It's a small, colorful letter with a large picture of Mai on it. When you open it, the voice of your guildmasters resonate, reading the letter for you; you notice that the letter contains a single piece of cherry-flavored candy.
Hello Mai!
You've been doing a good job as of late, and therefore we wish to reward you! However, one more test awaits you before we can...
Do. Not. Touch. The. Candy. Imai would like to eat it later. You just have to keep it safe. If you do this, you'll get an even better reward! If not... you better prepare for the consequences, which may or may not include Imai crying.
Come find us when you're done,
Kenna & Itori |
- Said Consequences, upon unwrapping and/or eating the candy:
All of the sudden, the area around you fades away. Where-ever you were has now become a giant land made of candy-- a dream, you might think. A very great dream, were it not for the people in it. You'll find yourself being harrassed by creatures smelling a suspicious lot like your favorite food, and the more dangerous and violent they are towards you, the sweeter and more candy-like their scent becomes. You're attacked by a mob, and a handful of people and creatures come to your aid; alas, these people smell an awful lot like vegetables! They're as friendly as can be, and explain to you that the land has been terrorized by a sweetening plague.
Soon enough you'll realise your physical and magical strength is slowly seeping away-- and even faster if you try to eat any of the candy in this land. Your only cure to temporarily halt this is to eat one of the secret treasures; the very veggie you hate most! One bite is enough to restore your strength and temporarily halt the debuff, while eating the entire thing will give you an enormous buff. You don't know this, but a little, familiar voice in your head will often repeat;
Yucky makes you strong,
Yummy makes you weak!
Your goal is to help the like vegetable-smelling people to destroy the core of this sweetening plague! Which looks exactly like the little candy included in the letter earlier--- only the size of a large boulder.
Once completed you'll be returned to your original location, the small cherry candy still in your hand. You once again get the choice to eat it or not; however this time nothing will happen if you eat it.
3000 words and completion is the charm to S-rank! May the best Mai win!
