    Job Details:

There was something peculiar occuring in Earthland at the time, it was a odd sensation. Like a longing that lingered in the people's hearts, a need to return ...home. Except it wasn't their homes they were longing for, but somewhere else. The Magic Council it seemed were very conscious of this noticeable 'change' in the air. It was a concern that didn't require ordinary magic, but the strong. Fairy Tail, it seemed was chosen and assigned to it were three highly recognisable names in Fiore. The importance of this task had been made clear, and so the Magic Council had decided that two saints and a god of Ishgar would be the ideal selection for the task.

The task required their travelling to Sin, where the source of the disturbance was rumoured to be emanating from. Nessa had never been to Sin, nor had she been informed very pleasant things about the place. Because she had never travelled to Sin herself, she couldn't open a portal there. Meaning she was required to travel there by carriage. She was accompanied by Sebastian, the little grey Exceed, who for once wasn't complaining about how little she took him on jobs. He understood the importance of the situation not to push Nessa right now, plus her mind was in a bit of disarray at the moment. With Mythal's vanishing and her being unable to reach Aven as of late. The stress of everything she had been through was weighing down on the girl. She just wanted to see her friends, to know they were okay. Then there was everything going on with... Markus. She sighed loudly, looking out of the window of the carriage.

"Ness..." Sebastian said softly, she slowly pulled her gaze from the view of the land outside, which was growing noticeably less pleasant the further they travelled. She brought her violet eyes to the Exceed who were eying her with a look of uncertainty. "Perhaps it might be ideal to focus on the mission ahead, I know you're worried, but you'll be seeing your guildmates soon. You don't want Sorano and Mura to have cause for concern do you?" He asked, Nessa's gaze remain on him for a moment before she nodded. Reaching up, she rubbed her cheeks slightly.

"No, You're right, I don't want to worry them." She remarked, sitting up a little straighter. She needed to focus, to get her 'head in the game' as they say. It probably didn't help that this heavy sensation was getting stronger the closer they got to Sin. It was strange, she had never been influenced by magic in such a way. To feel so 'homesick' over a place she knew nothing of. Something told her they would likely uncover something dangerous today. Which was fine, Nessa had gotten used to being in danger. If anything, she was kind of used to it by now. Fighting was almost second nature to the girl, because whenever she took on a job, it rarely involved 'talking things out' as she often hoped. She also felt at least confident, in the capabilities of her guildmates. It had been a long time since she had fought alongside Mura, in fact the last time they had actually worked together was back when Nessa had been only a weak little D Rank mage. She had been near enough useless compared to him. It was strange how quickly all that time had passed, she had also seen him fight in the Fairy Festival, there was no question in the guys capabilities. Then there was Sorano, who although she had witnessed her magic for moving furniture and creating illusions of sorts. She had never seen it used in an offensive or defensive manner. She had to admit, she was pretty excited to see the magic in action, just what was her Guild Master capable of?

The carraige stopped, and the driver annouced that they had arrived at the border of Sin. Nessa nodded, stepping out. There were papers prepared, passports ready and the like so that she could travel into Sin without issue. She paid the driver, and watched as it left. She eyed the land of Sin before her, it was as unpleasant as she'd imagined. A barren land, that reminded her so much of the dark places where she had been sent to do jobs. Those monsters she'd seen in those places, alongside the evil. It didn't ease her suspicions on what was yet to come.

She adjusted the white satchel over her shoulder, she had her usual provision with her; bottles of water, a first aid kit and the like. She was wearing her usual white skirt and top layered with violet trimmings. She had on her knee high boots, and white gloves to match. On her neck she bore the blue crystal necklace she usually wore, an item she'd gotten from that job with Rina in the Ace of Spades. Her long silver hair was down at the moment, yet it did not move. There wasn't really a breeze at the moment. In fact everything was quite still, perhaps a little too still.

Post by Mura Kensho 6th April 2019, 7:13 am

There was a clear change in the atmosphere, that was for sure. At first, the shaman assumed that another worldwide issue was stepping into the mortal realm alike the event with the gremlins and the Night, but so little change outside assured him that this was different. He just had to look out of the small, rectangular window at the top of the white, marble wall; was it snowing, again? Was the sky black as coal? Was the air polluted? None of that… it was just this soothing homesickness. It annoyed him. Why was he feeling so longing for… well, something? He began thinking of the land of cherry blossoms, Midi, his home country… no, this wasn’t the type of homesickness for his birthplace. It felt… magical.

Where was this feeling coming from? What pulled him towards this unknown, uncoordinated destination that he desired to reach so much after just waking up another day? He couldn’t help but drop the scrubber, lean on the wall of the toilet inside the guild hall and hold a hand on his forehead - which was covered by a janitor’s headband - as if he had a fever. “…” He was silenced by the sensation. It must’ve been a product of magic, somehow. He could ask Kyuken and Zirconis, since they eyed him after entering the bathroom, but he batted not a single eye to them. He was too troubled in his own thoughts at the moment, and that obviously worried the familiars.

“… D-Did he catch a cold? Is the toilet too much?”
“He’s… no, he might feel the same thing as I do.”
“… What? Did you catch salmonella too?”
    “No… I feel… homesick. It’s hard to explain, but…”
    “?”
“Something… something in the far distance is calling to me. It’s a type of magic, but… I’ve never felt anything like this before.”
    “Why can’t I feel it?”
“Well, it must be magic. Are you a wizard like me and Mura?”
“W-Well, good point… it must be a trap.”
    “It could be…”

He would have to gear up and attend to the guild hall to find out if anyone else felt the same. Zirconis made a good point; it was likely some kind of widespread magic phenomenon, so Kyuken couldn’t feel anything. As of now, Mura felt homesickness and longing for something that he couldn’t begin to picture in his head due to not knowing what he longed for. It was like thinking that you had a crush, but you couldn’t picture their face in your head.

Fortunately, Mura was far from the only one who felt this atmosphere. Several notes appeared on the guild board from the Magic Council that explained little; this atmosphere affected many or all wizards, and it required highly experienced wizards to find out its source and how to proceed with it at that point. Therefore, the Magic Council had pinpointed the location of this mild disturbance at Sin, the land likely mistaken for Fat Monsterland on occasion, and for good reason. It wasn’t exactly a preferred vacation spot, but Mura was convinced of the weight of this request, so he took it to heart and prepared his gear.

Obviously, he needed his katana. Magic and sword just fell perfectly in place with each other, and Mura was easy to get irritated and kind of unsettled when he wasn’t wielding a blade in any area feared by the mass. Harusame and the Futsu no Mitama blade were firmly strapped onto his left hip after having donned his Toad Sage Gi. His WristLac was online, too. Everything else was up to his magic to provide him with. And with that, he ventured out through the front door, planted his feet on the granite floor and bent down a little.

    “Alright, destination; Sin!”
    “Taking off in 3… 2…”
    “1…”

And at ‘go’, Mura’s feet released short but sharp bursts of jet-like fire that shot him up in the air without damaging the kerb road beneath his feet. High up in the taller altitudes, he dashed forth and flew over the outskirts of Magnolia to soon be flying across countries like Bosco, Stella, Joya and Desierto. His feet were covered in rock with holes on the heels that released jets to power his flight speed. Because of that, it didn’t take long until he caught Nessa’s presence, which genuinely surprised but also relieved him. If not for the janitor job of his, he would have remembered that she and Sorano would accompany him, so he didn’t have to enter any nerving investigations alone. It was pleasant and a huge help for the shaman. He descended towards her position and noticed how she stood still, thinking that she might have noticed something of importance… or maybe just the absence of wind.

