Post by Sir Leonard 17th August 2019, 11:40 pm

Leo has found himself once again in the streets of Era. The sights are indeed different from his previous visit, albeit for the same reason: a job. Yes, another job, for he had finally relented at the thought that this might be the only way to get reacquainted to the world and country he has left behind all those years ago. That this is the only way to not be left out in this ever changing world, and for Lina to be kept fed. Because even though he was able to save up money from before, he did not think it enough to raise a 10 year old daughter who still needs to go to school and learn about the magic she has picked up that is related to name and legacy she has decided upon.

And the reason why Era was different was although the city is well maintained and clean, he can see the fear in people's eyes as he walks past them. He can also feel their stares as this old swordsman walks the streets with his robe on with his battle garbs underneath and his face under the shade of his hood. But he does not judge their stares, or their fears for he is indeed but a stranger in these parts looking rather suspicious, and with the recent string of murders plaguing the city, it was indeed a rather bad day for a suspicious stranger to be walking around.

Perhaps the only reason he had not been accused of being a murder, and thrown various fruits and vegetables, or ganged up by all of them all at once, was surprisingly not because of the huge weapon, almost as tall he is wrapped around in silk on his back. But it was because for every few meters he walks on the streets, and city guards or officials see him and try to apprehend him, he would simply flash a piece of paper that was in his left hand. The piece of paper in question was the job sheet posted on the request board back in Fairy Tail. It acted as a waiver that he is indeed here to solve the cases for the authorities. They even asked if he would like them to take him to the headquarters but he simply raised his right hand slightly and shook his head, gesturing that there was no need for that, going on his own way afterwards.

Finally, after another few minutes of walking within the gloomy city, Leo had arrived at the headquarters for the local government. There he was greeted by an official who had asked for his name to which he simply and stoically replied "Leo." not giving away his full first name and even last name. Finally, he was debriefed  of the dire situation and was asked that there be no severe damages to the city has their investigation and hunt goes along to which a simply nod was his reply.

"A member of the authorities would be coming along with me for this one correct?" he asked.
"Yes, and you would be working with some of the best. Be grateful for this opportunity.  Please wait for him here." he replied to which Leo simply lowered his head and proceeded to sit on a nearby bench.

Era had gone through a lot in the past year and frankly, the fact that a new string of murders was popping up was just more depressing. After the assault on the city that had wiped out nearly ninety percent of the Rune Knights and several of its citizens, they had done their best to prepare different defensive strategies in case such an event occurred again. For the most part, they had done a fantastic job cleaning up the streets but every now and then, someone adapted to the system and was able to counter it. This new killer living in their midst was no different. While the Rune Knights were certainly capable of handling the case themselves, it did create a new opportunity. Since its reformation with Serilda in charge, the Knights were seeking a more distinguished and open relationship with the local guilds, opening allied pathways that had been lying blank for too long.

So when there was a chance to work with another guild on a job, the opportunity was seized. Mythal had been asked to oversee the investigation into the recent string, as they needed someone who could move through the civilians without an official uniform. There was also the fact that he had been regularly and consistently studying dark wizards and cultists, looking for links between the one that had bred him and others he’d heard about. No one wanted to say that the murders were tied to a rumored group of dark mages within the city but the whispers were enough to get his attention. He’d agreed and had been relieved to see that the other wizard that had taken the sign up had been from Fairy Tail. Though he didn’t recognize the name, he was happy to know he’d be working aside someone from his former guild.

He was just finishing up a few notes in a report when one of the official representatives from the Magic Council knocked on his door and entered. "General Ragnos, the wizard from Fairy Tail has arrived and is awaiting you down near the entryway. His name is Leo and I believe he is ready to begin your investigation,” the man was quick to the word and a bit snooty as well.

“On my way,” Mythal replied shortly, finishing his sentence and then closing the file. He quickly shuffled the documents away into his desk and locked it before he picked up his equipment and headed for the door. It was there that the representative remained, eager to get one last bit of information out.

"General Ragnos, this has already been relayed to Fairy Tail’s representative but the Council wishes to remind you that destruction to the properties of Era are strictly prohibited. Our city has suffered enough in the past twelve months,” the man said, as curtly as someone with a chip could.

“Thanks, I really needed the reminder as I was plannin’ on breakin’ a few city blocks while I hunted down the murderers,” the God Slayer said coolly, his tone unwavering and unimpressed. The Council goons had become more and more common with each passing day, looking over shoulders and reciting reminders from the councilors themselves. To say it was annoying was to put it mildly.

As he passed the representative, Lux materialized into existence next to Mythal, walking backwards and facing the blustered man. “I’m gonna give you a 5 for intimidation and a 2 for peppiness. Not great pal but I’m sure you can do better, keep working on it,” the Seal of Light called back to the representative, delighting in the look of shock on his face. People were still flabbergasted whenever the Lightbringer decided to make an entrance.

Mythal decided to pay the Seal no mind for the moment, focusing on the job at hand. He made his way down through the belly of the Rune Knight headquarters and across the walkway that led to the Council building. Finally he found himself walking out to daylight and into the main entryway. There stood a man, clad in a robe that covered his face. Mythal could remember the days when he walked around in the same manner, especially when the sun was out. He walked right up to the man. “Leo, right?” he asked as he came to a stop. “Mythal Ragnos from the Rune Knights. Glad to have someone from my former guild comin’ along. Have you been briefed?”

“And has anyone told you the dark and gloomy look is so last season?” Lux added, chuckling at his own joke.

Mythal waved him off. “Ignore this idiot, he’s just a pest.”

Sinners [Job: Sir Leonard and Mythal Ragnos] Empty Re: Sinners [Job: Sir Leonard and Mythal Ragnos]

Post by Sir Leonard 19th August 2019, 9:41 am

Everything was quiet around Leo with the wind occasionally howling, considering the height this building is on, that brushed on the exterior of his hood. Thus, he only felt the cloth on his face instead of the gentle breeze. It had been too long since he felt a strong wind against his face, and he was afraid feeling it might make him relive memories. Memories of a... far better, simpler life... though the word simpler did make him chuckle a little bit. He thought it foolish that his life at any point since he turned 15  had the privilege of being simple. Because it didn't. While patiently waiting on the bench for the Rune Knight's assigned investigator, Leo took a quick peek at this new device everyone in Magnolia had and had been talking about  called an iExceed. Apparently its this little handy device you could use to exchange thoughts to other people whose numbers you have acquired. Lina had gotten herself and Leo one for each of them to use so that they can still keep in touch whenever he leaver for a dangerous job he cannot bring her to. Leo had only begun to explore and inspect its features as he mostly uses it to call Lina, while his daughter on the other hand can send him these messages. Which, upon inspection, there was no new messages from her. Maybe she was still in school? Playing with friends? Reading a book? Who knew? Lina is unpredictable at times after all.

Soon after placing the device for socializing back into his pocket, he saw a man approach him, with another being, not flesh beside him. A spirit? Perhaps that was his magic? The spirit in question's face was... interesting to say the least, and he tried to wonder no further into it and decided to focus his attention to the powerful man in front of him. The man called out his name. This must be the Rune Knight he was waiting for. Such power exudes from him, and clearly means business, though he expected no less. He had always placed the Rune Knights in high regard. He respected them for the work they do for Fiore, keeping the peace and all. He suddenly remembered a very respected rival he had from within the institution, that rival's blade work was just as impressive as his but, he believes it unnecessary to compare them to each other for they favored very different styles.

Leo stood up straight and tall in attention as he knight got near, asking for his name and introducing him as soon as he came to a stop. Apparently, he was a former member of Fairy Tail which impressed Leo very much and filled him with pride. One of the Fairies had become a proper arm of justice, a total force for change, but he kept it all to himself as he found it rude to let out a smile that, in the man in front of him would think, was for no apparent reason. He might think that Leo is disrespecting him, which was never a thing that crossed his mind. And before he could release words from his mouth he had just open to speak, the being beside him spoke, regarding his attire.

Yes, Leo supposed that this really isn't the proper attire for such occasions. There is no need to be mysterious or hide from the government. Because, let's face it, the government will find out sooner or later. They're the government after all. Furthermore, he supposed there was no harm in taking it off. The man who had introduced himself as Mythal Ragnos had already seen him up close and had mentioned his name. Perhaps he doesn't know who he is? Perhaps it was safe to take off the hood after all. And despite the knight telling him to ignore the apparent idiot, Leo obliged to take of his hood.

Bowing his head and placing his hands on each side of the hood to pull back and showing his face, Leo simply smiled and remarked "No worries, sir. The man does have a point. It's a bright day after all." starring with pride at Mythal for a few seconds before clearing his throat and adding "Yes, sir. I am Leo of Fairy Tail, at your service." bowing before the younger man before him, after he had stood up straight once more, he added "Indeed, I have been briefed, sir. And it would be my pleasure, and Fairy Tail's to assist in the Rune Knight's investigation of these murders."

After speaking in the most respectable manner he could, Leo simply stepped aside, sweeping his foot across the floor and added "Shall we begin, sir? I shall be with you every step of the way as you lead on." after which he bowed once more, but this time, he had his arms gesture that he go first. Keeping this position up until whenever the Rune Knight has decided to move, or tell him something else.

Leo wasn’t quite what Mythal was expecting but not in a bad light. He was older than most other Fairy Tail members but still had the look of someone who was used to daily adventuring. Even with the hood covering most of his face, he could see the gruffness in the bottom half of his face. Of course, Lux couldn’t help but remark about the state that Leo had arrived. The God Slayer shot the Seal a dark look, which went completely ignored. But it seemed that the Fairy Tail wizard took it in great stride, simply smiling and removing the hood from the top of his head and remarking about the day.

