-Silver Wolf Guild Hall, Leona's Room-

Wearing her green, gold, and white outfit with Argent Gloves, backpack of supplies on her back, and newly purchased black bike shorts underneath her skirt, Leona put on the sword belt for her Silver Longsword and put Ses Revanche in her right boot. She was just about ready to venture into the Phoenix Mountains to locate and put a stop to a Dark guild that was rumored to be setting up shop somewhere in the mountains. They were counting on the cold and remote location to protect them, but little did they know that the Phoenix Mountains were Leona's back yard. The Phoenix Mountains belonged to Silver Wolf and she would not tolerate the incursion of a Dark guild into sovereign Silver Wolf territory. However, Leona would not be traveling alone on this job.

She had also recruited fellow Silver Wolf guild members Ozwald Morgan and Tsubasa Kageyama to assist her in this endeavor. Her left shoulder was almost completely healed, but it was still good to bring a couple of teammates along for the job in case it decided to bother her again. Besides, it had been a long time since she had worked with any guildmates and she wanted to become a better leader by helping them with jobs that they might need a helping hand with.

Having gotten everything she needed for the trip, Leona left her room and proceeded to the guild hall foyer to wait for Ozwald and Tsubasa to join her.

    -In the guild foyer-

Leona waited patiently in the middle of the foyer for Ozwald and Tsubasa. So far her left shoulder was holding up, which meant that she could aid them if there was fighting to be done. Since a Dark guild was involved, chances were high that the Wizard Saint would have to fight, but that was fine by her. Silver Wolf territory had to be defended and it was only appropriate that its Guild Mistress go in person to defend it.

Post by Ozwald Morgan 14th July 2020, 1:14 am

It had been a couple of days since the first meteor hit, and there have been reports of meteorite sightings all around Fiore. It was more of a rumor by a witness to these enigmatic meteorites, and a few would daresay the tale of the apocalypse is all but rubbish. It is extremely exaggerated, however, and it was baseless. Ozwald knew what these meteorites were, and all of them contained pieces of artifacts sent to this time period from the past by the Brass Seraphs. One of the artifacts, Huygen's Chamber, is in his possession.

The artifact was capable of enhancing the capabilities of certain spells of his, as well as giving him freedom to use these certain spells without the need to open his grimoire. These gems were then integrated to his weapon, a pair of knuckles attached to the gauntlets the gems are placed into. This allowed him to be extremely mobile whenever he would engage his opponents as he was not used to using spells to attack, not that he can't. All his life, he relied on what supplies he had, his skills as an adventurer, and his ingenuity to overcome his obstacles. Now that magic is part of his life, he will have to get used to using magic everyday.

According to the astrologians of the collective, one of the meteorites have crash landed on to the Phoenix Mountains, the place where the guild, Silver Wolf, can be found. The exact location of the crash site is unknown but, given the frigid weather in the Phoenix Mountains, it would be hard for him to find the meteorite on his own, thus he wanted to seek help from his fellow guildmates in order to retrieve it before it falls to the wrong hands.

Coincidentally, Ozwald had been summoned by the guild master, Leona, to undertake a mission. Ever since joining the guild, his trek to and fro along the Phoenix Mountains have started to become part of a routine for him. He has climbed up and down the snowy slopes of the Phoenix almost daily, and this has allowed him to improve his endurance in cold climates, which he is now accustomed to. Why he would not get a room for himself in the guild establishment is an enigma among his fellow guild mates.

He arrives in the foyer, sporting a fashionable leather winter coat with a fur collar to help keep him warm, and underneath this garb is his usual attire - white long sleeved shirt underneath a brown vest and an emerald green ascot wrapped around his neck. His black pants looked worn but seemed to be in perfect condition, and he had his goggles worn when he entered.  He also wore his new pair of weapons to his disposal, and he just can't wait to use it. Stashed to his side is his book, the Chronicler's Grimoire.

Surveying the guild's foyer, he found the guild master. "Greetings, guild master! I assume we're waiting for one more?" He approached her and engaged himself in a conversation. He was unsure how to address Leona properly given her position in the guild and all. He hypothesized that there would be more joining in on this mission. Looking at the blonde haired woman, he assumed that she's anticipating for another guild member. He had not met them personally, but he did see some of them lurking about when he comes to visit the guild. This would be a perfect opportunity for him to know first hand how a guild handles a mission.

Despite how easy it looked, or how silly the end result product may have seemed, Tsubasa always put a lot of work into editing his videos before uploading them. This was how he retained such a high follower count despite not uploading every day. He had always done his best with the material that he had in order to create the best possible videos he could. It was a way for him to express himself and, from his perspective, show people a world they hadn’t had the opportunity to see. Part of it was that he himself hadn’t had the opportunity to see much of the world until he decided to train as a mage.

Luckily his parents had always been supportive of his exploits, from learning and forming Hodgepodge to deciding to make crazy LacTube videos about this and that. When the videos became more dangerous the viewer counts went up, of course, but he’d never made it his goal to obtain viewers. The sponsorships brought in some small amounts of jewels but they were just for fun. So he was waist deep in editing, fingers on a control panel in one hand while he chugged an energy drink with the other, when a small rodent landed on his head, “So it’s probably a bad idea for you to miss a job with the Guild Leader?

What time is it?” Tsubasa responded, not standing yet, “I gotta like… get ready and stuff.” He fiddled with something and made a few notes. His movement was fluid and quick, working with things like this was where he was most comfortable. Putting things to the test, actively using his hands for something, whether it was baking, making or building, it was a thousand times easier for him to do rather than study.

You are supposed to be there… in three and a half minutes.

Tsu stopped and shifted his eyes upward at the little creature that peered down at him, “That is entirely not enough time and I’m firing you as an alarm clock.

I haven’t been paid in like… ever,” Ahab said, falling off of Tsu and flipping onto the chair as the young man stood up to get ready. “Buuuuuut I think I deserve some kind of severance pay.

So, in exactly two and a half minutes, clearly fresh from a shower, Tsubasa arrived at the foyer to meet the others. Wearing his recently repaired hoodie, it entirely hid the magic-technologic mixture that lay within. Ever present was the little green flying squirrel in his hood. “Hey,” He said, both clearly looking like a boy who was flummoxed and relaxed at the same time. He stood up straight in the presence of the guild leader, and gave a respectful nod to the guild mate he’d yet to officially meet. “Sorry if I’m late. I was… working on a project but that's an explanation not an excuse. I’m ready to do what we need to do.” Ever respectful of elders, Tsubasa was relaxed but not overly informal.

Post by Leona Jarnefeldt 2nd August 2020, 10:26 am

Leona felt a magic signatures appear behind her and turned to find Ozwald coming to join her. She was glad to see him. While she had fought the forces of evil by herself many times before, she wanted to join forces with other people for a change, particularly members of Silver Wolf. Today was a good chance to try that approach with Ozwald Morgan and Tsubasa Kageyama at her side. This seemed to be a simple and straightforward job, but the Wizard Saint knew from experience how getting overconfident about "simple" things could lead to a lot of embarrassment by not taking it seriously until it was too late.

Leona would do her best not to make that mistake again.

"Hey Ozwald!" Leona greeted her guildmate. When he asked if they were waiting on one more member to join them, she did not have to take long to reply.

"We're waiting on Tsubasa Kayegama. Once he's here we'll go over the job details and we'll get going." Leona informed Ozwald. That briefing would not take very long because what little Leona knew about the job could be written on a napkin from the guild cafe. Other than a Dark guild was rumored to be attempting to set up shop in the Phoenix Mountains, she did not have very much to go on.

There was nothing about their numbers, an approximate location of their base, the direction they were last reported to be heading in, not even a description of their appearance. Even something basic like "watch out for shady-looking guys in dark robes!" would have helped. Oh well.