Don’t worry, Mura’s jet-like descent provided a rapid wind from behind the Saint of Purity. It would announce his arrival. “I… I don’t like this feeling,” he started speaking to her, “I can’t help but think… maybe, whatever is calling us is a trap.” After having been casually teleported to the far edges of the universe and the far edges of people’s minds so many times, the mere unexplained call to a wizard like him felt distrustful. Mura’s critical sense was high, and for good reason…

“… Hey, I didn’t know that you had a fellow Exceed. Hey there, buddy…” he greeted the grey, small exceed fellow. He even reached a finger to stroke the exceed’s forehead like a cute house cat. Cats were one of Mura’s favorite animals, and Exceeds sure looked like cats… a lot. Oh, by the way, he forgot to take off the janitor’s headband.

    WHEN WORDS COLLIDE

STICKS AND STONES CAN'T BEGIN TO COMPARE
Sorano sighed for the tenth time that afternoon, her head dropping from where it had been propped up by a hand, and onto the table. Dark circles ringed the bottom of her eyes as she blearily blinked out at her office. She was exhausted, frankly, and she had no idea why. She’d been eating properly, she’d been exercising enough to keep up her strength, and none of her work was too difficult or stressful at the moment. In fact, the girl had actually been sleeping at reasonable hours these few days. She should be in excellent shape, but somehow, some part of her felt inexplicably heavy. Such a sensation was so strong that the letter mage couldn’t help but drag her feet through the halls, not wanting to lift her head to do anything. Doing just about any significant activity would lead to a sudden pang in her head and some form of apathetic depression that stopped her from performing at top form. What could the cause for such a thing be? It was dangerous for a guild master to be so restless, wasn’t it? She was taking care of an entire guild, after all.

But even by appealing to her values, Sorano could barely finish off a single letter to a business before losing all motivation again. And the thing was, it wasn’t just her. Normally, Hoshi could easily jerk her partner out of a lull like this with a bit of work, but the exceed had been just as sad and depressed these feel days. There was a deep longing, deep within the feline’s furry chest that just tugged her toward some unfathomable location. She’d been slacking off on her delivery jobs lately, but Sorano hadn’t noticed either. Each were far too wrapped up in their own “homesickness” that they couldn’t notice what was wrong with the other. It was the same all around the guild, to the truth.

The typically cheerful and lively lobby of the hall was now filled with depressed mages ordering mug after mug of alcohol and gazing off sadly into the distance. Everyone was wrapped up in their own little world of loneliness and sadness, and the Magic Council had eventually realized what was going on. Only mages seemed to be affected by this strange slump that had encapsulated them all. Powerful bouts of homesickness had emerged within all magic users’ hearts, pulling them toward some unexplainable location. A few had actually gotten up and walked toward that location, allowing the Council to realize that wherever they were going, it was somewhere in the country of Sin. It was a long journey to the other country, but the government was aware that they needed to somehow jerk the world out of this sadness epidemic.

Such a decision came to a head as a magical message was dropped on Sorano’s desk by a despondent Hoshi. “Urgent message from the Council,” the exceed mumbled before flying off and curling up on the couch. The guild master blinked slowly and apathetically at the flashing piece of paper before reluctantly rubbing her eyes clear and spreading it out on her desk. A request to investigate the homesickness, huh? How dull… But she supposed she’d have to take it after all, right? This was the government calling for her to do something, and ignoring that was probably not a very wise decision. “Ah…I want to go home…” she whispered softly. Then, with a tremendous effort, the girl pulled herself out of her chair, scooping Hoshi from the couch on her way out. “We’re going on a job, Hoshi. Please try to muster a bit of energy…” the teenager sighed again before hailing a magical taxi to the train station.

It was a long journey from Fiore to Sin, and the duo spent the trip sleeping away their sadness, hoping they’d have a bit more energy by the time they arrived at their location. Neither had the energy or will to talk to each other, after all. Neither had the energy to do anything but despair over a place they didn’t even know.

Yet even with the depression that filled the train, at one point, the mages going to Sin felt a sudden pull towards the end of a journey. Sorano’s eyes flashed open, seeming to shine with emotion for just a moment as a sudden jolt of joy shot through Hoshi. They were almost home! Around them, the other mages felt the same way, some whooping and hollering as energy and happiness returned to their limbs. “Hoshi…what is this?” Sorano’s voice, though flat as eve, held a subtle tone of confusion that the tabby feline instantly recognized. “No idea. But I’m feeling so much better for some reason! I feel like we’re going to see something fantastic soon…oh, I just know it!” With a twirl through the air, Hoshi shot through the train door as soon as they stopped, leaving Sorano to awkwardly stumble after her, flashing her passport awkwardly at the officials before stumbling into Sin.

It was true. She did feel a lot better than she had felt all week, eyes wide open and ready to get things done. Checking over the note again, the letter mage’s eyes widened at the names of her companions. In her carelessness, she’d neglected to read that Nessa and Mura would be her partners on the journey. Instantly, she spread out her aura, searching for their familiar magical signatures. Catching a faint whiff of Mura’s familiar energy, the letter mage gestured for Hoshi to follow behind. “I can sense Nessa and Mura – let’s see if we can find them?”

Running through the crowd of mages at the station, Sorano burst out to where Nessa and Mura stood, the latter with a ridiculous janitor headband pushing his hair back. “Hello Nessa, Mura,” she greeted them quickly, a bit out of breath from their rush. “Hey guys!” Hoshi’s greeting was much more enthusiastic, the feling swooping through the air to land on Mura’s head, plucking with a distasteful expression on her face at his headband.

Post by Nessa Cordelia Lux 20th April 2019, 9:28 am

The Starlight Maiden stared ahead; there was bustling in the distance, the train station that was based not far from there was fairly busy. She was trying to figure out the best course of action. She had no idea how to pinpoint the source of the magical pull. Although it was pretty obvious that it was coming from Sin. The closer she got, the less drained she had felt, like a strange sense of relief. Perhaps that was why this dark, desolate land was so busy. People were subconsciously trying to alleviate their homesickness; after all, people didn't just take holidays in Sin. She did have her Starlight Guide, which she would hopefully be used to track down the source. Although she would wait until the others arrived to cast it. She just hoped it would work. She had tried so desperately to locate Mythal with it but to no avail. The light had just bobbed in front of her, making no attempt to move in any direction. Which meant either one of two things, either Mythal was dead or he was no longer in this dimension. She desperately hoped it was the latter, but her heart ached for her friend none-the-less.

Nessa felt the sudden influx of wind, causing her hair to billow around her. She sensed the presence of her fellow Ace as he made a swift and effective arrival. She had chosen not to fly to preserve her magical energy. Nor could she summon a portal because she had never visited Sin before. She had made good time, preparing for her journey and setting off as quickly as she could. It was fortunate that she had gotten here first and not wasted her guildmates time travelling here by carriage. She smiled before looking over to him, pleased to be reunited. It was reassuring knowing that she had two strong mages working on this with her. His greeting words were sombre ones, stating his dislike for the feeling this 'situation was giving him, she nodded. She could relate; she didn't like it either. It felt unnatural, draining even. Like she couldn't be her best self because she missed home too much even though her home wasn't what she was missing.