“Eesh, maybe you should have kept it on, gramps,” the Lightbringer said with a sharp inhale, trying his best not to laugh.

Mythal would give anything to have the ability to hit the Seal of Light right then. He’d gotten a lot mouthy lately. “I apologize about my idiot spirit. He lacks any ability to moderate his thoughts.” As Mythal listened to the man expressed his enjoyment to take part in the job, Mythal couldn’t help but notice the very formal approach he took to the Darkness King. He still wasn’t used to his own men calling him sir, let alone an entirely different wizard from his former guild. He held his tongue until Leo suggested they move along. “Yeah, let’s get to it. Don’t feel like ya gotta call me ‘sir’ or nothin’. Mythal is just fine. I’m really not formal at all,” the General explained easily, chuckling awkwardly. The more he was treated as an equal, the better.

Mythal led the way, with a snickering Lux trailing behind them. As he seemed keen on just sitting back and observing, the Darkness Slayer decided to utterly ignore him. Instead he turned his attention to Leo. “Sorry I called you Leo, I tend to give nicknames without even thinkin’ about it. Do you prefer Leonard or is Leo fine?” He had only realized shortly after that simply calling him Leo may have been disrespectful and wanted to quickly adjust that, in case he had offended. He did have an ability to occasionally say the wrong thing right from the start.

Once Leo had clarified which name he preferred, the Darkness King would keep it in mind for the future. With that out of the way, he refocused on the task at hand. “I’m not jumpin’ for joy to hear about these murders. After the attack on Era some months ago, the last thing these people need is more fear. I’d thought we’d rooted out the remainin’ agents from the dark guild that attacked. Maybe we did and this is some kind of imitator.” Whatever it was, it wasn’t good. And solving the crimes sooner rather than later would be better.

Mythal led them down into the city, blending in with the crowd easily. With the Darkness King lacking any significant uniform, he found it rather easy to blend in when he truly needed to. His moment of fame as a Rising Star had ended shortly after the attack on Era, as the Magic Council didn’t believe he needed the title along with General. That was fine by him; he was more than happy to simply be an agent working in the background. As they slid through the crowd, Mythal turned to Leo. “Most of the attacks were centered on the south side of the city,” he whispered to Leo, making sure to keep his voice low enough so that people passing by didn’t get startled. He nodded towards an alleyway and dipped down into it, freeing them from the cloying river of civilians.

Now a bit more comfortable, Mythal continued to walk ahead. “Normally I’d leave this kinda thing to one of my men but… the opportunity to work with Fairy Tail again caught my interest. That and most of the murders were inflicted by darkness magic. I have a… fair bit of understanding when it comes to that brand of magic.” Truthfully, it was his entire magical armory that was made up of darkness magic. That gave him a slight edge against the murderers, should they happen to find them during this investigation.

“So Leo… mind if I ask how long you’ve been with Fairy Tail? I don’t remember seein’ you anywhere durin’ my time there.”

Sinners [Job: Sir Leonard and Mythal Ragnos] Empty Re: Sinners [Job: Sir Leonard and Mythal Ragnos]

Post by Sir Leonard 20th August 2019, 5:47 am

Though as disturbing as the apparent spirit Mythal was accompanied with, Leo had taken the Rune Knight's advice to simply ignore him. But deep down he quite enjoyed the banter between the spirit and the mage that though they were not, shall we say, the best of friends, they are companions to one another. They can get the job done whenever it comes down to it. And it was this sort of partnership that made Leo reminisce of another that too shared a partnership with someone. And though their relationship was different than that of Mythal and his spirit, Leo sighed as he remembered a certain blue haired mage and his orange cat with wings...

Leo simply gave Myhtal a nod when he remarked about the spirit that was with him. Perhaps it would be better if he ignored mostly what he had to say as they were simply comments of what he thinks. None of which were helpful so far. And once Leo had finished talking, and bowed, Mythal had immediately led them on their way with Leo following a few inches behind him. As they made their way back to the streets, Mythal had commented regarding on what it was that he ought to be called which soon after followed by an awkward chuckle.

Leo thought it would make him comfortable if he were to chuckle too after him, which he did. But more so because he is finding more and more comfortable with the mage with him, also there is the pride of having a member of Fairy Tail being so humble. Down to earth. Making him feel more and more happy to return home like he did. Not letting them know he was back and who he was meant to Leo that whoever is around Fairy Tail, the values and virtues that were incorporated into it since its foundation is alive in each and every one of them. "Oh. Sure, Mythal, whatever makes things comfortable, right?" he replied as they continued on.

Further down the road, Mythal had also apologized for instantly calling him Leo. While Leo payed it no mind, because Leo does sounds better. Simple. Strong. Stoic. The "nard" does make it sounds more regal, and though it was his appropriate name, Leo makes him sound like a dude you can just call up and do things with. All kinds of things for that matter. However, what did alarm him was the fact that Mythal knew that Leonard was full first name. But then, he thought about it further. Mythal had said Leo's name and he didn't see him any differently. Perhaps he was safe around him. And it's not like they were in the hall for any Fairy Tail brand of ruckus to occur. So maybe this job will go on smoothly after all. "It's alright, Myhtal. Leo is perfect." he replied with a smile, gesturing comfort and that there was no harm done.

After sharing Mythal's concerns regarding the murders Leo's disdain for the criminals grew. Not giving the innocent a break from suffering is something that will not stand with him. What was more troubling was the fact that these could be the work of imitators. Wayward souls who were given a choice, but chose... Poorly. "Whomever they are, we must deal with them quickly. These people deserve peace." he remarked a hint of furry escaped him after founding out that Era had been under siege some months ago.

Being at on the streets once more, Leo had no longer attracted the stares of the civilians like the way he did when he came in earlier. Perhaps it was his hood? Or perhaps it was because he is following a man who was from the city they lived in? Perhaps both? Regardless, it was perfect for their mission as they would not want to attract any attention to themselves. They would not want to be suspicious and stand out as the very perpetrators of the evil deeds could be watching them at this very moment. A possibility that, in Leo's experience, was highly probable which is why Leo kept eyeing their surroundings with his peripherals to look for any suspicious activities, and so far. None.

Mythal then decided they head on down to an alleyway to head towards the city's south side, the place where the murders appeared to be centered around. He nodded in reply as he followed as they headed down so as to make no further sounds. Because if Mythal had to whisper to talk to him as a precaution of not letting anyone know what they were up to, he thought it better not to make a sound.

Now that they were alone in the alleyway, they were able to speak freely. And Mythal expressed himself for taking on a job that were normally were left to one of his subordinates. And Leo was internally glad as Mythal, despite being no longer a Fairy Tail mage, still longed for a chance to be with some of its members. He continued on to say that Darkness magic was used in relation to the murders and that he was well versed when it comes to the subject, and Leo only presumed that he had simply had numerous experiences with dealing with dark mages. This was a thought that made Leo rub his chin in thought. And subtly eye his right shoulder as he was reminded of his own darkness. "I too have some knowledge regarding darkness. It appears each of our institutions have done their homework on who to send." he replied, though in truth, he sent himself because he would very much like the opportunity of working with the Rune Knights again and the chance to end more darkness in this world.

Yes, it would appear Leo and Mythal will get along quite nicely. Until the trillion jewel question was asked. A question regarding Leo's involvement with Fairy Tail. He tried so hard to not reminisce and be a dad, meaning talk about more than what was asked. So he simply replied with "Oh... I've been around since the beginning of the Guild's existence..." but he just couldn't help himself with the feels. "...I still remember digging on the ground and laying that first foundation for the first hall. I actually picked the name Fairy Tail because of one very playful sprite I met before reach Magnolia..." Leo paused with his words for a moment, but still walking close by behind Mythal trying to stop himself from being nostalgic and think of how to simply explain his absence all those years ago. But then... Something happened... That made me had to leave... And wander Earthland...If you don't mind that's all I want to say about not being there while you were a member. I'm sorry, Mythal." he continued. Sadness evident as he tried to recall his past.

Leo it was. Mythal had honestly just assumed that Leo was short for Leonard and had wanted to clarify which was the right name to call the man by. With Leo calling him Mythal, there were all set on what to call one another. And it seemed that Lux couldn’t help but comment on it. “Great. He’s Leo, you’re Mythal and I’m Lux. We all know one another’s name. Lights above, that shouldn’t have been so complicated,” the Lightbringer said with a groan, rolling his eyes.

The Darkness King decided to take a moment to actually address the Seal, as he had a sneaking suspicion what was irking him. “Not a fan of bein’ around darkness magic?”

“I deal with yours every waking day, I don’t need to be around more,” the Seal of Light retorted, clearly not amused.

“Could just do us all a favor and go back to your corner,” Mythal finished his conversation there, choosing to move ahead and go back to ignoring the Seal.

“Bet you’d like that, wouldn’t you? Keep talkin’, smart guy,” Lux grumbled but he didn’t diminish. No, he followed right after the pair, keeping a fair distance behind them. To most that saw Lux, he looked like a normal person most of the time. He certainly had an airiness about him but everything was in sorts. It was only when he chose to levitate or flash in and out of reality that people may be suspicious of him. His body naturally played with the light he so loved and created the illusion. It seemed to only be Mythal that could see through his complexion and see the spiritual form beneath.

It hadn’t used to be like that – he’d just looked like a spirit from the beginning. But over time, it seemed his connection to the world was refreshing itself and he was gaining some of his abilities back. It was a very concerning situation for the Darkness King. He much preferred his key to the Apocalypse running on safe mode and without magic. But that was a concern for another day; it was far more important they try to find the source of the vicious murders. And by the tone Leo took when he spoke of it, it seemed he felt the same way.