A few minutes after Ozwald showed up Tsubasa arrived.

"Hey Tsubasa!" Leona greeted the newly arrived guild member. Now that both Ozwald and Tsubasa were here it was time to go over the job details. That would not take very long and Leona knew it. She had to keep a straight face despite the embarrassment that the lack of information would inevitably bring because the Guild Mistress was supposed to be better informed than anyone except the Aces.

"OK, here's what I know about the job. Rumor is that there's a Dark guild attempting to set up shop somewhere in the Phoenix Mountains. We don't have a very good description of them... I suspect that's because the intruders are trying very hard to go unnoticed. We'll just have to use our magic-sensing abilities to try and find them, but there's quite a bit of magic on this mountain, so that's not a foolproof method." Leona briefed them with one-third fact and two-thirds conjecture. Realizing that what she had told them was not very much to work with, it was time to add more conjecture to the mix. It was also time to use her brain and think a little. After putting a bit of thought into it she put forth a hypothesis... and a course of action.

"I'm thinking that they've set up a base not too far from civilization because they need more supplies in a climate like this than they would somewhere more temperate like Capital Crocus or Minstrel. I suggest that we go asking around in villages in the Phoenix Mountains. Maybe someone there can tell us more and whether someone's made some big purchases at the village stores." Leona suggested to her teammates.

Not In My Back Yard Empty Re: Not In My Back Yard

Post by Ozwald Morgan 4th August 2020, 12:49 pm

Oswald waited for the last member to arrive and he was eager to meet one of the guild members that he had not had the pleasure of meeting yet. It didn’t take as long as he thought it would be when he saw a modern looking guild member who he assumed would be the last member of the team, and his assumptions were proven right when the guild master greeted him. He had not the time to meet him or any other guild member due to his duties not only to the guild, but to the scholars of Grimwold and Alexander, who he was entrusted to in collecting the 12 Brass Artifacts that was sent from the past, one of which was already in possession - namely Huygen’s Chamber.

As the last member arrived, he approached him to exchange pleasantries and to properly introduce himself. It would not do for the team to not know who their comrades are and it would obviously help identifying who is who. "Greetings! The name's Ozwald, adventurer extraordinaire and a recent addition to the ranks of Silver Wolf. Pleasure to meet your acquaintance!" He says in his usual fashion, being a gentlemanly adventurer and all, and he briefly bowed a little as a sign of respect to a senior member. Or rather, someone who has been in the guild longer than him. It was nary a couple of months when he first joined the guild after all, probably around a month or so.

He had finished introducing himself, and Leona briefed the team about their mission to search for the dark mages that had taken respite in the Phoenix Mountains for whatever reason. Their current whereabouts are unknown and it was explained that tracking them down would be difficult given that the Phoenix Mountains have high concentrations of ethernanos. The suggestion of asking around the nearby villages is sound as the inhabitants would have witnessed strange or unfamiliar men. He has no complaints or whatsoever. “Probably the best way to go about this. I’m not experienced in detecting the presence of other individuals with magic yet, so I have no qualms about it.”

Another matter has not eluded him but he did not want to divert to another topic. He wanted to tell Leona about a meteorite that has fallen, which contained one of the Brass Artifacts, and he would be asking their help to go and retrieve it. The only problem is, he has no idea where. He decided not to tell them of the meteorite yet and is now waiting for an opportune time to bring up that topic. He's thought of a possibility that it might have been taken by the dark mages who have taken residence in the Phoenix Mountains, similar to those from the previous meteorite crash, but he shrugged it off and stayed optimistic.

There's gonna come a day when you feel better.
You'll rise up free and easy on that day
And float from branch to branch,
    Lighter than the air.
Just when that day is coming, who can say? who can say?

The pleasure’s all mine, Mr. Ozwald,” Tsubasa said in return, giving a friendly nod. “Call me Tsubasa or Tsu, I get equal parts both. This chubby little lump of fur is Ahab. He is currently on strike… or fired. I can’t recall which.

Ahab, the little green ball of fur in Tsubasa’s hood raised up two tiny squirrel fingers as a peace sign, “I have decided I am currently on strike.” He offered, “But it’s nice to meet you.” This wasn’t out of character for him, he tended to spend all of his time fluffed up in Tsu’s hood when he wasn’t actively needed to do things. Or bothering Tsubasa.

Once introductions were out of the way, it came time to listen in on the mission parameters themselves. Crossing his arms as though in thought while the Guild Leader spoke, Tsubasa contemplated anything he could do to help the process go a little faster. If it was a considerable sized guild they would indeed need to make larger purchases around here. Even if they were magically enhanced, their supplies needed to come from somewhere.

A dark guild. Recently the guild called Weather Control had been revealed to have unknowingly been behind almost literally everything that Tsubasa had been doing in the past few months. He had no idea  The idea that they were a dark guild meant that the chances that they were doing something that was twisting the environment was larger than any other guild, but it wouldn’t exactly mean that they were turning everything black and demonic. Miss Leona was right though that looking for magic on a magic mountain could be like scanning for a yeti in a snowstorm if they weren’t careful.

While we do that, we could have Ahab flying around for anything suspicious. I would do it myself but I think I’d be shot out of the sky if these guys have any serious firepower. He’s small enough to be missed if they’re not specifically looking for him.” He reached behind him and prodded the little squirrel twice with a single finger.

Ahab, in response, crawled along Tsu’s arm and down to his hand, “Yes, I will once again become the savior of a mission. I can be thanked in your finest bagels and chocolate chips. Separate, not mixed.

Post by Leona Jarnefeldt 18th August 2020, 10:32 pm

Leona watched Tsubasa stride in and introduce himself and his flying squirrel companion named Ahab. The Wizard Saint knew Tsubasa by name, but she had never met Ahab until today. She also did not know that Ahab could speak in human language and be understood by humans.

She learned something new every day.

Leona listened to Tsubasa offer to use Ahab as an eye in the sky to help their search go faster, something that the blonde had not considered doing herself. His offer got her to thinking about using her own summons to aid in the search. Leona's mind turned to her Pharaoh Owl Summon, but she recalled that its coloration was consistent with that of sand and would make Ramses stick out like a sore thumb in the mountains that were covered with white snow, green tree canopies, and gray rocks.

Her mind then turned to her Harpy Sisters. They had the speed to evade trouble and the power to fight if there was no other choice, but not the ability to blend in with the surroundings because golden armor that glinted in the sun and varying hair and wing colors did not make for stealthy surveillance. The entire point of Tsubasa's idea was for Ahab to fly around undetected and observe the area undetected, a duty that Leona's summons were not suited for.

"OK, Tsubasa, I'll leave the aerial reconnaissance to you and Ahab." Leona gave her approval to Tsubasa's proposal. With that matter decided, Leona then turned towards the issue of how they wanted to approach the search on foot. Her idea was to stick together to avoid any one mage getting lost on the mountains or getting surprised and taken out by the dark mages, but she was willing to hear Ozwald and Tsubasa out in case they had an alternate idea that was reasonable and backed by good logic.

"Since we don't know exactly how many dark mages there are or what magic they can use, I'm saying that we travel together to avoid getting lost and to reduce the chances of the dark mages isolating us and picking us off one by one. It'll be slower that way, but at the moment I'm more concerned about safety. We don't need to get overconfident just because we're on our home turf." Leona said to them. If the Silver Wolf mages got overconfident and split up just because they had a home field advantage they could be in for a world of hurt. The search would go slower by sticking together, but in exchange the Silver Wolf mages would be able to present a united front against their foes instead of being isolated and picked off one by one because they chose to go it separately. Leona had learned the hard way that trying to take on a group of dark mages with unknown capabilities alone could end in disaster.