"It really does," Agreeing to his remark that it felt like a trap. The fact that it was still pulling them, the urge to move closer growing stronger and more alluring. It was suspicious. She doubted that whenever they arrived at the destination for which they were to find the source of this 'sensation', that it was going to be a pleasant experience for any of them. Then again who knew, it was impossible to confirm at this point. "It's gotta be a powerful one too, for it to affect so many." She added, as far as Nessa was aware, everyone felt this way. It had spread over the entirety of Earthland. As Mura remarked on her exceed, she glanced over at Sebastian with mild surprise. "Oh yeah, I forget you guys haven't met, this is Sebastian." She said with a smile. As Mura reached over to stroke the cat, Sebastian swatted him lightly with his paw.

"Whoa dude, hands off the merchandise!" He snapped, with a scowl, he wasn't really fond of being touched by strangers or treated as a normal cat either. Nessa was fairly sure Sebastian just had a bit of a complex about being considered weak. Probably something she didn't help with, with how hesitant she was to take him on jobs. Nessa sighed, "Sorry, he doesn't like being treated too much like a cat. It undermines him apparently." She said while rolling her eyes. She heard Sorano's voice, and drew her gaze to the younger girl, accompanied by her tabby, Hoshi. She'd never actually interacted with Hoshi, but she heard about the feline whilst hanging around the guild. Nessa's smiled, happy that the whole party was here.

"Hey!" She said, her tone a little chipper now. "So does anyone know anything about what we might be facing. I have some magic that could locate the source, but it'd be nice to know if we're going in blind. Mura and I were just saying before you got here, how this kind of feels a little bit like a trap. Plus, it has got to be pretty serious if the Magic Council are demanding we handle this so urgently." She commented unsurely. She pondered for a moment, before making a decision. Her magic would begin to glow white, her irises changing to blend into her schleras, and the Norse emblem on the back of her neck would emit a bright white light. She held out her palm, summoning her golden Varja. She gripped the bar in the centre, her eyes would return to normal, and her emblem would stop glowing. She moved the magical item to her hip, attaching it to her belt. It was a powerful weapon, emitting strange ethereal energy. But since she had grown stronger, she had noticed how much easier it had become to wield. The magic didn't overwhelm her any more, and she could control it with ease. Although she hadn't paid much attention to her own personal growth, she knew this had to be significant to how much stronger she'd become. Especially considering when she first held the Varja, it had felt so overwhelming she'd barely been able to maintain her grip.

It was just a means of preparing for the danger ahead; she had predetermined which Valkyries she would likely summon to aid them. Although that plan may well change based on circumstance, depending on if an environment had specific qualities that a Valkyrie would excel it. However, for now, she intended to call upon Tiphanae and Ellamora. If things got really dire, perhaps Scythen too, but that really would be a last resort. The idea of calling upon the Valkyrie of Death in any scenario still wasn't something Nessa was comfortable with. Even if she was finally powerful enough to call on her.

Agreed. The magic… it must’ve been enormous. Powerful. To affect many wizards all over Fiore, to alert the Magic Council and make them wary of the effects in such a wide scale, you would require immense amounts of magic power. They would have to take caution, because the shaman did expect this sensation to stir up some unpleasant possibilities and outcomes. What if dark wizards and criminals felt it too, approaching this place along with them? What if this was actually a trap to capture all wizards? It was more of a hunch and anxious thought than anything else… Mura had yet to find the source in Sin. He would have to keep his eyes open for anything worthy of notice that would lead them to a more substantial explanation.

Mura’s face backed a few inches in mild shock by Sebastian’s outrage. He was quick and strict, forbidding Mura of stroking his head. Nessa kindly explained that Sebastian might have been what the shaman would call ‘tsundere’ out of experience… or somewhat close to that. He felt a little full of himself, the cat, and appeared to have taken the petting as something undermining to his character. But what was so undermining about being an exceed? Magical feline creatures who could inherently fly and support other creatures with flight was a very nice heritage. Maybe he just wanted to be more than that and had a vision for himself…

“Hmh… f-fair,” he simply replied in acceptance. Sebastian would have to associate with Mura in his own pace if he wished so. Mura usually approached fluffy creatures like this… like some kind of stereotypical action of his. It could grow into an issue if he casually and carelessly approached the wrong types of people - he obviously saw Sebastian as an ally and friend, a guildmate of his, but what if he fell into a trap? These were important things to think through as well… another day.

Oh, hey. Hoshi was another exceed that Mura was much more associated with, a close friend of his and the closest companion to Sorano, the Guildmaster of Fairy Tail and his little sister figure. Glad to see them arrive in good time, Mura stroked Hoshi’s head as he noticed the headband. “T-That’s actually for later, I’m not done with the toilets…” Yeah, even the small duties were expected to be done at one point. The headband was traditional in handling this kind of labor for the guild.

Nessa’s eyes changed temporarily. Magic emitted from her, and she used it to summon a golden tool that the Onmyōji was oblivious to. He had never seen it before… it looked like the handle of a rapier without the blade and with the round bar of the handle duplicated, so that it’s attached to both ends. However, it possessed similarities to golden appendages and jewelry hung up in houses to him. Other than the rapier reference, he had yet to realize its purpose as a mighty and powerful weapon of hers. “Well, we’re all here now. Let’s continue; I do think that we’ll not walk around Sin without facing someone else…”

In the far distance, Mura’s ears heard… earthquakes. It started slow, but it surely travelled its way to the Fairy Tail Wizards, gently vibrating the surface beneath their feet while the magnitudes were far higher at the source of the phenomenon. It was caused by two distant groups of wizards, each wanting to find the source of this magic that led them all here, but unwilling to let anyone else accompany or even take the claim away from them. They were fighting deeper in the valleys of Sin with a few hills and higher terrain covering the view towards them, but their location was also near the ancient ruins of an old empire that used to rule here.

The shaman wanted a closer look, though. His hands rose as he warned the two ladies: “Alright, stand still. Make sure I’m going in the right direction.” Imitating ancient, Midian body movements that inspired several martial arts and even inspired the Fiorian book about a Midian adventure called ‘The Boy in the Iceberg’, the earth beneath them - as barren and dead as it looked - shifted and suddenly lead them all forth towards the edge of the nearby valley a mile away. The shifting of the earth mainly provided them a hiding spot up in the front in case if the fighters were to notice someone approaching. It was down at the bottom of that valley that the earthquake must’ve originated from given the tectonic waves.

The quakes suddenly skyrocketed, and it was suddenly cracking and lifting the land all around the lot. Now, it didn’t really matter what direction they took if we focused on the battle cries in the distance, because Sin’s surface around them almost turned into cereal. Only the plate of earth that Mura commanded was unaffected, which must’ve meant that the earthquake was magical in nature.

Once they braked at the edge of the valley with a discreet piece of rock covering their front, Mura eyed the two guildmates of his. “Is it any nearer us now? D-Don’t tell me I got us all lost or anything… I can’t pinpoint this One Magic so clearly. It’s all… much fuzzier now than back at Fiore.”