As they dipped down the alleyway and out of eyesight, Mythal offhandedly mentioned his former connection to Fairy Tail and the type of magic and, much to his surprise, Leo mentioned he had a fair bit of knowledge when it came to darkness magic as well. The God Slayer glanced back at him and a small smile wormed its way onto his face. “It seems they have.” In the end, he shouldn’t have been surprised. Fairy Tail’s methods often seemed unorthodox but the intent behind it was always punctual and poignant. The fact that a runaway vagabond like him had come all the way to General in the Rune Knights was evidence enough that the independent guild had a certain magic about itself.

And on that subject, Leo revealed quite a shocking truth that actually caused the God Slayer to stop walking. He had been around since the guild’s beginning – not just that but he had been the one to give the guild its famous – and sometimes infamous – name. Mythal stared at the man for a long moment, even as he continued on and briefly wrapped up the tale with some shady words, intending to hide the true meanings behind them. He waved at the man eagerly. “No, no it’s fine. Yer not inclined to share anymore than you want. Honestly I’m still… tryin’ to wrap my head around the fact that you basically started the guild,” the Darkness King said with a short laugh. “Well I guess the honor of the day goes to me.” One of the founders of Fairy Tail – this day was getting crazier by the minute.

As he started back up walking, they were only a short passageway from the site of the first murder. Most of the carnage had been cleaned up but there were still traces of evidence from the formal investigation. He slowed to a halt and kneeled down gently, looking over the pavement. “The first victim was found here, laying out on the ground with a mark on his torso,” Mythal explained, pointing over the ground. What was odd was the strange sensation he was picking up with his dark senses. He could feel the movements in the buildings all around them, as people passed over and through shadowed areas. But there was also a… presence right where they were. It felt like it was directly in the spot they were standing as well as before them. A magic comprised of intense, powerful darkness.

He expanded his sense a bit more, focusing more energy into them. As he did so, he began to get a clearer reading on it. It was definitely some kind of dark magic but it wasn’t right where they were. It was right below them. Someone had cast a kind of dampening magic within the sewers beneath to block their escape and, most likely, their other movements. The Rune Knights still weren’t up to the large numbers they used to have so launching an investigation into the sewers probably fell to the bottom of their list. That and there was no sewer hole nearby… or was there?

He frowned as he walked over to the middle of the road. “That’s odd…” He said to Leo. “Most of these streets have manholes at ev’ry junction. But there ain’t one here.”

“Of course there is,” Lux interjected before Leo could get a word in, stepping between the two and waving them back. He bent down and blew on the ground, causing it to shimmer and break apart. Slowly the world shattered and revealed the manhole beneath it, hidden under an illusory spell. “You’re dealing with a pretty talent illusionist. But he ain’t got nothing on what I can do.”

Mythal glanced at Lux briefly before he reached down and pried the cover off, tossing it back into the alleyway they had come through. “Hope those boots are thick,” Mythal quipped to Leo with a small grin before he leapt down and into the sewers.

Sinners [Job: Sir Leonard and Mythal Ragnos] Empty Re: Sinners [Job: Sir Leonard and Mythal Ragnos]

Post by Sir Leonard 21st August 2019, 9:44 am

More banter had come from Mythal and the spirit whose name was apparently Lux. Conversation he paid no mind to, firstly because Mythal had mentioned to ignore him, and secondly because Leo thought it rude and inappropriate to listen in. There really appeared to be a long history between them and it truly was none of his business. Then when it came for Leo to speak about his involvement with the guild, Leo stopped walking the moment Mythal did. It appears being founder still bore some weight to it, unlike Leo's initial assessment that it wouldn't be much of a big deal. He was just there first, that was all there was to it. Mythal stared as he continued to talk. The man has good taste in tales, choosing to stay a while and listen for the time he met the sprite. But Leo thought it would waste too much of their time. He had also admired his respect and perception as he simply let his quickly ended story slide, seeing that it troubled Leo greatly. And though he knew Mythal is the man that he is through his own experiences and choices, he'd like to think he got some of his values from Fairy Tail.

And when Mythal commented that the honor belonged to him today, Leo raised his right hand up slightly, leveling it to his chest, gesturing an excuse for Leo had something he'd like to rebut "It belongs to both of us, lad. I'm always honored, proud and glad to see Fairies, even those have already left make names for themselves. Become stronger, and live their lives with the values and virtues that, I hope, you have attained in our little family. You..." he paused a bit as he looked down with a smirk, reminiscing of the others who had also been a symbol of inspiration to be better, and of hope, especially Lina, his daughter. "...and many other give me hope. For this world, and the future." smiling proudly at the end. Really, Leo's like a proud dad to have met a Veteran from the guild. It's one of those times that makes Leo feel he has made the right choice to go and deal with his internal conflict. With his family... Especially with his sister.

After that brief comment, they were back on the job again as they made their way out of the alleyway that led directly to the first murder as Myhtal explained. Leo nodded at him and proceeded to help with the investigation and an ocular inspection. Though it looked clean, darkness lingered. Leo could feel a sting in his right shoulder, where his cursed family crest was. It feels the darkness and though it tried to awaken the voices, but Leo had it under control. However, that's as far as Leo knows. That there was still a presence. Because Leo was not a darkness user. Sure he has come across dark mages before, and that his biological family are a bunch of dark mages, but he has no real connection to it unlike darkness users.

In an attempt to hasten their search, Leo went the direction opposite Mythal's to cover more ground. He had faith in his companion's ability but dared not wander too far as to make it difficult to assist one another. He had merely been relying on his sight and the sting on his shoulder that basically says "bad people were here" as if they didn't know that already. I mean, this was the site of the first murder after all.

Failing to be of any help on this side, due to not seeing anything out of the ordinary since the authorities cleaned up this place so well, Leo returned to Myhtal, still thinking that there must be something their missing. Because if everything was indeed cleaned up, why would his shoulder sting? Upon reaching Mythal, he was wondering why there was a missing manhole. A detail that flew right over Leo's head due to not having that much knowledge of the city. He had looked around and observed that there were manholes around, and judging from their pattern, there should be one here too.

That is when Leo was impressed by the power Lux possessed as he was waved to stand back. Despite what Mythal remarks about him, Lux doesn't seem to fool around when it comes to serious business, especially when he knows his specific set of abilities are best suited for the task at hand, an observation that earned Lux more respect than their initial meeting.  Being able to sense and lift illusions with light as he did is indeed a useful magic. Not just in this scenario but in general.

And thus the veil was lifted. And though the illusionist was indeed talented, he overstepped his part in being careful "Talented, yes. But by being too careful in covering their tracks, he made the covert, overt. A rookie mistake if you ask me, I'd image they were overthinking their escape. Missing pieces of patterns could be the key to finding our murderers." he remarked, trying to share something useful and calculated as he had been useless in their initial search for clues.

Briefly there after, Mythal pried the cover off. Leo starred at the abyss down below, the sound of a river flowing deep within as the city's sewage system moved dirty water along to keep the city clean. Mythal made a joke about his boot being thick and well... They weren't. Not that it mattered, Leo has trudged far more disgusting and/or disturbing terrains before.

Giving the Rune Knight a light chuckle regarding his quip before he headed down, Leo followed shortly after. And indeed the sewers were dim, with only a few light sources mounted on the wall every after a couple of meters or so. A perfect hiding spot for those who preferred darkness. A perfect spot for an ambush. He felt it silly to whip out Archangel just so they'd get some light down here. He felt it an unnecessary display of magic. And a huge waste of magic power to use a holy sword for a flashlight. So he mentally prepared himself to go through with this part of the investigation half blind. Truthfully it was alright. For Leo's other senses have been sharpened through constant training. He even began to remember and old teaching from a monk he met in Midi Your eyes can deceive you, don't trust them. Stretch out with your feelings.

Leo turned away from Mythal and checked over on the opposite, expanding the search area. Honestly, it was the best option for them both, as it would cover more ground while still keeping them within earshot. Luckily Mythal’s senses were heavily attuned to darkness magic and once he had a scent for it, he could follow it easily. There was just the matter of finding the first step to begin their trek. The missing manhole cover had been enough of a clue and Lux’s intervention proved to be the means of breaking through the trick. Had it been left up to Mythal, he probably would have just punched the area to test if there was some kind of cloaking spell. The Seal’s method resulted in less destruction, ironically.

Mythal and Lux turned their attentions to Leo, as he mused aloud on the deceptive method. Indeed, in trying to cover their escape, they actually made their means a lot more obvious. Though the Darkness King did have to wonder why the Rune Knights that had investigated this spot had missed that fact in the first place. If he recalled correctly from the report, the first victim had still been alive when he was found. Perhaps they were so focused on trying to save him that they didn’t stop to truly investigate. “If they really wanted to throw you off, they should have tried to cloak all of the manholes. But considering Mythal here was about five seconds away from stomping on the ground like an ape, maybe it wasn’t that bad of a spell in the first place,” Lux quipped, grinning.

The Rune Knight ignored the comment in lieu of lifting the cover off and revealing the dark tunnels below. With no other choice, he led the dive down, plummeting several yards into the deep before his feet found liquid and then quickly surface below that. He carefully landed with as much care as he could but there was no disguising the splash as he hit the grimy water. Leo followed right after him, landing in the running stream right beside him. Lux simply evaporated up on the surface and reappeared down in the sewer, taking care to materialize on the dry side path next to the water. “Phew, you two are gonna need a bath after this,” he said, mockingly wafting his hand in front of his nose.