She was going to do her best to not make that mistake again.

“Sounds good. That solves the problem on how we would know how many there are.” He says after Leona. While he can always deploy his pet machines to do something for him, that doesn’t necessarily mean they can weather the harsh cold of the Phoenix Mountains, which is why he avoids bringing them there and to tinker with them as it will prove to be a chore if done daily.

Ozwald can’t help but feel like lacking in something compared to the rest of his teammates. He knows that Leona, obviously, is a more powerful mage than him as she is a guild master, and Tsubasa has a pet, Ahab, that helps him. Him? He has raw strength and a book that lets him cast magic. He didn’t really get his magic until recently from his ventures in the Tomb of the Brass Seraphs.

He nods in agreement as Leona explained that they should be grouped up at all times to avoid being potentially ambushed by the dark guilds that linger about. He was thinking of suggesting to have himself do a little recon work to know what the dark mages can do. He has more muscle compared to the two of them that he is capable of knocking out his opponents in one hit, and his endurance allows him to last longer in a fight than an average mage. Then again, he can’t risk being potentially overpowered. His overconfidence to overcome challenging enemies and unexpected flanks would be his downfall, which is why he perished the thought of doing recon work.

“If we need to know what magic they use, unless at least one of us has encountered them before, we’d only be able to know if we fight them head on.” He says. While holding his grimoire that’s conveniently strapped on his person, he added, “Rest assured, if we’re going to fight them without a plan, I can at least deploy my temporal magics to ward off any attacks that may befall upon us. I can also help mend our wounds with it.” He was confident enough in his abilities to protect them. Through the scripts and with his chants, he can easily cast the simplest of spells inscribed in his grimoire.

Oh snap you’re into time magic? That’s cool,” Tsubasa responded. He took a little bit of their trek to discuss his own magic and how he used it. As the three of them set off down the mountain path towards the nearby market spots, Ahab took flight and zoomed down the chilled mountainscape. Though the walk wasn’t especially long, the spirits down the mountain knew the trio and hindered them not a moment, it still took a little bit of traveling to get to their destination, by which time the sun had hit its apex.

Alright so we’re looking for some people who’ve been buying up things in bulk. If they’re setting up for a long stay they’ll need basic necessities right? So we’ll probably want to check out some of these smaller places.” He pointed towards what seemed to be a general store, stocked with daily needs and the like. “If we all go in at once might alert someone. Lemme check this place out.

He stepped in and looked around before heading towards the register. There were a few people browsing but nothing that looked overly suspicious. “Hey,” He said to the cashier, “I’m Tsubasa Kageyama, I’m with the guild Silver Wolf,” He flashed the tattoo on his hand that identified his guild status, “We’re here because we’ve heard some stuff about another guild that’s set up shop in this area. We think they might be a danger to locals. Have you seen anything strange or unusual lately? Anyone buying up more than they need?

The store clerk’s eyes widened and he looked around the room. “No,” He said, a little too quickly, “Nothing here. Hah. Business has been kinda slow actually. If you lot up there are looking to buy anything in particular, we’re sellin’ haha.

Okay,” Tsubasa said, half-turning to go. It would be here that, were he less seasoned, he would have returned to the other two without a further word. However, he had experienced just enough to give him pause in this particular situation. He turned back to look at the cashier. “And of course you know that we’re highly trained mages, if there’s anything wrong here you’d be perfectly safe telling us. Or even if you felt like you couldn’t tell us, giving us some kind of indication that someone has been here recently. Where they might be? We’ll take it from there and ensure your safety.

I appreciate all that but... like I said,” The clerk said, “Nothing here.” His eyes flashed towards the corner, where Tsu had seen a single man standing before. He didn’t look back to make eye contact but instead tilted his head slightly as the clerk continued, “Getting to be that season though, we’ll be getting in some new grains from the local mill. If you’re looking to try some new bread recipes this would be the um… best bet.

Tsubasa was actually genuinely interested in that, as this was a legitimate hobby of his, but he managed to keep on topic. He did offer a, “That sounds great. I’ll be back for that soon.” At that, he turned towards the loner in the corner and walked towards him. Here was where he didn’t have quite enough experience, as he saw fit to walk directly towards his target.

Seemingly aware that he’d been sold out, the man in the corner turned and sent a wave of force energy at Tsubasa, knocking him back against the counter before he could defend himself. Moving surprisingly fast, the suspicious mage made a grabbing motion towards a nearby shelf and sent it flying at Tsu, pinning him to the counter.

From the perspective of the others, they’d hear the sudden ruckus followed by a mage making a hasty escape out the front door. He didn’t seem to have noticed the other two Silver Wolf members.

He knows something! Get him!!” Tsu shouted from inside the building as the door burst open, working to free himself from between the wood and the hard place.

Leona obligingly stayed with Ozwald outside a small general store while Tsubasa went inside to check the place out. He had the good idea of keeping Leona and Ozwald on the outside so that if their quarry was in the store the appearance of three Silver Wolf mages would not scare them into either alerting the other dark mages or doing something rash like taking the people inside the shop hostage or outright destroying the shop without regard for their own survival. Since the idea made sense to the Wizard Saint and was a good one, she readily followed Tsubasa's suggestion. Now she stood outside the shop waiting for something interesting to happen.

After a few minutes of waiting around for Tsubasa to report back the front door flung open and out ran a man with a magic signature followed by Tsubasa shouting instructions. Tsubasa shouted that the man knew something and that he was to be detained. That was Leona's cue to step in and stop the stranger before this became a lengthy chase through the mountains.

"Get ready!" Leona warned Ozwald before placing herself into the path of the stranger. The stranger paused in his tracks for a moment at the sight of the Wizard Saint, then raised his arms and fired a wave of energy at her that knocked her back a good three meters but did not knock her off of her feet, plowing a trench in the snow to mark where she had went. Leona recovered and jumped straight up into the air, then glowed silver as she transitioned into a Meteor Jump Kick. With her right leg extended the Wizard Saint descended like a silver meteor towards the surprised mage, who barely dodged the kick with a sidestep to the left as she connected with the ground and did a recovery roll onto her right shoulder to return to a standing position.

The enemy thought he would be clever and circle behind her for an easy attack, but Leona had learned a spell just for that occasion. She channeled magic into her right fist and spun 180 degrees, performing a Spinning Backfist that struck the enemy right in the right temple. The man clutched his head and staggered back, but Leona did not leap to the attack right away. She recalled what Luna Mira had told her about thinking before acting and slowed down a moment.

Why rush to the attack when she held a momentary advantage?

Instead of rushing right back into hand-to-hand combat Leona raised her right hand and fired a Wind Blast that staggered the mage further and nearly knocked him off his feet, making her advantage last a little longer. While he was staggered Leona sprinted towards him with a Zephyr Dash to close the distance, but he recovered a bit faster than anticipated and punched towards her midsection with a glowing violet fist that hit her stomach. Leona clenched her teeth and hit back with a Mach Straight to his chest that knocked him off his feet, sending him a meter away and onto the snow.

The Wizard Saint felt the adrenaline flowing and rushed the man before he could get up. She grabbed him by the collar and he retaliated by seizing her wrists with hands glowing purple and squeezed her wrists until she let go. He then tried to strike with a palm thrust to her chest, but Leona was just a tiny bit faster and sidestepped the strike, then sidestepped back into place and quickly followed with a Mach Uppercut that hit him under the chin and sent him flying a couple feet up before he landed on his back for a second time. This time he was slower to get up, suggesting that his injuries were beginning to affect him.

