STAR LIGHT STAR BRIGHT
THE FIRST STAR I SEE TONIGHT
A petite figure equipped with a tattered white travelers coat came up the central road of the Ace of Spade’s city. Many pedestrians turned their heads when they saw a rutsac that could be the size of a carriage strapped on her back. It was a rather comedic site, various scrolls and maps stuck out the sides and the bag clattered with each step, tossing around the stuffed pack of survival equipment, maps, telescopes and tomes and various other equipment the nomad used often.
After her guild mysteriously vanished off the side of their mountaintop and the wizards of crystal swan vanished Sybil set back out to explore the lands of Fiore herself, she’d only been there a short while and some days wondered if it was only a dream… as guild halls typically did not up and vanish like the crystal palace had.
In the last year Sybil had been Training her magic and mapping the lands of Fiore herself, the northern star, a compass and constellations had been her only guide. but it was all she needed to find The Ace Of Spades, Home to Saber Tooth.
The directions she’d gotten from the last town to the guild hall in The Ace Of Spades were not exactly clear. Sybil was desperate to put her pack down. So rather than wandering the rest of the town she decided to stop in one of the Saber tooth guilds favorite spots and ask for some help to find her way.
The sign above the log archway read: Red Dragon Inn in a bold crimson font. Sybil mustered up the courage and entered the dimly lit tavern with intentions of getting the directions she needed to the guild. Sybil rest her hand on the rough paintwork that coats the door and pushed. Rough wooden splinters cut into her palm; shards of black paint crumble to the floor. The hinges squeal as though they are a warning, but their plea is silenced by a wall of noise. Laughter overpowers the jukebox. Conversations swirl in a dirty cloud of smoke, the smell of cigarettes hides within the collaboration of the scent of freshly baked apple pies and whiskey.
Sybil dropped her hood and set her pack down, stepping forward, speaking as loud as she could. “Attention-- I’m looking for S-“ She announced with a step forward. She tripped having over corrected her step after setting her pack down. Sybil got a face full of the Inn’s floorboards “S..aber tooth.” she mumbled into the ground.
So much for first impressions.
