It was one of Martian's days off when he decided to pick a side job to do at random, it was going to range from saving an old lady's cat that got stuck in a tree for the umpteenth time to literally being a hired soldier for some private wargame held by a bunch of rich pomps who had a lot of jewels to burn. It would be to Mars's hope that he ended up doing a job that didn't involve a lot of big-brainy stuff that would more than likely hurt his head, even though he was capable enough to learn and that he would inevitably acquire the knowledge to eventually do such tasks in time. It seemed that Fate would align with the boyish idiot's preferred modus operandi in the form of an assignment that was simple enough to understand. The job location was in the Cursed Lands and the only objective to be fulfilled was to purge a collection of undead that have arisen within the Silent Cemetary.
As was the case for Mars, he lived in the basement of an aging couple who happened to be the parents of his boss Billiam Feyson. How this arrangement was established was that the robed manlet would find whatever way he could-- short of any illegal enterprises-- to earn the money he needed to pay for his living expenses. While he officially worked as an apprentice baker under Billi, it was ironically his side jobs that made up the bulk of his earnings. The paychecks he earned in the bakery were more or less his allowances for his own necessities and personal use due to them being earned on a weekly basis. The "rent" that Mars had to pay was actually partially paying off the property tax of the house in which he lived, the other portion being taken from the elderly husband's and wife's shared retirement funds.
The apprentice baker came to set foot upon the Cursed Lands after hitching a ride with an Undertaker, carrying only what he needed for his time here until his task was done. Amidst the doom and gloom of the area, an aspect of his new surroundings that he quickly grew bored with, the place where he was supposed to be at was easy to spot with the various graves and headstones scattered about over a large area. Waddling over with a childlike exuberance at being able to test his strength, Mars was originally going to treat this as a fun game... Until one of the skeletons made the more-than-fatal mistake of casting a fireball and hurling it at the now dangerous mad-lad, who was emanating a heat haze so vibrant, that it began to give off a reddish luminance that served to manifest the degree of his rage. Now, not only was he engulfed in red, his mind was literally engulfed in it as he went on a complete and catastrophic rampage all throughout the Cemetary.
The fury of the red-clad barbarian was such that he lost track of how many times he swung his fists or how many times his strikes have met with bone. Unfortunately for the restless dead, not only has the marauder's attacks found their marks but succeeded in decimating more than one of them in the process. Each and every time. It would seem that Martian was nigh unstoppable, and in his moment of unbridled rage, he was as not even the strongest of the undead, a female revenant was so brutally battered that she too made her inglorious return to dust.