He got to his feet and faced the Wizard Saint, but she performed a Tornado Kick that connected with his left temple, knocking him down and to the snow. Leona hurried over to the barely conscious man and grabbed him by the collar, this time meeting no resistance from the dazed mage. She stood him up and then forced his arms behind his back and held onto him for all she was worth.

"Ozwald, help me make sure he doesn't get away!" Leona instructed her guildmate. She was pretty sure that the dark mage was not going anywhere after the beating he had taken, but the Wizard Saint wanted to make certain that she did not lose their only lead on the location of the dark mages.

Ozwald followed suit as the party went down to the mountain to a nearby village. He wasn’t aware why Time Magic is regarded as special or ‘cool’, as Kageyama puts it. He just picked up a book which happened to grant him temporal magics, but that is a story for another time. They arrived at the village and he listened to Kageyama talk about what the dark mages would have done, silently agreeing and acknowledging the logic of what the dark guild might have done. He saw him get inside the general store and he waited idly near the door just in case anything were to happen. He bided his time flipping through the pages of his grimoire hoping for new knowledge to behold to him, but that wasn’t the case for now.

“Nothing new, huh.” He muttered under his breath.

Suddenly, he heard the sound of commotion coming from the inside of the general store. Emerging from the door is a suspicious looking man running away from who knows who, until Kageyama cried out for them not to let that man get away. In an instant, he leapt into action, or rather, would have if Leona didn’t catch them first. He watched the guild master get down to business and confronted the mage, who retaliated by sending waves of force against the guild master. He proved to put up a fight and saw her successfully subduing the now dazed mage, but without any damages inflicted upon her. When he ordered him to keep him from escaping, he obliged, but not before tending to her injury from the mage’s punch. “Okay, but first, let me tend to your hurting.” With his grimoire in hand, he flipped through the pages of his grimoire, stopping at the page where the script of the stars were located. Caressing through the soft papyrus, he collected the temporal energies from the inscribed script and imbued it onto her, undoing the damage dealt. In hindsight, he thought his healing wouldn’t really do any visible changes considering he saw Leona to still be in fighting condition, or he assumed to be. She is a guild master, afterall, and he would be hard pressed to believe that a mere mage of his caliber can take her down easily.

He continued to fulfill his duty and procured a rope from his backpack, tying him up and sparing him little chance to get away as he secured the binding. In the off chance of the mage channeling magic through his hands, he also bound them with rope and affording him no window of escape. Now that all is done, he believes it is his job to interrogate the now captive wizard, an area he is most proficient in. “Now then,” He says as he rests his right hand on his left shoulder, “We can do this the easy way, or my way. I’d prefer if you offered no resistance in our query. Because otherwise,” he paused to take off his goggles, revealing a pair of lustrous emerald eyes, and his scholarly demeanor shifted as he gave a sly grin to the man, “big daddy Oz will get mad.” He whispered to his ear, but a little audible for the others to hear. He intended to make him cooperate through intimidation and, seeing a big hunk of muscle up in your face would be enough to make anyone seem powerless. “Do you understand?”

    The mage nods.

“Good boy. Now, where are your people hiding?” He asked, looking to know where the rest of the dark guild is. Out of fear of being smacked by either of the two of them, the mage responded, “Th-they’re by the abandoned b-building a few miles west from here!” “And what name does your guild go by?” He asked once more, perhaps allowing him to question him further should the mage be affiliated with those who attempted to retrieve one of the brass artifacts before. “W-Weather Control.” He sighs disappointingly, but takes this moment to ask what the members are capable of, “What can they do?” “They… they use magic based on elements, I think…fire, air, water, earth magics. The likes…” The mage said. He got what he thought he needed, and Ozwald didn’t really have anything else to ask from the mage, other than if he has seen something fall from the sky, but he might not know anything about it. Perhaps the rest of the guild knows. He was pleased of himself that this interrogation didn't take long for him. “Do you have anything else you need to ask from him, Leona?” He wondered if Leona needed something else from the mage, perhaps asking him what he failed to ask beforehand. Kageyama might also want to ask something from him so the floor is all theirs.

OOC: I have Tsubasa's permission to post in their place for this time since Leona was addressed directly by Ozwald. Once Tsubasa makes their next post the posting order will revert to normal.

Coming down off of the adrenaline rush after the intense battle with the dark mage, Leona watched Ozwald use his tome to heal all the wounds she had accumulated during the struggle to subdue the mage without killing him or knocking him out. That task was harder than it sounded due to the sheer power the Wizard Saint could bring to each fight. After Ozwald healed her he tied up the subdued mage with some rope that he produced from his backpack.

"Thanks for the healing, Ozwald." Leona made sure to thank her guildmate for his help. She then watched him speak to the captive dark mage in a friendly manner. The "adventurer extraordinaire" was about to work some magic of a different sort to get what the guild needed to know out of the man.

Ozwald's friendly approach to the interrogation belied the threat he posed. Ozwald was a big guy who had quite a bit of muscle despite his scholarly appearance and demeanor. He was keenly aware of that disconnect; in fact he leveraged it towards his goal without ever having to scream at the captive mage or inflict physical harm on him. It was somewhat disconcerting to watch Ozwald get information just by implied threats, not overt threats. Watching him work made Leona glad that he was on her side.

By using that approach to its fullest he managed to gain some crucial information that would help the Silver Wolf trio find the dark guild without having to comb through the entire Phoenix Mountains range to do so. Leona briefly wondered where he had gotten the practice necessary to become a skilled interrogator, but some questions were best left unanswered. Instead she focused on the results.

The first and arguably most important thing the Silver Wolf mages learned that the dark guild was headquartered next to an abandoned building a few miles to the west of their current position.

The second piece of information was the name of the dark guild they were looking for: Weather Report.

The third was what the members of Weather Control could do. As the name suggested, its members used elemental magic like fire, air, earth, water, and other such magic.

Leona was glad to learn all of this because now the Silver Wolf mages had not only the location of the dark guild's headquarters but also a name and basic information on what its members were capable of. Now they were not going into enemy territory entirely blind. Ozwald's question caught Leona's attention.

Was there anything else she wanted to ask the captive dark mage?

Leona gave the question some thought and tried to come up with a good question or two to ask, but the fading adrenaline rush had numbed her mind somewhat and she was unable to come up with anything good.

"I don't have any further questions for him, Ozwald. Thanks for your help." Leona answered her guildmate's question. Perhaps Tsubasa would have some questions that the Guild Mistress had failed to ask. She was satisfied with what they did learn because it allowed them to prepare for the raid on Weather Control's base, but as the Guild Mistress she should have had the foresight to ask more questions of the man while she had the chance. She just hoped that her guildmates would not pay the price for her lack of foresight.

Not In My Back Yard Empty Re: Not In My Back Yard

Post by Tsubasa Kageyama 2nd October 2020, 12:39 am

Tsubasa kip-upped to his feet and, rubbing his back, walked back towards the others as they were interrogating the captive dark mage. Just as Tsubasa arrived he heard the name of the evil guild and sighed. Weather Control had been a big part of his recent past, albeit not intentionally. It had turned out that he had been foiling them at every turn without actually knowing anything about them. This came to a head when he actually met one of their Lieutenants after the vengeful sub-leader named Samiel had come after the young man’s family as retaliation for what he deemed to be the ‘final straw’.