Indeed, it was quite dark in the tunnels and not just because of the limited lighting. The darkness magic had been embedded into the ceiling and allowed to simply filter down, creating an almost pitch-black screen before their eyes. Simply light crystals hung on the walls on several different junctions, barely illuminating the passageway through the underbelly of the city. Yet for Mythal, he could see perfectly through. This level of darkness magic wasn’t stronger than his senses and his gaze could pierce it without hinder. But much like Leo experienced, Mythal’s own Midian monk master’s words came spiraling into his ear, advising him to feel the fluctuations in the air rather than relying simply on his eyesight.

A fair point but when he could have both – and provide his partner the same opportunity – he wasn’t going to waste it. He tossed the idea over in his head a few times before he finally decided to simply do what he could. Leo was one of the founders of Fairy Tail – no doubt he had seen all sorts of things, including Slayers. Mythal let out of a calm breath before he inhaled again, the sound of it deep and sharp through his nostrils. And suddenly the haze of darkness began to clear as it was pulled towards the God Slayer, absorbed through his clothes and directly into his body. The hard wall of smog began to thin out as he continually brought in as much of the magical essence as he could. Then as he filled his lungs to the brim, he opened his eyes once more and found a much clearer hallway.

That’s how you absorb darkness? No wonder your soul is filthy,” Lux commented with a scoff. With a simple wave of his hand, almost in boredom, he sent light energy into the crystals, increasing their illumination threefold.

Mythal turned to Leo briefly. “Darkness Slayer,” he explained in few words. “Comes in handy every so often.”

“Yeah at pissing people off!” Lux said, his voice louder than normal. Mythal turned back to face the front to see exactly what had the Seal so worked up. Slowly from the several pathways that splintered off their main route, shadows began to pull out and into the main tunnel. Cloaked figures, clad in robes as black as night, removed themselves from their hiding places and took a stance in the way of the hunting wizards. He quickly took a headcount of fourteen of them, shuffling in and forming two lines, with the centers standing in the water before them.

“I’m Mythal Ragnos of the Rune Knights. This is my partner.” He opted not to tell whoever these people were Leo’s name or guild. He’d rather not put the man in danger, though he was sure Leo was more than capable of handling himself. Better safe than sorry. “The magic used here in these sewers was found on the scenes of murders. You will tell me if you are responsible and surrender yourself into me and my partner’s custody.” To punctuate his statement, Mythal reached over behind himself and pulled Curse from its resting place, unfolding the sword to its full length.

The crowd didn’t answer. At least, they didn’t answer his demands. Instead, there was a low murmuring coming from each one of them that seemed to connect in one continuous chant. They were speaking some kind of language he couldn’t understand but as they continued on the same loop, their voices got louder and were filled with more energy.

“Don’t think your little pep talk did the trick, Mythal,” Lux said, leaning against the wall and looking between the two parties.

“Get ready. I don’t think they’re about to give themselves up,” the Darkness King spoke softly to Leo. And almost as if they were triggered by that response, the mages burst into action, hands thrusting out from underneath their robes and taking aim at the two wizards.

Sinners [Job: Sir Leonard and Mythal Ragnos] Empty Re: Sinners [Job: Sir Leonard and Mythal Ragnos]

Post by Sir Leonard 23rd August 2019, 10:07 am

As they stood there in the sewers with chill on their feet due to the running water, Leo could not see the darkness that lingers all around the three of them. Mythal seems to have noticed, as well as Lux who, by being a spirit, had the luxury of not having to trudge the slime moss and other such disgusting things that float on the water as well as whatever is inside it. Only Leo was left in the dark as poetic as that sounded in this dark situation. All that he could tell, was that his family's crest, etched on his right shoulder, was stinging so much, so bad. Leo thought they might be in a middle of a big dark magic spell, but apart from that, there was nothing he could say. Low soft singing noises was heard from his right shoulder the longer they stayed. He had slowly placed his left hand over it, massaging it even in a desperate attempt to alleviate the pain somehow. Yet, this was no cause for alarm for anyone in their group, especially for Mythal and Lux because little did they know, this will not hinder his ability to do combat. Leo had lived most of twenties trying to live with a stinging shoulder as he desperately fought voices off, taunting him to kill and continue on his family's dark legacy. And though the voices were gone, the stinging didn't go with them. As it would appear it will stay for as long as Leo lives and is near evil, because there is no way to remove the crest, and Leo has tried in his many years of wandering Earthrealm.

The longer they stayed there, the more Mythal seemed to have had a chance to assess their situation, to observe what is beyond a normal human's senses. Mythal had moved effortlessly through the darkness that Leo was suddenly reminded that he was an expert in darkness, not that he forgot, he simply bore witness to an amazing feat.

Leo was slowly to get a clearer picture of his surroundings, not because his eyes have adjusted to their current area of low light, but rather because the darkness in the air was fading. As if being vented out. And as Leo looked around to see what was causing this, he dismissed his initial thought of them being vented out, for rather, they were being absorbed. By Mythal no less.

Leo had not the mind to stop Mythal. He trusts his companion wasn't a reckless mage and would do something to harm himself for no apparent reason. Also, because Lux wasn't trying to stop him and they're.... "close" so he thought he really knew what Mythal was up to. So he simply stood there, his left hand no longer on his right shoulder because the pain had become more bearable the longer they were down there. It was at this point that Leo had deduced that Mythal was a mage who was proficient with the dark element, and had since then gained an idea of what he meant by "an understanding" earlier before. Though not sure what it was, he was able to narrow it down to Slayer magic for it was the only magic he had seen in all of his travels that was able to absorb this much safely. The only question now is, Slayer for what? He crossed his arms trying to figure it out, by asking what kind when he was done "eating".

After Leo had witnessed the amazing feat, Mythal turned to him and stated "Darkness Slaying" which he responded with slow closing eyes and a nod accompanied by a soft smirk, seemingly tipping his hat off for him for such an incredible feat that brought clarity to the sewers. But then again, he wasn't wearing any hat. "Dragon? God? or Demon Slayer?" he asked after he had briefly explained what his magic was, not really surprised as he really did figure out the slayer part as he was absorbing, but he was really impressed.

However, the sting in his shoulder was not yet gone, and because he was used to it, and was busy being impressed and admiring Mythal's magic, he hadn't notice until a few moments after asking. Something down here is still emanating dark magic and they must find out who, or what.  Leo looked around, for any signs of it. The walls, the passage ahead and behind them, shadows began to emerge. And 14 men showed themselves dressed in black robes, a common garb for people like them.

Mythal had began to address their guests and as he mentioned Leo's name, he moved up beside him while slowly putting both of his hands behind him, with the left being under right, clutching it and his right palm remained open. Leo eyed them menacingly as they seemingly did not comply with Myhtal's instructions. And it was at this moment that Leo thought to himself that they have chosen death if he had his way, but he would not make a move against them right away, he needed to figure out a way to end them without being ganged up on. As they were absolutely outnumbered, despite the confidence he has in all of their abilities.

Mythal had remarked that Leo be prepared which was answered by slowly lowering his head that bears his calm and unfazed face he was ready to make a move to execute his plan he had come up with whilst eyeing them. And the trick here is to use fear. Because apparently, in his experience, that is the only thing these people comply to.

As the enemies' hands burst forth from their robes, Leo hastily waved out his right hand, and in that instant, the wind swooshed and one of their assailants fell onto the sewer water, barely alive. His right hand pressing against his neck as blood oozed out from it. He was gasping so much for air and his left hand reaching out upwards trying to get help. The others were shocked by what they have seen wondering among themselves what had happened to their comrade. They looked over to Leo whose right hand was held up as if reaching it out. His fingers lazily held up suddenly twitched towards him and the same sound was heard, this time, it was followed by the screaming of yet another enemy because apparently his right arm was cut off from just inches away from his armpit with such force that caused him to drop down on the floor too, unsure of what to do because of the shock and fear.

"Now then...." Leo remarked, grabbing the attention of the remaining twelve away from their suffering allies to the swordsman who had a red katana floating above him on his left side, dripping with blood. He snapped his fingers on his right hand that he immediately placed back behind his back and then from a thin veil of black smoke, where one was directly above his head appeared a blue curved sword, and the another on his right that spawned a large hammer that had a circular head and covered with lumps. "... one weapon equals two suffering men. There's three of them now. Which means, six of you are already dead. And if a lowly swordsman who can just make weapons appear out of thin air can inflict that much suffering, I dread to think what my friend here who is a Rune Knight mage could do to the remaining... fortunate souls." he mused eyeing at any who would dare make sudden moves. Fortunately, there were none. They were all frozen and in shivering in place with fear. "Now then. Would you kindly tell us what we want to know? And please speak up. We would not be able to hear you with all this screaming."

At this point, Mythal was used to fighting groups of people compared to one on one. It was an odd circumstance that he never truly sought out but always wound up in the middle of. It was truly made even more ironic by the fact that Mythal’s monk training was usually best suited for fighting one or small groups. It wasn’t to say that he hadn’t been trained to fight larger groups but he seemed to always avoid them when he was younger that the Midian teachers never went out of their way to teach him anything extra. And yet, he had proven such a quick learner that he had inevitably learned some group fighting. He really shouldn’t have expected anything less considering his occupation. The world was filled with dark wizards teaming together to cause carnage. Rarely did one find a solo artist bent on being a singular calamity, though it did happen every so often.

Still, fighting in a tight corridor like this was going to be tough for close combat. He prided himself on being able to weave through fighting easily, avoiding attacks and landing hits where he could. But narrow spaces made it harder to get around people. The benefit, of course, was that they couldn’t exactly surround them either. Yet they had taken up position at the end of the sewer path, essentially putting Leo and Mythal right in a killing pit. He wasn’t worried yet – in fact, he was quite calm. He had a lot of methods of getting them out of combat or disorienting the group before they could attack but… he was curious. He could feel a surge of magic rising in his counterpart and, despite the situation, he was wondering exactly what was Leo’s magic. As an originator of a guild, he was sure to have some impressive abilities.