    WHEN WORDS COLLIDE

STICKS AND STONES CAN'T BEGIN TO COMPARE
Listening in on the other two mages’ conversation, Sorano gave Sebastian a formal nod as well, noticing his foul mood. Although she wasn’t sure what had caused it, she hoped not to further incense his anger. Meanwhile, Hoshi snorted at Mura’s explanation of his headband. “You really think we’re gonna have time after this go back to cleaning toilets?” The exceed purred in amusement, before she turned her focus to Nessa’s words. The starlight mage would explain how she could locate the source, before asking for the others’ expertise.

“Indeed, it’s unlike the Magic Council to call three wizard saints together, no matter the purpose. Though I do wish they’d be a little more specific with their requests and reasons for urgency.” It was something that had vexed the letter mage since her first official jobs commissioned by that particular branch of authority. While everything they wanted from her was of “great importance” or “extremely urgent”, she found the actual job descriptions to be frustratingly vague. This one was no different, and the letter mage had found few sources of information from the little bit of research she had managed to fit in before leaving. “Unfortunately, it’s difficult for me to pinpoint anything about this energy as well. While I could sense a specific pull back in Fiore, the energy seems to almost be surrounding us now, and it’s far too general for me to track down with my senses.”

Even now, as the letter mage attempted to shift her vision into the field of energy, the entire area was awash with that pulsing red color that this new force was represented by. It was so bright in their current location, that all her other senses seemed to have been dulled as a result. Certainly not very ideal conditions to work in. “I’m hoping things will clear up as we go along…”

Nessa, on the other hand, seemed a bit more prepared. Holding out her hand, the ace summoned a magical item, her irises changing color with the action. Sorano blinked curiously at this powerful display of magic. It had been a long time since she’d seen Nessa use her magic, and although she knew the starlight mage had long surpassed her in power, it was still surprising to see her in action, working with confidence that she’d lacked when they first met.

Distracted from her thoughts by Mura’s voice, the guild master followed after him as he began to move forward in their quest. Yet only a few steps had been taken when the ground began to shake – slowly at first, but more intensely the longer they stood there. It didn’t get so bad that they had to run for cover, but it was nevertheless an unnerving experience. “W-what is that?” queried Hoshi, fur raising on the back of her neck as she gazed off into the distance, where the tremors were coming from. It seemed that Mura had the same question, as he began performing some sort of martial arts posturing. Aware that the ace’s magic could easily manipulate the very environment around them, Sorano shifted into a more secure stance as they were brought forward by the ground itself to overlook the valley the quakes had originated from.

It was now that the letter mage abruptly pulled back away from the edge, flinching in pain at the sudden surge of ancient energy that had assaulted her fully in the face. It was as though she had peered into the depths of the sun itself, energy-wise – the valley held such a massive amount of power that all senses were temporarily blinded – not only the spiritual ones, but her physical perception as well. With shaking limbs, the girl cautiously lowered herself into a kneeling position, resting her face in her palms briefly before looking back up, trying to dull her magical senses while doing so. “My gods…what is that?”

Hoshi instantly swooped down to her partner’s side, looking worriedly at her pale complexion. She herself could also feel the sudden influx of magic coming from the shaking valley, and she knew that its impact would be greatly magnified for Sorano, whose lineage caused her to be especially sensitive to energy. It was both a blessing and a curse, as had been proven time and time again on their jobs.

“I do not know if you feel it as strongly as I do, but there is something of incredible magical power in that valley. I have reason to believe it may be where we should go towards, to find the root of this mystery.”
Still feeling dizzy, Sorano struggled to piece the sentence together, finally forcing out the words to represent a strange and feral desire that seemed to stir within her. Taking a deep breath, the girl pulled herself back together, standing up to look back over the rim of moving land that Mura had created.

“Yes, Mura, I do believe we are on the right track, though perhaps it is best to confirm it with Nessa.” Despite every inch of her instincts telling her to enter the valley, the letter mage kept a grip on reality and caution, telling herself to wait for confirmation before diving in. It was terrifying how much her mental state was changed by the sheer presence of the intrusive energy, and it was difficult for her to focus with the pulse of magic all around her in such large quantities.

As her guild master responded to her, Nessa would nod in understanding. It seemed that it might be prudent to rely on her starlight to track down the source of this ominous 'energy'. Sorano had a point, Nessa's sensory was normally relatively good these days. But whatever it was that was drawing people here seemed to be interfering up those abilities, almost like a jamming signal causing them to rely on the sense of relief from being closer to the source more than anything. Nessa had anticipated a longer journey before they ran into any 'troubles', however,  they had barely taken a few steps before something came up. In the distance earthquake levels of rumbling caught her attention, in the same way, it had the others. Her gaze would follow that of the groups and they would witness the hordes of wizards that were creating a commotion with the equivalent force of a stampede.

"Welp... That doesn't look too good." Sebastian commented casually. After the fellow exceed's query, Mura would offer them instruction. To which Nessa's nodded, steadying herself in spite of not really knowing what it was that he was going to do.  The earth beneath the group would move and they were carried forward towards the uproar. Once they were a little closer, the booms of magic and cries of battle became even clearer. The intensity of the strange magic seemed to amplify significantly, Nessa didn't even need to attempt to sense it to know they'd certainly closed the distance. It was disorientating but in a strange way. Like a 'high' that an addict might seek for themselves despite knowing they shouldn't. Nessa glanced at Sorano as she spoke, her expression divulging into one of concern as she noticed how pale her Guild Master looked, whatever it was that was going on was clearly affecting her significantly.

Mura would ask them if they were closer, explaining that he too was struggling to pinpoint the magic. Sorano's response seemed to reflect Nessa's own suspicions, as she heard her name spoke she blinked for a moment. Before realizing it was her time to act, "Oh, yes umm..." She would pull her magic from within, the source of starlight gathered within her body shifting through her. She would open her palm, facing it towards the sky. In her hand appeared a little ball of light, like a miniature star it bobbed there for a moment, "Show us the source of what we seek." She asked of the guide. The light seemed to bounce excitedly for a moment, before shooting up into the air and drifting boisterously over the edge of the rock. Nessa peered over the edge, watching as the starlight would sink into the valley, stopping as though waiting for them to follow. So far, the light went unnoticed by those fighting, just a little too high above their heads to be noticeable.

She would turn to the others, "Yeah this is definitely it. Looks like we're going to have to head right into the thick of it. I have some friends that can help create a distraction for us so we're less likely to engage the wizards." She told the group before activating her newer magic. The Norse sigil on the back of her neck glowing once more along with her eyes. She would part her lips to speak, only when she did it wasn't just her voice that spoke but what would sound like the voices of several women talking at once, calling the same names as she. "Tiphanae, Lucinda." A wind would pick up around them, rising fiercely out of nowhere. It would billow back and forth, spinning faster and faster to the point of forming a small whirlwind in front of Nessa, the dust would spiral for a moment before settling down and in place of the whirlwind stood a beautiful winger woman. The Valkyrie of the Wind, Tiphanae. In addition to this the air around the group would grow hot, a ball of fire appearing by her side, it would darting around Nessa in a fiercely playful manner. Expanding as it did so until it transformed into another woman. A valkyrie made entirely of fire, the one known as Lucinda.