This had lead to the first time Tsubasa had actually taken a life. The only time, to date. He had been laying low for a short time aside from his gaiden adventure with the hot people (known to most as Mythal and Serilda of the Rune Knights), but it didn’t strike him as just a coincidence that they would pop up so close to the Silver Wolf guild hall. “Ah crap.” He said, “I’ve dealt with these guys before. If they’re anything like the one I’ve had to contend with, they’re not the weakest mages around. Maybe if we catch them off guard we can negotiate with them about-

He cut himself off and acted by instinct, reaching his hand out as a baseball player would to catch a wayward ball. Rather than a In a loud fwumpf, there lay a flying squirrel of unusual color. Ahab uncurled himself and said, “Tsu, other people, it’s the Weather Control guys from before! I think I found them. They’re setting up to do something… bad. I couldn’t recognize many of the runes but I could swear I saw a summoning sigil as the outline. And I’m pretty sure those guys ain’t summoning an ice cream truck.

How close are they to finishing?

How long does it take to boil an egg?

You know I hate when you use egg-based chronology.” Tsubasa sighed, “Well hey, at least we know that guy’s honest,” Tsu jerked a thumb towards the captured criminal, “I know I'm not leading this mission but I think we should take care of this right-stat-now.” He produced from his hoodie pocket a small silver disc which he threw on the ground. Before it would hit, it expanded in size and formed the shape of a boomerang, looking roughly large enough for a person to stand on. It didn’t actually hit the ground, but levitated slightly waiting for riders. “Miss Mercury helped me build this. It’s pretty dang fast. I got one more but someone’s gonna have to ride shotgun, unless ya’ll can fly.” He reached into his pocket and pulled out another one while he stepped on the first. Whoever rode shotgun would likely feel a little cramped on the standing device.

Letting them decide for themselves who would ride what, or if the device was even needed, he took off into the air. Balancing on it would be a lot like standing on two vibrating planks that veered inward ever so slightly. However, provided the rider had a strong sense of balance, they would likely not be thrown off for the short trip. Tsubasa went ahead, with Ahab on his shoulder pointing the way. Tsubasa’s mind raced with possibilities of what they would encounter once they arrived there. He knew that their Guild Leader was among the strongest mages in the land, but he wasn’t sure how he and Ozwald would fare.

Not In My Back Yard Empty Re: Not In My Back Yard

Post by Ozwald Morgan 19th October 2020, 8:34 pm

“Oh bollocks. It’s going to be soon, isn’t it.” He says, rhetorically, though he already knew the implications of the egg metaphor Kageyama’s companion told them. As much as he would like to be worried, with his temporal magics, he should be able to get there in no time. There’s little doubt to his capabilities, seeing as he’s recently acquired his magic. But he is confident in using that one spell though, among the rest. Variable stratagems could be formulated with the use of this one spell he has mastered over the course of a week - Phase. From the grimoire, it detailed how the spell makes use of the Brass Cogs to accelerate one’s own time to move ahead or move back without altering the timeline, implying that the use of the spell is for purpose of moving to and fro from one place to another, giving the illusion that he was teleporting. Though offered a vehicle to get there quickly, he preferred using his magic. A little claustrophobic, primarily, and he is unfamiliar with how it works. He thought it counterproductive to make use of a vehicle he doesn’t know how to use.

He sighed as he saw Kageyama leave the both of them behind to race for the dark guild. This was only his second guild assignment and he’s already pressed for time. It’s true that sometimes, he was given a deadline by museums to recover artifacts back when he was a magicless adventurer. Fortunately for them, time is on his side, both literally and figuratively. “Do all guilds deal with this stuff?” He asked Leona. Idle chit chat won’t get them anywhere though, so in his initiative, he opened his grimoire and flipped the pages towards the script for the spell. He caressed the papyrus with the script and gathered the temporal energies from the grimoire to conjure a golden magic circle which looks something akin to a clock. Behind it looks like a wormhole filled with gears of brass and gold, and gold plated numbers float within. “I’ll go on ahead. Catch you there?” He says as he enters the wormhole, but not before hearing what Leona had to say to him. The hands on the clock magic circle sped up as he entered and disappeared.

He’ll never get tired of this spell, ever. Once he entered the wormhole, it looked as if time had stopped around him. But he knew for a fact that he’s faster within the timestream he is in, and consequently it made everything seem slower or just isn’t moving. He saw Leona standing still behind him. He didn’t go idle for long as he once more opened his grimoire and flipped the pages to caress one of the papyrus pages once more to make him move faster - Acceleration. Though in hindsight, he should have used this spell on them beforehand, but seeing as Kageyama left them behind without missing a beat and him already in the timestream, it’s already too late to use it on others. He used the temporal energies he gathered from the page with Acceleration in it to himself, and he could feel himself moving faster. He then rushed forward and followed Kageyama’s trail, using Phase script every time he left the timestream.

Post by Leona Jarnefeldt 19th October 2020, 10:37 pm

Things got a lot more interesting when Tsubasa arrived shortly before his flying squirrel companion and the flying squirrel told Tsubasa about something bad that the dark guild had in the works, something that involved a summoning ritual. To make matters worse, the Silver Wolf trio was on a short timeframe... an egg comparison was used. And to top things off Tsubasa admitted that he had encountered Weather Control in the past, but finding out more about the circumstances behind that encounter would have to wait until later. Right now they had a crisis to avert.

Tsubasa suggested that they deal with what was going on right this instant. Leona agreed.

"I agree, Tsubasa. Let's stop this ritual now." She agreed with his urgent request to stop the summoning ritual before it could be completed. He produced a small silver disc and threw it to the ground, where it expanded in the shape of a boomerang with enough space for someone to stand on it. He then produced a second one and attached it to the first. Tsubasa offered for someone to ride with him, but Ozwald and Leona had their own ideas about transport.

"You go ahead, Tsubasa. I'll catch up with you. I've gotta figure out what to do about the dark mage we've captured." Leona said to him. She then turned to Ozwald, who had asked her if guilds dealt with saving the world while under a strict time limit. The blonde nodded.

"Guilds deal with a lot of interesting situations, Ozwald. Not all of them involve strict time limits, but the life of a guild mage has a lot of excitement. Of course I'm only speaking from the Independent standpoint... I can't speak for Legal or Dark Guilds." Leona replied to Ozwald's question the best she could considering the time crunch they were under. She saw that he had created a portal of sorts that he could go through, meaning that he did not have to rely on either Tsubasa or Leona for transport.

Ozwald asked if he could go on ahead of them so that Tsubasa would not be left without support. Leona nodded.

"Sure, Ozwald. Go on ahead of me and help Tsubasa if he needs it. I'll follow on my Winged Lion and be there shortly." Leona gave him the go-ahead to head for the site of the ritual ahead of her. She then raised her hands to summon Winged Lion so that she could follow her guildmates before they got too far ahead of her. Leona was by far the strongest of the trio and she needed to be with Tsubasa and Ozwald in case Weather Control had somehow learned that the Silver Wolf mages were on their way to stop them.

"WINGED LION!" Leona called out telepathically. Moments later the Winged Lion appeared at her side and looked towards her.

The blonde pointed towards Tsubasa and Ahab, who were barely visible in the distance and were moving away at a good pace.

"Follow them!" Leona ordered before hopping onto the Winged Lion's back and secured herself on its back. She was about to take off when she remembered that she needed to deal with the captured dark mage. The Wizard Saint took a few moments to think the matter over and then called upon two more summons, Sky Champion Rafale and Tempest Avian. They would be the ones to keep the dark mage where he was until the authorities arrived while Leona hurried to end the threat to the Phoenix Mountains and possibly the world.

"Sky Champion Rafale, Tempest Avian, make sure that this dark mage stays here. I want him to remain alive and unharmed if possible." Leona informed the green-clad summon and the metallic owl. They nodded and lifted the man to his feet. As two of her strongest summons, Leona had no doubt that they were more than able to keep the man from escaping to warn his friends or wreak any more havoc. Leona called out another summon, Sylvia the Harpy Sister.

"Hey girl, how's it- oh." Sylvia started before gazing at the man that Rafale and Tempest Avian were keeping a watch on.

