Job Description:
The client is dead. The reason you are taking on this job is that you are curious. You have no idea if this job is beyond C-Rank jobs or not.
A strange mysterious "thing" seems to be in the haunted castle causing havoc more than usual. You believe that ghosts of monsters are causing it. Stop it immediately.
The only way to put the spirits of the monsters to rest is through the use of salt. Any form of magic will be not very effective.

Rustling wind that could be mistaken for the crying of lost souls, the howling of wolves echoing from what could be miles away, and a darkness wrapping it all together. This was definitely the location.

As the young boy, dressed in his hooded coat as usual, progressed up the hill towards the castle, he was shaking. Now, most would think it was out of fear. Naturally, of course, as this was the very essence of terrifying: a huge, apparently haunted castle out in the middle of nowhere at night.

But no. Reiz was shaking for a different reason.

"...I must make sure to document every corner of this place." he thought to himself with determination. After everything he had heard, he was ashamed he hadn't come here earlier. It would prove to be an interesting night; or so he hoped, because he'd end up more than a little disappointed if this was all some hoax.

Most would seek glory in the discoveries found here, but he only came for the knowledge. There would definitely be something new to contribute to his notes here...

"Aha... the secrets hidden here... they'll all be mine to know soon enough~!"

He began writing things down in a notebook he had revealed from an inner breast pocket on his coat, producing a pen from seemingly nowhere.

"HAUNTED CASTLE PHENOMENA" it read in extra bolded letters.

However, his delight was soon cut short when he heard footsteps approaching closely from behind. Who else would be here at this hour besides him?

He readied himself on the occasion that the person would prove to be less than friendly. As the person, or people, drew closer, he put the notebook away and donned a more serious expression, hiding most of the upper part of his face under his hood, and his hands in the pockets of his pants.

The mist shrouding the surroundings of the infamous haunted castle sure adds up to its creepiness. One can never know what danger awaits in the thick mist, with unlimited possibilities of hazards it contains. That night was full of creepers, hooting owls, howling wolfs, you name it. Surely it would send chills down the spine of a weak-spirited mages, pretending to be so daring to come even near the haunted landmark. The mist alone is enough to cause fear, the full moon making everything seems.. mystical. Ghostly to be exact. Surely it would be an interesting night to investigate any paranormal activities in the Haunted Castle, but the question would be one and only; Are you daring enough? Not even pretending, hoaxing nor acting would help someone to get over his or her fears.

What could be creepier than thick shrouding mist? Echoing footsteps from inside it of course. The figure would be unseen, only sound waves reaching one’s frightful ears. “Damn, what’s with going to such places at times like these?” A loud, annoyed voice killed the natural horror. A man, blue haired, stepped on a wooden stick, breaking it after. “Man, at least check over before accepting any missions, Redt.” Next to him was something flying. It wasn’t a bat, nor a bird. It was.. a cat? Looking like an exceed, the red cat named Redt would surely be often mistaken as an exceed. “Sorry Giyo, I was just too hyped. We haven’t done any mission for ages.” The cat couldn’t help but to apologize, but still hyped anyway. “Fine.. I’ll just do this thing.” Giyo, or such the man’s name, scratched his head, considering things couldn’t be helped. As they talked, the two saw a figure, hooded with hands in the pocket. “Yo! You a mage?” Calm and relaxed, Giyo and his feline partner are famous for their laid-back personality, sometimes leading to accidents along with their apparent idiocy.

Aria arrived at the haunted castle. The mist veiling the whole place made it look like a scene from a horror movie, not to mention the big full moon illuminating the crooked from off the castle, making it appear alive and ready to eat anyone who dares enter. She knows its not of her business, the client was dead after all. But his sudden dead intrigued her. The flier she got was a bit cryptic, it only said "Help needed at the haunted castle" and nothing more. Then when she decided to go to the client and inquire, she found out that the man died suddenly and quite mysteriously. Normally she wont care, b ut something told her that something doesn't add up and with her ability to interact with the dead, perhaps she can shed some light on the mystery.

The didnt wear her usual get up, the long cape and the suit. She wore regular jeans a black shirt but she wore the mask that she had recently acquired from a mission. She knew there were no living beings in the castle but it was best to be safe. Aria entered the castle without much trouble. Well if you don't consider meeting a ghost every minute or so troublesome. Most of them are would stare at her but since she had the mask on they would just pass by thinking she was just another phantom. Oh yeah, by the way, she wasn't walking, she was hovering. Another perks of having her magic is the ability to hover at will. The problem is, people might mistake her for a ghost if she ever bumps into one.

As she continued her way into the castle, she noticed the air to get thicker, as if some kind of presence was affecting the air about. She also noticed the ghosts she meets to be zombified, staring blankly as if they were under a trance. She was about to approach them when she heard voices. Ghosts usually talk telepathically so that means there are other people nearby. Curious, she follows the source of the voices and that's when she saw two men and a cat.

The boy was rather sloppy in his demeanor, at least in Reiz's opinion. Informal in his speech, as well... but the cat he had with him was interesting. Red, and it looked... off. Reiz took offense to the boy's casual greeting, especially in this kind of environment, and sighed.

