Demi hadn't been taken off her feet like she knew it should have done, this was from pure sheer will and the fact she had her braced herself for whatever was to come from Cirven's anger. Given the damage she had just received she knew she should have been flat on the snow covered ground, whining and crying like a beaten dog, she blatantly refused to give him the satisfaction of seeing her in such a state. She would want to be put out of her misery if she ever got to that point because she knew she wouldn't be strong enough to survive, not to 'their' standards anyway. She couldn't help but wince a little as she tried to adapt to the pain surging through her body, she had recently told Sol during their last encounter he would need to work through the pain even when his body was telling him not to. How could she expect him to manage to this if she couldn't then again it wasn't like she felt pain in her body, only when her crystal was touched or harmed so protected fiercely. Even within the compound of Cor Torva and the facility she had absolutely no qualm killing the scientists who tried to touch it after the first time she felt the pain that came with it regardless of punishment that came. Unfortunately the latter placement meant that Ruvel got a lot of painful punishments but she didn't care she knew after that one time instinctively that it shouldn't be touched for her survival.
Her eyes narrowing at him as her returned to a steady pace, the pain was still beyond what a normal person would be able to manage but she wouldn't let it slow her, she would listen to the orders given to her because she had to but strangely not for her own sake. He might have thought that she was becoming compliant but she had her own game of chess going away from his eyes, a game that she started the moment she spoke to her cousins within the town she considered filled with demons, in truth it was just a regular city with normal people within it hidden from the world around it. She knew she was playing with fire but even if found out she wasn't breaking the rules of their agreement, she was making no contact in any way with Ruvel as was stated in their terms. It was one of the reasons the person who shot her with the arrows annoyed her so much, the dress she was currently wearing was a gift from the one person in existence she could have absolutely no contact with. She couldn't get it mended or even get a replacement without outright breaking the agreement
"Trase, I need to get my dress fixed." she stated calmly before they entered the portal
"Only problem is Rui made this for me and by our terms I can not interact with him in anyway, can I give it to one of the others to take it to him so it can be mended or a new one given?" she said wondering if the other would allow this, since she wouldn't be making the contact and the others wouldn't dare defy him so no secret message could be given. She had never thought about her clothing being damaged before but then she never thought she would be going down this path again.
Oh hearing his words she knew he was smirking to her comment about what she had said about him and making friends.
"Please Trase, you keep people of use and discard those who are not like a child with adhd." she said with a sigh it wasn't always the fact but she knew they had really done a number on his mind so didn't blame him for being like this, she had to wonder though was who he once was trapped within that psychotic mind? Sure she was telepathic like everyone of her race but she wasn't even thinking about jumping into that maze without being prepared, their minds were traps thanks to the original training to keep people like her out but could still navigate them with little issue but the rules of their game had changed and knew if caught in areas of his mind she wasn't allowed their would be consequences. This was something more for her cousins to deal with due to their unique abilities. She exited a few seconds after him listening to his words, her blood ruby eyes looking to the castle at the peek of the mountain.
"Times do change Trase..." she turned her head away for a moment as she closed her eyes, she was fighting over something internally but didn't really know what it was
'Enough of this foolishness. I decided to walk this path and come what may I will see it to the end.' she scolded herself internally her eyes opening once more as she looked to him she was about to say something but stopped as the others seemed to now turn up.
Given her current day job and the tasks she was sent on for Cor Torva regularly she wasn't awestruck like the others around her, in fact she raised an eyebrow for a second and shook her head
"We've seen these things a thousand times before in the missions we done for Cor Tova, stop acting like innocent children that are out on their first mission." she scolded the others seriously wanting to slap them upside their heads.
"I swear even Rui didn't act like this when he first escaped home." she said with a sigh, the reason for this was the fact that he had, had an encounter with a dark mage who seemed intent on dragging him to a dark guild from what she had been informed. She didn't know what would have happened if he had been dragged to such a place, it may have changed his path completely but then due to how he was he wouldn't have made any progress he would just be serving a new master. She didn't like the thought of him in servitude her hands gripping the pole of her scythe to the point her nails were biting into her hand allowing an unnatural coloured blood fall from her palm. He was a gentle soul when things were kept in check but then that brought up another worry
"Fuck! How could I forget about him?" she muttered quietly but it still wouldn't have been quiet enough for Cirven not to hear her. Their was something just below the surface that was created through the pain and anguish Ruvel had, the scientist of home had manage to bind it but it could break free if it was guided or if Ruvel felt enough pain or fear. The latter she never wanted to happen because nothing good ever came from it.