"Sylvia, I need you to go back to Silver Wolf Guild Hall and have someone contact the authorities. Tell them that two of my summons are holding a dark mage for them to pick up." Leona said. Sylvia nodded.

"I'll head there right away." She said before taking flight. With those arrangements having been made, Leona took off on the back of the Winged Lion and flew at about the same height as Tsubasa was. She did not want to fly too high and ruin the element of surprise... a green-clad mage on a winged brown lion did not blend in with the terrain at all.

C'mon it's time to blow this scene
Get everybody and their stuff together...
    Okay 3, 2, 1 Let's Jam

Tsu recalled the first disc just before he departed. The other two had their own way to follow him, which he respected. He'd figured Miss Leona had her own way to travel at her rank, but again, he had little to no knowledge of Mr. Oz. Seeing what appeared to be a type of teleportation gave the young man a newfound respect for the time magic user. There was no time to praise though, as the trio travelled across the landscape to what would quickly become a battlefield.

"No one saw you leave, right?" Tsu asked Ahab as they travelled.

"Right, I was silent as a flying squirrel." Ahab nodded.

"Great," Tsu said. He wasn't sure how silent normal flying squirrels were, but he knew that his was great at stealth. He focused on the flight, and prepared to battle as soon as they arrived, calming himself with one of the spells taught to him by the Stone Master Dayu. Though normally a very energetic and rambunctious young man, this spell helped Tsubasa focus that energy into his attacks rather than let it be wasted doing something reckless.

"Twenty meters past here," Ahab said quietly. "There's a small clearing. There were about ten guys that I saw." He crawled across Tsubasa's body and reached into his jacket pocket, pulling out a small camera. Tsubasa had a habit of recording battling videos and uploading his exploits to LacTube.

Tsubasa nodded and signaled the same to the others using simple hand gestures. There likely wasn't enough time to form a detailed battle plan, so they would have to trust each other moving forward.

The space between them and their foes shortened and as they prepared to leave the safety of the forest, Tsubasa put his hands together, forming a sphere of water roughly the size of a soccer ball. As they cleared the copse of trees, he raced for the summoning circle itself and, locating the person that seemed to be speaking, unleashed his attack on the robed villain. The sphere of water quickly expanded as Tsubasa raised it over his head, becoming large enough to hold a person, before Tsubasa smashed it down onto the speaker like a triumphant basketball dunk. The person seemed to be trapped in the water for a moment.

Following up on his dunk, Tsubasa landed on the ground as the Mach 15 continued onward with Ahab taking control to film the battle. It seemed the little squirrel's count had been slightly off. There were twelve visible warriors shrouded in black robes. They each had a crest on their chests that marked them as part of Weather Control's nefarious guild. At the summoning circle were three more surrounding the object itself. Tsubasa felt he could handle them, which would leave eight others for Miss Leona and Mr. Oz.

Since this wasn't an action movie, the three others attacked Tsu at once. The closest one pulled out a scimitar that gleamed like it was powered by thunder clouds. Taking just a split second to transform into his battle suit, Tsubasa drew a blade that looked as though it was powered by flame and crossed blades with the first. At the second closest one, he took a deep breath and shouted, "Get back, fiend!" His voice, magically empowered, was audible to all on the battlefield and the sonic force sent the second mage flying backwards into a nearby tent, causing it to collapse under his weight. He wasn't done for, but he was out of the way for a moment. Meanwhile, as he parried a strike from the primary target and slashed in response, another Weather Control mage advanced on him.

Not In My Back Yard Empty Re: Not In My Back Yard

Post by Ozwald Morgan 28th October 2020, 11:13 am

Time passed by a lot longer in Ozwald’s perspective. While within the time stream, he only had a few seconds’ window before the spell wore off which would bring him back to the material plane. While within, he’d occasionally take short breaks from all the running around; an acceptable downside in what could only be described as a powerful utility spell. Although moving backwards in time proved to be easy enough for Ozwald as the spell itself would automatically bring him back to the place where he was a couple of seconds ago. Such was the reason why Phase is a personal favorite of Ozwald. It was a good thing he allowed himself short breaks in between spell casts. He could easily follow Kageyama through the woods. With his physical endurance and stamina, he was able to catch up to him.

When he arrived, Kageyama was already out of the vehicle. Perhaps noticing his and Leona’s arrival, he waved some hand signs to the both of them. By the looks of things, there doesn’t seem to be much time left to create a plan to stop Weather Control from completing their spell. He himself rushed towards the fray, and he understood that he would be taking care of the ones in the summoning circle. Meanwhile, Ozwald wanted to take care of any enemy reinforcements that would come towards him. This is most likely the first time he’s fought an entire force of enemy mages because prior to his joining the guild, he avoided confrontations for the most part with dark mages.

While heading towards them, he stumbled upon a garbage bin when he noticed something similar to brass. His interest piqued, he moved towards it and found what he believed to be a brass artifact - a pair of turntables attached to a gear shaped disk. He drew this conclusion from the familiar gears that was etched unto the pages of a book about the Brass Seraphs. He breathed a sigh of relief, knowing that the dark guild doesn’t even know what it was. Then he heard marching sounds coming from him which sounded like they were headed towards Kageyama’s location. He thought enough attention was created when he heard him shout unusually loud. A spell of some sorts?

He didn’t lag behind as he conjured a similar set of glyphs, opening a portal towards the timestream and entering it. He pressed forward, and while within the time stream, he used this time to arm himself with a pair of brass gauntlets, powered by one of the Brass Artifacts. Exiting the time stream, he managed to get in between 3 mages. Before they could even react, he delivered a swift uppercut punch towards one of the lanky ones, followed by a swift kick in the guts to another mage, and a roundhouse kick to a taller one, knocking them out cold consecutively like clockwork. “Fire Magic - Hellfire Beam!” “Ice Magic - Hail Ball!” “Lightning Magic - Levin Pillar!” 3 other mages chanted consecutively as spells were fired off one after another against Ozwald, “Earth Magic - Landslide!” “Wind Magic - Wind Blade!” 2 more chanted on his flank. Perfect, the other 2 was in a location where he had been a couple of seconds ago. Glyphs appeared, this time beneath him, and he was sent “backwards in time”, moving him back to where he was a couple of seconds ago just behind the two mages who casted Earth and Wind elemental spells and avoided being hit by those spells. “Hello there.” He said to them. They were shocked to see him suddenly behind him, and he grabbed their heads and forced them to hit against each other, knocking them out cold. He moved forwards through Phase once more and delivered a swift punch in the guts against the other three.

He looked back as he saw Kageyama manage himself. He saw another wizard about to strike down its blow against him. Not missing a beat, he flipped through his grimoire and caressed one of the papyrus pages with the scripts of Bulwark etched onto it, gathering temporal energies from the tome and sending them towards him. Pebble sized asteroids start to revolve around him just as they projected a temporal barrier which deflected the attack away from him. This should afford him ample time to react to the enemy’s transgressions.

Post by Leona Jarnefeldt 28th October 2020, 10:38 pm

Having arrived last to the site of the summoning ritual, Leona saw that her guildmates had done a good job of cleaning up the Weather Control mages who were outside in a clearing, but she saw a stream of them rushing towards Ozwald. Leona decided that was where she was needed and shortly made her presence felt. Leona pointed the site where she wanted to land to Winged Lion, who nodded and began to descend to allow his mistress to land where she needed to be.

Almost a minute later Leona landed on the back of Winged Lion and swiftly dismounted, then sent the summon airborne again to serve as a distraction from above while she cleaned up the enemy reinforcements focusing on her and Ozwald. She counted ten more Weather Control mages heading to sweep Ozwald and Tsubasa from the clearing and resume their ritual. Leona would need to take them down fast before they could get their momentum going again.