So he chose not to engage as the cultists brought their hands up, already figuring that his partner was going to make a move. He didn’t even have time to answer the man’s question before they were inevitably about to be under assault. And yet the attacks didn’t come – there was a quick wave from the Fairy Tail wizard, followed by the sound of something soaring swiftly through the air and concluded with one of the cultists in the water, blood already seeping out from his wounds into the sewer water. If he didn’t die from blood loss, the infections he would get from the slop would surely do him in. The God Slayer’s eyes snapped to the wounded man and then to the other cultists, who had balked at the attack and now could only stare in surprise.

Leo reacted again, bringing forth another weapon that cleaved a man’s arm clean off. The impact drove him into the stone floor, his screams of agony echoing down the passageway. It was brutal, that much was true – but certainly Mythal and Leo would have suffered a similar fate had they been inept. Though he didn’t take pride in killing anyone, he also knew that Fairy Tail operated with slightly less… moral rules than perhaps the Rune Knights did. And even then, these cultists weren’t giving them much of a choice – between them or the two wizards investigating, Mythal would do whatever it took to survive. Luckily, Leo had shown them the brunt of his power and then, in a show of perfect intimidation, he brought forth three weapons from subpockets and let them hover just above him. Each one was meticulously crafted and impressively differed from the others, showing that he was not merely a sword or blade user. He was a weaponsmith, a ReQuip user above all else. And his ability to command the weapons was impressive, to say the least. He calculated their chances pretty evenly and then offered them a choice – talk now or find out exactly what they were up against.

Despite the savagery they had witnessed, the dark wizards turned to one another, apparently finding resolve in their numbers. They formed up, ignoring their fallen comrades and raised their arms up once more. This time Mythal reached out carefully, putting his arm in front of Leo in a silent gesture of asking him to wait. Then he took a single step forward, putting himself at least three or four feet in front of the Fairy Tail wizard. He didn’t want any chance of the magic getting by him. As the cultists cast their spells, streams of darkness magic came spewing at them. The beams wrapped together, forming a spiraling blast that nearly filled the entirety of the tunnel. Yet Mythal simply raised his hand, holding it palm out. As the magic came crashing in towards him, the beams struggled to keep their form as the connection between their forms and Mythal’s ability creased together. The head of the combined attacked dipped down and was instantly absorbed into Mythal’s body, disappearing within the confines of his flesh.

By the time the spell was over, the cultists were standing there in utter shock. Mythal shook his hand out and sneered, his mouth opening and shutting in disgust. “Gross…” he muttered, the flavor of the darkness now reaching his taste buds. Before any of the cultists could think to cast another spell, the God Slayer’s hand pushed itself out once more. Portals of darkness appeared on the walls, the ceiling and underneath the dark wizards, the Darkness King connecting fully to the junctions of Kingdom Darkness. Smoky tendrils of darkness shot out from the portals and whipped all around, smacking the wizards about the place. Some were pierced through their limbs and sent flying against the hard surfaces of the sewers. Others were battered around like fish falling prey to an octopus. Once Mythal pulled his hand back and closed off the portals, most of the cultists had suffered quite the beating.

“God,” he said aloud, turning back to Leo. “God Slayer. It’s a long story.” And one not suited for the likes of the sewers. With Leo having shaken them and Mythal having battered them, it was safe to say the first group of cultists were handled. The Darkness King walked through the water towards the group, ignoring the screams and groans of agony from the wounded or dying.

“Geez, showoff much? You two done measuring sizes?” Lux said whilst rolling his eyes, not bothering to move from his leaning position.

Mythal looked through the group for the one dark wizard that seemed the least injured. Finding one who apparently only had a broken leg, the Darkness Slayer stepped up onto the stone walkway and hoisted the man up. In one swift movement, he had the dark wizard pinned to the wall, his legs hanging limply below him. “I believe my partner asked a question,” he said calmly, seeming almost annoyed. “Are you goin’ to tell us what we know? Because I left most of you alive – can’t say my partner will do the same if I let ‘em at it again.”

The combination seemed to do the trick. “O-Our archmagi ordered the bloodletting. We needed it to…”

Mythal waited a moment before he shoved the man harder against the wall. “Go on.”

“T-To worship our Dark Savior!” The man exclaimed.

Dark Savior? Mythal’s brow furrowed in silent thought. Faera had been called a lot of ‘dark’ things but he couldn’t recall savior. Then again, he had never met anyone that was part of the Sons of Faera so perhaps they called her something different. What were the chances of them finally coming up for air, after this many years? Gren had said that they had suffered heavily after the Rune Knight assault, over thirty years ago. But operating out of Era and worshipping a dark figure was still concerning. “Where is he?”

“D-Deeper in the sewer. Follow the symbols.”[/color] The man weakly pointed towards the rounded pathway nearby. There was, in fact, a small dark branding on the crest of the curvature. Clever. Mythal brought his arm back and delivered a knock out punch to the man he had been holding, rendering him unconscious.

He reached into his pocket and pulled out a small communicating device, tapping a few buttons on it. “I’ve alerted the Knights about this group and will come to escort them outside. We should proceed. I’ve got a bad feelin’ about this,” he remarked to Leo, gesturing towards the tunnel.

“Dark Savior, huh? This might get interesting after all,” Lux said with a shrug, glancing at Leo before following after him.

Sinners [Job: Sir Leonard and Mythal Ragnos] Empty Re: Sinners [Job: Sir Leonard and Mythal Ragnos]

Post by Sir Leonard 28th August 2019, 11:15 am

Indeed, these people understood fear. Their thoughts and movements shaken to their core, about to give up and surrender to their demands. Leo unmoved by this, so much so that not even a smirk came out from him. Not the he was confident that the plan was flawless, but because he didn't care even if it did fail. Because if it did, then there will be blood for he cared not for these people's lives. They have signed their deaths when they, by choice, followed the path of evil. Evil, which is clearly distinguishable from darkness, cannot be allowed to persevere. Leo had wandered the land to purge the evil within him and he will do the same for his country, his home, and his family. Which is why he felt a rush when the enemies refused to lay down their arms and be confident in their numbers, just because of one idiot at the back who foolishly attempted to inspire her comrades and raise their morale. Brave, but foolish. Perhaps this woman had grown not to be intimidated by simple men in her face growing up, an assumption based on another encounter in his wandering years where two women persuaded Leo to indulge in the evil within him. Fortunately for him, and all of Earthland even, he did not give in. This is why Leo was still ready to go on the offensive, as he had seen this before.

When the woman's words convinced the others into their deaths, Leo's left hand, which was his dominant hand, moved a few inches from behind him as he was getting ready to send one of his weapons that he had summoned to fly towards two more, and hold the others with his hands. There had already been a mental picture on how Leo will effectively deal with them all as quickly as possible, for at this point, fueled by inspiring words, they are deadly and will not back down and would only hinder the progress of their investigation. Leo was set, ready to move at a moment's notice, ready to let his left hand completely loose, awaiting only the word from his partner and the primary in this investigation, who was about to make his move as well. He eagerly awaited his command.

Yet the command given was not the one Leo was anticipating, it was different but it was one he equally welcomed for he believed that now, he was in for a treat. For Mythal waved his hand, gesturing that Leo should stand down for this one and stepped forward a few feet from him, which Leo counted to be four. This display of them going at them one at a time only emboldened their enemies further, or they got pissed off, believing that Leo and Myhtal were underestimating their strength, and Leo was leaning on the latter, he recognized a pissed off face anywhere.

So it was that the evil murderers unleashed their spells upon Mythal that were born of darkness. And after seeing Mythal absorb darkness magic earlier, Leo couldn't wait to see the look on their faces when he would absorb their attacks. The shock in their faces were priceless. The faces Leo see on them now might have been a better look compared to more fear they would feel while Leo was cutting them down with relative ease. The feeling of whatever you do, it would be for naught because the very person in front of you can devour your spells as if they were nothing. Something he had seen over the years, and yet, never gets old.

As Leo simply watched impressed with all that he has been witnessing thus far mostly because unlike other Slayers Leo has seen who can only absorb magic of their element through their mouths, unlike Mythal who seem to be absorbing the element from anywhere on his body which he thought to look more awesome, intimidating, and efficient. But now came the main event of his demonstration. The part where the Darkness Slayer used his magic. Thus, Leo was shown how powerful Mythal was, that with just mere hand movement, dark portals appeared all around the cultists. And from these portals appeared tentacles that gave all the remaining 12 a good thrashing. And Leo had to admit, he was happy to just stand back and enjoy the show for it was so much better that what Leo could have ever done.

After the greatest thrashing Leo has witnessed in his life, Mythal explained that what he had was God Slaying to which Leo simply nodded, impressed.

Now that their guests are in a more cooperative mood, Mythal proceeded to question one of them, pinning one against the wall while Leo stood over all the knocked down, threatening them with his three weapons, intimidating them once more, taking the role of what they call a bad cop, who'd definitely kill these people if it weren't for his partner not letting him. Each individual looked upon Leo trying to think of who he was, wondering if they have seen him before. Leo didn't like their prying and so he opted to let one of his weapons float so he can put his hood back on.

After a few moments, they had the information they required and Leo lead the way towards the tunnel that was the way towards their so called "dark savior". At the mouth of the tunnel, Leo's family crest stung again, indicative that there are on the right track and this wasn't a trap. He also had no cause to think it was a trap. A tunnel this narrow, even members would accidentally trip on traps on it. He then looked over Mythal who had alerted who had called Rune Knights over to take the injured into custody. Leo might think them far gone for choosing a path such as this, he was but a guest here. And if the dungeons could rehabilitate them somehow, then he would let them be. Besides, it's not like Leo can't go after them again if they choose to continue down their evil path.