She was brought back to her senses and away from that worry as she heard Cirven speak once more
"Well I'm sure the owner would be much obliged if we didn't." she said with a small chuckle, her eyes looked to him, she didn't like the thought of having more people like them around even if it was just like minded that was dangerous enough in her mind without having the members of her unit joining their ranks.
"Well it's just smart to know what we are walking into." she agreed with him, in fact this seemed to be the sanest thing he had said in a while by her opinion so wasn't about to argue with it. It was then she clicked onto the rest of what Cirven had said, she didn't want to make 'friends' hell with the friends she currently had she didn't need enemies. Then again this was more like a family quarrel that needed rectifying at some point but right now wasn't the time or place.
"Trase, I'm not a people person..." then again she had yet to meet one of her race besides her cousins that were.
"Why not take one of the others, they would be more adapted to this." she knew her protest would fall on deaf ears regardless
"You know what... fine... lets go make friends..." she was just fed up and wanted to get it over and done with, she watched as the others changed or vanished to comply with their orders. This left her, her sister and Cirven and had a sinking feeling in her stomach she didn't like where this was going.
"You can't be serious Trase..." were the first words out of her mouth when she heard his plot looking at herself
"I look like a Yuki-onna there is no way I'm getting mistaken as a tourist in this climate." she said stating the obvious, she just needed to wear white and close her eyes and she'd blend in to the snow completely and the three of them knew it. She couldn't believe that she was even thinking about doing this but walked through the portal to what was their families walk in closet thanks to the portal Korvin had made. It had been years since she had been in this place and so wandered around it as if it she was seeing it for the very first time. Korvin chuckled watching her
"Now who's acting like a child Wr..." she stopped herself before completing the designation knowing better than to go against Cirven.
"I haven't been here in years Korvin, not since I was sent away to home" she said her voice saddened as she touched one of her outfits
"That was your decision" Korvin replied which had Demi glare at her "
Don't make me hurt you Korvin, it was either I play scapegoat or Trase would have been..." she cut herself off as she couldn't bare to say the last word her voice fluctuating as she spoke the last few words she couldn't stop the glistening purple tears that ran down her face as much as she tried, though all trace of it vanished from sight within seconds
"We protect each other because they sure as hell weren't going to Korvin and dare to say I ever wanted to leave again and I don't care the punishment that comes my way I will kill you and make it look like an accident." she was through with her loyalty being questioned especially from that time given everything she had to go through when she was taken from them.
She calmed once more and started to look through the clothing once more with a flick of her hand her hair became more ornate though still covered the back of her hair and turned from white to a pale blue moving to an area away from their sights she changed from the dress she adored into a red lower kimono covered by a pale blueish-white layer and a lavender obi. She wore a thing cloak that was elegantly designed over everything, in her mind she already looked it she may as well dress like it too. Taking her own dress she opened a portal back to where she rested within the void and placed the dress inside making sure it closed before she walked out and looked at Cirven
"I feel like a fool." she said clearly unhappy but fell silent when she felt warmth in her own hand, she looked down and seen his hand inside her own. Her first instinct was to pull her hand away because she was unsure about this given everything that was going on but decided not to read to much into it as they were just playing parts like they had done so many times before. Listening to his not to take advantage of him bit she rolled her eyes
"Trase even if I wanted to, I've yet to be touched myself so we'd be on equal footing there; besides I'm not that crazy to try anything." she said as she started to walk up the mountain with him, she was wondering if she was going crazy complying with this but pushed it from her mind her eyes going to their joined hands a small delicate smile on her lips as her eyes softened for the briefest of moments.
Travelling up the mountain she did take note on how few patrols there were and just how few people were inside them. She wanted to believe this was to give a fake sense of security but something told her that this wasn't the case in any way. Getting to the entrance she allowed Cirven to take the lead to talk to the guard but was completely off guard by the first sentence alone though focused her mind so she could play her part
"I told you this was a bad idea... We shouldn't have came here..." she said holding onto his sleeve almost looking if she was trying to tug him back because she didn't want any trouble. That being said even with her mind focused there was a blush on her cheeks, she never expected this to be the way things went in all honesty and it did make her more than a little off balanced. Seeing the hand gesture Demi blush deepened
"S-stop..." she said her voice high pitched unable to stop it from it happening. Her eyes went to the guard when he spoke about removing them forcefully though embarrassed still she still chuckled a little
"You just made a stupid mistake." she said watching as Cirven made short work of him her hair losing it's blue hue going back to it's natural colour but not how it was done.
"Well kinda hard when you want to take all the fun" she said with a shrug following him into the guild hall to find its master or in this case mistress.
