Completed Who the hell are you? [Louie's B-rank Exam]

Post by Louie 21st March 2020, 4:20 pm

    Exam Prompt:
"Who the hell are you, again?" asked Louie, dumbfounded.

    "Alaric Lazarus!" the man replied.

"And you're intruding into my quarters... why?"

"I've come to duel a wizard of Fairy Tail! It has been quite some time since my battle with your Guildmaster, and I've come to test the strength of their sorcerers—"

It was late at night, and Louie knew it was because the only light outside came from a row of street lanterns. As he looked around his quarters, he remembered why he was here and not in his usual private suite. Apparently, the guild he had recently joined provided housing for their members if they went to someplace called the "Fairy Hills." Needless to say, the rooms were about as atrocious as the guildhall, but the blonde was able to make it tolerable after replacing the furniture with some of his personal favorites. By the end of yesterday, the items that had furnished the room before had been swapped with furnishings far more lavish. Aside from the windows, ceilings, wallpaper, and floorboards, the room had been completely transformed. In fact, it was so acceptable that Louie could tolerate a single night inside—he was exhausted for some reason, and didn't have the energy to even call his chauffeur over to pick him up. One way or another, he crashed in his room, but he wasn't expecting to be roused from his beauty sleep by some sharp-toothed stranger.

Sitting on the side of his bed, Louie stared at the stranger with a prying gaze. He squinted at him as if trying to decide if he was real. It was only because of this uncertainty and skepticism that he hadn't completely gone off on the tirade for Alaric coming into his private space as he had—and to fight him, no less! In any other circumstance, Louie would have killed him right then and there!

"This is a dream, right? No, why would I be dreaming about some freak like this...?" Louie debated out loud, continuing to stare at the man, bewildered.

"You're not dreaming, you fool! Come with me to the Magnolian streets! There, we will fight!" Alaric commanded. It was by this declaration that Louie suddenly realized something.

Louie's squinting screwed into a glare. "What the kind of f*cked dream is this? Wait—" suddenly, Louie sprung up from his bed, a swirl of vexation filling his crimson eyes, "—I'M NOT DREAMING AT ALL! You dare come into my quarters and challenge me, Louie Calvin Klein, to a duel!? I'll kill you!"

"Come, then!" Alaric taunted, carefully hopping out of the window and onto the streets below. Louie, who was so visibly enraged and red by what just happened that he looked as if he were about to explode, followed him without hesitation. In fact, despite only being dressed in pajamas that likely costed more than most people's rent, Louie was the first to launch an attack.

Fwoosh! A spear-like projectile crafted from Louie's cursed flames flew at Alaric at unimpressive speeds, but its brilliant light was nearly blinding to those who looked at it directly. "Who the hell do you think you are? Approaching me like that! This guild is run by pigs and acts like such, too! Filthy! Filthy! Filth—"

"What's this smell? Demonic magic? Do you even think you can control it?" Alaric chuckled, but it was a very disembodied voice.

"What?!" Louie exclaimed, wide-eyed and furious. A fog began to settle on the area around them, surrounding him with its dense clouds. He could see the shadows underneath them twist and pulsate like they were alive themselves, but he couldn't pinpoint where its pulse would be until just before Alaric struck from its shade. The vampire burst away from the fog and lunged at Louie with his clawed fist, but the golden-blonde was quick to place his palm caked with flames in between his face and the blow, feeling the power being absorbed by his delicate flesh. After signing the contract with Lady Twilight, not only had he awakened the mana dormant within his being, but he was now aware of the slightest of movements and gained combat abilities that he never had before. They weren't as polished as they could be, but he was somehow fending for himself against this pig!

"You ignorant piece of filth! Do you know who you're challenging?! Do you know whose clothes you are tarnishing?! Mourir!" Louie yelled at him, hatred and venom in his silvery voice as flames combusted from his palm, but missed his target who disappeared into the fog once more.

"I haven't heard about you before. Maybe you'll be forgotten after this night... like dust scattering in the wind." he said blankly, peals of laughter filling the streets as he bounced from shadow to shadow, "By the way, did you know that you look hideous in that outfit?"

Looking at the enraged Louie, you could almost witness the very moment where his patience had snapped. He tossed a barrage of fireballs and fire-spears into the fog where he sensed Alaric might lurk, his face almost red with anger. "I wouldn't ever die to trash like you! My body was crafted from the Goddess Aphrodite herself! My body and soul are flawless and every fabric that dresses me is only an adornment to my perfection!" Louie's fists clenched as he tossed the flames into the night, "The world is my oyster, and all of its treasure and beauty is mine for the taking! How dare you treat it any differently! How dare you breathe my air? How dare you walk on my earth? How dare you?! You are nothing! NOTHING!"

Before Louie knew it, the fighting hadn't been as brief as he imagined. Quickly, the fog dispersed, and suddenly the streets were not only clear and visible but began to light up with dawn's sunlight. The damage surrounding them became recognizable, dents and depressions in the pavement where Louie's spears had landed, and greenery that was once bright and young now burnt and black.

Alaric stood across the street from Louie, smirking. "So, is this the limit of magical prowess for Fairy Tail? Heero and Mura posed far greater threats to me." he shook his head, sighing theatrically as a shadow began to appear underneath his feet, sucking him into its darkness, "Anywho, thank you for cooperating, Louie Calvin Klein. I must be off, and frankly, the sickening smell of self-absorbed narcissism is too odorous for me to tolerate any further!"

"Excuse me?! Who do you think you're talking to?! You stay right there so I can kill you!" Louie began to dash at him, fire swimming in his palms with a deadly popping sound.

Smiling, Alaric waved, vanishing into the shadow as the sun rose, just before Louie's lethal flames could kiss his pale, cold flesh. "Farewell!"

    . . .

There was a silence, albeit brief, but still a pause in his outrage.

Suddenly, the ground trembles and became hot and smoky with heat. His fury peaking, Louie screamed into the morning sky. "BON SANG! BONG SANG! BONG SANG!!" Flames burst out of his eyes, hands, and mouth like flamethrowers as their cinders spread into the atmosphere like a volcano erupting, veins popping in his neck and temples as anger flowed through his very being. Louie threw almost a dozen fireballs into the sky in his rage. "I'll KILL HIM! I will grind him beneath my HEEL! HOW DARE HE!"

The street was still functional for use, but it was particularly ugly after their battle. Returning to his quarters, Louie sat there with a death in his eyes. To think he let such a pig escape—to let such disrespect and foolishness run rampant! Unthinkable! Where that vampire went, he did not know, but after taking a moment to sit in his room, the golden-blonde decided to never let such foolery go unchecked again! He was Louie Calvin Klein, after all!

    "Tch. Bon sang!"