"Tiphanae, Lucinda, thank you for coming." Nessa would smile warmly, before realizing she should probably introduce them. "These are my Guildmates; Mura, Hoshi, and Sorano. You obviously know Sebastion already," She turned to the others, "These are the daughters of Odin, I have contracts with them to fight alongside me should I need ever need assistance." She explained, Elegant as ever, Tiphanae would descend into a low bow. "It is an honor to meet you, Nessa Lux has told us a great deal about her beloved guild. I hope I can provide sufficient aid to your cause."  She said before straightening up once more. Unlike her sister, Lucinda would just offer a casual wave. Before adding, "Yo, nice to meetcha, also can I just say, This energy is jacked up!"  She said glancing in the direction of the valley. Tiphanae would nod in agreement.

"I'm sensing very curious ancient magic here, magic I have not come across in a long time." She would turn her gaze to Nessa, her expression stern, "Be wary Nessa Lux, this magic is powerful, it can consume the mind and rid you all of sense. As it seemingly has done to your fellow humans below."  Nessa nodded apprehensively. "Yeah, that's kinda why we need you. Think you can distract them enough so we can locate the source and find a way to contain its power?" She would ask, the sisters would exchange glances before nodded. Lucinda's face split into a devilish grin, "One big ass distraction coming up,"  She said turning on her heel, she would kick off the ground. Behind her giant wings of fire spreading from her body carrying her into the air, before she nosedived straight into the valley. Tiphanae would offer the group a nod, before turning to follow suit. It wasn't long before the reaction to the Valkyries could be heard, the shouts of wizards instantly attacking the new threat. Nessa wasn't too concerned, the Valkyries had a history of single-handedly facing much greater numbers than this. Nessa glanced towards the others once more, "Okay, we ready?" She would ask one more time, her voice laced with the anticipation and a slight sense of adrenaline about what potential was yet to come.

Tranquility, Purity and Spirit~ Empty Re: Tranquility, Purity and Spirit~

Post by Mura Kensho 22nd July 2019, 12:36 pm

It must’ve been hard for Sorano. Mura wasn’t exactly standing out in terms of magical sensory, but even turtles could sense this wave of energy and assume it to be magic on the instance. Given that he had been on various missions and journeys with the ‘letter mage’ that was now his elevated Guildmaster, Mura had a broad knowledge of her capabilities over time. Her magical sensory was in a whole other league, and maybe getting closer to this source could worsen her condition. She looked like she was in a slight displeasure already now. His hand patted her small shoulder as he quickly threw these words at her: “It’s not fair having magical senses like yours right now… j-just tell us if it becomes too much for you.” He was speaking out of worry for his ideal little sister, and despite her being his Master and hold slightly more experience and magical prowess than him, she was still clearly younger. He couldn’t help but worry about the young ones… just like people worried for him.

But he knew very well that they were on a mission. In the end, it was probably her business, and he should likely trust her to get through this. This surge of energy that now covered the Fairy Tail Wizards like air particles had direct contact with them, and beside the magical brain fart, it not only prompted them to get closer and closer… but it also prompted something to come out. Out of him.

It was a stomach feeling, a hunch whose meaning Mura hadn’t been aware of. He shook it away and looked at Nessa who was about to channel another spell to help them locate this source more specifically. A ball of light escaped her palm and bounced up in the air, aiming right for the track that they were going to take in order to find their target. According to the ball, the source was close to the very center of the valley, which meant that they would have to bypass the wizards waging war on each other. The valley was huge, and their shockwaves could still be felt from here. Mura would have to guess that they were around his level of strength, and the numbers only added up to that. Thankfully, Nessa planned to call some of her friends who could help create a distraction, preventing any of the Fairy Tail Wizards from using up their mana right now. Given the influence of the source of this ‘flux’, he feared that greater anomalies awaited further ahead. It was inevitable with such strong sources of magic existing.

    “Urgh… I-I don’t feel too good, either.”
“M-Mura… I think this is affecting us too.”

Mura looked at each of his shoulders where Kyuken and Zirconis floated above. His two companion ghosts who were requirements for most of his magic. They looked ill given by their facial expressions, and Mura didn’t know that spirits could feel that ill. An explanation was soon to come up by Zirconis:

“T-This surge is making me dizzy… I-I hate it. D-Don’t count too much on Kyuken today… r-rather, I can handle it.”
    “W-What are you t-talking about?! I-I’m… I’m- urrrghhh, my head… and my eyes…”
“It’s… like an epileptic seizure. I didn’t know that you s-suffered from tha-“
    “W-Wha? Epidemic?”

“… Hang on, you two,” Mura assured them. Before him, two Valkyries had been summoned by Nessa and her magic, one emerging from a vortex of air, and another emerging from a ball of raging blazes. The shaman raised a hand up in a greeting to them as his name was introduced along with his guildmates’, and he quickly noticed what set them apart from each other. It was kind of funny to see how elegant one of them was in contrast to how laid-back the other was. But they delivered quite a nice distraction, and it revealed how easy the attention of those other wizards was to grab. At this point, all they now had to do was to dive into the valley and follow the orb that functioned as a pathfinder.

Strange. The weather was greyish with the sky covered up right now, except the round area where the valley was right underneath. It was no joke just how much magic power this source had, and Mura felt teased and lured to ask himself more and more about it. Where did it come from? Was the source a living creature? Perhaps an unknown wizard of monstrous power? Or was the source an ancient tome or artifact? What was it? What was it?! It frustrated him a little… oblivious to the changes in his own body at the very moment, he had all his attention on the path they had to take. "I'm ready," he said as he leapt off the platform that he and the others had travelled on, sliding down the naked valley as the ground beneath his feet softened at his command. It made for a nice slide downwards, quick and almost soundless to not attract any sensitive ears nearby. As long as he concentrated, the same effect would happen for Nessa and Sorano-imouto unless if they leant towards other methods of following the orb.

He would have to be on his guard. With Kyuken feeling so ill that he could barely synchronize with Mura properly, it rested more upon Zirconis to provide him with spells other than his onmyōdō powers. But despite being an Onmyōji, he still had a lot of unmastered spells that he feared to rely on. He felt much safer with his usual element-bending spells and with the ravaging dragon spells that Zirconis was able to provide him with.

    “… F-Feeling any better, Kyuken?”
    “Urgh, s-shut up, gecko…”
“… Pitiful bastard. P-Perhaps you deserve to suffer like this…”
    “Erhhh?!”

Kyuken’s vision was affected by his past pains with epilepsy. A stun grenade could knock him out - thankfully, they weren’t invented back then in Midi - but it was an issue that Mura had never crossed before. Talk about a bad timing…

    WHEN WORDS COLLIDE

STICKS AND STONES CAN'T BEGIN TO COMPARE
Battle cries and explosions sounded out from the basin below, now becoming more and more audible to the Fairy Tail mages who were sheltered – for now. The letter mage inhaled deeply, trying to re-calibrate herself with the energy around her so the force was less unbearable. Focusing on the conversation to keep her mind off the pressure, Sorano watched as Nessa created a ball of starlight floating in her hand, to track where their target location would be. The orb bounced eagerly over the cliff, diving into the depths of the valley. That was confirmation enough. Listening to the starlight mage’s plan of action, the letter mage nodded in thanks and understanding. “That sounds like a good idea…thank you, Nessa.” As usual, the white-haired woman was a wealth of resources and ideas. Being straight to the point as always, she began to work her magic, eyes glowing with power as she cast her spell.

