Name: Sayuri Katsuya
Gender: Female
Age: 22
Birthday: 02/11
Sexuality: Bisexual
Special Characteristics: Scars on her wrists, which she almost always hides.
Personality:
Sayuri was once a shy, quiet, idealistic girl. However, much has changed since she was last known in the magic world. A former Rising Star, she disappeared from the public eye to try and work out her issues with her family. Sadly, her attempts as reconciliation failed, and have left her jaded and a bit bitter. Some hints of her former personality can still be seen, such as when she gets uncomfortable around crowds, or how she believes that it is possible to create an ideal world, if only one works hard enough. However, that is now tinged with darker emotions and beliefs. She's gained a strong sense of skepticism, and is no longer easy to manipulate or make a fool of. While she is still completely capable of seeing the good in people, she more strongly recognizes the bad, and is more inclined to judge because of it. And she believes that the perfect world she dreams of can only be achieved through shows of strength, and forcing those who against it to conform to those ideals, or perhaps even by killing them if they refuse to convert. She also views growing in strength and showing off her power to be the only ways to get her family to accept her for who she is, and that pushes her to gain strength, even if the costs can sometimes be high.
Not all of the changes are bad, however. She's gained in confidence, and while she's still willing to fall into line under a leader whose ideals she agrees with, she is more comfortable with taking a leadership role and directing others. She dealt with so much sadness and anger towards her family that those emotions, when brought on by less traumatic event, are dulled, if they even exist at all, meaning she doesn't react as much to upsets or insults, instead taking them in stride.
And of course, there are some basic fundamentals to her character that have not changed at all. She is still fiercely loyal, willing to give her all to whatever and whoever she has committed herself to. She's actually a rather kind and caring person, even if she can come off as being a bit harsh sometimes, and she's always willing to help out a friend, guildmate, or even a total stranger. She's soft-spoken, avoiding yelling or angry outbursts. And she's quick to forgive, as long as she believes that the person in sincerely sorry, and has mended their ways if necessary.

Likes:
- Swordplay. Sayuri is an expert swordsman, and it has saved her life on numerous occasions. She practices regularly to make sure her skills don't get dull, and genuinely enjoys training, especially when she's working with someone else.
- Games and puzzles. She loves all manner of board games, brain teasers, logic puzzles, and even jigsaw puzzles. However, her favorites are anything that relies on logic to complete or win. She feels that it keeps her mind sharp, and that is every bit as important as keeping her physical skills sharp.
- Sweets. Sayuri has a huge sweet tooth, and will always jump as a chance for a choice confection or delectable dessert. She's also a good baker, and enjoys making her own sweet treats, even coming up with her own recipes.
Dislikes:
- Anyone who goes against her view of a perfect world. It's not a strict view, so she accepts most people as they are. But anyone who harms other people, including criminals and dark mages of all types, are, in her mind, what is holding the world back, and so she strongly despises them. However, she is quite willing to forgive people their past mistakes, even serious ones, if they reform.
- Yelling. She absolutely hates when someone yells (emergency situations excepted), and yelling or screaming at her is one of the fastest ways to make her angry. In fact, she always avoids yelling herself, rather adopting a cold, quiet tone whenever truly angry herself.
- Alcohol. Not so much the drink itself, but the effects it has. She feels that it dulls her mind, and can make her do foolish things if she drinks too much, so she just generally avoids it.
Motivations:
- An ideal world. After all, who doesn't want one? But Sayuri is extraordinarily passionate about creating a perfect world, where everyone can live in peace without wars or fighting, are kind towards each other, etc. She's so invested in the concept that she's willing to even push past her own boundaries of what is "acceptable" since it is for the greater good, to reach the ideal end result where such actions will no longer be necessary.
- Discovery. Growing up fairly isolated, Sayuri never got to see much of the outside world. As such, she is fascinated by other places, countries, and even entirely different worlds, and she loves traveling and experiencing different cultures and beliefs, even if she doesn't always agree with all of them.
- Acceptance. One of her longest-held and most deep-seated goals is to be accepted. By friends, by a guild, and especially by her parents- she needs that sense of belonging in order to feel happy and satisfied.
- Self-improvement. Of course, she just generally wants to be the best self that she can possibly be. But this is also related to the above point. When anyone rejects her, she's always viewed it as there being something wrong with her, and so she's always pushing herself to be perfect, believing that that's the only way to earn the acceptance of everyone.
Fears:
- Losing someone. This is her absolute biggest fear. She gets extremely attached to the people she cares about, and so losing one of them would absolutely break her. She's constantly afraid that it will happen, so she has to check in with them frequently, just to make sure they're still okay, and if she loses contact for too long she will start freaking out, sometimes even to the point of a full-on panic attack.
- Rejection. As stated above, being accepted is very important to Sayuri. As such, she's afraid of being rejected by people, especially when meeting them for the first time, or after she's make some sort of mistake.
- Sayuri hates spiders. With a passion. The spindly, many legs, odd way of scuttling, biting, threat of poison... She can usually keep this fear in check without showing how much it affects her, but encountering them is still an unpleasant and nerve-wracking experience for her.
