leona tried her best to make small talk with the mage. The blonde was floundering already and it had not even been a full minute since she started the conversation. She needed to find something that she could genuinely talk about.