“Ah, thanks Mura. I think I’m starting to manage it. Hopefully I’ll be fine in a couple of minutes. Don’t worry – I do not see any benefit in trying to hide my own shortcomings in this situation.” With that reassuring response to Mura’s concern, the guild master turned her focus instead to the obviously uncomfortable Kyuken and Zirconis. Both seemed to be negatively affected by the onslaught of the magic as well, and she quickly ran through her inventory of abilities to try and find a way to help. Yet before she could speak, Nessa had finished her summons, bringing forth two shimmering Valkyries. One came into the world with a powerful whirl of wind, sending her hair flying with the breeze, while the other one blazed into existence with a burst of flames. Although Sorano showed only an expression of mild interest, intrugued with her fellow guild member’s abilities, Hoshi had never before seen such entities summoned before. Instantly, the exceed’s jaw dropped open, awe shining in her eyes and her fur standing up on end. “W-whoa, Nessa…I didn’t know you could do that!”

In stark contrast to her companion’s reaction, Sorano listened thoughtfully to the ace’s introduction of the summons. The daughters of Odin – elegant Tiphanae and the more casual Lucinda – they were beings that reminded her of the angels they had met when literally going to heaven, as well as the elemental entities they’d seen before in an ancient temple. Dipping her head in respect, the letter mage responded to their greetings. “It’s an honor to meet you,” she intoned respecfully.

The other mages watched as Nessa gave them her orders, and the winged entities dove down into the fray in an instant at her command. With a sigh, Sorano looked up into the cloud-covered sky, before adjusting her energy sensitivities one last time. Hopefully she should be okay now. “I too, am ready.”

    “M-me too!”

Following Mura’s lead, the letter mage leapt off the edge of the earthen platform, sliding down the valley’s slope in a surprisingly smooth process that was near silent. Mentally, she commented on the usefulness of the skill – none of the battling mages seemed to have noticed them as of yet. Sorano’s eyes quickly landed upon the softly glowing orb that guided their path, and glanced over once more at Mura and his spirits. Ah yes…Kyuken seemed to be having an unusual amount of trouble adjusting to the magic levels here, wasn’t he? Epilepsy or an epidemic…whatever it was.

The letter mage let a swirl of energy dance around her finger, testing her abilities, then walked briskly over to Mura and the spirits. “I believe I will be able to alleviate some of your symptoms, Kyuken – and yours as well, if you are having difficulties, Zirconis.” Having developed a way for herself to tolerate the discomfort of the One Magic by adjusting her own aura’s energy, she wondered if it would have the same effects on a spirit like the ghostly samurai. Sorano’s secondary magic allowed her to manipulate the energy around her – and that included her own aura. By pulling it closer to herself and thus causing her aura to grow denser, the letter mage became much more comfortable moving against the incredibly strong energy of the One Magic. While the pressure was still clearly palpable in tingling waves across her senses, this quick fix of sorts allowed it to become more of a sort of background noise than hindrance.

After responding to Mura and the spirits, the letter mage looked out at the masses of battling mages, trying to determine what details she could about them. “Although most of the people here look like your average attack-oriented mages, there are definitely a few knights here. Their armor is easy enough to pick out.” With a slim finger, Sorano tapped her earring, opening up a new source of information. Instantly, audio began to play, reciting simple details about the people around them. “Yep – there’s definitely some government-affiliated knights here, as well as some mercenaries. I can sense a good amount of higher-power signatures as well, so it would be best to stay out of their way for now. No doubt we’ll have to enter the fray at some point in time though, so be prepared when that happens.”

The tabby exceed shuddered next to her guild master at the words. Despite being of ethereal rank, Hoshi knew very well that she didn’t stand much of a chance against mages of Nessa, Mura, or Sorano’s level. Hell, even one of the Valkyries would be incredibly difficult for her to face. It was no wonder that the thought of having to fight caused her to shrink away. “Anyways, our job here is to inspect this phenomenon, and protect whatever potential power there may be from those who would use it for “evil”, am I correct?” The letter mage dug through her bag, pulling forth the paper that detailed their job. “Whatever it is, there seems to be no doubt that these mages here want it. In fact, I myself feel a sort of urge to dive for the prize myself. In that aspect, I’d guess we are expected to stop this addictive sensation as well.”

Tiphanae and Lucinda touched down on the ground hard, the ground shaking a little from the force of their landing. The two women approached the chaotic horde, during which Lucinda nudged her sister with her elbow, a curious expression on her face. "Wait, Did Nessa Lux say we could execute these humans or not? I can't remember." She asked uncertainly, Tiphanae didn't glance at her sister, eying the fight with contemplation but shook her head nonetheless. "She said only to distract. You may engage them, but do not kill them. You know how humans feel about our kind of killing them." She instructed firmly, the fire Valkyrie sighed, stretching her arms over her head casually as though warming up in preparation. "Oof, guess I gotta hold back huh? Suppose I can still enjoy a little butt-kicking, so what's the play Sis, 'Angels of doom?', 'Messengers of God?', 'Help, my sister spontaneously combusted into flames?'" She asked with a playful snicker, Tiphanae glanced over incredulously.

"Just follow my lead." She ordered, before moving over to the crowd. She would raise her hand, pointing it to the closest wall, she released a large burst of wind magic. It slammed into the wall, creating a loud booming noise, earth crumbling down with a crash loud enough that it drew the attention of the fighting mages. Tiphanae took a breath before calling to them with a commanding shout. "The time has arrived Humans, to claim what it is you seek. We are the overseers of the great power that draws you here." She reached for the hilt of her sword, "The human who slays me and my sister will be granted access to the legendary power, that is, if you are able."  She moved into a battle stance, as did Lucinda who was wearing a challenging grin. "Have at us, if you think you are worthy." There was a moment of hesitancy then collaboration of battle cries as the mages charged the valkyries. The Valkyries quickly switched into fight mode, moving with skill and grace as they practically danced around the mages, dodging their attacks with ease and weaving around them, occupying them easily as their Fairy Tail mages prepared themselves.

After checking in with everyone, Mura, Sorano, and Hoshi would each confirm they were ready. She glanced down at Sebastian, who nodded at her. She smiled, glancing over to watch as the others would descend down into the valley swiftly. Pulling more starlight from within, glowing balls of light would appear around Nessa's body, circling her form. They would begin to spin, moving faster and fast, until she would lift off of the ground taking flight. Sebastian hopped up onto her shoulder. She would begin descending into the valley after her guildmates. Moving closer to the source of magic in which they sought. A power that only grew more intense as they approached. She eyed the ball of light, that danced happily ahead of them as though pleased that it was being followed. Within moments they reached the base of the valley, a short distance from where they valkyries were distracting the mages.

