Another day, another project. Kyra had been working closely with another aspiring engineer today; the girl was hoping to create different types of armour to suit individual members of the Rune Knights. Whilst the project was obviously ambitious - the number of different types of armour that would be needed for each individual knight would be utterly insane - the thought of having an armour that could work different to her current one was too much of an opportunity to pass up. After talking her colleague down a little and explaining the overall impossibility of such a task, the pearly-haired girl had saved a little bit of hope until last; if the armour worked as intended, then she would look to use it herself and would, at the very least, pay for it afterwards. With that agreed, the two began discussing how they would go about the design.
"I'd like to design this armour so that it could increase the potential damage of the wearer." the engineer stated. Kyra nodded, but cut the woman off as she mentioned the concept of having it solely be offensive. "Armour is typically defensive of course, so it would be a bit counter-productive to have an armour that wasn't a little bit defensive. We need it to be durable, but perhaps rather than going for lacrima that would increase its durability, we could go with lacrima that would increase something like damage of my magic? Or possibly movement speed?" she enquired. The woman thought for a moment and then a grin came across the face of both engineers "Or..."[/color=#3399ff]"...BOTH!"[/color]
They both laughed before setting to work on the idea; a special lightning-based lacrima for the movement speed would be necessary. For the damage output though they had multiple options. "For the sake of testing it as a prototype, we should use fire lacrima. We can then test others once we know the design works." Kyra stated. The other engineer agreed. Kyra took her blueprints from her original lacrima armour and, with some deliberation between the two of them, they created a new one using that as a base-point. With a design already in place, it didn't take too long for them to finish the blueprint for this new design. It would take a few hours for them to create the prototype, but both women were determined and eager to get it ready for testing.
A few hours later and the prototype was completed. Kyra got herself into it and the duo headed to the testing grounds to test its capabilities. Once everything was set up, Kyra began the testing. She started off with subtle movements, bouncing from side to side. Once she was comfortable she decided to test its speed properly and rushed to the other side of the grounds. The burst of speed she felt was utterly exhilarating as she moved so much faster than she could have done in her usual suit. She gave a thumbs up to the other engineer who audibly squealed at the success. But now was the real test. Kyra requipped her twin blasters and locked onto a training dummy that was placed towards the back of the field. After a moment to ensure her aim, she fired a double shot. What happened next was unexpected; the two shots struck the head as intended, but the head of the dummy was utterly obliterated, causing both women's eyes to grow wide in shock. They looked at each other and, upon seeing each other's expression, they burst out laughing again.
It worked. The damned thing actually worked. It needed tweaking of course, but Kyra would most definitely be getting the finished version once it was completed!
