Magic Type:
Primary Lost Magic
Auxiliary Take-Over Magic
Description:
One of the earliest forms of magic and one that intimately related to what is known as "Heavenly Body Magic". Also commonly referred to as "Astromancy", this kind of magic works by conjuring the energies of the night sky, outer space, and the cosmos through the body of the caster. While Heavenly Body magic is easily learnable, this form takes it a step higher in its ability to draw on the same energy of the stars similar to how Celestial Spirits use their magic. This magic was once practiced by a lost kingdom from over a millennium ago, but after its mysterious destruction, vanished from the history books.
By relation, it has similar techniques to Heavenly Body Magic-- able to conjure beams of starlight, black holes, fly and use celestial energy for a variety of uses. However, in addition to this, its only its basic features. One of the stronger forms of the Arc of Cosmos, is in its ability to draw on the same stars that Celestial Spirits use which govern their powers. Unlike Celestial Spirit Magic, this form of magic does not require a contract and can be used freely, but in combination with those spirits, the power behind these spells can do much more. The effects on drawing on "Zodiac spells" as they are called, is they are far more versatile, from conjuring different elements specific to those stars or effects based on the nature of the constellation. Often to perform these spells, the user must draw the constellation out before them, usually with a hand or wand of some sort.
The strongest manifestation of this magic is the use of Planet spells. Spells that draw on the macrocosm which govern our universe. These spells are among the most powerful-- however, requires far more complicated conditions and side-effects on the caster. Further, the caster may draw in these celestial energies into his body to channel thier awesome power.
One who draws on this magic wields the unfathomable might of the cosmos itself...
First Magic:
Celestial Spirit Magic
Magic Benefits:
+2 posts to spell Durations, +15% to MP costs (increase to Durations/MP costs only applies to the lost magic itself not the character).
+15% to HP and MP.
Unique Abilities:
- Empowered Heavens: The Arc of Cosmos holds dominion of the night sky, the heavenly bodies and the magics contained within. As such, the heavens give a powerful boost to the caster who uses this magic. Arc of Cosmos spells gain boost to Spell Power equal to the caster's present rank (Rank cap at S -Passive Amount).
- Zodiac Sign:The Arc of Cosmos has extremely strong ties to the Celestial Spirit World, drawing on the same stars as a source of their magic power. Due to this the spirits are wary of those who practice this magic in fear their power will be stolen or worse. However-- with cooperation, the summoner and the caster can work in harmony to borrow power with their concent. When one of their kind is summoned by the caster of this magic-- the power of the spirit aids the user of Arc of Cosmos. The Summon shares their magic power willingly with the caster. When the user of this magic has an active summon out with them, Arc of Cosmos spells cost 50% less to use. The caster also regains 5% of their MP via connecting their magic to the same star that grants them power.
- One With The Stars:Channeling power from the cosmos and universe itself is an extremely powerful, but potentially dangerous ability. While the caster of this lost magic can command great elements of outer space and the celestial realm, to channel those forces into their body begins to destabilize their body to become more 'astral' in nature. If channeled too much and overuse of this magic, can cause one's existence to fade away into the stars.... The caster can channel his own life force (HP) into his Magic Power, able to use it as a resource in place for his own MP. When he does in excess, his body becomes more 'astral-like' his mass and physical body becoming translucent and made of stars. (Spells cast with HP must be double the initial spell cost used for). Due to this, his Take-Over Forms work easier as when he uses Full-Body Take over forms, his partial take-overs cost 50% less to use. The near-starry form can be triggered at will without risk for cosmetic effect and counts like a cosmetic take-over form.