"I agree, let us proceed with caution. There's no one here and yet there's thing stinging feeling. A dark presence must be at the other side. Darker than these underlings." he replied, eager for what challenges lie ahead. But he was confident with his and Mythal's abilities. Between his Dark God Slaying powers and his weapons, Leo would say the odds are about even. What more if Lux was thrown into the mix? He may have not done much yet but with the way he is approaching this matter, he could have more up his sleeve. And with that, Leo moved ahead into the tunnel, while sheathing his weapons with his telekinetic link with them, putting the hammer and saber behind him in a cross while the katana was on his left hip.

Mythal didn’t want to assume that this job would be easy, based on the fact that darkness magic was the prevalent weapon. Whenever something seemed easy, it rarely ever was. In fact, most times it found a way to turn around and bite him right in the ass. That was why he always assumed the worst before he figured the best; made it much easier to handle anything coming forward. That’s why the mention of a dark savior of some kind was troubling but not completely earth-shattering.

He was actively working in the Rune Knight organization now, was operating as a General within their ranks. His journey and eventual election to that position had been only in a short span between when he and Seri had escaped Kingdom Darkness. They had basically reduced Archimedes to a worthless peon, bringing low one of Faera’s archangels. Such an act was bound to ruffle the Goddess’ feathers and no doubt she would be planning some kind of revenge. Perhaps she would go out of her way to resurrect the Sons of Faera. And maybe they were causing issues here for the sole purpose of drawing him out. If that was the case, coming on this job could very well be a trap. In less experienced hands, it could spell trouble.

But having Leo there actually assured the God Slayer. Someone who had helped bring Fairy Tail into existence surely had gone through several variations of danger over the years. He was wizened and formidable in his own right, given his control over his weapons. Whatever was awaiting them, they would surely be ready for it. But he wanted to cover some ground before they ran in without knowledge. As much as Mythal hated talking about his past, it felt necessary for them to prepare.

After he had alerted the Rune Knights, he looked over to Leo as he spoke of how they should proceed. He could sense a dark presence deeper in the sewers and now that Mythal was standing there and focusing up, he could feel it too. A stench of death and darkness that burned his nostrils with its pungent air. He nodded to the door and took the lead, leading their party deeper into the sewers and into whatever awaited them ahead. “I don’t like to assume things,” he said softly, so only Leo and Lux could hear. “But in case my gut’s right on the money, I may have a… connection with these people.”

He turned enough to look at Leo as he continued. “I’m technically the byproduct of two different worlds. I was born to a cultist mother, who was offerin’ me as a vessel. The uh… Sons of Faera as they were called, wanted me to be the body their goddess inhabited. Yeah, I know I’m a man, it’s weird. The Rune Knights some thirty years ago managed to stop them and wipe out most of them but… recently I’ve had to deal with some minions that are allied to the goddess. It ain’t beyond the possibility that these guys could, you know, be involved with them or could even be new Sons. They may be here because of me.” It wasn’t an easy thing to admit nor did it make him happy but he had to face the possibility all the same.

“Oh so all this death is your fault. Gee, and I didn’t think we had anything in common at all,” Lux remarked, chuckling.

Mythal chose to ignore him. “If they’re causin’ issues in Era, they’re pro’lly tryin’ to draw me out. But… I dunno, it seems odd that they would attack with darkness, given that I use the same thing…” He mused on that for a moment before he shook his head,  burying the thought. “I don’t normally bring this kinda stuff up but if we’re walkin’ into somethin’ more than we expected, I would rather you know… just in case.” He trusted Leo with the information, as he seemed as earnest and driven as any other wizard Mythal had met. In a way, he kind of reminded the Darkness King of Serilda, with similar dispositions and honorable backgrounds. It settled a lot of Mythal’s inner concerns with working with other people, which had slowly but surely been depressing as he continued on his current path.

As they reached the end of the first tunnel, Mythal paused near the entryway to peek around the corner. With no one in sight and no movement pinging his senses, he drew them around the corner and continued forward. Farther down the path, there was the distinct sound of chanting coming from a chamber just beyond their current tunnel. He glanced back at Leo and gave him a firm nod, silently telling him to be as quiet as possible. Lux beyond the pair just rolled his eyes. Slowly they entered the end of the tunnel, creeping to the very edge of it. The next room was a large cylindrical chamber, that ran vertically rather than horizontally. Above there was a grate that led to the surface, a thin stream of light barely bursting through the iron bars. A winding pathway ran down from their tunnel to the bottom of the cylinder, ending on the watery bottom of this new sewer. It was larger than one would expect and the reason that so many dark wizards could fit. There, standing in the watery basin, was several wizards in robes. Twelve in total stood on the edge nearest them, gathered in an odd pattern and chanting together.

Standing on the other side was clearly the archmage. His robes were adorned with bloody ribbons, soaked in past victim’s gore. An intricate, runic design circled the edge of his hood, barely glinting in the dim light of the tunnel. He led the chant, holding a book between his hands as he read from it.

They’d found their cult. Mythal glanced back to confirm the knowledge with Leo when he noticed something behind him. Or rather, he noticed something missing from behind them. Lux was nowhere to be seen. He usually disappeared when nothing interesting was happening but given where they were and what was happening, it was hard to believe that-

“Heyo Monks of Ever-Chanting!” The sharp, cocky voice of the Seal sent chills down Mythal’s spine. He was speaking at full volume and as he whipped around, he saw the Lightbringer materializing out of the air between the archmage and rest of his flock. The chants ended immediately, all the hoods lifting just enough to look at the intruder to their practice. “If you all could just take a solid minute to answer a question or two, I’ll let you get back to practicing for the talent show.”

One of the regular mages rushed forward at Lux, a reddish glow emanating from his hand. He stretched out, looking to plunge his magic-cloaked hand into Lux’s chest… but found his fist going through the ethereal being. He fell into the water, splashing loudly and surprisingly. But Lux bent down and grabbed him by the base of his neck, clearly capable of touching despite the reverse lacking. He lifted the man up in front of him, easily holding him above the waterline without issue. He squeezed, causing the dark wizard to gasp and shake terribly. “Now see, that wasn’t darkness magic. Even if it was, it still wouldn’t have hit me. But what was that… death magic?” He asked, tasting the air for quick moment. “Death and darkness – could you be anymore typical? I mean by God, I haven’t been around for a straight millennia and still you idiots can’t help but steer right into the stereotype. I suppose you can’t help it; you are all filthy, stupid humans after all. Anyways.” With that, he twisted his wrist and snapped the dark wizard’s neck. The man gasped once more and then went limp in the Seal’s grip. Not completely satisfied, Lux brought the body back and grabbed it with both hands, bringing it down over his knee as the dead wizard’s spine snapped once more. The Lightbringer took a moment to break every single bone he could, staring right at the silent archmage with a wicked grin as he did it.

By the time he was done, he twisted the body around into essentially what could be called a pretzel. Satisfied, he tossed it over his shoulder and into the crowd of dark wizards behind him, knocking several of them over with its weight. “Now,” Lux said, brushing his hands off. “You with the special robe, I’m assuming you’re the head honcho”

“I am Archmage Rhask, that is correct. And what are you, disgusting creature of light?” The head of the coven spoke slowly and carefully, his deep bass practically reverberating off the walls.

“Fantastic. What’s your little group called? They connected to Faera at all?”

The archmage’s head cocked slightly before a low rumble escaped his throat. “Our god will crush Faera underneath his heel and drink her life blood until the end of days. Do not compare us to those mongrels that follow a whelp of a divine.

Lux nodded, amused. “Good, that’s great to hear.” Then he turned, cupping his hand to his mouth and looking right up to where Mythal and Leo were. “Hear that guys? No connection to Faera. Just a piddly-ass group of nobodies. Though he’s talking some good game against her – I’m kinda pulling for him.” The Lightbringer laughed heartedly, as the rest of the dark wizards looked amongst themselves and then upwards, to the position that had clearly been given away by Lux’s intervention.

Sinners [Job: Sir Leonard and Mythal Ragnos] Empty Re: Sinners [Job: Sir Leonard and Mythal Ragnos]

Post by Sir Leonard 9th September 2019, 12:48 am

Leo looked over to Mythal as he looked over to the tunnel after he supervised the Rune Knights that arrived. He had lived long enough to be familiar with a face that is thinking of something troublesome, specifically ones involving one's past for he too had  to deal with similar things in his own life. But he thought it was not his place to ask about it, especially as his partner moved right next to him because mostly the answer to "What's bothering you?" is "I don't want to talk about it." or "Sorry, it's something personal." But as they walked trough, taking but a few steps in one of the foulest places he's been in - and that's considering he's been inside a giant moss squid monster he hunted in the mountains - the pungent air's smell sticking onto him, his cursed crest stinging even more with every step but thankfully nothing he hasn't handled and brushed off before, Mythal spoke, commenting a possible connection with the people behind the murders that made Leo stop as he turned to the aged swordsman while the slayer of gods relayed is story. The story that could very well relate as to why his partner was looking a bit worried ever since the captive spoke of a dark savior.

