Double Trouble
Teresa was pacing through the amusement park, grumbling loudly to herself as she heading in the direction of the giant ferry wheel. “I swear next time I will tie those two to a concrete block and drag them across. Or maybe nail them to a post... Or glue them together… maybe just spotweld them together… oh or I could freeze them in time… or-” She was muttering loudly, waves of purple magic cascading of her as her mood had turned sour. The ground around her was slightly trembling as she was stomping her way across the grounds. The crowd around her had begun to disperse. “I am too old and tired to be treated this way by you!” She bellowed loudly as she stuck her fist in the air towards the little boy that was taunting her in the distance.
It had been going on all day. She had been hired to take two kids to the amusement park. A task that seemed at first easy and profitable, even upon meeting the kids. At the side of the mother they seemed to be two perfectly behaved angels. Hair nicely parted, a halo above their head and the cutest smile.
Of course that had not lasted very long. They had not been in the park for five minutes when the halo fell off and red horns and a devils tail grew on the blasted punks. The three of them had been nicely in wait for the childrens rollercoaster, when suddenly one of them had decided it wanted to go into the grown up version. Fast as a squirrel on red bull the two had dashed of before she could even comprehend what had happened. The rest of the day had mostly consisted of her cursing and chasing the two kids or merely cursing. Had there been a swear jar present, it would probably be overflowing at this point. Turns out that after living a long, long time, you learn a lot of swear words. Also a few surfaced that actually surprised her and some she had completely forgotten, in languages she had forgotten she once spoke. It was amazing the things she recalled in these moments of blind annoyance.
Had it not been for the fact that it was all about small children, she would probably already have ended this and delivered the corpses back to HQ. However this was a paid job and children…
For a moment she stopped dead in her tracks, ignoring the taunting gestures of the punks and went over the situation. She could easily return without the brats and declare failure. Sure there would be some flack, but she believed she could survive and not be kicked out. However she was almost sure she would not be getting paid, which meant… which meant… no booze! “OKTHATSISITYOUPUNKS!” She said with a devious tone in her voice as she drew her claymore and her silver eyes got a golden glow in them. “I will teach you to call I wanna, I wanna, all the time before running off.” She bellowed as a blue glimmer covered her sword before she threw the sword with lightning speed towards the boy. Just before it was about to hit her, she linked herself to the sword, teleported directly to it and grabbed the boy as she dashed past him.
Needless to say a few hours later she delivered the punks safe and sound back at the guild. Aside from several large lumps on their head of course, for which she was subsequently docked. Still the money was enough to cover drinks for an evening and begin making a down payment for the damage she did to the amusement park.
“That is the last time I work with kids…” She said with a sigh as she hopped on one of the bar chairs at the headquarters and leaned forward to grab herself a beer. “I told you! No! No! No!” A voice suddenly said loudly from the other side of the bar, followed by several empty bottles flying her way. “But I wanna! I wanna! I Wanna!” She exclaimed playfully to the bartender as she gracefully caught all the bottles and gently put them back on the bar.
