Personality: Jabril’s kindness is reserved; he smiles often and he laughs with serenity, but he will never talk about anything deeper than superficial conversations, ceremonial ruminations. He is not shallow or trite, he will just never gift anyone with the privilege of his confidence and it is apparent to everyone he meets; on the outside, he exudes a definiteness, a self-assuredness tainted with cold distance. This steely self-confidence, sometimes mistaken for simple arrogance by the less decisive, is actually a mask for a deeply introverted person--a defense mechanism against an extroverted world. However, his innate ability to deeply empathize with those he meets is hidden away from the earth as a result. Few people know of how emphatically Jabril can feel or how deeply forbearance is rooted into his character. He is the type of person that can sit wordlessly and listen intently to the troubles of other people, his silence inviting others to fill the quiet space with their worries. But he will never give anyone the benefit of knowing what’s behind his warm ebony eyes.
However, underlying Jabril’s patience, is a rational and analytical nature. He is never one to give way to the passions of his feelings; he ruthlessly applies the criterion "Does it work?" to everything from his own efforts to the prevailing social norms. This in turn give Jabril an unusual independence of mind, freeing him from the constraints of authority, convention, or sentiment for its own sake. When Jabril has determined that something doesn’t work, his deep forbearance comes to an abrupt end as he has no patience for archaic things.
In general, Jabril doesn’t work well with other people and he isn’t made to lead. His value of perfectionism and disregard for authority come into play, as he is unsparing of both himself and the others on a project. Anyone considered to be "slacking," including superiors, will lose his respect -- and will generally be made aware of this; if need be Jabril will take it upon himself to implement critical decisions without consulting his colleagues. His only saving grace in the leadership department is that he is scrupulous and even-handed about recognizing the individual contributions that have gone into a project, and he has a gift for seizing opportunities which others might not even notice.
Jabril’s cold analytics and his deep capacity for empathy might seem at odds, but they converge within him to produce a very unconventional sense of justice. In Jabril’s mind, justice and mercy are not exclusive; they are independent variables that sometimes align with each other and at other times, are at odds. Jabril’s empathy gives him a deep consciousness and sensitivity to injustice, but his rational nature allows him to kill off his consciousness when he deems that sacrifices must be made for the greater good. Indeed, he is not above using less scrupulous methods to get what he wants and he is a master of subterfuge; not everyone is entitled to the truth, they must work for it.
In battle, Jabril is patient and intelligent. He prepares extensively and likes to keep hidden away until he can find an opportune moment to strike. With that being said, he never fights the enemy on their terms; he shies away from altercation until he can be assured that he will emerge victorious. Even when he is caught unprepared, he is crafty enough to even the odds.
Likes:
- Romance/Sex- This is the only time Jabril lets anyone be a part of himself. When he is loved, he loves freely in return, succumbing to his passions. In a way, making love is a release from himself; his relentless emotional barriers can be exhausting as sometimes all he wants is to have a relationship deeper than shallow conversation with someone else.
- Music- Even though Jabril is an introvert, he doesn’t like silence except in very specific conditions. Listening to music gives him a background for his introspection and it gives him an avenue to connect with other people--through their music. It lets him lose himself in his emotions when he is alone, but it still gives him the illusion that someone is keeping him company as he embarks on his emotional journey.
- Fashion- Jabril loves all art, but above all he loves fashion. His body is his canvas, and his clothes and accessories are his paintbrushes. Just like all art, he seeks to connect to people through his fashion; his clothes speak for him and allude to his personality. They allude to his thoughts and his feelings.
Dislikes:
- Small talk/Idle chat- Jabril is a master of shallow conversations, but he has no patience for fake, ceremonial niceties. In general, he just wishes that everyone be direct with him so he can save himself time and fake smiles.
- Not being busy- As a general rule, Jabril wants to keep busy so no one will bother him.
- Trends- Being into fashion, Jabril absolutely abhors trends. He hates how they come and go and he hates that they shift attention from the true purpose of fashion--to be yourself. Trends encourage laziness and they add nothing substantial to a person.
Motivations:
- Shame- Mistakes in the past provide a powerful catalyst for Jabril. His shame is greatest asset and his ultimate weakness. He overcompensates for his perceived deficiencies by trying to be perfect, but in the process he deprives himself of the joy of human company.
- Illness- Jibril almost died to a slow and painful illness as a teenager. The illness completely drained him of energy and made him susceptible to horrible infections. But the illness wasn’t the worst part about his experience. The worst part was the treatment for the illness. Invasive toxins were pumped into his body that made him clench his bed rails as sharp pains attacked his spine. Poisons like slimy yellow fire that unsettled his stomach for days robbed him of his precious pride. He will never be left undignified again.
- Ambition- Jabril doesn’t know what he wants to do. It is foolish to ask someone who is 20 years old what he wants to do with his life. Despite that fact however, Jabril still pushes himself to be the best that he can be. He has resolved that if he is gonna be anywhere in life, it will be at the top.
Fears:
- Death- Jabril doesn’t fear death in the conventional sense. He fears the unreasonability of death. He fears how arbitrarily it collects it victims. He doesn’t want to die before he is able to achieve all he wants and become the best he can be.
- Apathy- Jabril can’t stand apathy and he can’t stand oppression. To him they are both one and the same. However, apathy is easier for people to feel than hate and it also harder to combat. He fears a world where apathy is rampant to the injustices happening around it because he knows that world is lost.
- Katsaridaphobia- Because cockroaches are nasty, quick, and shiny. Nuff said. *shudders*

Appearance: Jabril takes great care of himself. Some call him high maintenance and that probably is true. His slender frame is complimented by an athletic build, his primed muscles seemingly dressed in soft and flawless skin. His hands are elegant, with nails neatly cut, buffed to a shine, and a silver band set with a black opal adorns the ring finger on his left hand. His legs are long and shapely, ending with feet supple and soft from the daily application of creams and good hygiene. Jabril’s face is heavily contoured with high cheekbones and full, defined lips. His heavy eyebrows are styled and shaped to frame his deep set eyes and his nose is small and round. His teeth are small and white, but he has unusually large canines. A small black hoop pierces his left nostril accompanied by a small black stud next to it. His clothes are simple, but stylish with a low cut, slim, cream tunic revealing his well defined collar bones. A small brown rope is tied over the tunic, around his waist. His pants are brown and slim fit; they are rolled up at his ankles, revealing an intricate black and cream pattern on the inside of his pants. Simple, black, leather loafers with a small heel cover his feet.