And so Mythal told the story of his past. A rather unfortunate past that made his stomach churn as a parent. He knew that some parents neglected their charge, as he was not blind to the evils of this world, but from Leo understood - especially with how without a second thought or hint of doubt of called himself a byproduct - it was as if he was born solely for this purpose and it must've hurt him a lot to have to recall this painful past but he nodded gently and lowly as he could, fully understanding his partner's request to keep this vital information to himself, sensitive even, one he would not have shared had it not been related to their mission and he respected and admired him for it. For Leo too carried such a tremendous burden from his past being related to less than exemplary family himself. But now, gone were the thoughts that these men were part of his past. Or perhaps they still are, perhaps they were collaborating, or perhaps they were from his past broken off to join the dark savior related to Mythal as they continued on deeper in to the enemy's lair hearing chants that grew louder as they delved deeper. He stayed as quiet as possible as the primary commanded, even so much as returning his weapons to their pocket space, except the 4 forth one which was a greatsword he had on his back this whole time wrapped in silk cloth due to its magic resistant properties inherent to the very metal the weapon was forged with.

They arrived at the source of the chanting. A large cylindrical chamber, and at the bottom more robed figures gathered at a large circle. Mythal looked to Leo who was now kneeling on one knee, trying to keep down and not be seen. But he noticed the stronger mage's expression change and he wondered what it was. Looking around, he noticed Lux was missing as well mostly he would have been more aware of his surroundings but he and Mythal had been ignoring him so much he almost forgot he existed ever since they went in the tunnel. But perhaps his time in the material world was up? He had been with them since the headquarters after all.

But then he heard his voice coming from the cultist's room shouting at their targets. A stunt that merely made Leo close his eyes slowly, keeping them shut and not moving until it was all over. Unfortunately for them however, it ended with them being called upon. A stunt that Leo would have been amused of especially since one was already dead had they not been trying to keep a low profile since the investigation but minus the part where he calls on the two of them.

Now alerted to their presence, most of the underlings of the archmage gathered at the edge close to where he and Mythal were, an optimal scenario in Leo's mind as he quickly seized it by jumping off  and spinning mid air as swirling black energy covered him due to the movement, quickly calling forth his hammer from earlier forcefully hurling it down towards them so that he could be propelled towards the enemy's cluster. Their enemies tried to fire, but before they could shoot out a spell, he had already smashed onto them sending about 9 flying in every direction about 6 feet from where he landed that created a dust cloud and the cracking sound of cement. When the smoke cleared, he had his foot on of the enemy's head while two were skewered by the fire katana and water sabre from the top of their heads and right through their throats that he quickly pulled out, bringing both weapons together over his head, turning once again into the hammer mere milliseconds before they would come together. He brought it as he turned lifting off the very floor behind him into a wall to obstruct the 4 from the 9 earlier. After wards, he rushed towards the rest in front of him, swinging the hammer to another who was just getting up square on the left side of his face knocking him out again, but barely dead.

Letting himself be carried by the momentum turning around as he neared another victim he came back from the turn equipped with a fiery blade on his right hand that found its way to the cultist's heart that was followed by Atlanna on his left, meeting Jigoku inside the enemy.

But the shock the enemies felt expired and they were back on their feet. One of them even shouting at Leo with a taboo name: "Kusanagi!" Immediately Leo snapped at the person who knew of it with angry eyes. Fierce eyes that held no remorse nor mercy, an evil looking stare that caught the shouting cultist off guard. His hood must've been pulled back with from his movements, but no matter, the cultist will die. Pulling out Atlanna from last victim's chest he waved it towards him hurling a bolt of ice at him, freezing him in place. As the bolt traveled he rushed towards him, smashing him to pieces with the surprisingly already equipped hammer accompanied by an angry roar as the hammer went down.

Having been able to defeat 5 with ease, the cultist countered with their death magic evading as much as he could and blocking the rest with his weapons, despite knowing he might not be able to use them due to the damage they sustained. But no matter, he had others as he continued to block and walk back to his landing zone, luring them in closer until they were in Mythal's range of attack, coming at the cost that his hammer known as Fissure and his katana known as Jigoku would be out for the rest of this battle.

There was something to be said about having a spirit that didn’t obey orders. Lux had always been juvenile, uncaring and overall a pain in the ass but he rarely had done anything that had put Mythal – or anyone else – in direct danger. It had been Victoria that had proven to be the more dangerous member of the two Seals. But apparently that just meant that the Lightbringer was waiting for a solid moment to strike and interrupting an investigation seemed the best means of doing just that. Mythal couldn’t contain his absolute fury as he listened to the Seal chat idly with the cult members just below them, his teeth grinding against one another. They had been outed utterly and completely, even as Lux directed his words up to them and brought the attentions of everyone in the room.

No other option then. Both Mythal and Leo had the same tactic in mind. Both of them came surging over the edge, the Darkness King pulling his sword from his back and unfolding it to full form. Magic surged through the sharp metal edge as he swung it down, unleashing a blast that exploded when it hit the ground. Several of the cultists were knocked back from the impact, giving the Darkness Slayer plenty of room to land and continue moving. His senses sharpened to a fine line around the room, giving him a wide array of understanding on what was occurring around him. Leo unleashed the full might of his armory it seemed, pulling out weapons as easily as if they were stored on his own body. He was an impressive force to be reckoned with, even if he was quick to judge and execute. But in where they were now, they didn’t have much time to think about sparing anyone.

Spirals of death magic came surging towards Mythal from several cultists, tendrils of lethal energy that sought him out. Mythal shot his free hand out to the side and then across in front of him, summoning a wall of darkness that ate up the attacks easily. The barrier opened in the form of a wide circle, allowing Mythal to dash through it, much to the perplexed enemies in front of him. His sword swung from side to side, carving flesh and cloth together in quick strikes that brought half of his enemies to their knees. A sickle, made up of death magic, came swinging down towards his head and he managed to turn his blade around just in time to catch it. The man under the hood was grinning, apparently pleased that he thought he had Mythal stuck. With a quick flick of a switch, the sword jutted out and rolled down, opening up a small pocket with a tube sticking out. As the cultist blinked at it, he couldn’t comprehend the blast that erupted from the muzzle and sent him flying into the back wall.

The sword clicked back into place as Mythal’s hands began to glow. He turned to the side and rammed his fist into another cultist, feeling his ribs crack from the strength of the blow. A follow up punch to the back of his head flattened the man to the ground, knocking him out instantly. He glanced over at Leo, who had been put on the defensive after quickly dispatching of nearly half of their numbers. With a grunt, Mythal jerked his hand across his body and brought out a pillar of darkness from the wall. It erupted across the length of the tube and crashed into the last couple of cultists as they threw spells at the Fairy Tail wizard, slamming them all into the wall. With their combined efforts, they’d taken the regular members down and left the Archmage staring with almost a bored expression.

As Mythal looked around quickly, he holstered his sword back into its sleeve. The sound of hands smacking together brought his attention to Lux, who was approaching from the corner of the room. “Woo! That was an explosively good time!” the Lightbringer said as he grinned and nodded. “The way you two came flying over that edge. And Leo, my man, the way you froze that one guy and then smashed him to pieces! Oh! I’m going to take a piece home for a keepsake after that beautiful piece of choreography. And Mythal…”

“Shut yer goddamn mouth,” the Darkness King hissed at the Seal, shooting him a dark glare. There was much more than anger in his stare, enough so that Lux actually stopped midstride and sentence. With the everflapping lips of the Seal temporarily shut, Mythal glanced over at Leo. “You alright?” he asked him, his sharp tone much more calm and collected with the Fairy Tail wizard. Once Leo confirmed his status, Mythal would finally turn to face the Archmage, still standing and waiting for their collective attentions. “Mythal Ragnos of the Rune Knights. Yer under arrest for the murders of three citizens of Era.”

A chuckled bubbled out from the Archmage’s mouth. “Am I now? Seems like the Rune Knights are far more lethal than we first assumed,” he explained slowly, extending his arms out to the dead cultists around them.

“Oh, my bad. Should we have aimed for legs while your people tried to take our heads off?” the Darkness Slayer snapped back, unmoved. “Your people gave us no choice. You have one and only one. Surrender now.”

Rhask thought about it for a moment – or he at least made it look like he considered it. “An interesting option. How about this counter?” And as he finished speaking, he wrapped his hands together into fists and slammed them in front of him, knuckles cracking against knuckles. “Death-Make: Remnants.” The bodies all around the room began to jerk wildly. Even the cultists that had been left alive began to twist and crack, as if some kind of force was pulling on their very souls. And indeed, specters made of purple and black magic rose up from their forms, dropping the limp pieces of meat back onto the ground. “Death-Make: Ravagers.” The ground right before Rhask began to warp and twist, the concrete breaking from below. Two forms clawed their way out from the ground; dire wolves that had been near completely degraded, only leaving decayed pieces of flesh hanging from their bones. The Archmage grinned. “Attack!”

Leo and Mythal performed a dazzling and perfect choreography of death as they dealt with all the cultists in conjunction with his actions. They seemed to have a synergy to their enemies’ eyes despite only meeting on this very day they did this dance. Mythal displayed an impressive combat skills by perfectly utilizing both his physical attacks with his impressive sword and his magic. Inspecting the state of his ally from time to time, he too was fooled when he thought one of the cultists got him only to be surprised as well to see what was truly going on. Was that a gun? he thought to himself after Mythal had demonstrated how he killed the cultist with it. I… might need to ask him how that’s made. he continued after seeing it in action, his interest as a blacksmith that he had inherited from his adoptive family. It could also because it looked so beautiful and he wants one and so he’ll make one himself.

More than that, he truly admired Mythal’s awareness to his surroundings and that he would not leave his comrades behind. Such skill and heroism is truly a refreshing sight to see in people, one of the few things that give Leo hope for a better future. Especially since he sees in Mythal the strength to overcome hardship and darkness making it appropriate for him to be a God in Slaying Darkness, Leo thought.