Leona activated her new Gale Force ability and felt a rush of power... observers could see that Leona had a faint silver outline and that her hair was blowing violently about even though the gusts of wind were sporadic. The first of the enemies approached her and paused for a moment, charging a ball of electricity to throw at her. Recalling her last encounter with lightning mages, the Wizard Saint kept her distance and used a Wind Bullet spell, firing the small silver marble just as the mage fired his yellow electric ball. Leona sidestepped the ball of electricity while her Wind Bullet hit the enemy mage in the chest and knocked him back.

Leona saw most of the enemy reinforcements group up into a semicircle and prepare spells of four different elements, fire, ice, lightning, and wind. There were two cheeky mages in the semicircle who prepared a wind spell. Leona was amused that someone would be so cheeky as to use a Wind spell against her, one of the strongest Wind mages alive.

The Weather Control mages began firing their spells in staggered volleys; the ice mages led off with ice beams fired at Leona's legs, which she dodged by jumping straight up into the air to a height of four meters, then launching into a Meteor Jump Kick aimed right for the lightning mage who had first attacked her. She moved so quickly that her right foot slammed into his face, causing him to fall backwards and fire his lightning spell off to the left, striking a fellow Weather Control member and shocking him with an errant lightning bolt.

Having seized the advantage with the Meteor Jump Kick, Leona moved to keep the advantage by taking aggressive action against the eight mages still on their feet. Leona moved to take care of the left side of the semicircle as she telepathically ordered Winged Lion to distract the right side of the semicircle from firing on her.

Leona got into the face of a fire mage, who tried to use a fire-infused punch to burn her face. She ducked under the straight punch and hit him in the face with a Swift Palm before following up with a Mach Uppercut to his chin that knocked him up and onto his back, where he passed out. Leona spotted another ice mage firing a ball of ice that resembled a typical snowflake before it exploded like a fragmentation grenade and icy shrapnel went everywhere. She used a Zephyr Dash to escape the fragmentation of the snowflake and close the gap with the ice mage, who was so surprised by Leona's sudden appearance that he barely had time to charge up for an ice-infused punch before she hit him directly in the face with a Mach Straight that knocked him out on the spot.

He had barely fallen onto the snow when a beam of concentrated fire magic called "Hellfire Beam" whooshed by her left side. Leona spotted the offender and rushed through the snow towards the man, avoiding another Hellfire Beam aimed directly at her head by executing a last-second evasive roll to the front and popping back onto her feet to resume the charge towards the fire mage before he could burn her. Leona closed to within five meters of the man and executed a Zephyr Dash that caught him completely off guard; the Wizard Saint slammed into his chest with a wind barrier that sent him flying backwards and left her unharmed. Once he was down she heard yelling from about thirty meters away as Winged Lion dove on an ice mage and sent him scurrying for safety as the other Weather Control mages fired spells at the retreating lion.

In front of her an enemy wind mage blinked into existence and leaped backwards, firing a series of crescent blades of wind from his hands. Leona ducked under them just in time to avoid a haircut and raised her left hand, firing a Gale Cannon that hit him in the chest and knocked him down, then ran over to him and kicked him in the face, knocking him out. Leona faced a fire mage who rushed towards her with his hands glowing the color of his chosen element.

Leona resisted the impulse to rush in and stayed back until he got to within three meters of her, then raised her left hand and hit him with a Wind Blast, but to her surprise he blocked it with a "Fire Wall" and closed the gap to reach hand-to-hand combat range. Leona drew back her right fist and used a Hurricane Punch to hit the man twelve times in the face and torso faster than he could blink, then hit him with a Tornado Kick to the head while he was still dazed from the Hurricane Punch. The fire mage twirled in midair and landed on his back unconscious.

Leona faced the right side of the hemisphere, which had five Weather Control mages. The elements of earth, ice, fire, lightning, and wind were represented by one mage apiece and they were giving Winged Lion a hard time with ranged spells that he narrowly dodged. The Wizard Saint took a moment to breathe and then focused magic and fired an Air Pressure spell at the lightning mage while he was busy aiming at her. The compressed column of air hit the man in the head and torso and disoriented him, but he was about forty meters away from her position and his fellows were now aiming spells at her.

Leona dodged a Hellfire Beam with a one-handed cartwheel to the left and then repeated the cartwheel to dodge a Frost Beam aimed at her chest. She began to sprint forward when she jumped over a wave of sharp rocks that erupted from the ground in front of her, barely missing getting impaled. The Wizard Saint then dodged a volley of crescent blades of wind aimed at her neck by ducking under them just in time. She was within thirty-two meters of the men, but they still had a range advantage. She would need help from her guildmates to get through this fight.

"I need help!" Leona called to her guildmates as she was forced to go on the defensive.

    Always,
    I know,
    You'll be
    At my show.

It had been a while since Tsubasa fought with anyone else, as in having allies on his side. As Mr. Ozwald took out the mage creeping up on him just before he himself could react, he gave the fellow Silver Wolf an appreciative nod, likely somewhat stilted by his masked appearance, but there was no time to explain. Striking the enemy down with his blade, Tsubasa was careful to make his strikes nonlethal as he still had a very strict policy against killing people. He couldn't stop the actions of his allies, but he could refrain from doing it himself.

He rushed towards the next group only to be reminded that his guild leader was not on the same scale as him when it came to mages. Even Miss Mercury was dwarfed by her. She acted and reacted at the speed at which Tsubasa comprehended the attacks coming at her. He knew that she wouldn't be able to take them all on, otherwise she wouldn't have called on them to join in this investigation at all. He figured it would be best to conserve his energy until called upon, keeping his various battle advantages ready but otherwise remaining still until his turn came.

Therefore, when she called for backup, he rushed into the front lines with newfound speed and energy. His battle suit had the ability, seemingly of its own volition, to occasionally teleport him around the battlefield to cut into the eye-line of the mage that was closest and targeting Miss Leona.

"Hey," He said simply, before delivering a punch to the gut that would cause a rippling crack throughout the small clearing, as though the sound barrier had broken several miles above them. The collection of sonic spells that his suit produced were extremely dangerous if he wasn't careful, but he had practiced enough to be cautious when using them, matching the strength of his opponents. His other attack was strong enough in its own right. Tsubasa punched down at the ground with incredible force and, seemingly as a reaction, the ground sent back a boulder shaped like a fist that uppercutted the doubled over mage into the air.

The mage landed, crumpled into a ball while Tsubasa was already on to the next foe. While the others had their specialties and positive qualities, definitely, Tsubasa was extremely fast. It seemed almost like he was becoming faster and faster as he moved around, picking up momentum like golden coins lying floating straight along a path.

Without losing momentum, he ran across another mage who was preparing some kind of spell based on the trees, if the movement of the forest was any indication. Rather than let him continue, Tsubasa snapped his fingers three times and sent a trio of cinders into the mage's clothes. As he spun around the mage, literally running circles around him, his burning fingers ignited into a single stream of flame that engulfed the mage and knocked him out of his concentration. Dulling the flames as quickly as he had started, without risking any permanent or life-threatening damage, Tsubasa finished this opponent with a force blast that caused him to move forward even faster, leaving his opponent on the ground in the dust.

He strafed along the battlefield and raised his empty hand, the one that had previously punched the shit out of the mage he had surprised. Seemingly gripping nothing at first, his fingers curled around the handle of a whip as it appeared, the actual whip forming as a burst of lightning that came from the handle. He swung it around in the air to gather momentum then used it to corral one of the mages that was a few dozen meters from him, interrupting his water spell by sending a bursting charge through him. The spell then faulted and caused him to collapse in a pile of his own failed magic.

