-The Abandoned Cabin area, midnight-
Wearing her navy blue outfit with Glowstick in her left cargo pants pocket, Saint Sinner Valentine slung across her right shoulder, and SHG-IV Smart Glasses on her face, Diana stood about 100 meters from the namesake building of the region in a clearing with woods twenty meters away on both sides of her. The area's layout had changed since her last mission here, which was well over a year ago. Tonight's mission was a simple retrieval mission, but in a slight twist on the usual routine she was not rescuing a person, but an item.
A day ago an amateur explorer from Magnolia Town named Brian Harrelson had ventured here on a dare from a few of his friends and was tasked with entering the Abandoned Cabin and taking a "selfie" outside of it, then one inside of it. He had completed the dare but had unwittingly drawn the attention of the area's zombies. Lacking a weapon and having no experience with facing zombies, he was forced to flee to avoid being swarmed and bitten by the mass of undead. In his rush to escape he had left his iLac in the cabin and with it the proof he needed to prove he had completed the dare... now it was up to Diana to retrieve it and bring it back to him.
Diana walked to within 75 meters of the cabin and stopped to search for targets. Diana looked left, then looked right. By doing so a wave of target markers splashed across her Smart Glasses. She counted at least thirty zombies shambling around the cabin, but she had no idea how many were inside of it. She would find out once she had cleared out the undead outside the cabin and went to collect the dropped iLac.
The huntress set Saint Sinner Valentine on the ground next to her right foot, brought out Silent Hunter, and picked out her first target, which was a zombie in green hunter's garb with an empty quiver of arrows on his back and a large chunk bitten out of his right shoulder. She slowly and carefully aimed at his head, then fired a suppressed shot that punched through his forehead just as he turned to "face" her with milky white eyes fixed in a thousand-yard stare. The former hunter fell to the ground and did not move again.
Diana picked out her next target, which was a female adventurer clad in chainmail who was missing their entire left arm and clutching a gleaming steel longsword in her right hand. Diana aimed for her forehead and fired, dropping her in a single shot. There were only twenty-eight more zombies to go before the immediate area was "safe" enough for her to approach the cabin. Diana lowered Silent Hunter and looked around her to make sure that she was not being stalked by zombies who were in the woods around her. Her Smart Glasses did not pick up any new threats, so the huntress resumed the task of clearing out the zombies in the immediate area so that there was a clear path to the cabin.
-Twenty minutes later-
The last of the zombies fell half a meter to the right of the Abandoned Cabin with a hole in its left temple. Diana's task had been delayed by the bad luck of some zombies shambling behind the cabin before she could shoot them, but since they were not smart enough to realize that they were being sniped from afar they broke cover after a minute as they shambled mindlessly towards the woods to the right. Diana waited a minute or two to see if any more zombies had shambled behind the cabin, but after a short wait she did not see any more of the, so she dispelled Silent Hunter, picked up Saint Sinner Valentine, and carefully walked the remaining 75 meters to the cabin.
-Ten minutes later, outside the Abandoned Cabin-
Diana approached the front door of the cabin and opened it carefully with her left hand while holding Saint Sinner Valentine in her right hand. Inside she found nine trapped zombies who must have gotten caught in the building when Brian fled for his life. They were oblivious to her presence, so she set down Saint Sinner Valentine just inside the door, brought out her Suppressed Handgun, and picked off the first zombie who shambled into sight, a man clad in woodland camo with an orange safety vest and a large chunk of the left side of his neck missing. Diana shot him once through the right temple and he fell to the ground.
-Inside the Abandoned Cabin-
Diana cleaned out the rest of the zombies in about two minutes with carefully aimed headshots. Once the last one was dead on the floor Diana began to search for an iLac on the floor. Diana carefully walked into the cabin and found an orange iLac lying on the floor in the cabin's top left corner. The blonde walked over to it and scooped it up with her left hand. She examined it for damage but did not find any; there was not even a sign that it had been dropped on the wooden floor. The only problem with the orange iLac was that its battery life was at 65%, but that was nothing a quick recharge could not fix.
The huntress flipped it over and on the back of it was two white stickers of the letters "B.H.", undoubtedly for Brian Harrelson. Diana put the iLac in her empty right side cargo pocket and grabbed Saint Sinner Valentine from its resting place in the corner close to the door before walking out of the cabin. The toughest part of the job was now finished. Now she needed to get to Magnolia Town and return the iLac to its owner before the job was truly complete.