"A mage? No, no, you have it all wrong. I'm no mage, I'm more of a... researcher, if you will. An observer more than anything. Why, I'd-"

He cut himself off to avoid digging even deeper into his arrogant personality. Maybe he was being too harsh at first glance. After all, he's been surprised before.

"...Never mind. Are you here, as well, to explore the beauty and magnificence of this place? Aha, you don't even need to answer that. Of course you are. Why else would you come all the way out here? Surely not for a nightly stroll."

He was quick with his words, and wasn't even stopping to consider the true reasoning of the boy.

Reiz then caught a glimpse of something in the corner of his eye.

Upon further inspection, he came to the conclusion he did indeed see something. A girl, not too far from the location of where Reiz and the boy currently were. He was more intrigued by this girl already than he was at the boy's first appearance. Merely from how mysterious she was.

"You, over there. Do you plan on joining us? Or are you just going to stay over there?" he pointed in her general direction, his eyes focused on her. Was she hostile, and the first sign of something mysterious going on here, or merely another curious traveler...?

Giyo observed as the boy looked at him, probably to do a quick analyse about him. Redt seemed to be realizing that too. Nevertheless, he finally responded. He was not a mage, but a researcher. But why in the world would a researcher come to such places at such times? Maybe to find out more about a specific subject, but not that Giyo really cares. “Well, your answer seems legit.” With Redt adding a ‘yeah!’ after his statement. Giyo then giggled, the researching asked something, hoping Giyo was not there that night just to have a night stroll. “Well, not really night stroll, but a forced invitation by this damned thing.” Joking, Giyo teased the floating winged cat beside him. “Hey! I’m not a damned thing!” Irritated, Redt flailed on Giyo’s face, adding to his entertainment.

The researcher seemed to have something to tell, but was cut short. Giyo and Redt turned their glances at where the researcher turned his, only to see a figure at a distance. Shrouded by the thick mist, Giyo gave up, annoyed at the fact that his sight was blocked by such troublesome mist. “Damn I give up. Who are youuuu??” rising his voice, Redt quickly responded with a ‘shh!’. “Too loud, Giyo. Too loud.” Hoping the researcher won’t get annoyed by that absent-minded nature of Giyo’s, Redt continued looking at the misty figure.

“Wait, a girl!?” Redt was shocked at his sudden finding, hiding behind Giyo as he shouted. “What the.. a ghost? Man this’s interesting!” Bumping his fists together, the hyped Giyo approached the figure slowly, which proved to be a girl. Green hair, black jeans, some casual fashioned girl stood upon the covers of the mist. “Meh.. what a disappointment.” Giyo sighed, his guess was wrong. Redt greeted her anyway; “Heyyooo! What are you doing here, Miss?” With that usually cheerful kitty tone of his, of course.

The girl was stunned, she had been spotted by the younger boy and was shouting straight at her. Whens he saw the other guy approach her with his feline companion, she was ready to act defensively, who would wander aimlessly in the haunted castle at night? Well aside from her of course. She was about to turn her back at them and just phase sift so they might think she is just one the resident ghost of the castle when the cute little cat called out to her and said “Heyyooo! What are you doing here, Miss?”. She doesnt know if its because of the cute and adorable look on the cats eyes of that it reminded her of someone she used to work with but it stopped her from leaving and made her decide to approach the group.

"Hello." Aria bowed then continue on her speech. "I was merely strolling around, hoping to find clues on something." There was a short pause, as if thinking if she should tell these men what she knew or not, but her good will won so she decided to tell them anyway. "I was suppose to go on a job a few days back, however when I got to the client, I found that he had passed away already. What piqued my curiosity as the fact that the man died before I got there and that the mission parameters were vague, it just said help needed at the Haunted castle." After her explanation she looked at the two guys, reading their expression. "Sorry to bother you, I didnt mean to dump useless information on you." There was a brief moment of awkwardness so she decided to break the ice "Oh by the way my name is Aria, Aria Seyfried. How about you guys, whats your name and what are you doing here?"  

This was sure a strange sight. These people looked much too innocent to be out at this time, but it was what it was.

The client had passed away, had they? Well, they had left quite the troublesome mystery behind that required solving, that was for sure.

"That was one of the rumors I had heard on the way here. Of course, not that I care about this person at all. I just came to see if this castle can live up to all the talk circulating it."

She had begun to introduce herself, almost before Reiz could get any time to think on this turn of events. Would these two prove useful, or should he just run ahead right now...? Ah, but he had to at least introduce himself first.

"While I don't like giving my name out to strangers, I'll make an exception here. My name is Reiz. A pleasure, I'm sure."

He made a small bow. The excitement of exploring this place further had gotten the better of him, and put him into a happier mood than normal. Researching the strange magic and otherwise supernatural occurrences was his greatest passion, after all.

If anything, these people could contribute greatly by being human shields while he goes about his expedition! They could block him from the vile creatures that haunt this place while he observes the moves of both them and the residents of this place. It would be like killing two birds with one stone!

...But then he realized that they would never agree to such a proposal, and vanquished the thought from his mind.

"So, shall we continue our way in? I'm certain that this will be a great night, for all sorts of things! Heheheh."

He turned away from them, and again pulled out his notebook and a pen, and began writing furiously in it once more.