Nessa floated down next to Sorano, listening as she began to assess the situation. Nessa followed her gaze, eying the knights and high ranking officials. Following Sorano's question, Nessa nodded, "I'd say so." Something this powerful that was capable of controlling so many could be lethal in the wrong hands. Nessa looked around for her guide, she could see it bobbing away, deeper into the valley and the chaos. "We'll have to move quickly," Nessa said, before moving to follow the guide, passing by the angry grounds that seemed to be distractedly charging the Valkyries in an attempt to claim the power. As they moved towards it, Nessa realized that the orb had come to a stop and was hovering low over the dirt. As Nessa moved in, she could feel the intensity of the magic, it was almost nauseating. It took a moment, but it soon dawned on her that this meant the source of the magic was underground. "I-it's here." She said to the others with a strain, she reached for the Varja at her hip, unhooking it from her belt. She would hold it over the ground, taking a slow breath as the Norse magic coursed through her.  Her eyes glowing once more, the earth would begin to tremble, and the spot over which the guide hovered would begin to transmute from hardened earth into the soft sand. Sinking downwards on itself, it would descend before them as Nessa manipulated the earth. There was something under here, she knew it, she just had to get to it, pushing open the ground with her magic deeper and deeper in an attempt to make a path to the magic. Finally, she felt it, the ground gave completely, opening up a hole beneath them. The sand she'd created hardened, creating a set of steps for them to climb down through. She glanced at the others with a smile, sweat dripping from her forehead, manipulating that much earth hadn't been easy.

Her smile quickly faded as she realized that they'd been spotted, the disturbance in the earth had caught the attention of the soldiers and as a result, the Valkyries were now holding back the mages as opposed to distracting them as they had been. "We gotta hurry!" She chirped to the others before rushing down the stairs, Sebastian quickly in tow after her. She hastily ran down the stairs, the thick magic like syrup hitting her even harder now. If it hadn't been affecting her before, it certainly was now. It was like a was sickeningly intense and yet somehow she found herself somehow wanting to move closer. As they reaching the base of the stairs to step into a giant cavern, Nessa's eyes widened in awe and Sebastian would let out an impressed whistle. It was ginormous, and wall to wall the stone was embedded with various crystals and gemstones. The place was practically pouring with energy from every corner.

Nice job rom Nessa and her two Valkyrian pals. Without drawing any of the opposing wizards towards themselves, they managed to move down the valley with no resistance. Mura could only hope that Tiphanae and Lucinda would be able to keep them at bay - or at the very least give all of them a good hour of sleep or more - in order for the Fairy Tail gang to uncover whatever turned so many wizards into exploration narcomaniacs. About that… yeah, it kind of affected Mura a little more now than before. Just approaching a few dozen meters closer down the valley caused his heart to flutter in eagerness of finding out what this One Magic was all about, but it was so strange to feel this way when he had next to no interest in it earlier today… this level of attention couldn’t be given in a day. There was something fishy about it, and that contrary, fishy feeling stuck to his forehead like a pearl of sweat for the most of the time.

Sorano-imouto had quickly been able to cast off most of the effects of the One Magic from herself and offered to help Kyuken and Zirconis with it. They had been super-effected by it and gladly accepted her helping hand; Kyuken even bumped Zirconis off to get cured first. “M-Me first, you…!” he roared, not wanting to waste another second in this state of nausea. After that was done, and the two ghost pals had regained their composures, Mura listened along on Sorano-imouto’s explanation on the ordeal.

There were high-ranking wizards here too. And knights, although he didn’t exactly figure out where from yet. Were they also here to secure the One Magic? What purpose did they seek with it? He wasn’t able to read their thoughts or decrypt their minds like Sorano-imouto. However, if he learned anything from their cries and shouts earlier, then it was that they were rather stubborn. He would hold onto that unfair judgement of his and pull through the rest of the mission with it.

The shining orb that led the way for them, manifested by Nessa’s magic, had suddenly halted while levitating just a few inches above the uneven ground. That was where the effects of this strange phenomenon called One Magic were strongest felt by those above the surface, and they all regained this sickening, nauseating sensation. At this point, Mura despised whatever this One Magic did to him, and he clearly began wanting to get rid of these effects himself. Had it not been for Sorano-imouto’s own high-level spell, then he would’ve definitely felt even worse.

To switch from yearning for the One Magic to despising it, though… it was a total 180 degrees turn by a few meters. Was he having a hormonal impact from this or what?

Either way, to continue, they had to go down. Nessa clutched in with her Varja and caused the earth above the orb to crumble and dissolve into sand that quickly sunk down and, in a handful amount of time, created a staircase for them to walk down a nicely shaped hole. The shaman could clearly see that doing so under the pressure of the One Magic had been no joke, and the trickling pearls of sweat complimented her generous smile towards them. Therefore, he returned the smile and a reply: “Nice. Now, let’s hurry.”

Speaking of hurry, that had to be emphasized as their cover had been blown! Bullshit, they had been so silent all this time! Now, Tiphanae and Lucinda were trying their best to give them enough time to go down the hole and escape the horde aiming for them, and Mura wouldn’t want to waste any more time, in which he ran down the stairs along with the others. “Urgh, t-this is… even worse…” Mura groaned as he wiped some sweat off of his forehead. He hadn’t noticed yet, but Kyuken and Zirconis… yeah, they had been totally scrambled by this effect, and therefore they had been temporarily turned into pure hitodama. Uncharacterized orbs of life energy with no person as they were in slumber.

Meanwhile, Mura laid his eyes on the large cavern as well as the stone filled with crystals and gemstones. It looked like a huge ornament of jewels, but… could this be the One Magic? It was true that all the magic that resonated around this specific cavern was a dead giveaway, but somehow, Mura felt an innate desire to oppose it.

“… How are we going to secure that huge orb?” Mura asked out. There it was again, the faint desire to horde some of One Magic… for himself. And it was such a disgusting feeling, and he wanted to vomit over how selfish that was. “… F-Forget securing it. We should-“

A blast appeared from the wall behind them, at the end of the cavern. An Earth Wizard had drilled his way into the room along with two other wizards. They were clad in the same knights armor that they witnessed before, meaning that they were likely here for official business. “… Wait, hold on…” one of the knights told the others as he held an arm to stop them from advancing, “What are you wizards doing here? … Wait, I’ve seen your faces before. You’re both Wizard Saints from Fiore, if I recall correctly. You have to step aside; we’ve been ordered to secure it.” Secure it, my ass; from what Mura felt, there wasn’t anything to help oneself with this One Magic, and it gave him the bad vibes. Besides, it had been drawing all types of wizards to this one area, possibly endangering all their lives by clashing against each other, and for what?

What did they want from it? More power?

“You should rather… no, what I mean is-“ Mura spoke up, feeling rather in a bind unlike what he had ever felt before. I’m starting to lose even more of my cool, now… are those crystals really that worth it? Can’t we just destroy them and their effects on us? he began thinking, keeping his gaze upon the knights ahead of him. One of the other knights huffed, drawing Mura’s attention to him. The knight’s hand was drilled into the ground below him… which meant…

    “NESSA, BELOW!!!”