A quick ”Thanks” came out of Leo’s mouth when Mythal helped him and dealt with the remaining cultists at the same time. They have afforded themselves a few moments to prepare for this so called Rhask’s move. It was at this moment that Lux made his annoying side comments, thinking to himself that even his own daughter, Lina had more discipline that the adult spirit. Mythal now had a few words with the leader while Leo stood his ground and stared intently at their remaining enemy, eyeing every movement he makes, and getting a sense and feel of what he’ll do next and how he will do it. Of course, his family crest hurting so much gives Leo an idea what it was.

After Mythal’s statement, Rhask made his move. A move Leo thought was somewhat clichéd and predictable for necromantic cult leaders like him: raise his dead servants. This display of mastery over death not only made his crest sting a bit more, but it also made it glow a purple hue, almost visible even from the distance where Rhask was. What the cult leader saw made him chuckle, he shook his head and saw the intrigue and interest in his eyes ”Ah. You are a member of the Kusanagi family some of my followers were talking about.” This statement made Leo’s blood boil. Who knows what else these dead men have told Rhask? And now some of the remnants performed a chorus, repeating the dreaded name. Grinding his teeth together having had enough of this nonsense. Wanting to end all those who knew the name, Leo quickly held on to the hilt of the weapon on his back, moving it ever so slightly to the left the sound of the pin being pulled off was heard echoing through the chamber and the silk covering the weapon suddenly became undone ”Enough of this.” he coldly muttered as he waved the massive greatsword to his side with his right hand, quickly impaling it to the ground and shouting ”Arena!”

From the ground where the blade was struck, a wave of magic energy came out of it from all directions, going through everyone until it reached a certain distance transforming into solid walls the immediately closed in on them. Rhask and his creations had their backs on the created wall and were brought closer to each other due to the minimized space. Stepping forward once the walls stopped moving. Leo quickly let go of the hilt and from the now free hand, another weapon materialized once again out of his black energy. He waved the sword in front of him going to his right side, a wave of light magic coming out of the weapon, racing towards their enemies. With his left hand, Leo waved it to his right as well as black energy swirled on the wrist forming a gauntlet where an eerie green energy blade was ignited from sending a wave of dark magic to follow the light wave that came earlier.

With movements this quick, Rhask and his summons were not able to react in time, leading to their destruction and Rhask’s damage. It made him flinch, curl up and take steps back but when he looked ahead, trying to condense and concentrate as much death energy as he could manage, he was shocked to find Leo charging at him with the blade over his head, taking aim at the condensed death magic. He brought it down with such force, negating and dispersing the magic Rhask was trying to gather, the tip of the blade scratching Rhask’s chest all the way down his belly, making him bleed.. But he wasn’t just a simple magic user as Leo soon discovered when his enemy pulled out a powerful weapon of his own. A scythe with which he used to engage Leo in melee battle. Leo’s massive weapon meant that he should have been slower as compared to Rhask’s lighter grabs and weapon. But the enemy was wrong to underestimate the older man. Rhask thought he could end him right there and then while he was trying to pull the blade off the ground but was surprised that he was able to lift it up just as fast, or even faster than when he brought it down and sent chunks of the floor flying at Rhask distracting him from Leo’s horizontal left swipe that Rhask had barely enough time to guard, making him fly across their arena while Leo followed dashing towards the enemy, prepared to make another hit.

But Rhask was not the leader for no reason. He was able to gain footing long enough to position his scythe on the blade’s path parrying it and carrying the momentum from the strike in a different direction and strike Leo with the scythe’s butt that evidently hurt Leo making him take a few steps back. The butt strike was followed with another one that made Leo fall with his back on the ground and let go his greatsword. Rhask furiously followed it up with a downward strike trying to stick Leo with the pointy end that Leo simply rolled over to his left side to evade.

With his back facing his opponent, Rhask tried to gut Leo again but they would all be surprised when a sudden flash of white light burst in the middle of them when Leo waved out his right hand to meet the scythe. When the light dissipated, Leo was on his feet holding a glorious weapon. With Rhask was once again on the other side, standing tall with his scythe’s blade having a crack from where it was struck with Leo’s weapon. ”Behold, my new weapon. Gifted by gods, graced by the rainbow.” he announced as he held to his chest before he seemingly whispered to it. ”The Rainbow Sword. Rainbow Assault, Blade of Strength.” The blade suddenly turned completely fiery red, and he waved it to his side, and from his left side, he summoned the Archangel once again.

All the while, Rhask tried to condense death magic once more this time having the luxury of announcing his spell’s name. ”Death-Make: Wyvern.” he said while he continued to condense more energy. ”Round 2. Ready, Mythal?” he asked as he took a glimpse at Myhtal.

Rhask was more than ready to fight; either to defeat them or die trying. It was bold but not unexpected – one didn’t become a cult leader by generally being a coward. The Death Make magic was concerning though; the darkness was easy to counter and absorb for the Darkness King but death magic would be entirely different. It didn’t matter though; he and Leo would do whatever was needed to take the madman down.

Mythal leapt right into the fray along with Leo, the pair of wizards rushing in to attack the archmage. Leo unfurled magic power that shook the very tunnels they were in and with it, destroyed the remnants in one swift blow. All that was left was the archmage and the duo assaulted him from all sides; Mythal wielding his sword and Leo wielding his. The moved in tandem, swinging and countering and blocking against anything that came their way. At one point, Rhask managed to duck a strike and land a kick to the Rune Knight, knocking him back against the far wall. At the same time, he was able to get the advantage on Leo, striking him with his scythe and nearly impaling the Fairy Tail wizard to the ground.

But with the emergence of Leo’s Rainbow Sword, he was able to get back on the defense and, more importantly, back on his feet. With the momentary breath before the next battle began, Rhask formed yet another spell that unraveled a hellish looking Wyvern, coursing with death magic. Mythal glanced at it and then to Leo, who was asking if he was ready. “More like ready for this to be over,” he said with a grumble. He stretched out his own magics and reached beyond the realm of Earthland and the world of light. Deep through the limited crevices in the fabric of reality, the Darkness King tore a hole open to the world prophesized to be his kingdom. And from it he drew forth a terrible calamity; a tornado of wayward souls that had been cast into the lands of Kingdom Darkness. The twister was truly an amalgamation of separate spirits; black creatures with unfeeling yellow eyes. But together, they formed a terrible storm of darkness and danger.

Mythal directed them up into the wyvern, the spiral overtaking the death-made creature and swallowing it up. Its eerie cries were drowned out by the rushing wind and bodies of the twister, as hundreds of black claws tore at its body. The spiral spun back around quickly and, before the archmage could utter even the first syllable of another spell, sucked him up into the spinning mass. Around and around he was thrown, knocked from side to side and beaten back and forth like a coin in a funnel. As the tornado dove back into the portal from whence it came, it left a battered, broken but breathing Rhask on the ground where the door seeped to a close.

Mythal let out a shaky breath, the brunt of his magic used up to open the path as well as control the mass of spirits. He folded his weapon back up onto his waistband and carefully walked over to the archmage. Pulling loose the cuffs he had come with, he turned the cult leader over and shackled him, dragging him to his feet and tossing him over his shoulder. “That was far more work than it needed to be,” Mythal said with a sigh, glancing over at Lux. But the Lightbringer had departed in the mass of confusion and battle, probably watching from somewhere beyond sight. The Darkness Slayer looked back to Leo. “Time to put in the report. Care to come back the way we came and help me round up the rest of those bastards?”

Sinners [Job: Sir Leonard and Mythal Ragnos] Empty Re: Sinners [Job: Sir Leonard and Mythal Ragnos]

Post by Sir Leonard 12th June 2020, 10:18 pm

Together, the two mages fought valiantly against the leader but it was just about time to end it once and for all. With their weapons draw and their enemy in front, it was the perfect moment to strike. However, Mythal believed this has gone on long enough and had to end decisively and swiftly. It had appeared that Leo's partner had drawn from a dark source of magic that had filled their battlefield. It was clear to him that something big was coming. Naturally their enemy and his supposed pet weren't going to wait for this spectacle to finish.

Leo on the other hand would have wanted nothing more than to let everyone witness it. Upon seeing the duo make a move, he waved his bright new fancy sword knocked them back with a colorful rainbow wave that would make even unicorns proud if they ever existed, or at the very least, if he had seen one. This land of magic does hold infinite possibilities after all. The wave itself was effective though and Mythal's spell was able to fully form. "Please. Lay back and enjoy the show." Leo uttered as he dispersed the blade from his hand quietly and casually as he could, a direct contrast of the weapon's flashy nature. He simply stood there and awaited the magic's work be done.

Leo replied to Mythal's invitation of going with them to be handed over, an invite he simply smiled and nodded to that was accompanied with a simple "Yes." as he approached any that had survived and rounded them up, keeping them at blade's edge which was his alternative to cuffs as he did not posses any. The old man had some questions for them as well, especially some of them knew of his true family name. Even the leader was impressed that he possessed it, a hint to him knowing of it as well. "Perhaps we could question them if there are more of them, or if there is a higher power at work." he suggested, after which he paused and looked casually towards the young powerful mage and continued "And if it would please you, I would like to talk to you as well, get to know you as it were. Perhaps over a drink or two somewhere. I used to frequent an establishment here, though I'm not sure if it's still open, or if it even still stands at the very least." Behind him as he was talking, one of the cultist had the seemingly bright idea to escape while his captor was "distracted" and tried to move but the slightest twitch of his muscle earned him a quick death with a stab from one of Leo's weapons straight to the head which quickly returned to its position, leaving the body to fall straight to the ground. Leo while still looking at Mythal continued, asking happily "So, what do you say?"