It started to make sense why Weather Control had known about Tsubasa, and why they had targeted him even if he had foiled their plans to begin with. He seemed to, as it were, speak their language. Little did they know, however,  while they each spoke one language fluently, he had somehow stumbled his way into being a merely conversational polyglot. The spells that he was expressing in each natural magic were pretty much all that he knew from each school.

He turned to another and repeated the technique again, once more landing a successful down but failing to knock the mage out this time. Pulling the mage towards him with the whip, the villain retaliated by covering his body in the ground that surrounded him. "Earthbreaker - Stoneskin!" He shouted. This killed the connection to the whip and brought it reeling back to Tsubasa. This threw the young mage off balance, giving the Stoneskin mage enough time to rush through the earth and come up like a spectre in Tsubasa's face. Before Tsu could react, the Stoneskin punched him, seemingly with the force of the earth, and sent him stumbling back.

Tsubasa, stubborn as he was innocent, caught himself at a three point stance and launched himself back into melee range. This time, however, he materialized a gun in his free hand, his sword finally dissipating. The gun seemed to have a bayonet on the underside of it. As he reached close range with Stoneskin, he sliced through the air and, rather than cutting his opponent's face, the bayonet glowed like the sun for a moment and blinded Stoneskin.

This gave Tsubasa enough time to gather up another massive ball of water and put his foe in an aquatic timeout. The force of the water caused the stone surrounding him, composed originally of mere dirt, to crumble into a murky mud which was apparently too saturated for this mage to control. With his hand still in the water bubble, Tsubasa sent it flying back towards the woods, with the water breaking against a tree and sending the mage to the ground in a slump.

Turning round to face his allies, he said, "I think we—" His words were cut off by one last Weather Control mage sending a spiraling wave of water at Tsubasa. The young man made a circle in the air and seemed to create a black hole which devoured the spell. Meanwhile Tsubasa aimed underneath his own arm and fired four consecutive shots with his small but apparently very powerful handgun, taking the mage out as he was defenseless, "I say, I think we won." He finished coolly.

The fight was going to the guild’s favor as both Kageyama and Leona fought the dark guild with their own strengths, using their magic and casting spells one right after another. Oswald isn’t used to using magic to attack someone, confident that his brute strength would be enough to knock his opponents down. Phase works best for a brawler like him to combat the likes of Weather Control who are full of mages with magics related to the elements. With this one spell he is able to elude their attacks one right after another. This made him invincible somewhat against them, thinking that maybe he isn’t fighting fair. Then again, wicked mages never play fair, so it’s only right to return the favor. This gave him the upper hand in dealing with the dark mages as his physical strength is enough to take them down. He wondered why they fell so easily, maybe it’s because of the lack of exercise and nutrition? Or maybe they’re too magic reliant.

All’s well and dandy and he fell 3 more mages on his left with swift consecutive kicks to the gut. Then he fought a lone mage who isn’t like the rest of them. “You think you’re so tough just because you’re strong?” The mage said. He was confused at the questionable choice of words, and just replied, “I am.” nonchalantly, an appropriate comeback though not as witty as he hoped it would be. His retort pushed the mage to a fit of rage as a cold aura emanated from him. “You think you’re so smart?! I’ll show you smart!” He said as a cyan colored magic circle appeared beneath him. Cold fog seeped in and concealed the mage, and suddenly, a creature of white fur thrice his size rushed towards him. The fog dispersed as the creature leapt from his previous location, and it almost hit Ozwald with its icy claws. The mage was now a white bear-like creature with ice for claws. Great, he thought. A take over mage. This isn’t actually the first time he’s fought against a take over mage, but this is the first time he fought against one who used a full take over. He only sparred with mages of his age group in his high school days, but they only used partial take over.

    He’s met his match.

The take over mage once more lunged to an attack with its cold claws of ice and managed to get a scratch on his arm, tearing through the fabrics of his clothes, though he did make sure the attack wasn’t lethal. It’s also his fault for neglecting to use his temporal magics to ward him from attacks. The mage sneered at his misfortune, “Not so tough now, are you?” “‘Tis but a scratch. I’ve had worse.” He retorted. The two engage in a melee as Ozwald uses his temporal magics to ward him from attacks through the caressing of the page with the Bulwark script and coating himself with a temporal barrier. This time, the mage’s claws couldn’t land a hit on either of Ozwald’s clothing, let alone break it. Time was still on his side, and he used his accelerated speed to dodge his attacks. Once he had the opportunity to cast Phase and go towards his flank, the mage lashed out from behind him as if he expected this to happen; as if he read his every move. He was dismayed, but unrelenting in his pursuit of victory against the dark mage.

It was time for him to switch tactics.

He started to use his grimoire more and relied on its strength to use magic. It was about time he started using magic more, anyways. “You’re dead meat!” The mage said as it lunged towards him in an attempt to kill him outright. Without caressing the papyrus pages, he extended his arms to reach out against the mage, and a golden magic circle with the script of the Wandering Heliosphere appeared in front of his hands. “Flare!” he yelled out. A beam of temporal energy was unleashed from the magic circle and it managed to hit his opponent directly. “AAAUUGHHH!!!” He screamed in pain as he felt his own time going faster. It burnt, and it hurt like hell. The take over mage turned back to his original form, but he looked at least a year older, with searing burns on his torso. The spell was more effective than it should be, probably because he is in the phoenix mountains. It wasn’t supposed to age him up to a year, and he only noticed this effect. The others probably wouldn’t know the difference.

He’s finished with his fight, and so is Kageyama, though the guild master was in a bit of a pickle herself, being surrounded by enemies. As much as he wanted to help, his fellow guild mate already had the situation under control as he thought they won. He doesn’t seem to notice anyone else creeping up to them for an ambush. And there’s also the problem with the summoning circle. “That's everyone, I think. I daresay I never fought a lot of mages before, let alone a large group of dark mages. Hm… I can’t help but think that evidence of a summoning circle in this area would lead to problems in the future.” He said as he flipped through the pages of his grimoire, “I’ll handle this.”

A hushed ticking could be heard as he started to chant his spell, a golden magic circle appearing on the ground that’s large enough to fit an entire camp. Etched unto the magic circle is the numbers 1 to 12 with a pair of clock hands moving to the ticks. Animated shapes of gears and cogs could be seen within the magic circle. “O Hands of Time, guide the flow of time to its former thread.” He chants. Suddenly, time within the area seemed to slow down, as well as the ticking sound from his spell. “Swift seconds, move up thy momentum that the passage of time shall be swift.” As he chanted these lines, time around him was getting slower and slower. “Ancient Hourglass, unwind the present and eliminate the existence of the would be herald of destruction!” He chanted the third verse, and time was getting even slower. “Chronicle Script!” As he chanted the fourth verse, the clock hands stopped at exactly 12:00, and the ticking stopped. Snow stopped falling to the ground, and trees stopped swaying to the dance of the winds. Time stopped, but not for any who breathed life and those with magic contained within them. “Flow Reversal!” He finished chanting, and the clock hands started to move, but in a counterclockwise motion. It started slow but it got faster, and just as the hands of time moved backwards, so did everything else except for the mages present in the area. Camps were undone, and the falling snow went back into the sky. The summoning circle created by the dark guild was no more as it was undone by his spell.

The spell was finished, and he was exhausted. He dropped to his knees from the amount of magic he had to spend. Though he was out of breath from his recent ordeal, he still had energy to spare for a trip back to the guild hall. And he wasn’t as tired as he was when he used this spell those 2 other times. Could it be because of the magic in the Phoenix Mountains. “I’m okay! I'm okay.” He said to them. He wouldn’t want them to worry about him.