Mura shouted as quickly and clearly as possible, turning his face towards her to see that whatever spell the knight was going to throw on any of them hadn’t taken effect yet. This was all but a distraction, however; as the knight with his hand in the ground was, in fact, channeling a fire spell to spear up from the ground beneath Nessa’s feet, the third wizard had taken the opportunity to launch a white square at Mura’s direction. Being distracted, Mura only noticed it when it was too late to get away or evade its huge form, so he depended on Harusame and Kyuken to cut it apart- which was the shattering gateway for the revelation that neither Kyuken nor Zirconis responded to his spell’s command. That meant that Mura and his katana were pushed all the way back right into the large gemstone by the white square that seemed to only increase in magnitude as it was apparently squashing them. As if trying to push it away wasn’t all the efforts in the world, but having the gemstone drilled right into his back caused so much ruckus in Mura’s magical system, and he started having a somewhat similar situation to electrical damage.

This was no good. He was unable to escape the pressure of the white figure from the knight’s spell, and if he didn’t get away from it anytime soon, then he might lose all of his magic power and die.

Tranquility, Purity and Spirit~ Empty Re: Tranquility, Purity and Spirit~

    Post by 88 6th June 2020, 6:12 am

Homesickness wasn't an unfamiliar feeling to the onyx-haired man with the brilliantly luminous blue eyes. If anything, he constantly felt it. Either it was for the hazy home of cobbled stone and shops with sweet treats, or it was for Tomoe, or, more recently, for Rin Mayou. He felt homesick for the days when he didn't feel homesick. For those fleeting moments of careless joy and comfort in the arms of someone who saw his value and treasured it. Sometimes he even felt it for those days when his heart had been hardened, if only because things hurt less and he didn't feel like...this.

Strangely, though, this time his homesickness was accompanied by an intense urge to travel to Sin. He'd never been to Sin before. Desierto would have made sense, even though he never wished to return there. He'd cut his teeth in Desierto, but feeling this sort of way for a place he'd never been was a fight between his mind and his heart. Theo's brain definitely kept reminding him that you couldn't long to return to somewhere you'd never turned before, but Theo's heart-- figuratively speaking since he didn't have much of a real one-- was definitely screaming to go. To get into his flying ship and sail to the other end of Earthland. It made him restless. It kept him up at night. There was no avoiding it. So he did.

It felt less strange if he imagined this to be a treasure hunt. He traveled a lot for that passion anyway, and he was certainly capable of craving items he'd never actually laid eyes on and only heard about. Perhaps his heart was just telling him of a rumored valuable of epic proportions and he was doing what was only natural for a treasure hunter of his caliber to do...rush off without much thought!

Upon flying over a particular valley, he felt the need to land suddenly. His ship drew near to the ground, revealing it wasn't just him that was drawn to this evil hellscape. There were hordes of mages from all over, from the looks of it, all fighting amongst themselves down in the bottom of the tear in the land. It was an odd feeling, being repulsed by the desolate, blackened environment with its acrid smells and piping hot lava rivers yet also inexplicably drawn to set foot in the land of monsters and demons to try and soothe this homesickness. The closer he became the sicker with longing he became. He had to find out what it was and get close to it.

Perhaps he should have thought through where he landed a little better, though. In his desperation to get relief, he just bounced down into the fray. While Theo had little interest in fighting, everyone else in the crowds seemed rather keen on it and he was instantly accosted! Turning to jello and bouncing around like a pin-ball while people swung at, elbowed, kicked, and bit him only helped so much. Just because some weapons and magics could pass through him didn't mean the cuts in his gelatinous state didn't injure him. Upon switching back to flesh and blood, he'd still bleed from cuts and gouges. "OWIE!" He did his best to defend the worst of the surprisingly powerful spells and attacks launched at him. The ex-Rising Star didn't want to hurt anyone but also wanted to investigate what was truly going on down in this valley. It was maddening. He didn't see anything! What was everyone fighting for?! What was so seductive that it could draw and aggro people on this wide scale? Why did it feel like he had eaten a jumbo magnet and its mate was so close that his stomach might rip right out and zip to cling to it? Did he still have the mental capacity to figure it out all on his own?

"Oh my gosh, STOP HURTING ME!" Theo squawked in the chaos, highly disturbed by the pain he was in. Theo hated pain. Feared it. He'd frankly endured way more of it than anyone should, but he'd also "survived" more than most could come back from...which is why he also feared death. Both of those fears combined would have normally been enough to send Theo running for the exit, but these weren't normal circumstances. If anything, his fears were the only things keeping his mind sober enough to think as rationally as he was normally capable of. He did worry he might actually die before he figured all of this out, though.

Luckily death wasn't on the table for a fourth time... today, anyway.

As the bedraggled treasure hunter was shoved toward and promptly blasted out of the outer ring of the giant brawl in the valley, he landed in a heap and just laid there, taking a breather. Another ruined tracksuit. It was full of slices, burns, and holes now, some edged in his blood. His cheek was pulsing and probably actively bruising and he wanted nothing more than to not re-enter the fray. That's when he noticed it. The ground was vibrating. His hand pressed to the dark dirt to make sure. His head twitched around, trying to see what was causing it. Angling it backward, he took in the world from an upside-down perspective. A good distance behind him there was some dust and dirt being kicked up, even though he saw no one. Since everyone else was more concerned with bashing each other's head in, maybe he'd just go see what was going on over there.

Sneaking up to it with his most sneaky-sneak skills (on all fours and nearly slithering at some point), he found himself peering into a roughly drilled tunnel! "Very crafty," Theo grinned, blood dripping down his split lip and off his chin. It seemed like the classic opportunistic approach any raider would use to gain the upper hand in a prize race, pushing forward out of sight while everyone else was focused on something stupid. Of course, whatever this was had to be underground. All the good things were! Mentally kicking himself for letting his mind be so clouded that his default shiny-hunting instincts were turned off, he silently followed whoever was drilling this magnificent hole.

It turned out to be some knights, judging by the armor. He didn't know where they were from, but one was using fire to light the way, one was actively drilling the hole, and one more just followed behind. Theo kept back enough that he could barely see them, but also could enjoy a little of the light. He'd rather not dissolve into a blubbering infant over the darkness while in a tunnel in the middle of Sin.

After what felt like an eternity of keeping silent, there was a tell-tale blast and they were through to a room! He nearly whooped in excitement, but an instant later he couldn't even if he'd wanted to do something so stupid. The wave of magic busting through the opening was enough to make him dizzy enough to dry-heave, but he managed to keep it together. Still, Theo hung way back despite wanting to run head-long into the room to see what exactly was hidden beneath the valley, find out what was twisting up his insides so much. Judging by the voices, which he couldn't understand because of all the echoes, it seemed his little knights had run into more people down here! Oh no, just how many people were down here to fight over whatever it was?! Please don't be the massive clusterbuster from topside!

A mix of curiosity and the draw eventually won out and suddenly he was moving. Rushing forward he decided to take the cautious approach to entry. The floor of the tunnel slicked with a jello film, spreading out into the room beneath everyone just after two of the three knights launched their attacks. He had surprise on his side, so as he skated into the room the three knights could only gape at him, do a slippy dance, and fall on their rumps. With some waves of his hand, large jello molds rose up from the ground and encased the knights up to their necks, holding them in place to jiggle in cherry-scented rage.

Spinning on his heel to do the same to the rest of the mystery people in the room, he was shocked to see two familiar faces. After a brief pause and a couple blinks, Theo awkwardly waved to them, grinning sheepishly. "Uh...Yo!"
