    Character History – Kunai Nightingale

Kunai had the perfect childhood. She had two loving parents, and eventually a baby sister, Kini. As far as she knew, life was pretty good.
One day, a demon from her childhood nightmares visited her. He told her that unless she sacrifices her happiness, her family would be killed.
Day by day, Kunai’s life worsened.
First, her parents rejected her for her sexuality . . .
Then, they refused to let her have any contact with her sister.
They began to not allow her to leave the house and eventually kept her in the basement.
Finally, they began ignoring her altogether, acting as if their only daughter was Kini.
Kunai was about 13 when the demon returned. The only happiness left inside of her was the memory of her parents loving her.
So he butchered her family from the inside out.
That was the first day she used magic, her Hell’s Lullaby form took over and two enormous black wings arose from her shoulder blades and she began to fight the demon.
Soon, a bitterly defeated Kunai dragged her exhausted body over to her father who was hanging over his wife, crying. She attempted to touch her mother’s face but, with his last breath, he shouted, “No!’ and pushed her away.
She sat in Nightingale blood and tears.
Kunai held Kini, her sobbing echoed for miles, attracting a wizard named Roy Revere.
Roy watched Kunai for a while, keeping a close eye on the demon that menacingly watched Kunai. He made a deal with her that he would return their souls in return for one last sacrifice. She decided that she would give up her family’s memories of Kunai, making them forget of her entire existence.
The contract said that if Kunai were to have any contact with her family again, her soul would be taken and, since her parents were waking up, Roy took Kunai back to his home.
There, he trained her in advanced swordsman skill while his sister, Eri, taught her how to play the “Stringed Katana” which was a black and white electric guitar that had the ability to transform into a katana and create different spells when strummed.
In an unfortunate turn of events, the demon returned on Kunai’s 18th birthday, massacring her masters…her new family who she had come to love. She once again went into her Hell’s Lullaby state and brought the demon to his knees, but Eri uttered with the last of her energy, “There are no bad people, just bad magic.”
She let the demon free and has not seen it since. Kunai aslo continued living her masters’ mountainside villa, burying them in the alley between them. (She also named the mountains after her masters.)
From there, Kunai trained for a month or so more by herself and then went to Magnolia to join a guild and make a new family.
She did so, and claimed it to be the best thing that ever happened to her.
